Chapter 3:

We Are All Connected/ The Morning Report ( Song Form )

Several years have passed since Cobalt and Aurora's daughter, Twilight was born. She was becoming an energetic little filly ready for anything. Unfortunately for everypony else, this meant she woke up extra early. One early morning, at the crack of dawn, Twilight runs out of her room and onto a balcony as she looks at the first sign of the rising sun appearing and the City Of Harmony. Twilight smiles with excitement and amazement as she remembers the promise her parents have made to her. Very excited, Twilight ran back inside the castle and ran to her parents' bedroom to wake up Cobalt and Aurora.

Cobalt was sleeping and so was Aurora, who is sleeping next to him, until Twilight jumped onto their bed and headed to her father and mother, trying to wake them up.

"Mother? Father? Are you guys awake? Come on we gotta go!" Twilight asked as she climbed next to her parents.

"Mom, Dad. Wake up!" Twilight called as she tried to shake them awake but they just kept sleeping, Twilight pouted.

"Mom? Dad!?" She called again before she began jumping from her mother to her father and vice versa, trying to wake them up.

"Mom! Dad! Mom! Dad! Mom Dad! Mom! Dad!" Twilight yelled, still trying to get them to wake up with her jumping.

"Your daughter is awake…" Aurora said, half-awake with a smile.

"Before sunrise, she's your daughter," Cobalt mumbled, also half-awake.

"Mom! DAD! Get up, we're supposed to see the kingdom today! Please Wake up!" Twilight whined, as she pulled on her father's mane but lost her grip and rolled off the bed, "Whoa! Oof!" She yelped.

The little filly then flew back up on the bed and stomped her front hooves on her mother and father. The impact didn't hurt the stallion or the mare but it at least got them to look at the filly, "You two promised me!" Twilight said with a pout.

Cobalt and Aurora could see their daughter's eagerness with excitement and Cobalt knew that Twilight would go on with this until they got up. Realizing Twilight wasn't going to take no for an answer, the King and Queen snorted and tiredly raised their heads saying, "Okay, okay, sweetie. We're up, we're up,".

Twilight's frown turned upside down and beamed brightly.

"Yesyesyesyesyes!" Twilight cheered jumping around in a circle on the bed like she always did when she was excited. Aurora slightly chuckled at her daughter's excitement as the filly leaped off the bed and pranced outside. Cobalt begins to yawn a whinny-like yawn and slowly gets up as Aurora gets up with him. While he loves his daughter to bits, but he can't help but wonder, where did she got all this energy from?

Once both Alicorn parents had freshened up and put on their regalia, they joined Twilight outside. As they looked at the sun beginning to rise, the young Alicorn filly ran up to her parents, "Let's do this!" She declared.

Cobalt and Aurora chuckled at the little alicorn's bravado, "Let's do this," They repeated as Aurora lowered herself for Twilight to climb and Cobalt helped her up. Twilight held onto her mother's neck as she rose back, and the royal family flew off.

The sunrise begins to illuminate the top of the Castle Of Harmony impressively as it rose higher. Cobalt and Aurora landed on the tallest tower overlooking the entire City Of Harmony which was illuminated by the rising sun, making it more beautiful than ever. Twilight slides off her mother's back and sat between her parents as they watched the sunrise. This was the first time she was up that high and marveled at the spectacular view.

There was a moment of quiet between them until Cobalt finally spoke.

"Look, Twilight. Everything the light touches is our kingdom," He said as Twilight looked and saw an enchanting view overlooking the city with the rising sun in view.

"Wow. You two rule all of that?" Twilight asked, sounding astonished.

"Yes, with some help from your aunts and the other guardians. But a King or Queen's time as ruler comes and goes like the seasons," Aurora answered.

"One day, my daughter, the winter will come at the end of mine and your mother's time here..." Cobalt said, looking down at her.

"...And a new spring will begin with you as the new queen," Aurora finished smiling down at her daughter.

"All of this will belong to me?" Twilight asked as she looked out of the kingdom in awe. She was too young to understand what they meant.

"It belongs to nopony. It'll be yours to protect. A great responsibility," Cobalt corrected.

"Everything the light touches? Those Trees? The Fields? And beyond those horizons?" Twilight asked, looking towards the areas beyond the city.

"Those are grounds of the other creatures' kingdoms. You must never go there, Twilight!" Aurora said firmly.

"But I thought a King or Queen could do whatever they want, take any land," Twilight guessed as Cobalt and Aurora smiled down at her.

"While others search for what they can take, a true leader searches for what they can give," Cobalt answered as he and Aurora turned and walked off with Twilight following them.

"And there's a lot more to being a leader than getting your way all the time," Aurora added as Twilight got up and followed her parents.

"There's more?!" Twilight asked in interest. Cobalt and Aurora chuckled, Twilight always loved the opportunity to learn new things.

Twilight and her parents walked through the city, seeing ponies of all kinds talking, working, playing, and doing many other things. She saw Unicorns, Pegasi, Earth Ponies, and even a few Alicorns. The three eventually came into a nearby meadow.

"Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance…" Aurora started as they walked, seeing more Ponies playing with their friends and families.

"And as Queen, you will need to understand that balance and respect all ponykind. From our own kind to Earth Ponies, Pegasi, and Unicorns," Cobalt said.

"But Mommy, Daddy, why do we help other ponies? They aren't like us. Are they?" Twilight asked, being confused about respecting others around her.

"Yes, Twilight, so let us explain. When we helped these ponies, they helped us in return…" Aurora started.

"And when they do, problems we cannot solve on our own can be solved with the help of others. And so, we are all connected thanks to the most powerful magic of all: The Magic of Friendship," Cobalt finished as they looked out on their beautiful kingdom as their subjects lived their lives in peace and happiness.

"And when you become queen you will help the dragons, griffons, and other races of Equestria understand that as well," Aurora said looking down at her daughter and smiling, "And then Equestria would be an even greater Kingdom,".

Twilight smiled back at her mom and rubbed her nose against hers.

Celestia then flew down before the three and greeted them, "Good Morning, Cobalt and Aurora,". She then saw her niece and then leaned down smiling at her niece, "And good morning to you too my favorite Niece!" She gushed, as she hugged Twilight.

Twilight giggled as she placed her hooves on her aunty's chest, "Hehe, I'm your only niece, Aunty Tia,".

"All the more reason you're my favorite," Celestia shot back as the two shared a nuzzle.

"Hehe, now Tia. Do you have anything to report to us?" Aurora asked her little sister as the mare placed the filly down.

"Oh yes!...," Celestia said as she cleared her throat and began singing her report…

Celestia: Potions went berserk in magic school, Earth Pony Nobles acting they're above it all.

Blaze-Horn and Storm-Heart are arguing which I can't seem to recall.

Cragadiles are snapping up fresh offers from the banks.

Showed interest in my wing feathers so I quickly said 'No, Thanks!'.

As Celestia began singing her report, Twilight was getting bored with the dull facts of the song, when she spotted a gopher peeping out of the dirt and tried to catch it like a lion cub, only for the little rodent to hide back in its hole.

Celestia: We haven't paid the Hippogriffs and the Griffons have a hunch.

Not every creature invited will be coming back from lunch.

Celestia then chuckled nervously and kept going as Twilight keeps attempting to catch the gopher repeatedly through different dirt holes.

Celestia: This is the Morning Report.

Gives you the long and the short.

Every grunt, roar, and snort.

Not a tale I distort….

Of The Morning Report!

Both Cobalt and Aurora looked to see Twilight jumping towards a rock to try and catch the gopher, only for the gopher to dodge the filly and have her head collide with the rock.

"Twilight, what are you doing, sweetie?" Cobalt asked as he and Aurora smiled in amusement at Twilight chasing the gopher.

"Pouncing," Twilight said with a disappointed look after she failed to catch the gopher while rubbing her head.

"But not doing a good job," She sighed sadly.

"Awww, why don't you let a pro show you how it's done?" Cobalt offered as Twilight nodded happily.

"And I know how you can practice," Aurora said with a sneaky smirk as she glanced at her sister.

Celestia: Oh, the buffalo have got a beef about the season's grass.

Some skunks have been thwarted in attempts to save their gas.

Flamingos in the pink are chasing the Secretary Birds.

While Celestia was distracted…

"Ready to have some fun?" Cobalt whispered as Twilight nodded with a mischievous smile.

"Okay, first, stay low to the ground," Cobalt advised as Twilight crouched deeper into the grass.

"Stay low to the ground, right? Yeah, I got this," Twilight assured keeping her voice down.

"That's it, now check the winds and the shadow," Cobalt said as he uses his hoof to lower Twilight's flank into the grass.

"Try not to make a sound. And wait the perfect moment to pounce," Cobalt said, giving Twilight the final instructions as she snuck deeper into the grass.

Luna was then seen walking by with three other Alicorns.

The first Alicorn is a light blue coated mare her eyes were a royal purple and her mane was dark blue with streaks of silver and tied in a ponytail with a seashell beret. She wore a silver and light blue dress with light pink shell clamps, she had a pearl and shell bracelet and necklace with her own gold medallion with the mark of a water droplet. Her dress also obscured her cutie mark which was a cyan-blue tidal wave. This Alicorn is known as Marina.

The second Alicorn is a stallion like Cobalt but is much bulkier. He had a short dark brown mane and tail, and his coat was chocolate brown, on his serious-looking face were eyes colored a dark gray and a goatee on his chin. He was decked in Viking armor, a fur vest, dark brown bandages around his forelegs, and had an orangish-brown bandana on his head and a gold medallion with the picture of a mountain on it, on his chest harness. His cutie mark was two rocks smashing into each other. His name is Cliffbore.

The third Alicorn is another mare like Marina. Her coat was light minty green, her eyes a sky blue, and her mane was dark green and striped with jade green, long and wavy, almost touching the ground with flowers decorating it. She wore a yellow leaf laurel crown and a garland of different colored flowers and attached to it a cloak made from leaves that went right to the ground she wore it around her frame and at the center of the garland was a bright pink flower with a gold medallion with the symbol of a sporting plant. The cloak also hid her cutie mark which was a rainbow flower blooming. This is Gaia Evermane.

Luna, Cliffbore, Marina, and Gaia were walking by until they noticed the princess hiding in the grass.

"What is she doing?" Marina asked in her prim lady-like voice, confused at first.

Luna noticed Celestia had her back turned while giving her report and then turned to Aurora and Cobalt who just grinned and motioned for her to be quiet.

Luna understood and then laid down smirking too, "It seems Celestia is helping Twilight with her lesson," She answered vaguely and quietly, as she enjoyed the show.

The other three alicorns were confused at first but understood and said together, "Ooohhh,".

They then grinned too and sat down with Luna.

"This should be good," Cliffbore said in his gruff but wise voice.

"Indeed," Gaia agreed in her motherly voice with a giggle that Celestia was unaware of, as the white Alicorn was too busy singing to see Twilight hiding in the grass and the adults laying down.

Celestia: Saffron is the season color seen in all the creatures.

Moving down the rank and file near the bottom of the rung…

Far too many beetles are quite frankly in the dung!

"Take it slow, Twilight," Cobalt advised as Twilight crept up to Celestia.

"One more step…," Aurora said as a sly grin appeared on Twilight's face.

"...And…," Cobalt and Aurora finally said in unison.

As Celestia finished singing the last line of her song, out of nowhere…

"Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrkkkkkkkk!" Celestia yelled as Twilight jumped from the grass, pounced on her side, and knocked her off her hooves as Cobalt and Aurora laughed along with Luna and the 3 Guardians with the Princess of the Night rolling on her back in laughter.

Then Twilight began to sing as she blocked her aunt from escaping…

Twilight: This is the Morning Report.

Gives you the long and the short…

Celestia tries to walk in the other direction, while rubbing her sore back but was blocked by Twilight again as the young filly sang as her aunt tried to escape.

Twilight: Every grunt, roar, and snort.

Not a tale I distort…

As Celestia tried to make a run for it, Twilight grabbed her tail with her mouth and was dragged around in the dirt as Celestia tried to fly away while Twilight muffely sang the last lyrics…

Twilight: On The Morning Report!

Then Celestia lifted Twilight up a little off the ground and tried shaking her off, trying to get herself released.

Only for Twilight to playfully flung her aunt around as Celestia rolls around in the grass with laughter as Twilight brutally attacks her belly with tickles.

"Did I scare ya, auntie?! Did I, Huh, Huh?!" Twilight asked eagerly, as Celestia just giggled.

"Haha, yes you did, sweetie!" Celestia said, ruffling Twilight's mane before she leap away and jumped on her mother.

"That's very good, Twilight," Aurora said, as she held her laughing daughter.

"You got a lot of stuff, young lady," Cobalt said, calming down.

"Well, I had two great teachers to teach me," Twilight said with a smile at her father and mother.

"Now this time…," Cobalt said, as he placed a wing over his daughter and was about to say something to Twilight.

Suddenly, Storm Heart, a silver-coated alicorn mare flew above them. She had bright red eyes, a whitish-gray mane, in pigtails with steel clamps, decked out in silver and purplish-gray armor, with a wind-styled head circlet on her head. Around her neck was a golden medallion with the insignia of a whirlwind on it. Passing her armored skirt, her cutie mark was a swirling storm.

"Your majesties! Diamond Dogs! Ravaging the crystal storage west of the City! Blaze-Horn is leading the guards against them!" She reported in a loud commanding voice.

Aurora and Cobalt sprung into action as they took to the air before pausing.

"Celestia and Luna, you two, take Twilight home," Cobalt said, being serious now. "Cliffbore, Gaia, Marina, you three come with us!". The three nodded and took flight to the west.

"Mommy, Daddy! Can I come with you?" Twilight pleaded, striding after her parents.

"No, Twilight! This is something your father, the guardians and I need to handle!" Aurora said, kissing her daughters' forehead before she and Cobalt flew off following Storm Heart.

After Cobalt, Aurora, and Storm Heart flew off to deal with the intruders, Twilight started walking away back to The Castle Of Harmony with her head low and complained, "I never get to go anywhere with them,".

"Oh, don't worry yourself, my niece. One day you will be the queen of this kingdom," Celestia assured, gesturing with her wing before she and Luna followed Twilight back to the Castle Of Harmony.

"And when you're older, you too can come with us and chase those slobbery, mangy, stupid, gem-poachers from Dawn to Dusk," Luna added as Twilight merely huffed and they headed back home.

Author's Note: Here she is...the third chapter of THE ALICORN QUEEN ( Rewritten Edition ) with the song form.

In this chapter, like in the original, it would appear that Twilight, the daughter of the King and Queen, has grown from an infant to a little filly, who is ready for anything. And today is the day her parents show her their kingdom, just as soon she wakes them up of course. After successfully waking up her parents, Cobalt and Aurora took Twilight to the highest tower where they can get a good view of their home kingdom.

As they looked out their kingdom, Aurora and Cobalt were teaching Twilight about being the next Queen of their kingdom, including how a King and a Queen's time as rulers is simliar to the seasons. But they also teach her something that is very important to being a Queen than getting her way all the time. And that something is respecting the Magic Of Friendship, which connects them to all the creatures of Equestria from Ponies to Dragon.

That's when Celestia came in about to give the King and Queen the Morning Report about what is happening in their kingdom...in song form. But while Celestia was singing about her report, Cobalt and Aurora were teaching Twilight how to properly pounce, and to do that they decided to use Celestia as the perfect pouncing dummy. And with the help from her mother and father, Twilight was able to sneak up behind Celestia and pounced on her and sing the rest of the song.

And seeing that made Aurora and Cobalt laughed, as well as Luna, Gaia, Marina, and Cliffbore, who have witnessed the whole pouncing lesson and singing.

But when Storm Heart, another Alicorn Guardian Mare, informed that Diamond Dogs are attacking, the King and Queen sprung into action along with the Guardians. Disappointed that she couldn't come with her parents, Twilight heads back home with Celestia and Luna as they assure her that when Twilight gets older, she will be queen and will be allowed to chase the Diamond Dogs from dawn to dusk.

The next will be coming soon or tomorrow.

In the meantime, this is Dinoman213, signing off.
