Wild Training for Big Demonic Exam
Inuyasha is staring at Sakaki who is standing about twenty feet across from the white hair boy as he reaches for the hilt of his sword, slowly reaching for the hilt while keeping an eye on Sakaki in case he makes a move.
Sakaki then makes his move charging at the boy with great speed and Inuyasha was barely able to react on time to pull out the Tessaiga and use it to block the punch that sent him back a few feet.
"Well, well, looks like your reaction is getting better." Sakaki complimented.
"But it looks like you're still slow if you can't react faster than I can move in for an attack, you need to let your body move faster than that if you wanna survive this world." Sakaki lectured.
"Yeah, yeah, I know." Inuyasha groaned.
"Can we just get to the fighting part already?" Inuyasha asked, growing a little impatient from this defense exercise.
"Easy kid, I know you wanna do some ass kicking right about now, but you gotta learn that sometimes defense can help change the course of the battle." Sakaki pointed out.
"You know, it's weird hearing defense coming from you of all people." Inuyasha stated making the karate master laugh.
"You're not wrong there, but even I learned some defense stance every once and a while." Sakaki chuckled, scratching the back of his head.
"(Actually, it was your dad who said those words to me and wouldn't shut up.)" Sakaki thought remembered Toga tried to make him do some defense training back in the days.
"Sakaki, are you done?" Shigure asked, sitting on the edge of the roof.
"Oh, Shigure! Is it time to switch already?" Sakaki asked.
"Yes, you would have known that better if you have started using the phone we got you since the start of the school year." Shigure scolded as she jumps down.
"Hey! You know I can't handle those fancy high tech little gadgets; it's always confusing on which button on the screen is for calling and the other to watch videoes!" Sakaki complained.
"Sounds like something a whiny old man would say." Inuyasha joked.
Then Inuyasha's instincts kick in having his arms and sword move in front of him again to block a fast incoming fast from an angry Sakaki.
"Remember, I can still above you in terms of power." Sakaki reminded his student with a fierce glare.
"Whatever, don't you have your mom to call?" Inuyasha teased.
Sakaki just groans in anger looking at Inuyasha also seeing that he is different from Toga as he never had to tease him like this, and retreated his fist and walks away to get himself a drink and punch out some steam.
"I could call her if I remember her number." Sakaki muttered to himself.
"Are you ready for your weapon training again?" Shigure asked.
"Ready as Hell!" Inuyasha nodded.
"Good, we can skip the stance and releasing your sword part since you already have done that with Sakaki, and they have improved." Shigure stated.
"Now, show me how you can swing your sword now." Shigure pulled out her wooden training sword.
"(Of course, she'd go with the wooden sword again since this "training" and all.)" Inuyasha thought complained.
Inuyasha pushes that aside and charges forward to swing his sword from the right strong which Shigure was able to block it with her wooden sword and parries it to the other side then whack him on the chest.
"It's more annoying that the wooden sword hurts." Inuyasha annoyed.
"You need to center yourself when attacking your opponent, you cannot allow yourself to attack shallow like you're trying to gain the long-distance advantage." Shigure advised.
"I just thought it would be the cast since my sword is big and long." Inuyasha pointed out as he looks at the Tessaiga.
"The sword maybe bigger than the average swords and longer for the reach, but those two things alone won't get you any further if you can't learn to use the full extent of the strength within the weapon and you must be the one to draw out that strength as the wielder." Shigure stated.
Shigure charges forward to slash at Inuyasha as he quickly blocks the attack and stands on his ground.
Inuyasha does his best to block most of the attacks though a few of them got him hard on the body and another whack on the head, but Inuyasha powers through the pain and swing his Tessaiga for a counterattack that Shigure easily dodge leaning backward.
"Your counterattacks are getting a little better, but you still need to work on your timing." Shigure nodded.
Inuyasha charges at her again to for a forward thrust attack only for Shigure to whack the large sword down onto the ground and instantly knee-kick him on the face sending him flying a few feet.
"Damn, you don't go easy on me, do you?" Inuyasha asked groaning.
"Of course, it is the job of the master to push their students through their limits to help them grow stronger than they could ever imagine." Shigure stated.
"Doesn't the master also continue their own training to keep themselves strong?" Inuyasha asked.
"Yes, the same can be said about the masters." Shigure nodded as she picks up the rusty sword that is the Tessaiga.
"Even though we carry on the title of "Master" that doesn't mean we ever stop training for life itself is the master and all fighters like us continue to seek further strength for whatever reason they have to fight for." Shigure stated.
"(Seeking strength for whatever reason they have, huh?)" Inuyasha thought curious about that.
Up until now, Inuyasha has always been fighting by himself and only for himself ever since his mother died when he was only five years old and had been on his own for a while, despite having Myoga being his guardian for a long while.
But now comes the question in his head what does being strong really mean and why continue seeking strength in the first place, never thought of something deep before in his life.
"Come, the training isn't done." Shigure said as she points her wooden sword at Inuyasha.
"Got it!" Inuyasha said before catching the sword that Shigure tosses, and it transform into its large sword form again.
Inuyasha can worry about all that deep stuff later, he just needs to focus on training for the final exam and to pass for Renka to give him her honest answer.
Inuyasha charges in beginning to clash weapons with his new master of weapons.
Meanwhile, Kagome is watching Inuyasha training really hard with Sakaki before and Shigure now almost like he's really trying to do better than himself which is something she did not expect to see out of him.
"Hey, I see Inuyasha is training hard again." Renka walked up to Kagome.
"He sure has, all because he wants to hear a certain answer from you." Kagome teased a bit, making Renka blush hard.
"Please, don't remind me of that." Renka exclaimed as she covers her face with her hands.
"You're planning on backing down from the promise you made, are you?" Kagome asked.
"Of course not! Renka Ma doesn't back down from her words even when it's up against an impossible odd, I'll see it through to the end!" Renka declared, putting her pride on the line.
Renka looks at Inuyasha still doing some hard training with Shigure as he was able to parry Shigure down, but the female master of weapons swung her wooden sword on the kneecap.
"Shit!" Inuyasha cursed as he fell on the hurt knee.
"You should also be cautious of how your opponents will use your defense against you, just like how I used your parry to my advantage." Shigure advised.
"Damn it, you won't get me next time!" Inuyasha said as he got back up and ready to attack again.
"(Inuyasha, you're a boneheaded dog who doesn't think much when it comes to action, but… I can see you're more than that.)" Renka thought smiled.
"(Wow, Renka must really believe in Inuyasha to pass the exam. Yet why do I feel this strange jealousy in my heart?)" Kagome thought puzzled at herself.
Kikyo just came by with the empty laundry basket having delivered all the fresh and cleaned laundry to everyone's rooms, she looks over to see Inuyasha is training hard again for the final exam which is only three weeks away and she does admire the young man working so hard.
"It's nice to see Inuyasha doing so well with his training, wish I could say the same about his studying skills." Kikyo giggled.
"Come at me again, you must focus your strength on certain goals that gives you the drive to push yourself forward." Shigure said.
"I know, I know." Inuyasha nodded.
Inuyasha comes at Shigure again with the more emotions of pushing himself further while also remembering that certain feeling from his battle against his evil older demon brother when he saved Renka by instinct, then something strange started happening to the demon dog's sword.
"(The Tessaiga!)" Shigure thought noticed something is up with the great sword.
Another clash between the two has caused a shockwave that was like a strong yet gentle breeze, and this also made Shigure being pushed back just a little, but she can definitely tell this strike was stronger than the last one.
Shigure parries it away and threw in a few slashes at Inuyasha feeling the intense damage on to his body, but he wouldn't give in.
I'm not finish yet!" Inuyasha yelled as he wants to keep on fighting.
Inuyasha swings down his sword at Shigure who felt the sudden urge to move out of the way and she did with the sword making contact to the ground and she strike him on the head knocking him down.
"Shit! That hurt!" Inuyasha shocked.
"Why don't we take a break, it is about to be lunch time." Shigure suggested.
"If you say so, but then we're going back to training immediately! I get the feeling that I'm finally working well with the Tessaiga, I can feel it!" Inuyasha smirked as the Tessaiga.
Inuyasha puts the sword back in the sheath and walks back inside to expect lunch to be ready in a moment or two.
"Perhaps you are in more ways than one." Shigure said as she looks down at the spot where the Tessaiga struck.
That spot houses one big slash crack on the ground about the size of four feet shack on top of each other horizontally.
"It looks like Inuyasha is getting closer to destroying the Tessaiga's true power." Akisame said walking up to Shigure.
"The sword with the power to destroy 100 demons in one swing, it would be a wonder for me to see that for myself." Shigure commented, feeling a bit excited on the inside while her pet mouse Tōchūmaru look at the crack closer.
"It is quite the powerful sword, Toga wanted something to help himself when he was facing what seemed to be impossible odds like facing 100 demons at once." Akisame explained.
"You sense it too, didn't you?" Shigure asked.
"That Inuyasha is getting closer to discovering that one technique which defines the Tessaiga itself, then you are correct." Akisame nodded.
"But he is still lacking the necessary push to help him bring out that full power. I will help him bring that out to the best I can do as his master." Shigure promised with determination in her eyes.
"That's very thoughtful of you to say." Akisame smiled.
"Say, if I didn't know any better, you appear to be very fond of Inuyasha than the girls and us. Almost like you're in love with him." Akisame teased.
And the very instant the last word of his sentence came out, Shigure swung her wooden sword at her fellow master of the Ryōzanpaku though he was able to dodge with the sword being close to his neck.
"You should be careful with how you run your mouth." Shigure warned with a fierce glare.
"My bad, I thought it was something I rarely feel from my fellow masters, and you certainly have an interesting emotion running through right now. Or maybe it could be my imagination." Akisame chuckled before walking away to leave Shigure with her thoughts.
Shigure is left alone with her fateful mouse who climbs up to her shoulder and looks at her face noticing something is bugging her despite still being her usual expressionless face.
"Damn it, why did Akisame have to say it like that?" Shigure clutched one hand on top of her breast and there are fainted blushes on her cheeks.
Tōchūmaru can tell that something is definitely up with her and that something is the feeling of fall that he knows all too well, he wonders if Inuyasha would even be a good mate for her consider she doesn't express her emotions on the outside much.
(Days Later)
"Come on, you can do it." Miu said, trying to help Inuyasha to finish.
"Damn it, why does it have to be this way? Why couldn't it be something else?" Inuyasha asked groaning, feeling like his brain is about to explode.
"I know the feeling but at least I'm not the one whining about it. Much." Kagome bragged.
"Just answer the question to the best you can remember, it's not like you're taking the written part of the exam right now." Renka stated.
We see Inuyasha and the three girls are having a study group for the exam coming up with questions that need to be answer in order to test the intelligent part for demon hunters, and Inuyasha has been struggling at this very much that he wishes this studying thing didn't have to be involve in the coolest class he has ever gone to.
"Okay, here goes…" Inuyasha wrote down the answer the best he could for a moment and finally puts down the pencil.
"Finish!" Inuyasha exclaimed and dropped onto his back.
"Let see what you got." Renka looked over at the paper and did the scores on how well Inuyasha has been able to improve.
"Huh, looks like you were able to do a little better than last time. 6.5 out of ten." Renka revealed with a smile.
"That means you'll be ready for the written exam! I'm so proud of you!" Miu hugged Inuyasha, pressing her breasts almost on his face.
"Yeah, yeah, thanks." Inuyasha gulped with his face turning a little red.
"Oh, you're done with studying?" Kikyo asked.
"Yeah, and we still have six days until the final exam for summer vacation." Kagome sighed.
"I could use a little break from all this." Kagome said.
"Then would you mind coming with me to the grocery store? The dish I'm thinking of cooking for tonight's dinner is a little more than I thought, and I need more hands to carry the ingredients in the bags." Kikyo requested.
"Sure, I don't mind. It's been a long time since we did grocery shopping together." Kagome nodded.
"Can I come too? I wanna get away from all this studying." Inuyasha pleased.
"Of course." Kikyo smiled.
Sometime after the grocery shopping, the three are walking home together with Kagome and Kikyo being in front of Inuyasha.
"So, exam is only one week away, and you still have to do the demon battle exam. I hope you're prepared considered how much you've been training with all the masters of Ryōzanpaku." Kagome said.
"You bet I am, I can't wait to kick some demon ass!" Inuyasha smirked.
"Would that also include winning Renka's heart?" Kikyo teased causing Inuyasha to blush like crazy.
"Sh-Shut up! What goes on between me and her is none of your business!" Inuyasha proclaimed shouting.
"Whatever you say." Kagome giggled.
But suddenly two large roaster demons came popping out from an alleyway they were about to walk past knocking the mother and daughter down.
"Kagome! Kikyo!" Inuyasha gasped.
Both girls are okay, but now they're at the mercy of the roaster demons as they look down at the two females and felt that they want to peak their flesh into their stomachs right now.
"LEAVE THEM ALONE!" Inuyasha charged in, dropping the bags, and pulling out the Tessaiga to fight them off.
Inuyasha jumps at one of the demon roasters while the sword started to glow a bit, he swings the sword with all his might and slice the head off only the attack didn't stop with one roaster demon as the slash attack follow up with the other three cutting off their heads too.
"Huh?" Inuyasha surprised of what he just did.
"Inuyasha! You saved us!" Kagome hugged him tightly and realize what she is doing and quickly pulled herself away.
"That was amazing, you got them all at once." Kikyo impressed.
"Yeah, I did, didn't I?" Inuyasha smiled, looking at his sword feeling that he is getting stronger with Tessaiga now.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Inuyasha is training really hard to be able to pass the final exam that is coming very soon for the half-demon dog boy all to push himself stronger and to see through Renka's promise, and it looks like he is also getting closer to unleashing the power to kill 100 demons in one swing.
