Chapter 23:
The New Alicorn Queen
As the flames continued to rise and burn around the Castle Of Harmony, the rains came down and doused the fires, bringing an end to the war. Extinguishing the flames and leaving the city in a fog of steam and smoke. All of the Diamond Dogs had either died in the fire or fled the kingdom, never to return.
Emerging from the smoke, the Mane 5 walked past a burnt tree to the front of the castle where they saw Twilight emerge from the castle and came down from the castle to join the rest of her family. It was then they knew that everything was going to be alright.
They were relieved as Twilight had disappeared during the fight, and it was early to assume the worst. But everypony knew that the Chrysalis issue was resolved.
As Twilight descended the castle, Shining Armor and Cadance bowed to her as the Alicorn Princess passed them. The Guardians smiled at her as Twilight was greeted by Celestia and Luna as they walked by and around her. Approving nods and big smiles on their faces.
Next, Twilight was greeted by Cobalt as they shared a father-daughter nuzzle with each other. Cobalt couldn't have been more prouder of his young daughter.
Then turning to her loved one, Twilight and Flash embraced each other, but their moment was interrupted however by the sound of a rattle. And Twilight wondered what was going on.
Looking up, Twilight, Flash, and Cobalt can see Zecora on the castle podium and gesturing to the balcony above it for Twilight to take what was truly hers. And it made Twilight a little nervous.
But knowing the time had come, Twilight made her way toward the castle but stopped at the gates as she turned to the mysterious Unicorn wizard who bowed to her humbly.
Grateful for her help and amused by her conduct, Twilight pulled Zecora into a hug, just like her father once did. Zecora was momentarily surprised for a moment, but she hugged her back. It was nice to know that she had a friend with the young mare. Zecora was glad she would be able to help a member of the royal family.
"This is sublime, make the kingdom rise from tragedy. For it is time. Your Majesty," Zecora said as she broke away from the hug and pulled Aurora's crown from her cloak, and placed it on her daughter's head.
Looking at the crown for a moment, Twilight nodded in response and began to ascend towards the balcony of the castle in the rain.
Below her, Flash, Cobalt, Celestia, Luna, and The Guardians watch Twilight as she begins ascending to the balcony of the castle like an adult pony ready to accept her duty as queen. Cadance and Shining Armor watched in awe as they looked up to their friend and took in the unforgettable moment.
Even the Mane 5 watched in awe, likewise, watching their friend rise up as Queen of Equestria as Twilight majestically continued on making her royal ascent through the rain.
At the same time, everypony saw something amazing, Twilight's flanks began to glow a white light as it faded and left something. A magenta star surrounded by five white stars. Twilight has finally gained her Cutie Mark! And they couldn't have been more prouder.
Throughout the kingdom, the rain washed away the bones, ashes, and all traces of Chrysalis's reign of tyranny, as if the land itself was healing the scars left behind. And its approval of the new ruler.
Finally, making it to the balcony, Twilight stopped with the weight of the world on her shoulder. It seemed like yesterday she was just a little filly, taking a stroll with her mother and father, who would tell her that one day she would be queen. Even though Twilight knew this day would come, she never thought this day would come so soon. For Twilight, even though she remembered her parents' teachings, she still felt like she wasn't ready to be without her mother.
As Twilight looked ready to accept her responsibilities as queen, she gazed up at the hole in the clouds, where a patch of stars could be seen from the departing clouds above her. One bright star shines out briefly, as she alone hears a voice echo to her one more time.
"Remember"
Those were her mother's words that are in Twilight's mind and she has remembered who she is…
The One True Queen of Equestria!
And after hearing her mother's words, Twilight suddenly realized that she wasn't in this alone, she had her friends and family. Knowing that her friends and family will stand by her side, Twilight knew that the responsibilities as queen would not fall on her alone. After realizing she has her family and friends to support her, Twilight built up the strength within herself.
Gaining her newfound confidence and strength, Twilight smiled with pride and bravery as her horn began to glow and she did something majestic and bizarre for the first time in Alicorn History. Mustering herself, Twilight opened her mouth and released a long and loud lion-like roar, declaring herself as the new ruler of this kingdom.

Flash, Cobalt, Cadance, Celestia, Luna, the Guardians, and the other alicorns were surprised and followed her example and released their own lion-like roar, as well in reply to their queen.
Twilight lets out another lion roar as out of nowhere, even though it is still night, a Sonic Rainboom appears. Being made of magic, it was visible, and Twilight couldn't help but smile when she saw it.

2 Years Later…
Though it had taken some time, The City Of Harmony has been fully restored to its former glory, becoming colorful and fertile once more, maybe perhaps even better than ever. Green grass and fruit trees were in bloom, the creeks, lakes, and rivers flowing with fresh water, and all the ponies were no longer slaves and were finally freed.
It looked almost as if the time when Chrysalis reigned over it never even happened, though the memories of that dark age still remained. But the creatures of Equestria chose it best to not live in the past.
Not on a day like this…

All the creatures of Equestria have gathered at the Castle Of Harmony, waiting for the presentation of Twilight's new heir. Twilight and Flash had married, and the latter has become the new king of the City Of Harmony. Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie, and Rainbow Dash have decided to stay with Twilight in the City Of Harmony, being declared the Maidens of Harmony.

As the gathering of Equestrian creatures surrounds the Castle of Harmony, with Dragons roaring and shooting fire into the air and Yaks and Earth Ponies stomping their hooves, the Mane 7: Twilight, Flash, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Rarity are now standing on the balcony of the castle, looking over the crowd. And before them on either side were two newly made statues of the former leaders of the Kingdom, Cobalt and Aurora, carved in their memory.
Birds begin flying around The Mane 7 as Cadance flies around them as well before flying off.
Seeing the crowd, Rainbow Dash flew up and proudly did a loop-a-loop, Applejack humbly tipped her hat, and Rarity flipped her mane and blew a kiss gladly soaking in the attention, Fluttershy being timid merely smiled and waved nervously, as opposed to Pinkie who jumped on the railing standing on her back legs while waving her front ones happily in victory. If she had had a cannon, it would have gone off.
Twilight and Flash, both wearing their crowns and regalia and dressed like the previous King and Queen, gazed down at their royal subjects proudly.

The Magic Of Friendship!
Twilight and Flash turned to each other and shared a romantic nuzzle with each other as Zecora came up to the two while holding a newborn Alicorn foal in her arm, cradling it.
Twilight and Flash smiled at their new offspring as the foal turned and opened her eyes, revealing that she had inherited her mother's eyes and mane style and her father's coat and hair colors, the new heir to the throne, as Zecora exchanged glances with Twilight and Flash before she uses her magic and lifts the foal into the air for everyone to see the new heir as she looked at them curiously.
Signifying that The Magic Of Friendship continues on…

Author's Note: What a happy ending to the story of Queen Twilight Sparkle, huh?
After the defeat and death of Chrysalis and the end of her reign, Twilight was finally able to reclaim the throne and take her rightful place as the one true queen of her homeland. And she has her family and friends to thank, especially Zecora, who helped her find her place in the Magic Of Friendship. As Twilight ascends the Castle to take her place, she will always remember who she is...The one true queen of her kingdom.
With all the confidence and strength building up inside of her, Twilight was able to release a lion-like roar for the first time in Alicorn History, and she didn't do it alone, for her family did the same.
Thanks to Twilight defeating her traitorous aunt, everything in Equestria has returned to it's former glory and all has ended well for Twilight and her friends...
Chrysalis is now defeated and the Diamond Dogs are never to return to the kingdom again.
Twilight has taken her place and became the new Alicorn Queen.
Twilight and Flash have now married each other, with Flash becoming the new King of the kingdom.
The Mane 5, aka, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie have decided to stay with Twilight at the castle.
And Twilight's Kingdom has officially returned to it's former glory...maybe even better.
But perhaps the most amazing thing of the ending is that not only are Twilight and Flash now the King and Queen of their kingdom, but also the parents of their own foal.
Even though Twilight's story may be over, something tells me her adventure is only beginning and the Magic Friendship continues...
