It seems almost odd if one looked at this from an outside perspective, just of Kihal laughing with a prince's knight. Isn't that too close to royalty?
Well, not really. It takes the pressure off to spend time with someone who is not nobility, not one she is training or negotiating with, or anything like that. But someone who like her, now flits back and forth between two worlds, one that is familiar and doesn't necessitate rank, and one that is caught up in formality.
And Mitsuhide is sweet and loyal; he makes a good knight. And his patience is astounding! And he loves her, takes time out of his day, while everyone else still is running a mile a minute it seems like, to sit down with her.
"I'm glad that you could visit." Mitsuhide looked perfectly relaxed, leaning back, and Kihal smiled, the laughter of a bit ago still on her tongue, and leaving her smile too.
"Me too." It didn't matter that the visit was really a diplomatic meeting with Prince Zen to organize who all still needs trained with the birds. And how else to manage this. It just mattered that she was here now.
Besides sitting outside with Mitsuhide was the perfect way to end a kind of chaotic, busy day where she just returned from the meeting that brought her out here.
Mitsuhide's such a warm person, that he just draws people to himself, or at least that's how it works with Kihal anyway.
"You should visit more." Mitsuhide paused for a moment afterward, as if just catching up to his request.
"I should, as long as I can find the time to." Kihal paused, "What should we do then?"
Mitsuhide's face turned a light shade of pink, and he looked more confused as to how to answer that one.
"We could get lunch?" Kihal suggested, taking some of the pressure off of Mitsuhide, "You pick, I'm sure you know the great places to eat around here."
"I don't get to go out to eat often." Mitsuhide admitted, "But it would be nice."
"It would." And Kihal wonders how she just arranged a date with one of the sweetest guys she's ever met and one she'd love to get spend much more time with. However this happened, Kihal's already looking forward to her next visit to the palace.
