Chapter 30 Spirit of Competition
Its been a week since Lin's little stunt to have Sean arrested and killed which resulted in her department being sued for about 90% of the finances they had which meant people had to be laid off because of her. (I hate doing this since I know getting laid off sucks)
And now Republic City started undoing all the laws she made that made life hell for everyone here making life better again for everyone.
Currently right now though.
Sean whistled as he watched Korra and her team practice in the Gym.
"There you are." Lois said walking to him.
"Hey Lois." Sean said as she sat down.
"So...How you handling things since the Chief tried to have you and every hero killed?" Lois asked.
"Oh I'm doing all right. Still pissed at her sure. Can't believe she's the daughter of someone famous like this world's Toph." Sean said making her grin.
"Maybe you can mess with her by having sex with our Toph and sending her the video." Lois said making him chuckle as Korra and her team hit each other and laughed.
"It's been great having you at so many back-to-back practices, Korra." Mako said.
"Feels good to be back. Though Tarrlok isn't happy about not having the League join his little task force." Korra said.
"I talked with everyone else. Most agreed they wouldn't work for him because of his methods. John on the other hand thought we should get involved if only to make sure this whole thing doesn't turn into a civil war. Which I understand. But we need more information first." Sean said.
"Okay, come on. Team Huddle time." Mako said as they huddled. "It's our first match of the tournament tonight. I know the three of us haven't been a team for very long, but even so, the fire ferrets have never been this good. Are we ready?" Mako asked.
"We're ready." Korra and Bolin said.
"Not yet you aren't." Asami said walking in.
"Hey Asami." Sean said.
"You'll need these." Asami said holding up the new gear with her father's company on them.
"These look great." Mako said impressed.
"How come you're not paying for everything now that you can use any currency?" Bolin asked.
"Hiroshi already stepped in so I didn't need to. But now that Lin's laws are null and void...I can start sending in supplies to the Department to make some real changes. Provided she doesn't try anything again once she gets back in a few days." Sean said as he headed to the Elevator while Korra packed up her bag.
"So...Korra I was hoping maybe after the matches tomorrow we could..." Bolin tried to say.
"Bolin, I'm gonna stop you right there I'm already with Sean." Korra said making him stop.

"You have feelings for her?" Asami asked.
"Yeah. I mean...She's the Avatar, Sage and the greatest woman alive. How could I not?" Bolin asked making her giggle.
Later
Sean whistled as he was getting a drink.
"Nonalcoholic I hope." Micheal said.
"I learned my lesson when I went to drink at Gramps bar when I found out the truth. The fucking Hangover was unbearable." Sean said making him chuckle.
"Yeah. Humans really need to make something that doesn't give you that in the morning after drinking." Micheal said.
"So what are you doing here?" Sean asked.
"Uh...I came to warn you." Micheal said.
"About what?" Sean asked.
"Joker is in Republic City." Micheal said.
"What? How?" Sean asked.
"He somehow got past security through the gateway to get here...And Batman is working another case so he asked me to tell you since you can't communicate between universes...Yet." Micheal said.
"Fuck." Sean said. "The person I hate the most next to her is here." Sean said.
"Like you said he's slippery. Always avoiding certain death. I have no idea how he does that." Micheal said. (And the Irony is he ends up dying because of own actions in the JLU series)
"Nor do I." Sean said.
Later at night
Everyone was gathering at the Pro bending Arena.
"Folks, after a year of waiting, the pro bending championship tournament is finally here!" The announcer said.
Sean sat in the stands to watch Korra and her team before they came out.
"Introducing our first team, the Future Industries Fire Ferrets"
Korra and her team waved at the crowd before she spotted him and blew a kiss at him making him chuckle.
"And their opponents, the red sands Rabbaroos."

"Oh they might as well forfeit" Sean said before the match started. (Honestly this fight was too easy)
And like Sean predicted Korra and her team won in less than a minute.

"That was too easy even for me." Korra said. (Which it was)
"So how bout you and I go out and celebrate." Sean said as they walked away while Bolin pouted. "And talk about our worst enemy in Gotham." Sean said confusing her.
Later
"Joker is here?" Korra asked.
"Yup." Sean said eating some noodles. "Micheal came by and told me. Bruce is on another case and told him to let us know. He got past security somehow. Then again the guy is creative." Sean said.
"Yeah no shit. Honestly how you haven't killed him yet is surprising since you've tried so many times." Korra said before spotting someone. "Oh no." Korra said.
"What?" Sean asked looking behind them seeing some guy looking at Korra. "Who's that?" Sean asked.
"Thats Tahno. Leader of the Wolfbats. The undefeated champions. Something about them bugs me." Korra said as he walked to them.
"So...How does a pretty lady end up on a team of losers?" Tahno asked.
"Beat it." Korra said as he placed a hand on her.
"Now come on. Lets be civilized. I mean why talk to this loser when you can talk to a champ?" Tahno asked.
"Ahem." Sean said getting his attention before widening his eyes seeing who he really was.
"Oh...I uh...I didn't." Tahno tried to say.
"I'm gonna enjoy this." Sean said standing up.
Tahno screamed as he was thrown out the glass window before running off in fear.
"I'll pay for that." Sean said making Korra giggle.
Later
Sean was at the docks before Asami walked up to him.
"You ok?" Asami asked.
"Uh...Not really. I got some information from my uncle...Joker is in Republic City." Sean said.
"Wait you mean that clown from Gotham City?" Asami asked.
"The very same. Whatever reason he's here though is beyond me. I can only assume he wants to move here so he can cause chaos." Sean said.
"You've stopped him before." Asami said making him look at her. "I'm the smarted person here. I know you're Beowulf." Asami said smiling making him chuckle.
"You've changed a lot since we were kids." Sean said.
"So have you. I never once dreamed you would be the CEO of the biggest company in both worlds. Much less such a famous hero." Asami said. "By the way...What exactly is your issue with Dick Greyson? I know he's clearly nightwing and no detective work to figure out who's Batman. There was a time you guys were really close. So what happened?" Asami making him sigh.
"It happened shortly after he graduated." Sean said.
Flashback 2 years ago
Robin had just found out that Barbara was actually Batgirl as they were on top of a building after just stopping Joker who once against avoided getting killed by Beowulf after the cops arrived.
"Batgirl. I still can't believe it. How could you keep something like this from me?" Robin asked.
"Excuse me? Were you honest to me about this?" Batgirl asked pointing at his emblem.
"But you told them." Robin said.
"They already knew." Batgirl said shocking him.
"It wasn't our secret to tell. And it really wasn't that difficult to figure out since she appeared when Gordon was in real trouble after all." Beowulf said.
"True." Batman said.
"But it was your place to put her in danger." Robin said.
"Oh please. We all made this choice." Sage said.
"You think we did. He Manipulates things and pulls strings. Anything to get what he wants." Robin said.
"Bullshit. He might do that to the enemy but not us. Oh yeah, he'll keep certain secrets but thats his business." Beowulf said.
"How can you constantly defend him every time?" Robin asked.
"Because I understand where he's coming from and so do you. Where would you be if he hadn't taken you in? Out on the streets being nothing but the thugs we take down. You know that." Beowulf said.
"Of course you would say that. But then again what the hell else would I expect from someone who's own uncle killed his brother's entire family in cold blood like the freaks they are." Robin said shocking him.
"DICK!" Batman yelled making him widen his eyes.
"I...Sean I...I'm sorry I didn't." Robin tried to say.

Robin groaned in pain as he looked down seeing Sean's holy sword go right through him as he glared at him with cold red eyes behind his hood as he grabbed his head as everyone was frozen in shock.
"Never...Talk to me...Again." Beowulf said pulling it out as he groaned in pain before Beowulf grew his wings and flew off as Sage used her water bending abilities to heal him.
End Flashback
"And I haven't forgiven him since." Sean said.
"Well, it sounds like he didn't mean to say that and he just let his anger take over." Asami said.
"I know he did. Doesn't make it any better though. If it wasn't for Bruce he wouldn't be who he is today nor would I and Korra. I know he can be difficult at times but I understand his reasons." Sean said as she held his hand.
"You always were the understanding type." Asami said making him smile as she kissed him making him smile holding her close before she looked behind them. "Uh oh." Asami said.
"What?" Sean asked before seeing Bolin behind them looking shocked.
"I don't believe this! You're cheating on Korra!" Bolin yelled before he used Flash's speed to rush to him and keep his mouth shut.
"Will you chill out. It's not actually cheating if she gave the idea to start a harem." Sean said making him blink.
"Come again?" Bolin asked.
"She gave the idea of me having a harem. And she has her own. All Women I might add since she swings both ways." Sean said making him blush. "If you don't believe me ask her." Sean said as he ran off.

Korra was getting her gear ready when Bolin walked in.
"Korra? Can I ask you something?" Bolin asked.
"I already told you I'm with Sean." Korra said.

"I saw him kissing Asami and he told me you gave him permission...And have your own Harem?" Bolin asked making her smile.
"Yeah thats true. It's very difficult for him to say no to me." Korra said as said man walked in.

"Ok." Bolin said leaving.
"He seems disappointed." Korra said.

Later
Sean was at the railing watching Korra and her team against the next team.
"Hello." Barbara said walking to him.
"Hey." Sean said holding her close. "What are you doing here?" Sean asked.
"Bruce and I just got done with the case we were on. So now we're looking for the Joker." Barbara said.
"He's been a no show here since I was told. If he's up to something he's keeping it real secret." Sean said.
Thats when Korra and her team won the match.
Only for the power turned off.
"What the?" Mako said.

"Tonights entertainment has been changed to something a little more chaotic. And since your Avatar has been missing for some time and there are no heroes here you'll all be my puppets." Joker said as the stadium was engulfed in green smoke shocking the crowd.
"Joker venom! Don't breathe it in." Korra said but Mako and Bolin did anyway making her growl as she ran off.
Everyone started seeing their worst nightmares and started laughing like crazy.
"This is my new Joker venom mixed in with Scarecrow's fear gas. You'll all see your worst nightmares and end up killing one another...And giving out sweet laughter." Joker said before laughing like crazy.
As people started fighting each other thats when someone started stopping them.
"WHAT!" Joker yelled before seeing Beowulf. "WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING HERE!" Joker yelled enraged as he started shooting at him but the bullets just bounced off.
"This time...I'm gonna kill you." Beowulf said as he flew at him while Joker ran off.
Sage with a breathing mask on saw the people trying to kill each other as Batgirl also appeared with her own breathing mask.
"We need to get this gas out of here." Batgirl said as Batman dropped down.
"Sage. Send all the gas outside far up into the atmosphere. It'll make it harmless. Batgirl and I will use our explosves on the glass." Batman said.
"Right." Sage said as she started airbending it into one point.
Mako and Bolin started fighting eacvh other as Bolin earth bended some earth disks at Mako making him grunt as he fell into the water.
Bolin was about to send more down on him when Batman knocked him out.
"NOW!" Batman yelled throwing his explosives at the top making it explode as Sage airbended all of the gas upwards far up into the atmosphere making it completely harmless.
Joker yelled as he was shot several times as he ran out front.
"CURSE YOU BEOWULF!" Joker yelled as he fell to his knees as Beowulf was right in front of him with his wrist blades out.
Only for the Police to arrive making him growl as the others came out.
"Why is it every fucking time I'm this close to killing him for good they always show up?" Beowulf asked.
"Bad timing." Batman said simply making him growl as Joker was being treated for gunshot wounds before being taken away.
"Does this feel a little...Random?" Sage asked.
"Meaning?" Batman asked.
"This isn't Joker's usual MO. Normally he would reveal himself later when he does something. Not right away like he did here." Sage said.
"She has a point. Something here doesn't feel right. Wheres Ecco?" Beowulf asked.
"Still in her cell at Arkham before we got here and we had ARGUS check." Batgirl said.
"So what was the point of all this?" Batman asked.
"That is what we need to find out." Beowulf said.
Later
Sean sighed as he sat down on the couch to relax.
His mind was currently thinking about the Joker and wondering if Amon was involved in this.
"I swear if Joker is working with Amon." Sean said.
"I somehow doubt that."
