So I think I've drawn out Mikey's journey long enough, I will say watching the YouTube video showing the comic that basically lifts the conversation with Desolation word for word is quite the...Interesting experience, the video's commentaters talking about the author of that book 'opening his third eye' a lot of that 'Woo-y' stuff I find hard to get into just sounds like another way of saying you've been enlightened

Meanwhile Mikey was fighting against the cold as he ran as fast as he could, he could hear Desolation's mocking voice calling after him saying 'RUN RUN RUN!'

Mikey went into a cave, finally collapsing to his knees and panting for breath

Then he heard a voice "Psst...Up here..."

Horrified Mikey looked up, seeing Desolation pearched on a pillar in front of him.

"'Bout time Tadpole..." Said the Crow Demon

Exsausted Mikey finally panted "What...Do you...Want from me?"

Desolation now sounded BORED and seemed to sigh as he said "I had hoped you would have made the leap of faith without MY explaining it for you...Oh well...You don't...Uh...Fit! You are NOT a man, you are NOT an animal, you are something...Aah...New. The future, YOUR future is up to...You. BUT! You have to decide now! I carry out the sentence you impose on yourself!"

Mikey felt the blood drain from his face...

"Hey!" Desolation cawed "Ree-Lax! Don't worry about the right thing! Worry about the true thing!"

Mikey was already beginning to feel this heart palpatations...

"Well..." Desolation cawed "...Meter's running..."

Mikey let out a thin gasp

"OK then!" The Crow yelled "Spit it out!'

Mikey threw back his head as if howling to the moon and screamed "LIFE!"

And with that Desolation dive bombed into Mikey's chest again, but to everyone 'outside' in that instant what seemed like a bolt of black lightning shot out of Mikey's chest, leaving everyone a bit cold and speechless for a few minutes.

And with that Mikey gasped and sat up, for a few minutes looking around wildly, not sure why he was on a table and covered with a blanket of flowers...

"My Son!" Splinter eclaimed joyfully "You did it! You have beated Desolation on your own!"

"Thanks Sensai..." Mikey said rubbing the back of his head "...Though I don't know what the shell it was I did..."

But then it all came back to him, what Desolation said...And it was then he realized Desolation had revealed at least in part what Animus was after...

So yeah, I feel in the first draft of this story Desolation was portrayed as evil even though he did the same thing in the end, I had to read the full conversation to understand what was really the point, Animus being a spirit of Animal Life is curious about Mutant Animals and seems to be creating more of them to see what they will do.
