Hi my fellow readers! It has been SOOOOOO long (since October 2022) working on this story. I'm working on other stories (Nashville Love, Midnight Kiss and still collaborating with Drew's Angels). Show some love to my girls JustCherry73, Tm12Brady, ClaymoreQueen6176, and GoldenGirl1920 for their works as well! You will not be disappointed! Thank you all for your positive feedback and support! I love you all so much! The last chapter left us off with the celebration of both Drew and Angela's birthday (Today is Drew's Birthday, Happy Birthday! WE love and miss you!) Let's see where we go from there with the rest of the extended family. Without further ado, here is Chapter 18.
Chapter 18
A month and a half later…...
After celebrating the birthdays of Drew and Angela, the family was getting ready to plan a double baby shower for Cherry and Denise, now eight months pregnant. Christine is six months and what's even better, everyone found out the genders of the babies a month prior: Cherry is having a girl; Denise is having twin boys and Christine is having a boy. The girls cannot wait to have their babies in their arms and their hubbies taking care of them. Meanwhile, Christina was dealing with a personal tragedy that rocked her; Miracle wasn't feeling well. She wouldn't eat anything and was starting to get weaker. Feeling scared, she called her father and took her to the vet while Drew was at the gym with Sheamus, Randy, and Jack. Christina asked the girls to watch Angela until they got back. At the animal hospital, they found out she had a severe blockage, meaning she had bladder cancer. The vet told them they had to put her down, and Christina was devastated. She called Drew, crying hysterically and Drew immediately left with the guys to go home and comfort her. She called the girls and told them the heartbreaking news. Once Christina came home, she broke down and Drew immediately hugged her. The thought of losing a pet is unbearable, heartbreaking, and tragic.
"My baby Miracle! I can't believe she's gone!" Christina cried.
"We are so sorry, darling. We know the feeling when Cherry and I had to put our fur babies down." Denise replied.
"It hurts so much." Cherry added.
"I never thought it would come to this." Christina said, wiping her eyes.
"My love, we will help you get through this, together as a family." Drew replied, kissing her head.
"Yes, we will, Lass." Sheamus agreed.
"Miracle will always be with you in spirit. She knew she was loved." Christine said.
"She can never be replaced." Randy replied.
"And never forget, she loved you too. That's what counts." Jack added.
"I love you all so much. I don't know what I would do without you." Christina replied.
Everyone came and did a group hug and prayed in honor of Miracle. A few minutes later, Angela was feeling fussy. Christina insisted on getting her, but Drew beat her to it and picked her up. Christina had to be strong because she did not want to cry in front of their baby girl, even though she is heartbroken after losing Miracle. Everyone wanted to make sure she was okay, gave her a hug and left. Drew hated seeing his wife upset and heartbroken. He wanted to take away her pain, but being there with her and consoling her, that is what he's willing to do. Christina was upstairs giving Angela a bath, while Drew was downstairs making her favorite food: Spaghetti (getting the water to boil first in the pot before anything else, lol.) After she was done bathing Angela, she put on her pajamas, and she smelled the aroma of the food. She went downstairs with her and the sight of her husband cooking her favorite food made her heart swell with joy.
"Ooh, aside from seeing my sexy Scottish husband, that smells delicious." Christina told him.
"My love, I know you had a very hard day, and it hurts me so much seeing you crying and hurting. I don't know what else I can do to make you feel a little better." Drew replied.
"Just having you here with me, Angela and our family, I'm very grateful to have you all with me." Christina said.
"We love you and need you. Cherry and Denise are going to need the help, planning their baby showers." Drew added.
"And I will certainly be there to help them. They deserve a double baby shower since they are two weeks apart." Christina said.
"That's my girl. I love you, baby. I made us spaghetti, your favorite." Drew replied.
"I love you too very much honey, and yummy. I'm starving." Christina said.
"Food!" Angela cooed.
"Yes, baby girl, you are going to eat some good food from your Daddy." Drew cooed to her.
Drew served Christina a nice plate, while she cut up some noodles for Angela to eat. Drew served himself a plate, sat down with her and ate their food. About twenty minutes later, everyone finished eating, Angela looked so cute with her mouth covered with spaghetti sauce. Christina got a wet napkin to wipe her face down, Drew took their plates, washed the dishes, and cleaned up the kitchen. He put the food away, while Christina took Angela upstairs and was rocking her to sleep. A few minutes later, she fell asleep in her arms and Christina laid her down gently in her crib. A tear was falling down her cheek, still feeling sad about losing her cat, but feeling blessed to have not only her, but Drew and the family with her through this difficult time. Drew said good night to Hunter and Chaz, but knew someone was missing, Miracle. He started to get teary-eyed a bit because he loved her like she was his own.
He went upstairs to Angela's room and saw his wife looking at their daughter, sleeping peacefully. Drew went to hug her, and Christina started crying again, seeing how much putting down Miracle had affected her so much. Without thinking, he wiped her eyes, kissed her head, and leaned down for her lips. Christina welcomed his kiss without hesitation, wrapping her arms around him, while Drew lifted her up, left their daughter sleeping, and went to their bedroom. He laid her down on their bed, wrapped his arms around her, showing her love and affection. Christina was eternally grateful for having this amazing man in her life along with her girls and her extended family.
A few days later…...
Christina was keeping herself busy helping Drew, Christine, Jack, and Randy plan the double baby shower for Cherry and Denise. Randy booked the venue, Drew and Jack helped with the food and Christine and Christina took care of the decorations with blue and pink balloons and streamers. This was going to be the best double baby shower ever, and Christina could not wait to see their faces. Thankfully, everything was taken care of without a hitch. Sheamus helped send out the invitations to everyone, including Cherry's mom and Denise's parents.
The day of the double baby shower was here, and everyone arrived on time with loads of gifts for the babies. Cherry and Denise entered the venue and had their mouths wide open at the setup. Cherry was wearing a light pink and red comfortable maxi dress, and Denise was wearing the same kind, only in blue, which is her favorite color. Jack and Randy were in awe of seeing their beautiful women glowing with their pregnant bellies. Christina sees them and greets them with hugs.
"Sis, what is all of this?!" Cherry asked.
"This is a double baby shower, for both of you!" Christina replied.
"You really didn't have to do that!" Denise said.
"Trust me, both of you would do the same thing." Christina added.
"Point taken, thank you so much!" Cherry replied.
"We love you for this!" Denise said.
"Don't just thank me, thank them." Christina replied, pointing at Drew and everyone.
"Thank you everyone!" Cherry and Denise shouted.
Everyone cheered and greeted them. Cherry's mom and Denise's parents hugged them, Jack and Randy gave them a kiss and led them to their seats so the baby shower could get started.
A few hours later, everyone was having so much fun; Cherry and Denise received so many gifts for their babies, including toy pens, (if you know, you know) the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Everyone took pictures with Cherry and Denise, Angela was dancing to the music with Drew and Christina, Sheamus and Christine were telling funny jokes, and Jack and Randy danced with their lovely ladies. Feeling exhausted, Cherry and Denise thanked everyone for everything and said good night. Jack and Randy took them home, Sheamus and Christine offered to help clean up but luckily, Drew hired extra workers to help clean up. Angela fell asleep in Drew's arms and Christina couldn't help but smile. This double baby shower was a huge success and Christine is pumped to see how her own baby shower will turn up. Pretty soon, Cherry and Denise will deliver their bundles of joy and everyone was looking forward to see them enter the world, expanding their extended family.
Chapter 19 is coming up!
