Dance

Season four, after "Steady as She Goes" but before "Prom Night II"

Samantha Miceli sat night to her boyfriend, Jesse Nash after they'd spent the evening at the school dance. It had been a relief that there had finally been one that he hadn't been morally opposed to, and Sam was still giddy that she'd been able to have his warm arms around her all night.

But as they approached Angela's driveway, Sam sighed at the inevitable integration she'd receive from Dad. Even though he'd accepted that Sam and Jesse were going steady, her father had a terrible overprotective streak.

"Is that big band music I hear coming from inside?" Jesse asked, and Sam sighed. No doubt Dad and Angela were playing Grandpa's old records, and she wished they'd play something less embarrassing.

She could just picture them, swinging around to the oldies music with big grins on their faces, just like they did on Christmas. Or worse yet, cuddled together with their arms around each other, not even listening to the music, like they did at Marcy's dad's wedding.

Or perhaps a bit of both, Samantha thought as she peeked through the window.

Why did they both insist they were just friends?

Sam returned to Jesse, leaning over for a big kiss. At least she could use this to her advantage.
