Chapter 37 In Blackest night
Its been a month since the Devil from another universe arrived and tried to conquer this universe.
Only for Sean's God Slayer counterpart to arrive and took him down with little to no effort since he was extremely vulnerable due to his power being diminished greatly.
And then they learned a bigger threat was coming and other universes were already allied because of it.
So for now they waited for them to show up.
Sean was in his office going over some new weapons projects.
After Luthor's stunt made him lose most of his government contracts Sean had picked them all up and got more decent and safe results.
Thats when the doors opened up.
"Hey there handsome."
Sean chuckled looking up seeing one of his newest interns from Gotham High known as Dana Tan. She had white skin long black hair reaching her back with black eyes in a blue dress. she had small but developing breasts and hips.
"Hey Dana." Sean said signing a paper for a new contract.
"So how are things going since you reveled yourself?" Dana asked making him smirk.
It was a running joke in the company that the best hero on Earth was the big boss of the company for some time.
Now actually being confirmed was ironic that the joke was actually true.
"need something?" Sean asked.
"Yeah. Ivy needs this signed for her new plant project." Dana said giving him the paper.
"Thank you." Sean said.
"So how you handling the fact that your little secret is out?" Dana asked amused.
"I got nothing to hide. Besides it made Amon's whole revolution fall apart since he lied to people about his powers. And further more we found out that Amon actually killed Hiroshi's wife to get him to join his little cause. Problem is though because of Bruce's little talk with him 13 years ago that didn't go as planned." Sean said.
"That makes sense. Try to convince the smartest man in your universe to join by having his wife killed by the people he hates to prove a point." Dana said.
"I honestly thought Luthor did for a time but I guess it makes more sense that Amon did it to get what he wanted. Had to wait though because things were lookin good until Beifong screwed everybody over with her stupid laws." Sean said.
"How did she get those laws passed down by the way? Don't all laws have to be approved by the Government?" Dana asked.
"Well, technically she used loopholes to get them in without their consent. But now the Government is being reorganized to our system. A president will be elected to take leadership of Republic City. But that won't be for a year at best." Sean said.
Thats when an Alert came up.
"Oh now what?" Sean asked before seeing the monitor showing three robots facing off against Hawkgirl, Kid Flash, Sage and J'onn.
"Into the fray yet again." Dana said as Sean got his gear.
Later
Hawkgirl yelled as she tried to smash one of the robots before getting punched back.
Sage yelled as she air bended them back as one tried to blast her.
Only for Beowulf to deflect it.
"What took you so long?" Sage asked.
"Real funny. Who the hell are these guys?" Beowulf asked.
"I have no idea. They just showed up out of nowhere and demanded we hand of John for some reason." Sage said as they tried to blast them but Beowulf aimed his Plasma Caster at him and blew him up.
Aiming at the other two they stopped.
"Hold."
"Who are you guys?" Beowulf asked annoyed.
"Are you the one known as Beowulf?"
"I am. Who are you?" Beowulf asked.
"We are known as the manhunters. We have come for the one known as the Green Lanter. John Stewart." The Leading Manhunter said.
"For what? Is he in some kind of trouble?" Sage asked.
"He is a wanted criminal for the destruction of an entire planet." The Leader said shocking them.
"Whoa wait a minute. How could he destroy an entire planet?" Beowulf asked.
"It doesn't matter." John said flying down to them.
"What are you doing?" Sage asked as he handed his ring to them before being cuffed and teleported away.
"Something is not right. How could John destroy a whole planet?" Hawkgirl asked.
"He couldn't. Even his ring doesn't have that kind of power." Beowulf said.
Later
Beowulf and the others arrived at a trial to see what this was about.
Apparently the Witness was some pirate who smuggled weapons claiming John has hit his shield and the blast hit a planet fault line.
Claiming it in turn caused the planet to destroy itself.
Beowulf looked at the devastation and frowned.
"Hold it!" Beowulf yelled jumping down.
"This is a Tribunal you must not..." One of the judges said.
"Listen to me. There is no way Lantern did what your accusing him of. Those rings aren't that powerful to destroy a planet even if they hit a fault line. I've studied them for some time now. They're powerful sure but not that powerful." Beowulf said.
"And yet the devastation is right there." Another Judge said.
"Thats another thing I think people aren't seeing. If the planet was actually destroyed...Why is the Gravity field still there?" Beowulf asked confusing them.
"I...I beg your pardon?" A female Judge asked.
"The Gravity field is still there. My Visor sees it clear as day. And it's more clear cause the Moon is still there." Beowulf said.
"Thats right. If the planet was actually destroyed the moon would have drifted away from the planet. But it's still there." Sage said making everyone murmur.
"Yes...That is true. How curious. One moment." One of the Judges said vanishing.
John yelled as Beowulf hit him.
"What was that for?" John asked.
"For being an idiot. Why didn't you say anything?" Beowulf asked.
"I honestly thought I destroyed the planet by accident. I didn't see what you did." John said.
"Yeah. Just like you jumped the gun about Hiroshi. Your too quick to make calls. You need outside opinions before you do anything. Moron." Sean said.
"Ok thats fair." John said before suddenly the planet reappeared shocking everyone as the judges came back.
"The Lantern corp has found evidence of foul play. A device was projecting a false image of the planet's destruction. John Stewart is found not guilty." The Judges said releasing him before he recalled his ring.
"I don't get it. Why would someone frame John for a crime?" Sage asked before Beowulf looked at the Man Hunters but saw they were long gone.
"I think those Manhunters were behind this. I sensed a great amount of hatred from them. I think the Guardians know something." Beowulf said.
Later
"Yes. We know the Man hunters. We designed them long ago." One of the Guardians said.
"When?" John asked.
"Long before before the Lanterns. We believed Robots were a better option in the beginning. Sadly they were flawed. They could not tell the difference between good or evil."
"Well, Machines don't exactly have emotions so it's not unexpected." Sean said.
"Indeed. So we reprogramed them for lesser duties. They didn't seem to object."
"Not out loud." Korra said.
"But they suddenly vanished for some reason." Hawkgirl said.
"Maybe their working for someone else and was part of a much grander scheme." Korra said.
"Maybe." Sean said.
Meanwhile
"I told you that plan was going to fail from the start."
"We believed it was worth the effort." The Leader of the Manhunters said.
"Remember our deal. You do what I say. And in return you will eventually get what you want and more.
"Yes...I understand...Grendel." The Leader said.
Meanwhile
"You are an idiot." Reznov said to John who sighed.
"Ok I get it. I screwed up. Not like anyone else here hasn't done the same thing." John said.
"Not as bad as you do. You always jump the gun. You blindly accused Hiroshi of being allied with Amon despite not having enough physical evidence other than someone saying so." Julia said.
"Are we sure you didn't steal that ring to become a lantern because I was under the impression they made good choices." Turok said making his eyes twitch while Sean snickered.
"I'm not laughing." John said.
"I am." Sean said.
"Seriously. For someone who used to be a Marine back in the day you sure are dumb. You give Jarheads a bad name." Toph said making his eyes twitch more.
"At least I'm not blind." John said giving her the finger.
"Says the guy giving me the finger." Toph said shocking him.
"She doesn't need sight to see you moron. She can sense movements from the ground. Even in space up here she can still sense what you're doing." Sean said.
"She's exactly like the Toph from my universe in her prime." Korra said.
"Ok I get it." John said.
"All right." Sean said.
Later
Sean arrived in his Penthouse in Metropolis before he sat down.
"I swear. One of these days I need a vacation." Sean said.
"How bout we just relax a little."
Sean looked behind him seeing Karasuba in the nude grinning at him.
"Hello my beautiful sword lady." Sean said making her giggle as she took off his clothes till he was bare as her.
