Jacob Black

Embry and I finished up our work in Nevada right on time Sunday morning and then we hit the road for California. We did not leave without stopping by a few places Embry was itching to see. From Caesar's Palace, Madame Tussaud's to the Vegas Indoor Skydiving and the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

I will admit, I got caught up in the thrill of it all and we lost track of time. I told Nessie I would be home before 5pm and man was the girl particular about punctuality. If I got home later than intended, she'd have my head on a stick.

But I was also missing her like crazy, so I wanted to get home on time.

So, I channeled my inner Dom Toretto and drove fast and furious.

"Geez, you could go a little slower, dude. I know you're aching to get home to get laid but I don't plan to be roadkill!" Embry state annoyingly.

I rolled my eyes but thought about it and decided to ease back on the speed for good measure.

"Lemme see that rock again?" He asked me.

I smiled as I dug into my pocket and pulled out the midnight blue velvet square box with the engagement ring in it and handed it over to Embry who flipped it open to begin analyzing it.

He whistled. "It's definitely something, I gotta say."

"Yeah. It's a true gem, just like she is." I expressed.

"Ugh!" He gagged and rolled his eyes.

I laughed. "I was surprised I got it at the price I did. Apparently rose gold and emerald diamonds are quite hefty on the market."

"You must have really charmed the jeweler's knickers off to get a discount,"

"Screw you, Embry!" I tried to sound threatening, but it came off as chuckle.

"How you planning to pop the question?" He asked.

"I have an idea. Alice and Bella are helping me out. Well, it's more Alice than Bella. Bella's just a buffer, making sure Alice doesn't go overboard." I told him.

Embry nodded.

Embry nodded and went back to examining the ring before closing the box and handing it back to me.

"Hmm. You did good, kid. Sure, she'll love it, even if it isn't the size of Atlanta."

"You don't think Nessie would have liked something bigger, do you?" I asked, suddenly panicked.

Embry shrugged and laughed. "She's your girlfriend. Shouldn't you know?"

I bulged my eyes in terror.

Holy crap!

What if she didn't like the ring? What then? Would she say no because it wasn't the ring she wanted?

I know Nessie liked sparkly jewelry, but she also liked simple things too. How was I supposed to know what kind of engagement ring she'd like?

"Shit!" I exclaimed.

I should've consulted Bella first before getting the ring or talked to one of her friends for help.

Dammit! Jake!

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

"Look, dude. I'm sure she'll love the ring. It's a beautiful ring, man -god I sound so gay and cheeseballs right now. Just make sure she doesn't see the ring before the proposal. That would sure kill the surprise."

Although I managed to catch the last part and shuddered at the thought, I tuned him out.

I think I need to talk to Bella.

… …

We arrived in Oakland Woods, California just after 5pm and I pulled my car into the Cullen Manor driveway just after 5:15pm.

I could hear Nessie's excited squeal from inside the house as I slipped out of the car.

I snorted, glancing back at Embry who had his eyes rolled back and mouth opened as he sighed.

"Incoming,"

Nessie ran out of the house superhumanly and charged for me as I shut the door to my car.

I laughed as I opened my arms wide out for her, suddenly feeling the sudden jolt of electricity as our bodies collided with each other, with her arms and legs wrapped around all parts of my upper torso.

"Jake!" She cried out in elated a gasp and scream.

I snuffled. "Hey, baby." I exhaled, my lips against her ear as I gripped onto her bronze-colored head full of hair.

"I've missed you," I hummed as I breathed in her hyacinth and lavender scented hair.

Nessie pulled away to grip my chiseled face in her tiny, warm, porcelain hands.

"You don't know how much I've missed you too, Jacob! I was practically dying without you."

"Ugh! It was barely three days, you weirdos!" Embry whined.

I ignored him by giving him the middle finger.

Nessie giggled.

Nessie giggled into my shoulder where she planted her lips, giving me small, tiny, quick kisses on the fabrics of my shirt that covered my shoulder blade.

"Yo! Ness! Is there anything to eat in there? I'm starving!"

Nessie shot her head up to respond to Embry as I began to play with the waistband of her jeans -with her legs still around my waist- and laying kisses on her neck, causing her to giggle in my grasp.

"Uh, yeah. Esme made some wraps earlier; you can help yourself to some." She told him between fits of laughter.

"Uh huh, great." He muttered, disgusted. "Don't bone each other on the car, okay! You're in a public space. Remember that."

"Goodbye, Embry!" I barked.

He snuffed and his presence disappeared. I decided to embrace Nessie in my arms yet again, curling my large arms around her small frame and pressed my head against her shoulder as I relished in her body so close to mine. Our temperatures perfectly in sync. We stood there for minutes. We could stand like this for hours if we could.

Nessie pulled away to grip my chiseled face in her tiny, warm, porcelain hands.

"Did you bring me the leftovers you promised?" She asked.

My cheeks flushed and lips parted as I looked down.

"Well, you see, what had happened was…" I began to make excuses.

She giggled with her mouth closed as she planted little kisses on my cheek before looking back at me again.

But this time it was with a frown.

"You've got bags under your eyes. Have you been sleeping?" She probed.

I sighed. "I couldn't sleep."

"Why?"

"Because you weren't there by my side." I responded truthfully.

She smiled back as I set her down to the ground and I leaned back onto the bonnet, with my hand for support and the other on her hip.

She crossed her arms. "I suppose it was hard for me to sleep as well."

I smiled slightly as I hooked my finger through belt line.

"Busy weekend?" Nessie whispered.

"You have no idea!" I told her. "Em and I were drowning in at least 2 dozen vehicles. Most of the work was just tune ups and paintjobs, but…" I stated.

She nodded.

"What about yours?"

"It was definitely productive." She stated, tightening the cross of her arms.

I furrowed my brows. "Uh oh, what happened?"

She sighed. "Nothing crazy really. It's just…there's this thing with Alex that I've been helping her out with it. She's been with us for the weekend. She's back at my house talking to Seth. She's really going through it."

I stared at her sympathetically. "That bad, huh?"

She scoffed at the euphemism.

I pursed my lips and stared at the tiny distance between us before pulling her by the arm gently and bringing her closer to me.

"You wanna talk about it?"

She looked into my eyes, her eyes filled with yearning and intent.

"I want to but…ugh, I can't." She stated, resting her hands on my shoulder. "I promised Alex I wouldn't say anything to anyone."

"No, I get it. Don't need to explain. It's not your place," I responded.

She nodded.

Thanks for understanding. She projected into my head.

"No problem," I smirked. "How did it go with Felicity?"

She cleared her throat. "Well, that's something I can share with you. It went great actually, better than I expected. We explained everything to her, and she seemed to understand as much as she could. I think our friendship is…restored, I guess. We're going to make it I feel."

"That's great! See! You had nothing to be worried about."

She giggled. "I'm just glad she knows now. I don't have to walk on eggshells around her or hide anything from her anymore."

"That's good. That's good." I said with a bright smile. "So, about those wraps Esme made?"

As if on cue, I felt my stomach start to grumble at the thought and mention of food.

Nessie laughed loudly.

"Someone's starving." She teased.

"I could eat a buffet!" I expressed.

She giggled. "Oh! We promised to grab dinner at Pie 'n Burger, remember?" She told me.

"Well, what are we standing here for then? Let's go woman!" I joked, reaching for the door.

Nessie giggled, holding my arm gently.

"No! No! No. I need to get dressed first."

"You look good." I emphasized.

She was dressed in some hot jean daisy dukes, puffy Ugg boots and an oversized Dartmouth University varsity jersey that belonged to Edward.

She cocked an eyebrow. "You sure about that, Jake?"

I nodded. "Totally."

She sighed. "Hmm. Such a shame. I bought a new blouse that I'm sure you'll love to see me in. One that accentuates in all the right places but…oh well." She teased.

My blood pressure increased, and my muscles tightened at the thought of her in an aesthetically pleasing blouse.

"Go change!" I responded without a second thought.

She giggled. "I'll just have to go back to my house. I was actually heading out to grab something for Esme. I'll be back."

I thought.

Yes!

With her gone for a little while, it would be the perfect time to get some time in to talk to Bella and Alice about my engagement proposal without the fair that she'll listen in.

"I know. I know you're gonna say I can't go alone so you can come with –"

"No. No. Go! I'll be here when you get back." I told her.

She frowned. "You're not gonna fight to come with me? Not overprotective today?"

"Is there a reason I should be?" I probed.

She giggled.

"Of course not!" She stated, running hand up and down my shirt to feel my abs. "I just find it cute when you get overprotective…sometimes."

I laughed and draped my hand around her neck and brought her face to my lips, kissing her delicate, soft, supple lips fervently before pulling away to kiss her forehead. I then embedded my lips on her cheek as we began walking to the Cullen Manor.

"You know I love you, right?" I told, digging my hand into my pocket to feel the velvet box, a reminder of why this woman is meant to be in my life.

"Mmm…A bummer. My heart belongs to someone else." She teased as she wrapped both her arms around my hard body.

I glared down at her. "Oh really? Who's this man and where can I bite his head off?"

She chuckled. "Hmm. His name rhymes with Caleb."

I snickered. "Caleb is actually a really nice name."

"It is! I was actually thinking it would be a great name for…Nevermind." She bit her bottom lip nervously as we approached the porch step.

I frowned. "What?"

"Nothing,"

"C'mon tell me." I urged.

She blushed. "I thought it would be a sweet name for our son someday," She whispered so low I almost didn't catch it.

"Hmm. I like it." I replied. Her cheek blushed harder. "Caleb Black sounds like he's gonna be a handful."

"With Jacob Black as daddy? Oh definitely!"

I bit my lip, gripping her tighter and hoisted her up the steps, causing her to giggle before entering the house.

… …

When Nessie went out to get a few house items for Esme at the local Target, Bella took me to the family library (along with Alice) to talk about the proposal and finally show off the engagement ring.

"Okay! Now show us the ring! Show us! Gimme!" Alice exclaimed hyperactively with that familiar high-pitched laugh, positively beaming with excitement.

I chuckled as I dug into my pocket to pull out the ring. I inhaled a heavy breath as I flipped it open and moved it closer to the center where Alice and Bella brought their head in to get a better look.

Alice gasped.

"Oh, Jacob! It is beautiful!" She exclaimed, her mouth smiling the hugest smile I have ever seen on her –and I'm not overstating it.

I exhaled a sigh. "Really?"

"Definitely! Rose gold is on trend right now and you can't go wrong with emerald diamonds but oh…that's a beautifully cut halo engagement ring." Alice stated.

I smiled hopefully and turned to Bella for her input.

"Jake…It's gorgeous. It's not too gaudy and it's not too simple. It's just right. Elegant. It's perfect for Renesmee."

"You think so? I was afraid she wouldn't like because I thought it would be too small or she wouldn't like the way it looked."

"Jake, you have nothing to worry about. Nessie will love it no matter how it looked but you did good, even I, the woman with no taste thinks so." Bella teased, using Alice's words against her.

"Bella, you know I didn't mean what I said! Stop holding my words against me." Alice fired back.

Bella giggled. "Nessie will love it. Remember, you're not getting engaged because of a ring, you're getting married because you want a marriage, and you want to spend your existence with the woman you love."

I nodded. She wasn't wrong.

"Yeah, yeah, what Bella said, whatever but the fun part about the lead up to the marriage is the engagement and wedding celebrations so…" Alice prepped as she pulled out her binder from behind the cushion and set it on her lap.

I looked to Bella with wide, shocked and frightened eyes. She laughed and shrugged at me.

"Just roll with it," She mouthed.

"I know we talked over the phone about what you want to do for the proposal and while I think your idea is sweet and thoughtful, it's a bit lackluster. I was thinking…we can incorporate some of your ideas with a list of things I think would be absolutely wonderful."

"Um…Alice," I began.

"What are your thoughts about an engagement weekend?" She asked me, ignoring my concerned look.

"Engagement weekend?"

"You know…Okay! You're hopeless." She began. "An engagement weekend is a time you spend with your betrothed after you've proposed. So, let's say you propose on a Friday night, then you spend the rest of the weekend celebrating your engagement before you get back to your normal routine and start wedding planning. That way you can still hold onto that initial excitement without having people in your face showering you with congratulations every second. You can actually take it all in."

I thought about it.

That actually wasn't a bad idea.

I found the idea of an engagement weekend quite intriguing. I think the idea that everyone's eyes were on me to make that one day perfect made me a bit uneasy so getting away after the proposal would be nice.

"An engagement weekend sounds cool."

"Great! So, we're doing it." Alice confirmed. "See, Bella. He agrees with me and you said he wouldn't. Ha!" She scoffed.

Bella rolled her eyes.

"But we'll want all the details when you get back, okay?" She stated. "And I'm planning everything if you haven't already realized. Pre-engagement, post-engagement, pre-wedding and post-wedding. Yikes! My schedule is booked and busy. This is so exciting!"

"W-wait …. Post wedding?" I asked.

"Your honeymoon of course!"

I sighed. "No, Alice. I draw the line on honeymoon. I gotta have at least some control over this whole charade,"

"I don't think your future wife will care for you calling your impending wedding a charade."

I rolled my eyes.

"Alice, I think let's focus on the engagement right now and wait for Nessie to have a say. I would like to think Nessie would want some input in her own nuptials."

"Of course! Ugh! Bella. Shush! This is why it should be just me and Jake talking about this."

"Nah, I'm so glad Bella's here. She's my buffer."

"From what?" Alice asked nonchalantly.

"From you!"

Alice gasped in shock and clutched her chest.

"Well, I never!" She affirmed. "Okay, fine! We will wait for Nessie and then we'll talk about wedding planning. It's gonna be a crazy, busy road ahead of us. There will be lots to do but don't fret, I don't need sleep remember? Alice has got this whole thing covered." She giggled to herself.

I sighed, staring out of focus from the two women as Alice began rambling along.

What did I put myself into?

… …

Renesmee Cullen

Jacob and I were eating at a booth at the fast-food restaurant, Pie 'n Burger later that night. We were catching up, joking around, laughing about, teasing each other, sitting in comfortable silence and just talking to each other.

"To think I have spent all my 25 years of existence and I never travelled outside of the country until I met your family, but you've been to like 15 countries at what…9?"

"Correction: 17 and you've been to almost all of them with me. I think you're fine Jake." I laughed.

"I know. I know" Jake shrugged. "This got me thinking, I haven't done a lot of things actually. I haven't bungee jumped before, I have never smoked, I never lived in a college dorm, I have never been to a strip club, I have never lived through a pandemic, I have never been to an expensive restaurant, I have never really been to a high school dance, I have never travelled just for leisure, I have never ridden a horse, I have never watched a single episode of Game of Thrones."

"Oh, I sincerely hope you wouldn't want to do at least half of those things though." I said, cocking my eyebrow. "Going to a strip club?"

"Would you have wanted if I had been to one?" He asked.

I giggled and shook my head. "Definitely not."

He snorted, his eyes moving from my eyes down to my chest area as he bit his bottom lip.

I blushed as I stared down at the opening of my leopard print blouse with a deep neckline that showed off my cleavage.

"You're right. I really do like this new blouse of yours."

I blushed, pressing my hand against my chest.

"I wonder why." I hummed as I took a bite out of my beef cheeseburger. "Mmm, this burger is so good." I moaned in delight, licking my lips and wiping my chin and bottom lip with my manicured index finger.

"Nessie, please don't do that."

"Do what? I'm a messy eater. You know this!" I muttered.

"No…don't moan when you eat." He spoke.

I cocked an eyebrow. "What? Am I making you feel things, Jacob?"

He sighed. "You're gonna get it when we get home."

I gigged. "Oh, I am so scared!" I teased with a mouthful of large chips.

Jake took one good look at my state before laughing, almost coughing out her drink.

I giggled.

"Nevermind. I'm good. This…just got rid of any naughty thoughts I had," He said, waving his hand around me.

I gasped and kicked him in the shin, causing him to croak in laughter.

"You got jokes, kid." I responded.

He smirked and pulled out a napkin and reached forward to wipe my lip.

We continued eating and chatting as we sat the open booth of the affordable restaurant until shortly after the second round of dessert came around and a couple of drinks later, that's when we started to feel the heat of the moment (an after effect of being away from each other) and then we decided to call it a night.

Jacob couldn't wait any longer to drive us back to his apartment where I would clearly spend the night with him whereas Seth would spend the night with Alex at my house.

When we reached the door to his apartment, jake practically couldn't wait to tear the fabrics of my clothes off my body.

I giggled as he shoved me through the door before shutting it and locking it and resuming to ripping my clothes apart. He smashed his lips onto mine and hummed as he began working to unzip my puffy leopard print blouse.

I moaned, resting my hands on his shoulders as he backed us en route his bedroom.

"Please refrain from ripping this brand-new blouse. I like it too much,"

He gripped onto my waist with both his hands.

"I wouldn't dream of it. I love it just as much as you do." He whispered huskily between kisses.

He then hoisted me off the ground swiftly and draped my legs around him, gripping onto my thigh with one hand whilst he used the other to continue unzip my blouse.

I slipped the blouse off my body and tossed it into the ground with an involuntary giggle, which caused him to chuckle as well before he returned to showering me with kisses.

We finally made it to the bedroom and Jacob gently laid me down onto his comfortable and soft king-sized bed as his large, muscular frame hovered. I moaned as I played with the hem of his shift before hauling it over his head and tossing it to the ground whilst he worked on getting my jeans down my legs.

He moved his lips from mine to relocate them to crook my neck, implanting soft kisses before the kisses became urgent and fervent as our desire and need for each other grew.

I was fiddling with his belt buckle when I suddenly felt his hot wet tongue lick and his hard, white teeth begin to nibble on my skin. I gasped out in gratification, gripping on his belt with one hand and the other gripping onto hair.

"Oh, Jake!" I moaned out loud.

Jake grunted in pleasure as he nibbled harder and deeper.

"More! Give me more!" I wailed in ecstasy.

He grumbled like a hungry dog as he nibbled and nicked me for a few moments longer before he decided to speed things up and get both of us naked before too long.

He then positioned himself and plunged his manhood into the gateways that belonged to only him and him alone.

"Oh, baby!" I moaned, gripping onto his hair.

"Yes, baby. Say my name."

"Jake! Oh Jake! Please!" I pleaded.

He began with small, gentle strokes before picking up the pace as he captured my lips in his.

"I love you," I gasped out between each thrust.

"I love you more," He panted.

"I love you most," I exclaimed, holding his face in my grasp before kissing his lip hard as he held me onto feet, spreading my legs apart to gain better access as he continued thrusting his hips into mine romantically and powerfully.

We spent like this for hours, maybe even bleeding to days, no one will know. But I knew I didn't want it to end.

I never wanted moments like this with Jacob to end.

The peak of euphoria is what made these moments so special.

… …

Renesmee Cullen

I woke up the next morning in the arms of the familiar hot, burning, russet skinned body beside me. I smiled as I planted a kiss on Jake's smooth chest, my lips lingering on my name tatted just above his pecs.

"Good morning," His deep, raspy morning voice uttered.

"Morning, sunshine."

"How did you sleep?" He asked me.

"Good. If you can call the four hours, we both slept enough to survive the day, then yeah, I slept just fine."

He chuckled. "Why don't you go take a shower a shower first while I make the bed?" He asked.

I nodded, looking up into his beautiful dark brown eyes before leaning in to place a gentle kiss on his full lips.

Jacob took his shower immediately after mine and I got ready for the day in his bedroom.

Hmm. Maybe I should call Alex to see if she was okay getting a lift to school. I didn't think she'd go with Seth because that would cause more questions than it should.

But where was my phone?

I started looking around for my phone around the room whilst Jake sang in the shower to one of his favorite bathroom tunes.

"Where is it?" I questioned myself.

"Hey, Jake! Have you seen my phone?" I called.

"I dunno!" He called back. "Check in your bag."

"I did. It's not there!" I exclaimed.

I spotted my underneath the pile of clothes on the bedroom chair next to the long stand mirror.

"Nevermind! Found it!"

"Okay!" Jake replied before singing again.

I sighed as I walked over to the stack of clothes and began sorting them out. It was mostly just my blouse, jeans and Jake's shirt and jeans.

As I began folding Jake's jean, I heard something hard fall to the ground and roll underneath the bed.

I sighed as I bent down to retrieve it.

It felt velvety.

I frowned as I pulled it out slowly to see a midnight blue velvet box.

My breathing began to hitch as my thought immediately went to all to romcom movies I see on television when the man proposes to the girl.

Was this an engagement ring?

No! It can't be! It has to be something else.

But…what if it is?

Well, it can't be Jacob's engagement ring? Maybe it's Seth's?

No, that's stupid!

Unless….

No!

Yes!

No!

Oh my god!

Was Jacob gonna propose?

Was he actually gonna propose?

My heart began racing rapidly.

It felt like my heart was beating at 900 miles per hour!

Thud. Thud. Thud.

Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

Did I wanna get engaged to Jacob?

1000 times yes!

Was I ready to get engaged at this very moment?

I don't know…

My brain can't even register from all the emotions.

I deliberated whether or not to open the rather large box.

It could be anything but an engagement ring, right…?

Right?

As soon as I heard Jake twist the faucet and turn the shower off, I shot up from the ground and shoved the box back into his jean pocket as if nothing ever happened.

I will never truly know what was in that box.

The answer would be left ambiguous until it was revealed.

But god was I hoping…
