Substitute
Early Season Seven
The picture of Angela in Tony's wallet hit Kathleen like a slap in the face. Tony was in love with his boss, and Kathleen was only a substitute.
Kathleen had known since she'd met Angela that they looked alike, both having blonde hair and fair skin. But certainly, that didn't matter, with Angela being a wealthy woman who owned her own business, while Kathleen and Tony were both working themselves through college as adults.
The time Tony took Kathleen to that fancy restaurant and spent most of the time spying on Angela hadn't made Kathleen comfortable, but Tony had apologized profusely for that, and Kathleen truly wanted to be with Tony.
She'd wanted him since the day they'd met. He was an incredibly handsome man, but also sweet, funny, and just as determined to succeed in college as Kathleen was. Even Daddy was impressed with him.
But then, Tony talked about Angela a lot for someone who was just his boss. About how great she was with Samantha. About how well she did in advertising. It was clear now that Tony admired Kathleen's drive to succeed in college because it reminded him of Angela's drive to succeed in her business.
How could such a sweet man lead her on like this?
