AN: Animals in Sing are evolved to be like humans. Animals in Andalasia can only speak because of the magic of Andalasia. The world of Sing has no such magic. And I imagine there are plenty of unevolved animals. Please review or comment.

Part 2

It took some negotiating with the fabric of her gown but they got Giselle into the limo.

Porsha looked at her gown. "That wedding dress is gorgeous. Where did you get it?"

"Oh, I made it. With help from my friends, the rabbits and the mice," she explained. "And my best friend, Pip. I can't forget him."

"Wow! They're good!" Porsha admired the fabric. "And you're a real princess?"

She shook her head. "Not yet, but I will be soon. Oh, Prince Edward. He must be so very worried about me."

"Cool." The gray wolf said. "And what kind of animal are you? We're wolves obviously."

Giselle smiled. "I'm a human. I love wolves. They can be so nice and very wise. Forgive me, I haven't asked your names."

"I'm James Crystal, CEO of Crystal Entertainment. This is my daughter, Porsha," he introduced themselves, realizing he hadn't exactly been polite enough to do so before. To be fair, it was a strange situation. He wondered if he shouldn't call Suki for advice.

On the way, she shared her tale. "So then I fell out of the tree and Prince Edward caught me and it was love at first sight. So now, we just need to get married and we can share true love's kiss."

The white wolf laughed skeptically. "True love's kiss? Really? You believe in that?"

She gaped. "It's the most powerful thing in the world." She confirmed.

When they arrived at Crystal Mansion, Giselle gasped. "Oh my! It's a palace! So you must be a king in this land." She curtsied without a trace of irony.

Jimmy puffed up pridefully. "Well, I suppose technically speaking, I am sort of like a king." He bragged, sticking his long, white muzzle in the air. "Porsha, you should lend her something to sleep in. I'll have the seamstress make her some new clothes tomorrow." He pulled out his phone to call Suki.

Porsha would have obeyed her father except Giselle had already found the sofa in front of the fireplace and fallen fast asleep. "Whoa, she was really tired, Daddy." She gestured

He looked up from his phone and groaned. What would people say if they knew he made a lost young woman sleep on the couch instead of a soft bed? "Hey, Miss, you don't need to sleep on the couch…" But there was no waking her. The long day and the emotional turmoil had taken its toll.

He sighed. This mysterious young woman from wherever was different from anyone he'd met before. Aside from being human, she was much more trusting of strangers than was wise. Beyond calling him a king, she didn't seem to care about the fact that he was obviously quite wealthy. Yet she spoke of true love's kiss and love at first sight as though they were real, tangible things.

"Do you think she could be a real princess, Daddy?" Porsha asked curiously.

"Porsha, no. I think she's a very lost, confused young woman who has fallen into our laps," he rationalized. While he couldn't explain a human in their world logically, he knew there had to be a more logical explanation than a magical well that teleported her there from a magical land. Carefully, he picked her up and carried her to a guest room and laid her on the soft, foamy mattress, covering her up like he used to do for Porsha.

When Pip informed him that Giselle had been pushed into the well to another world, Prince Edward knew he had only one mission. To find her and bring her home. So he jumped into the well himself, holding his sword at the ready. "Fear not Giselle, for I will rescue you!"

On the other side of the portal, the road crew were puzzled by the open manhole. The report was that a strange young woman climbed out in a wedding gown.

"Alright, close it… ahhh!" The rhino shouted as another strange person came flying out of the hole dressed in renaissance clothing.

Edward aimed his sword at the male rhino. "You, are you in league with the old hag who hath sent my fair bride to this land?"

"Hath?" The rhino repeated the archaic word. Before he could say anything else, a tiny chipmunk was shot from the hole in a flurry of glitter.

The chipmunk landed on Edward's shoulder. "Ahh, tell me, Pip, is this man party to this plot."

Pip shook his head and tried to respond, only for his voice to come out in barely intelligible squeaks.

Edward hopped off the ladder and put his sword to the rhino's throat. "I warn you sir, don't try my patience."

The rhino stammered. "I don't understand."

"I'm seeking a beautiful girl. My precious love, my one coquette, the answer to my heart's call," Edward explained his quest.

"I'd love to find one of them too, sir," the rhino agreed.

Edward put away his sword. "Then keep a wary eye out, you never know where true love might be hiding. Don't worry my fair Giselle, I will find you!" He ran off into the streets, jumping on the vehicles to get a better vantage point.

The rhino looked at his colleagues. "Did you see that guy? And was that chipmunk naked?"

The next morning, Giselle opened her eyes with confusion. In the midst of her happy dreams of Edward and their upcoming nuptials, she had forgotten her predicament. She didn't recognize the bed or the room. This wasn't where she'd fallen asleep the night before. The wolf must have carried her to a bed. He was so kind, catching her when she fell and giving her a place to sleep for the night.

She was surprised to see a strange frock on the back of the vanity chair with a note. "A clean dress for you to wear…" Oh, and the woman he called his wife was a lucky female indeed. She couldn't wait to meet her. She opened the window and sang out. "Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh."

A few minutes later and a bunch of wild birds flew about her, helping her to get out of her poofy wedding gown. They showed her to a strange room with what appeared to be a tub. They twisted the knobs and warm water came out of a hole hanging over the tub. She got under the soothing hot water and let it wash away from sweat and grime for her ordeal the day before.

After enjoying the hot shower, the birds helped her put on the new dress. It was a beautiful, but simple cobalt blue dress with strap sleeves, a broach at the neckline, and a skirt that went just below her knees. Finally, there was a pair of matching sandals.

She went downstairs, her new friends following her, to the kitchen. She appeared to be the only one awake. "Ohhh…" Now was her chance to return their kindness. "How about we make breakfast?" With help from the birds, she began assembling a beautiful meal, singing along the way. "I've been dreaming of a true love's kiss and a prince I'm hoping comes with this…"

————————

James Crystal usually slept until noon, the perks of being one of the richest men in the world. But for some reason, he couldn't seem to stay asleep. His nose picked up some wonderful smells.

"That's what brings ever afterings so happy…"

He opened his eyes when he heard the melodic voice echoing up the stairs, bouncing off the marble flooring. It was the most beautiful voice he'd ever heard.

After getting dressed, he met Porsha at the top of the stairs. It wasn't her voice. "What is that?"

Porsha shook her head. "I think it must be Giselle." They went downstairs and found the dining room laden with a sumptuous feast. "Oh, Daddy, you had breakfast catered this morning."

He shook his head. "I didn't do this. Wha!" He jumped when a pair of birds flew in carrying a tray of French toast.

"So to spend your life in endless bliss," Giselle sang, coming out of the kitchen with a bowl of cooked cinnamon apples. "Oh good morning. Thank you so much for the dress. You have a very magical house. Indoor rain clouds and a fireless fireplace."

James just watched her with his mouth flapping open. Thankfully, the doorbell rang, giving him an excuse to step away. It was Suki and Jerry.

"Oh right…." They had a working breakfast planned to discuss how to deal with Moon if he couldn't get Calloway. "Um, warning, we had a very interesting night and I'm not entirely convinced I'm not dreaming."

Suki scratched her chin. "What happened sir? We still haven't heard from Moon since you sent him to get Calloway."

He shook his head. "Let's talk about that in a bit. There's something more important going on." He led them to the dining room.

Porsha wasted no time helping herself to the breakfast that Giselle had made. "You did all this yourself? I'm amazed. I can't make toast. I can't boil water!"

Giselle smiled. "I'd be happy to teach you while I'm here if you want." She looked up at James and the new arrivals.

The redheaded saluki saw Giselle and her mouth fell with shock. James nodded. "Like I said, we had an interesting night."

Suki looked the young woman over. "What is this?"

The young woman and came over. "Oh, I'm Giselle. You must be Lady Crystal, it is such a pleasure to meet you. Lord Crystal has been ever so kind to me. You are so lucky."

Porsha bit her lip while her father pulled her away from Suki. "She is not Lady Crystal." He growled, surprising Giselle with his tone. "There is no Lady Crystal. She died a long time ago."

The girl gasped. "Oh! Oh, I'm so sorry. That's terrible. You poor man. Oh…" Tears filled her eyes and she had to sit down.

He felt bad for growling at her now. It was an innocent mistake. "Oh, there's no need for that… it was years ago… I'm sorry if I scared you…"

"But to lose your true love, oh that must be the worst pain," she wept softly.

He sighed, went to his chair, and began helping himself. "Anyway, Suki, I need your help getting Giselle home to…."

She wiped her eyes. "Andalasia."

"Right. Find out where this place is, Jerry. Then we can take Giselle home to her prince. Don't worry about a thing, Giselle. You'll be home before lunchtime," he promised her. He needed to get rid of this strange girl before they got attached.

She smiled. "Thank you, Lord Crystal. You have been so wonderful to me. I know Prince Edward will be as grateful as I am."

"Sir, if we don't get going, you're going to be late for your morning meetings," Suki explained.

He jumped up. "Damn! Good thing I didn't sleep in this morning after all. Porsha, you need to get to rehearsal. Giselle, you'll come too so Jerry can work on getting ya home."

None of them saw the dark eyes staring at them from the coffee pot.

In her long, black gown and her crown, Queen Nerissa gazed into the magical water of the well, watching Giselle with her new friends. "That little wretch would just love to come back here and steal my crown…"

Her loyal henchman, Nathaniel trimmed the topiary beside her. "It's a big city, Your Majesty, suppose he doesn't find her?"

"Suppose he does?" She barked back. She considered her options. She needed to make sure Giselle never made it back. "Hmmm, oh… if only I had someone special. Someone who loved me enough to go after him." She knew she had Nathaniel's attention when he climbed down from the ladder. "I would do anything for him…" She blew seductively into his ear.

"Don't you worry, my queen. I will stop him!" The short, rotund man ran to the well and jumped.
