Chapter 21:
Battle For The Castle Of Harmony
Fearfully watching the fire, Twilight desperately hung onto the edge of the balcony with her forehooves for dear life as Chrysalis looked at her with nostalgia, "Now this looks familiar…Hmmm, where have I seen this before? Let me think…Hmmm," She thought to herself, holding a hoof to her face in mock contemplation as Twilight struggled to hold on for as long as she could with only her hooves.
Before Chrysalis said, finally realized it mockingly, "Oh, yes, I remember. This is just the way your mother looked before she died,".
Twilight slipped for a moment when she heard that, "HUH?" She gasped, nearly losing her grip. How could Chrysalis know what her mother looked like before she died.
Then, like she did with her sister at that fateful stampede, Chrysalis slammed her hooves onto Twilights'.
"And here's my little dark secret, Twilight...," Chrysalis started as she leaned her head down to her niece's ear and whispered the truth, "…I killed Aurora,".
Twilight's eyes widened in horror and realization, with her mind flashing back to the traumatic moment of her mother's death. Chrysalis was responsible for her mother's death all along!
The flashback begins with Aurora falling to her death and Twilight, her younger self, watching her mother falling to her death from atop the canyon as she screamed out in horror, "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!".
"NOOOOOO!" Twilight's younger voice morphed into her adult voice as the flashback ended, and Twilight screamed in rage and sorrow as she took a giant leap, lunging herself off the ledge and onto Chrysalis, pinning the traitorous queen on her back. Furious at all the years she lost with her family because of her. "MURDER!" She shouted in rage and hate.
The other Alicorns were shocked and slightly confused as they stared in alarm, and Chrysalis was caught completely by surprise and was understandably nervous and shaken.
"No, Twilight, please," Chrysalis begged nervously, seeing her own arrogance and pride backfire on her.
"Tell them the TRUTH!" Twilight demanded angrily.
"The truth? The truth is in the eye of the behold-!" Chrysalis asked as she tried to change the subject, but Twilight didn't allow it and pressed her front hoof on Chrysalis's throat, choking her. She was going to get Chrysalis to admit what she had done no matter what.
"Alright. Alright!" Chrysalis conceded in a croaky voice as Twilight continued choking her, "... I did it," She whispered venomously.
"For all to hear you," Twilight clarified to her with a sneer.
Grudgingly, Chrysalis shouted as she finally confessed in a louder voice, "I KILLED Aurora!".
Enraged that Chrysalis was truly the one responsible for the deaths of the former queen, Flash and Cadance charge towards Chrysalis, lunging into battle, as the Diamond Dogs begin to swarm and attack Twilight, knocking her off of Chrysalis.
Following Flash and Cadance's example, Cobalt, Celestia, Luna, the Guardians, and the other Alicorns joined the fight. Years of oppression and new rage at the revelation fueled their desire to fight, as they attacked the Diamond Dogs from behind.
As the Diamond Dogs began to maul in on Twilight while the princess was fighting them on the ground, one Diamond Dog prepared to kill her until Flash attacked it and knocked it off his childhood friend with a swat of his forehoof.
Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Applejack joined in as they all charged into the fray, using the same techniques they had used to repel the vultures, shouting through a battle cry, "Yeee-Haaaaaaawwwwww!".
"Excuse Us!" Fluttershy exclaimed as she and her friends charged through the Diamond Dogs.
"Pardon Us!" Rarity exclaimed as they ran through like bowling balls.
"Comin' Through!" Applejack exclaimed through a bowling pin sound effect from the Diamond Dogs they are colliding with.
"Hot stuff!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed as the Diamond Dogs were sent flying everywhere like bowling pins.
"Whooo!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed as Rarity blasted a Diamond Dog away with her magic and Applejack kicked the other with her hind legs.
The Mane 5 looked left and right, bracing for action, before they took charge and split up in three different directions.
Meanwhile, Twilight was chasing a few Diamond Dogs until one leaped and bit her flank. But Twilight quickly used her magic and tossed it away and continued to fight off the Diamond Dogs who are attacking her with all her might as one Diamond Dog jumped down on her from a nearby ledge and bit her neck as Twilight whinnied in pain.
Suddenly, the Diamond Dog was whacked off of her by a staff as Twilight looked up questioningly to see Zecora, standing on a ledge and shaking her staff over her head, doing a battle scream herself and jumped down, joining the fray.
Zecora was surrounded by Diamond Dogs, and she was in a kung fu stance, holding her staff over her head like it was a sword.
One Diamond Dog lunges at the Unicorn Wizard, but using her acrobatic skills, Zecora jumps over the slobbery mutt and smacks another Diamond Dog with her staff. Then Zecora looks to her side, not seeing another Diamond Dog open his jaws wide as he approaches her. But Zecora acted quickly and gave the Diamond Dog a good horse kick. After that, Zecora fires her magic at two more Diamond Dogs across the face, sending them to the ground unconscious while doing Kung fu yells.
With the area secured, Zecora looked around to see if there were any more Diamond Dogs brave enough to go up against her. One Diamond Dog tries one attempt to attack her from behind, but the Unicorn Wizard sensed this and without looking, slams her hoof into the Diamond Dog's face, knocking him out.
As the battle continues, Twilight, Flash, Cadance, Cobalt, Celestia, Luna, the Guardians, and the other Alicorns fight against the Diamond Dogs on the Castle Of Harmony as the fire continues to rage on and engulfed the Castle Of Harmony.
Most of the Diamond Dogs are now retreating from the Castle Of Harmony, while others were cast into the flames. Twilight looks around and notices that Chrysalis has vanished, before she rushes off to find her mother's true murderer.
While the tides have turned for the Alicorns, Rarity and Pinkie are now being chased by Rover and Fido as the large Diamond Dog attempts to take a bite at Rarity, causing the white Unicorn to jump into the air. Chasing the two ponies into the throne room, Shining Armor saw them coming towards him for safety from the Diamond Dogs.
"Let me out! Let me out!" Shining Armor shouted from within his cage.
"Let us in! Let us in!" Pinkie and Rarity shouted as Pinkie opened the cage, and they got in the cage themselves to seek refuge.
As the two Diamond Dogs closed in on them and surrounded the cage, Rarity, Pinkie, and Shining Armor briefly held each other close as Rarity pleaded with her hooves clasped, "Please don't eat us!".
But before the three ponies could become dog food, a voice was heard and snapped, "Hey! Drop 'em,".
Rover and Fido turned in surprise to see Fluttershy standing at the entrance with a disgruntled glare, with Rainbow and Applejack standing behind her.
"Hey, who's the yellow donkey with wings?" Fido asked, raising a brow.
"Are you talking to me?" Fluttershy challenged.
"Uh oh! He called her a yellow donkey with wings," Pinkie and Rarity said to both Rover and Shining Armor. Both of whom were wondering why it was wrong.
"Are you talking to me?!" Fluttershy challenged again as anger built up in her.
"Shouldn't have done that," Applejack warned as she backed up.
"ARE YOU TALKING TO ME?!" Fluttershy challenged once more, shouting.
"Now you're in for it," Rainbow Dash said with a smirk as she followed Applejacks' example, but with more amusement.
"I AM…A YELLOW PEGASUS…YOU…BIG…DUMB…MEANIES! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Fluttershy finally shouted as she lets out a battle cry and charged at the group, attacking the shocked Diamond Dogs.
Walking by the entrance of the throne room, Spot, Rainbow, and Applejack observed the carnage as both Rover and Fido were attacked by the enraged, offended, normally shy Pegasus.
"Take that! You stupid…," Shining Armor shouted, Spot ducked from the debris flying out.
"OW! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!" Fido shouted in pain as Applejack covered her eyes with her hat.
"Take that!" Rarity shouted as a rock hits Spot on the head.
"And that!" Pinkie added as Rainbow smirked and made some boxing motions with her hooves.
"Keep at 'em! Keep at 'em!" Fluttershy shouted as Rover and Fido ran out of the throne room and collided with Spot as they all ran far away from the entrance in fear.
"Ow! Ooh! Whoo, baby!" Rainbow commented as she and Applejack laughed as the 3 mares and Shining Armor emerged from the throne room.
"Yeah, go on, you yellow-bellied!" Fluttershy shouted as she, Rarity, Pinkie, and Shining Armor emerged from the throne room.
Empowered by their victory over the three Diamond Dogs, The Mane 5 and Shining Armor began chanting, "Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!".
Author's Note: Looks like Chrysalis wasn't as smart as she thought she was.
After cornering Twilight at the edge of the balcony and having her dangling, Chrysalis was beginning to make some mocking observations and compared Twilight's misfortune to her Mother's misfortune. And like she did to her sisters all those years ago, Chrysalis stomps her hooves on Twilight's hooves. But this time, it's going to be different, because just before Chrysalis could kill Twilight, she told her niece the truth about the death of Aurora...Chrysalis was the pony responsible for Twilight's mother's death the whole time, and not Twilight.
Enraged and furious by her aunt's betrayal to the family, Twilight jumps onto Chrysalis and pinned her down with anger and hate. But even when Twilight got Chrysalis to confess the truth to everypony, Chrysalis has the Diamond Dogs to protect her from Twilight. But Twilight has her friends and family to help and protect her from the Diamond Dogs, including The Mane 5 and Zecora.
By working together, all the Diamond Dogs began evacuating the Castle while others were thrown into the flames, seeing they were no match for Alicorns or Ponies.
And speaking of Ponies, Rarity and Pinkie were being chased by Rover and Fido and seeked shelter in Shining Armors cage. But luckily for them, Fluttershy came to their rescue, because one thing Fluttershy will not tolerate is others hurting her closest friends. And maybe Fido shouldn't call her 'A Yellow Donkey With Wings' because that just made Fluttershy madder and go on attack mode.
By going on attack mode, Fluttershy didn't only save her friends but she also sent the Diamond Dogs running for the hills. Now they know one thing...
Never Mess With Fluttershy!
But while the Alicorns, The Mane 5, and Zecora handled the Diamond Dogs, one pony is about to challenge the boss in an epic final battle in the next chapter of the story...
