Chapter 33 When Extremes meet

Its been a couple days since the League found out that Lex Luthor was supplying Amon with weapons in order to help himself gain a foothold in this universe for profit as he always does.

Thankfully Hiroshi wasn't charged with anything since he had no idea about Lex because of Beifong's laws preventing him from knowing the truth about him.

And since Lin was fired for her actions of the laws she made which resulted in the current problems they have.

So now things were tenser because everyone was waiting for Amon to strike.

Right now though.

Sean was in his penthouse going over some reports.

"There you are." Korra said walking in with her regular clothes on.

"Hey." Sean said.

"What are you doing up here. I figures you'd be outside enjoying the city. Before Amon makes things worse for everyone." Korra said.

"I'm just going over some new reports for new Members of the League." Sean said

"Oh. So you holding up after learning it was Luthor behind all this?" Korra asked.

"I should have known he was doing this crap. Only he would make something like those guns and make profit from it and have an angel for it. Hopes Amon takes down the City and then sells better and more improved weapons to the other nations to make more profit and becomes famous for it. Only he would be that greedy." Sean said.

"Yeah. Makes you wish you just killed him the last time you saw him right?" Korra asked.

"Oh I have something much worse in mind for him. Killing him is a release not a punishment." Sean said.

"Oh yeah? What do you have in mind?" Korra asked.

"Oh you'll see soon enough." Sean said.

Thats when Tenzin came up the Elevator.

"What are you doing here?" Sean asked.

"Lin's replacement, Saikan is going to be inducted as the new chief of police later. I think we should all be there." Tenzin said.

"All right. I got nothing better to do anyway." Sean said getting up.

Later

"It was an honor serving under Chief Beifong for so many years, and I wish her a speedy recovery. It is with great humility that I take her place as the new chief of police." Saikhan said.

"This fucker seems like the type that can be easily pushed around." Sean said.

"Republic City is facing a threat like none the world has ever seen. But there is one man who has been effective against Amon's revolution...Councilman Tarrlok." Saikhan said.

"And Point made exactly." Sean said.

"That is why for all matters involving the Equalists, I will report directly to him. The Police department will lend any and all available resources to the councilman and his task force until we quell this insurgency." Saikhan said.

"This idiot is just giving them a reason to hate Benders more." Turok said.

Soon enough the press left.

"Tarrlok, I don't know what you did to get Chief Saikhan in your pocket but I highly doubt it was legal." Tenzin accused making him chuckle.

"Tenzin, always the conspiracy theorist. Did you ever consider Saikhan simply recognizes my talents and wants what is best for this city?" Tarrlok questioned as Sean and the others showed up. "Ah Kruger. Now that you see that the Equalists are a true threat I look forward to seeing the League work with my Task force." Tarrlok said.

"Thats not happening." Sean said confusing him.

"Why not? You clearly see now that they are a threat. True Beifong's laws were part of the reason they joined this insurgency but." Tarrlok said.

"But nothing. Luthor is manipulating them for his own gains. He's always done that for profit. As for you." Sean said.

"Me? What have I done? I'm not the villain here." Tarrlok said.

"Maybe not. But your not a hero either. Otherwise you'd be helping these people instead of oppressing them at every turn. The League will not be helping you just so you can gain more power." Sean said as they left making him frown.

Arriving back at the Penthouse Sean sat down.

"The fucking nerve of that guy." Korra said annoyed making Sean grunt in agreement.

"Theres no denying that. So care to tell me whats bugging ya?" Sean asked making her look at him. "I know you inside and out. I know when something's bugging you so care to tell me what it is? Or do I have to do this the old fashioned way?" Sean asked making her grin.

"If by old fashioned you mean fuck me..." Korra said.

"Korra." Sean said making her giggle.

"I'm kidding. Ok." Korra said getting on his lap. "I've been getting these visions lately. I think Aang is trying to warn me about something." Korra said.

"I didn't think he could warn you about people from beyond this universe." Sean said.

"It's not about Luthor. Something during his time. Some old guy when Toph, Sokka and Aang were younger." Korra said.

"Do you think it's about Amon?" Sean asked.

"I don't know. I don't know who the old guy was." Korra said.

"If it's from his time the guy must be too old to move less be a threat. Maybe theres more to the vision than it being about one person." Sean said.

"Yeah?" Korra asked.

"Makes sense. All I can say is that we need to keep an eye on things." Sean said.

Later

Tenzin and the others were at city hall listening to Tarrlok's new proposal.

"Republic City stands as a beacon of freedom, but the equalists are using that freedom to tear it down. The Law I have proposed would make it illegal for anyone to be a member of the Equalists or even be associated with them It also puts into effect a curfew, ensuring all non-benders are in their own homes by nightfall." Tarrlok said.

"This is going too far, Tarrlok. You can't punish all non-benders for the actions of a few." Tenzin said.

"That kind of cowardice will cause our city to fall into Amon's hands. We must pass this law. All in favor?" Tarrlok asked getting all but Tenzin to agree making him grin.

Later

Sean and Korra were outside a shop after getting something to eat.

"So who exactly were you looking to join the League?" Korra asked.

"Well, actually I was hoping to make another group of younger heroes to help them learn to control their powers before they reach a certain age. This way they have a handle on things before joining us." Sean said.

"Oh I get it." Korra said before they got an alert about an Equalist rally.

"Here we go again." Sean said as they got in the car before driving off.

Arriving at the location however though was another story.

"Wait...Wheres the Power?" Korra asked.

"What the?" Sean asked as they parked.

What they saw was a large crowd of civilians yelling at the police.

"These aren't Equalists at all. They're just people." Korra said as Sean looked seeing Tarrlok making him growl as he ran to him.

"TARRLOK!" Sean yelled making him face him. "What do you think your doing?" Sean asked.

"Kruger I suggest you leave. Since you won't have the League join me I have to take matters into my own hands. This is an Equalist Rally." Tarrlok said.

"Do they look like Equalists?" Korra asked.

"Clearly this is a protest since you turned off their power. Proving my point about you once again." Sean said.

"Theres nothing innocent about them. If they don't like my choices thats not my problem. Round up all these equalists for execution!" Tarrlok said as his men were about to do just that.

"I don't think so." Superman said flying down glaring at them as the Police stood down. "You all took an oath to uphold the law and protect the innocent. ALL of them. Not just the ones people like him tell you to. So are you going to go against that oath and prove Amon right? Or are you gonna do what you all swore?" Superman asked.

Many looked at one another for a minute before they took off their badges and left.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING! I ORDER YOU TO EXECUTE THEM THIS MINUTE! I'LL HAVE YOU ALL ON DEATH'S ROW!" Tarrlok roared as only Saiken was left who was about to strike at the Civilians.

Only to get shot in the head by Regina as she and the Wolfpack arrived.

"Councilman Tarrlok." Hal Said cuffing him with his ring. "In the name of the League...You're Under Arrest for attempted murder and Genocide." Hal said as people cheered making him seethe in rage.

Later

Tarrlok was in his office with a look of pure rage.

Because of his actions his position was highly compromised and worse the police all quit their jobs after that leaving him with nothing.

They said they wouldn't work as long as he was on the council so there was a good chance he would lose his job like Lin did not long ago.

Thats when the doors opened up seeing Beowulf come in with his mask on with the blue visors glowing.

"You have some nerve you know that?" Beowulf asked making him scoff.

"What do you want now? First you refused to work with me and now your aiding the Insurgents?" Tarrlok asked before his wrist blades came out before stabbing his desk making him gasp in shock.

"Do not test me. You were gonna have innocent people killed. You were only going to prove Amon's point further and make things worse." Beowulf said.

"That is not my problem. These so called People...They made a rebellion against a Legitimate. If they don't like our laws they can leave." Tarrlok said.

"You are most disgusting person I know in this universe next to Beifong." Beowulf said making him glare as he stood up and turned around.

"You need to work with me to solve this problem. By any means necessary. If you don't...I'll make sure things for these weaklings only get worse." Tarrlok said.

"The Sheer Arrogance. I feel like I'm talking to Luthor's doubleganger. My answer is no." Beowulf said.

"You will regret that choice." Tarrlok said.

"You need to stop. Your just as bad a Amon and Luthor." Beowulf said making him glare.

"I tried to work with you. But you made it impossible." Tarrlok said before striking him with water but he remained unmoved shocking him.

"You really expect a worthless runt like you to fight me? I THINK NOT!" Beowulf yelled blasting him through the wall making him yell as he held onto the ledge.

Beowulf took out his Holy sword before trying to slash his fingers off but he let go and yelled as he fell down.

"Pathetic." Beowulf said jumping down. "I've killed monsters, Rogue Demons, Metahumans and some of the worst criminals my world has seen. You? Your nothing. Less than nothing actually." Beowulf said about to strike when he grunted as he felt his body move against his will.

"Your in my way Freak." Tarrlok said holding his hands out.

"You...Bloodbend?" Beowulf asked.

"Thats right. And once I kill you I'm certain Luthor will hand over any weapon I ask for to end this insurgency." Tarrlok said.

"Too bad your fired." Tenzin said shocking him as the Council and the League were in the room.

"What...But..." Tarrlok tried to say as Beowulf stopped struggling and dusted himself off.

"You really think you could actually use bloodbending on me so easily. Sage does a better job ten times over than you." Beowulf said.

"We knew you had to be hiding something. And this confirmed it." Tenzin said.

"Not only will this further prove Amon's point but it also proves the Council is untrustworthy as well once this information comes to light. Since unlike you I don't lie." Beowulf said making him narrow his eyes.

"You don't...Kruger?" Tarrlok asked making him look at him as he took off his mask.

"How did you figure that out?" Sean asked.

"You always say that. It all makes sense now. The Famous CEO is Beowulf. So Beifong was right." Tarrlok said.

"On unfound and unproven claims. But it matters not." Sage said as his Wrist blades came out.

"AHHH!" Tarrlok screamed as he took his head off.

Later

Sean placed Tarrlok's skull on his collection rack next to Jax-Ur and the City Hunter.

"You know your Father only had one Human skull in his entire collection." Wolf said behind him making him face him.

"Only one?" Sean asked.

"It was the skull of a man he despised so greatly during the Revolutionary war. A British colonel who murdered a friend of his in cold blood without any hesitation." Wolf said.

"Who?" Sean asked.

"As I recall his name was Colonel William Tavington." Wolf said. (I do plan to do the Patriot at some point)

Later

"So as it turns out Korra's visions was Aang warning her about Tarrlok since apparently he's Yakone's son." Sean said.

"That would explain how he did so without a full moon. Yakone was the only one who could do so 42 years ago." Tenzin said.

"But Tarrlok was 40 years old and Yakone was imprisoned 42 years ago. The timing doesn't add up. The Logical answer is Yakone somehow got free and then changed his face and identity. Then started a family." Batman said.

"Most likely." Tenzin said.

"So what do we do now?" John asked.

"We have to release this intel to the Public. We can't keep this a secret." Sean said.

"But it will only prove Amon right even more." Hawkgirl said.

"Maybe. But if we keep this secret and people find out we knew...It'll make things even worse. Being truthful in matters like this is a better option rather than say nothing." Sean said.

"I'm afraid he's right. We have to." Superman said.

"I don't think thats a good idea." Nightwing said.

"Good thing no one gives a shit about what you think." Sean said making him sigh.

Authors Note: I'm just gonna leave things here since I'm exhausted from work. I do have a nice Lemon for Chapter 35 though so don't worry.
