Patient
At the end of "Anniversary" in season two.
"Ah oh, oh ay that light is bright," said the patient who'd had his appendix removed the night before. She had a feeling this one was going to be trouble.
"Well, deal with it," Nurse Betty said as she checked his vitals. "It was a hard night for your lady friend, too." She hoped he might stop complaining if he had someone else to focus.
The man sighed. "I know. She thought she poisoned me." Betty placed the thermometer in his mouth.
The nurse shook her head as she remembered the night before. "No, what really panicked her was when you told her you loved her just before the surgery."
"Oh no," said the man in horrified shock, spitting out the thermometer. Betty shoved it back into his mouth. "That's inappropriate. She's my boss." The thermometer fell out of his mouth again.
Betty rammed it back in again. As she'd suspected, this patient was trouble. "If you don't shut up and let me, take your temperature, I'll be forced to put this somewhere else."
The man shut up at that, clearly understanding he'd rather have the thermometer in his mouth.
After Betty finally finished the patient's vitals, his lady friend slowly entered the room with flowers. Betty hoped the other woman could handle this one.
