Chapter 40 Tremors After Shocks
Its been a month since the Injustice League was taken down thanks to Humanite who was a secret operative of the Wolf Pack.
And now Sean owned Lex Corp thanks to healing Luthor's illness for the price of 30% of his company not knowing Sean had recently bought 30% before the events.
So Now Asami was in Charge of the company and in the Process of renaming it to Legacy Tech to give it a new start.
Right now though.
"Fuck!" Sean said annoyed that his power were shut down once again. "The real drag of losing my powers is when I need them the most." Sean said making Amanda chuckle.
"True but new powers show up so thats a bonus to it." Amanda said as someone walked in.
"And you get some time off."
Sean looked up seeing Goddess making Amanda frown.
"The hell are you doing here?" Amanda asked.
"It's all right. We're on...Stable terms. What are you doing here?" Sean asked.
"I came when I heard your powers shut off again. Why do they do that?" Goddess asked.
"It's part of a defense system. When his body encounters something new it builds a resistance to it and shuts down all his powers to do so while also awakening new powers." Amanda said.
"Oh. Well I was hoping that perhaps you and I could spend some time together real quick." Goddess said.
"Well..." Sean tried to say before Lyla came in.
"I hate to break this up but theres someone here who really needs to see you. Someone named Ortega from the Mexican Oil company." Lyla said.
"I thought all Oil companies were beginning to shut down." Korra said.
"They are because I'm helping converting Oil companies into clean energy companies. This way they don't go completely out of business costing people their jobs. Did he say why?" Sean asked.
"No. Just that he needs to see you." Lyla said.
Heading into a meeting room they found Ortega.
"Señor Kruger." Ortega said shaking his hand.
"Mr. Ortega. So...What brings you all the way out to DC?" Sean asked.
"I came because there is a situation that requires your skills. Regarding something you faced about 4 years ago." Ortega said.
"Your gonna have to be specific." Korra said.
"We've recently had to shut down one of the new facilities that you helped make. Several workers have been killed. We have now determined they were killed by certain...Large Underground animals." Ortega said making Sean widen his eyes leaning forward from his chair.
"Graboids." Sean said.
"Wait...You mean those Large worms you two killed in Perfection?" Lyla asked.
"The Very same." Ortega said.
"Um...When did this happen?" Sean asked.
"A couple days ago. The Company is facing serious delays but more importantly there are many isolated people in the Region. Many lives are in great danger. We need someone...An Expert to eliminate these creatures." Ortega said.
"Could you give us a minute?" Amanda asked as Lyla escorted him out.
"Fuck. The worst timing I fucking swear." Sean said.
"What are Graboids?" Goddess asked.
"Giant Underground worms with three snake like tongues. There were four of them four years ago in Perfection Nevada. I killed one and so did Korra and Eda's father Killed one as well and the other rammed itself into a stone wall killing itself." Sean said making her frown.
"Oooh." Goddess said.
"I can't just sit by and do nothing." Sean said.
"But none of us have our powers since these are back on again." Korra said showing her wrist bands were green again.
"No. But you do have every weapon you could need to kill them." Amanda said.
"Mmm. See if you can get Cisco and Roy down here for this so we can have some help. Along with Turok and Eda." Sean said. (Sora...I question your intelligence so much. Eda is from Black Lagoon I just changed her last name you moron. Do you even bother to read the Harem Lists?)
"I'll come along. At the least we can spend time together." Goddess said.
"Ok. But you seriously need to pick a name. It's gonna be awkward for people to constantly call you Goddess." Sean said.
"Um..." Goddess tried to say.
"How bout Charlotte." Korra suggested.
"I can work with that." Charlotte said.
"Ok let's get this shit over with. The Sooner we kill these things the better." Sean said.
Later
Sean in an aircraft carrying two trucks arrived at the refinery before they were dropped off before it left.
"So what are these things anyway?" Roy asked.
"Giant carnivorous worms. We killed four of them in Perfection 4 years ago." Sean said before a man started speaking Spanish to them.
"Welcome. You all made great time." Ortega said approaching them. "This is Pedro the Company's chief engineer. I have all the equipment over here. Oh and I have some good news. We are willing to double the price if you can capture one of the animals alive." Ortega said.
"Alive? I don't think thats possible." Sean said.
"It is only a suggestion." Ortega said.
"Hey if we can get double the price I say we try." Eda said.
"Not happening period." Sean said opening a crate full of explosives.
"Whats with the Toy trucks?" Cisco asked picking one up.
"How else do you think we're gonna get them to swallow these?" Sean asked picking up an explosive.
"Oh I get it. Gonna lure them in with the noise these things make and when they swallow we blow them up." Roy said.
"Yup." Sean said before seeing a red head with tan akin and green eyes wearing simple white t-shirt and blue shorts. She also had large breasts and a bubble butt.
"Let me introduce you to Kiva Andru. She's a robotic engineer here who was working on some new machines to help with the energy project." Ortega said.
"Nice to meet you." Kiva said shaking his hand.
"Likewise." Sean said before someone drove by them and parked.
"It's all set up."
"This is Julio. He's been setting up the seismographs. It'll help you keep track of the creatures. Best of Luck." Ortega said leaving.
"So how many are there?" Eda asked making him sigh.
"A lot more than the last time you encountered them. 150." Julio said making Sean widen his eyes.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Sean asked.
"Regretfully no." Julio said.
"We got enough explosives down here for that." Cisco said seeing the crates.
"Fuck." Sean said.
Later
Kiva was looking at some fossils when Sean walked in.
"Hey." Sean said.
"Hey. Need something to drink?" Kiva asked.
"Uh Soda. I don't drink the strong stuff." Sean said getting him one. "So...How many are you here?" Sean asked.
"Just the three of us. Six workers got killed. People I knew." Kiva said.
"So why'd you stay? You ain't scared?" Sean asked.
"Course I am. But I'm also fascinated. And when that happens I tend to stay." Kiva said pulling up a map of the Area. "This is where the Graboids killed the workers. They mostly stayed in that area. Who named them that anyway?" Kiva asked making him scoff.
"A friend of ours named Walter Chang named them that...Then they ate him." Sean said before Cisco came out with a chain attached to loud objects.
"Check this out." Cisco said excited.
"What the hell is that?" Sean asked amused.
"It'll help attract them to us. They hunt by sound right?" Cisco asked making him scoff in amusement.
"Oh good lord. Go attach it to the trucks." Sean said as he left making Kiva giggle.
Next morning
Everyone was heading out to take down the Graboids.
"Ok so lets get this straight. There are 150 worms out there and we got to kill them all. And in return for each dead worm we get 50,000 dollars." Sean said.
"Sounds easy enough." Korra said.
"Doubtful. We got enough explosives but we don't know everything about the worms. We never got the chance because they were killing people and we had to kill them and fast. Now theres more. So we gotta be prepared for the worst." Sean said.
"True enough." Korra said as they came to a clearing.
"Ok. We'll take the east and you guys take the West. We meet back at the Refinery at sundown. I don't want us out here during the dark." Sean said.
"Got it." Roy said as they split up With Sean having Korra, Charlotte and Eda while Cisco, Roy and Turok went another way.
Sean continued to drive around for a minute before the monitor showed one in the area.
"There we go." Sean said stopping as he got in the back getting the equipment ready while Charlotte got the detonator. "Careful with that. Mess it up and we all blow up." Sean said.
"What happened to simply lighting it?" Charolette asked.
"You'll see why this is better." Sean said.
Soon a little toy car was driving around the place away from them.
"I hope this works." Charolette said.
"Course it will." Sean said.
Soon the Graboid came up and ate it.
"Oh...I forgot how disgusting those things were." Charolette said.
"What?" Sean asked.
"Nothing." Charolette said as Sean detonated the explosives.
BOOM!
"YEAH! Easy money baby!...OH SHIT!" Eda yelled as she went for an Umbrella but got hit a little as Sean and the others had one each.
"Told ya." Sean said.
"I forgot." Eda said opening it as one last piece hit Korra's.

Cisco and the others were by an Oil tower with Umbrellas opened up before.
BOOM!
"HAHAHA!" Turok yelled.
"Wow!" Cisco yelled.
BOOM!
"YEAH!" Sean yelled.
"Boys." Charolette said amused.
"What?" Sean asked.
BOOM!
Cisco howled as he blew up another.
"Oh brother." Roy said rolling his eyes.
BOOM!

"Seriously why do humans think explosions are impressive?" Charolette asked Korra making her shrug.
"Why does Man Like Fire so much?" Korra asked making her smirk.
"One good question deserves another." Charolette said.

After a while Everyone was up on a rock having lunch listening to music.
Thats when a Graboid ate the Radio since it was on the ground surprising them.
"Who left the Radio on the Ground?" Korra asked.
"Ooops." Turok said making Sean scoff.
Next day
Sean was driving the toy truck before it got eaten.
"Finally." Korra said blowing it up.
"HA!" Turok yelled.
"Told you one stick was enough." Korra said.
"That makes one million dollars. We've killed 20 of these things so far." Eda said.
"Yup." Sean said pulling out his phone.
"So what are you gonna do with all that money?" Charolette asked her Grandson.
"Oh thats easy. Give it to all my employees as one big Christmas Bonus." Sean said making her smile.
"You care about the people who work for you don't you?" Charolette asked.
"I ever tell you why I got into this business gig in the first place?" Sean asked.
"No." Charolette said.
"Bruce told me about his parents how they made a difference in Gotham back in the day. They cared about the people and those who worked for them. It inspired me to make my company following the same principles." Sean said.
"I think they would be proud of you." Charolette said as Cisco's umbrella flew away.
"I know what I'm doing with my money. Investing some new equipment for Star Labs." Cisco said.
"I give you billions of dollars every year for that stuff. Get off the ground." Sean said.
"This is more for personal..." Cisco tried to say before they heard music.
"The hell?" Korra asked.
"I know that song." Cisco said before the Monitor beeped.
"SHIT!" Sean yelled seeing one coming in fast. "GET OFF THE FUCKING GROUND!" Sean roared as it came up next to him.
"AHHHH!" Cisco screamed getting in his truck.
"Holy shit you dumbass." Turok said.
"Uh...boys?" Charolette said.
"What?" Roy asked before looking down seeing seeing it snagged the chain Cisco made.
"Oh shit." Sean said.
"It snagged the fucking chain." Eda said as it started pulling slowly.
"Can it do that?" Cisco asked as Roy got int he driver seat.
"It can't be that strong." Turok said as it started dragging them despite Roy was trying to move forward but nothing worked. "Son of a Bitch!" Turok yelled.
"HIT THE BREAKS!" Cisco yelled.
"I am! I did! It doesn't work!" Roy yelled.
"Goddamnit!" Sean yelled getting in the driver seat following them. "This is why I hate these worms!" Sean yelled as he followed them.
"Guys! What do we do!" Cisco yelled.
"Blast them!" Sean yelled.
"I can't! I don't have the Gauntlets to help!" Cisco said.
"Oh you can't be fucking serious!" Eda yelled as Turok got an assault riffle out trying to shoot it but nothing worked.
Thats when they noticed they were heading for a cliff.
"CLIFF!" Cisco yelled.
"Oh man." Sean said moving faster.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Cisco screamed before it suddenly stopped.
"Oh thank you." Turok said.
"It knows theres a cliff in front of it because it can sense it through vibrations." Korra said.
Thats when it started moving to the right.
"Oh shit." Turok said as it pulled them again.
"Here we go again." Sean said following them as they were dragged with it.
Thats when Cisco noticed a big rock in front of them.
"ROCK!" Cisco yelled.
"HE'S GOING UNDER IT!" Sean yelled.
"Oh fuck." Turok said as the hit making him and Cisco bounce up as the chain broke right off while the Graboid left.
"Ow." Cisco said holding his head before Turok punched his shoulder. "OW! What was that for?" Cisco asked.
"For making that stupid thing!" Turok yelled as they got out. "God. That hurt." Turok said as Sean parked next to them.
"You guys all right?" Sean asked.
"I think so. But the truck is busted." Roy said.
"Just get everything you have and bring it over here. We're lucky that was the only problem we faced." Eda said.
"Uh yeah...You might wanna rethink that." Charolette said seeing a lot of them on the monitor heading for them.
Everyone in one truck they headed back.
"We're gonna need some help." Sean said.
"Help? Who'd be crazy enough to help us with this?" Cisco asked.
Meanwhile in Perfection
In a home a couple were watching a movie when the phone rang.
"I got it." He said answering it. "Yeah?"
"Hey Dad. It's Eda." Eda said.
"Eda?" Burt said surprised as he put her on Speaker. "We haven't heard from you in a while." Burt said.
"Hey Honey." Heather said.
"Hey Mom. Listen, we're down in Mexico dealing with a bad situation we thought we could handle by our selves but it's proving to be more difficult than we thought." Eda said.
"I'm not working with the CIA." Burt said.
"This has nothing to do with the CIA. It's just me Sean and a few others." Eda said.
"What kind of problem?" Burt asked.
"Uh...Graboids." Eda said shocking him.
Later
Sean and the others were at the Refinery to relax for a bit.
"You checking on that monitor?" Sean asked Roy.
"Yeah. They're just staying up north." Roy said.
While they were getting something to eat Kiva was examining a fossil before noticing one had a spike in it that looked like the kind the Graboids had.
"Hey." Kiva said getting their attention.
"What is it?" Korra asked.
"Take a look at this." Kiva said getting them to look. "I've been looking at this fossil for a week and I just realized what it is." Kiva said.
"Doesn't that look like one of the spikes on their sides?" Cisco asked.
"Sure as hell looks that way." Roy said.
"It is. I think for sure this is a fossil fragment of a Graboid." Kiva said.
"Wait a second. This is important isn't it? In the four years we've known about them Science has yet to determine their origin." Korra said.
"Yup." Sean said.
"And thats true. But it's more complicated than that. This is Precambrian rock." Kiva said.
"What?" Sean asked shocked.
"What does that mean?" Roy asked.
"It means this is one of the oldest life forms on the planet." Kiva said.
"Wait a sec. Not older than Dinosaurs?" Turok asked.
"Way before them." Kiva said.
Sean looked at Charolette after that.
"Thats what you meant by you forgot how disgusting they were. You knew what they were." Sean said.
"Well, of course I did. I'm the one who made them." Charolette said.
"What?" Sean asked shocked.
"They were originally meant for something else but they turned into what you're seeing. I don't even know how they are still around." Charolette said.
"So that means they are from Earth." Korra said.
"Yeah." Kiva said.
"HA!" Korra yelled pointing at Sean. "I told you so Mr. who thought they were from space. I win the bet. In your face!" Korra yelled triumphant making him groan.
"Thanks a lot." Sean said to Charolette making her giggle before the monitor beeped showing a Graboid was heading straight for them.
"Whoa!" Cisco yelled as the room shook a little as Sean looked outside before smirking.
"It ain't no Graboid. Something even more dangerous." Sean said as they went outside.
Outside a large military truck parked as everyone came outside before Burt came out.
"Monster HQ I Presume." Burt said.
"Hey Dad." Eda said hugging him.
"Hey hon. You look good. Even if your CIA." Burt said making her scoff.
"What he doesn't like CIA?" Cisco asked.
"No he just hates the Government in General. And not without good reason." Sean said. (This is why I made Eda Burt's daughter cause I find it Hilarious he hates the government so much and yet has a daughter who works for the CIA. Talk about Irony)
"Jesus. What you got in this thing?" Turok asked getting in the back.
"Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey!" Burt said pulling him down. "ARGUS gave me this truck. And a few little items on my wish list." Burt said showing the back was full of high level explosives.
"HO!" Cisco yelled.
"Little much don't you think?" Kiva asked.
"Do you not know this guy?" Korra asked.
"Boys." Charolette said.
"What?" Sean asked.
"Makes my home made stuff look like Cherry bombs." Burt said.
"What they were short on low explosives?" Roy asked.
"You guys have everything you need and you take a few cases of dynamite and a few assault riffles?" Burt asked.
"At the time we had no idea there were so many here so it seem like a good idea to have less." Sean said.
"So where's Mom?" Eda asked.
"She stayed behind since she doesn't want to be anywhere near those things again. Anyway I got you some new equipment." Burt said pulling out double riffles.
"Shotguns? Little hunter style don't you think?" Korra asked.
"Not Shotguns. Double Riffles. Elephant guns." Burt said.
"The hell is this thing?" Eda asked seeing some shell like object.
"Might end up in my collection. And this." Burt said pulling out a large riffle.
"The hell is this?" Turok asked.
"An Anti Tank gun." Burt said.
"Anti Tank?" Sean asked amused.
"Bullet is Bronze cast from your company." Burt said making him scoff.
"Man you put a whole new shine on the word over kill." Sean said.
2 days later
Sean and the others had killed off a large number of the Graboids nearly finish with all of them.
Right now Sean and his group was cleaning the truck while Burt and Eda were out killing the rest of the Graboids.
Thats when they heard a loud explosion from miles away.
"Wow. He doesn't hold back." Roy said.
"Man is a walking nuke." Sean said.
"Yo! We got another one." Burt said on the Radio as Sean got it.
"No shit Burt. We heard it clear from miles." Sean said.
"Damndest thing, too. It had a huge chain sticking out of his mouth." Burt said making Cisco widen his eyes.
"Damn!" Cisco said going to the radio. "Burt that one was mine!" Cisco yelled.
"Oh, yeah, Son? I didn't see your name on it. Over and out." Burt said making him groan.
"Why did you invite him anyway?" Cisco asked making him chuckle.
Thats when the Monitor beeped.
"Hold that thought." Sean said seeing one.
"We got another...Hold up." Cisco said seeing it was moving away from them. "It's moving away?" Cisco asked.
"Get in." Sean said as they got in.
Sean drove the truck after it seeing it still moving away.
"The hell is the matter with him? We're making plenty of noise." Cisco said honking the horn but Sean stopped him.
"I don't like it. Last time they did something like this they dug a trench for us. They get smarter." Sean said.
Arriving at the top they noticed it was out of the ground roaring.
"HOLY!" Sean yelled as it landed on top of the hood as Sean backed up and fell backwards as everyone jumped out.
"FUCKING CHRIST HOW COULD THAT HAPPEN!" Sean yelled going to the guns.
"Where the hell is he? He should be all over us." Korra said before they heard it bellowing.
"Thats new." Sean said loading his gun up.
Thats when Cisco got one of the toy cars.
"What are you doing?" Charlotte asked.
"I wanna test something real quick." Cisco said as he ran up.
"GRRR." Sean growled as he followed.
Arriving back at the spot Cisco looked over a rock.
"He's still there." Cisco said as Sean aimed his Gun and Plasma Caster at it while Roy had his bow ready.
However it wasn't moving much. Just up on the surface.
"The hell is it doing?" Roy asked.
"I don't know. You made them what do you think?" Sean asked Charolette.
"I don't even remember the basics about these things." Charolette said as Cisco put the toy down and moved it towards the worm but it didn't do anything.
"Well, something is wrong with him. Must be sick." Korra said.
"Probably ate something that didn't agree with him." Turok said as Cisco rushed in and smacked it making it growl.
"Damnit Cisco!" Sean yelled as it started sputtering.
"Relax. It ain't going anywhere." Cisco said.
"You realize we just captured one alive right?" Roy asked.
"How are we supposed to carry him? We wrecked the truck." Sean said.
"Call Kiva and tell her to ask Pedro to come and get us and it." Cisco said making him sigh going back.
Later
Late during the night everyone was on the rocks listening to the night sounds.
Thats when they heard explosions in the distance.
"Jesus. Damn he got himself another one." Cisco said.
"Man never sleeps." Sean said as five more explosions went off making him scoff.
"Guys. Burt here. Doing a little night fishing. Got six of them on a cluster charge. I'd say we're all about even now. Over." Burt said as Sean grabbed the Radio.
"This ain't a competition. I just want these things dead." Sean said.
"So do I. I'm just saying the score is tied thats all." Burt said as Cisco grabbed it.
"Well, son. No it ain't. Cause we just caught ourselves a live one. How bout that?" Cisco asked.
"WHAT! How the fuck..." Eda tried to ask.
"Thats a little trade secret. Consider it payback for taking my worm. Happy hunting, Gun freaks." Cisco said hanging up making Sean and the others burst out laughing.
"Now his burned his tight skinny ass!" Sean laughed before the Graboid roared shocking them.
"What the?" Korra said making Sean frown.
"Are they supposed to do that?" Roy asked.
"How the hell am I supposed to know?" Sean asked as it started roaring loudly.
"Maybe something is trying to eat it." Cisco said.
"What do I care?" Sean asked.
"Come on. We gotta protect our investment incase this happens again so we'll know more. We can't just sit here." Cisco said as it roared louder than ever. "Jeez! Listen to it. Imagine if it was Komodo or Naga." Cisco said making him frown before sighing.
"All right. Lets have a look." Sean said getting his gun.
Arriving back at where it was they widened their eyes.
"What?" Korra asked.
The worm was still there but it had a massive hole in it.
"Something ate it." Cisco said.
"In two minutes?" Roy asked.
"Well, something happened to it. Because there is nothing left inside." Cisco said.
Sean went closer looking inside.
"What is it?" Charolette asked.
"Something ate it alright. From the inside." Sean said.
"What?" Charolette asked.
"See these three sacks?" Sean asked looking at them. "Signs show they were opened up from the inside. You sure you don't remember anything about them?" Sean asked.
"Nope. This was way before Humans. You think I'm gonna remember that far back?" Charolette asked.
"Fair. But whatever came out of this was no sweet little butterfly." Sean said as they walked back to the truck. "Fucking worms never cut you any slack." Sean said.
Heading back to the truck Sean got on the Radio.
"Kiva?" Sean asked.
"Yeah." Kiva said.
"Listen. Call out to Pedro and tell him to clear out. Theres something going on out here with the Worms." Sean said but only got static. "Kiva?" Sean asked but got nothing making him growl. "Unbelievable. The Radio is out. How can that be? I was just talking to her!" Sean yelled pissed off as another Graboid started roaring shocking them.
"Oh boy. You know what that is." Cisco said.
"Another one is doing it." Sean said.
"Hey." Korra said seeing Pedro's truck.
"Finally." Sean said only to see him stop. "Oh come on." Sean said.
"Well...He's not that far. We might as well walk." Roy said.
"Walk? Are you crazy?" Turok asked.
"He's right. Better to stay on the move away from here. Especially with whatever came out of those worms is close." Sean said getting his gear.
Arriving at Pedro's truck however they were shocked to see it torn apart.
"What the hell happened here?" Korra asked.
"Looks like someone took a can opener to the damn thing." Sean said.
"But where's Pedro?" Cisco asked before seeing some hands behind the truck. "Oh there he is." Cisco said going to the back. "Pedro?" Cisco asked but widened his eyes only seeing his arms with everything else gone. "Oh my god. Oh my God!" Cisco yelled in shock.
"What?" Sean asked before seeing it. "Shit. Whatever came out of those worms got to him." Sean said.
"Now what?" Korra asked before seeing the radio tower. "Ok. We head to that tower and call in to ARGUS and get some help. We have no idea what we're up against." Korra said.
"Right." Sean said.
Arriving at the Radio tower however they found it a mess seeing all the radio equipment destroyed.
"Oh no. Don't tell me thats the radio equipment." Cisco asked sitting in a chair. "Can't we ever get a GODDAMN BREAK!" Cisco yelled kicking some parts.
"We get out of this all alive I count that as a break." Roy said.
"I mean there was no one even here to eat. They're doing this on Purpose. THEIR CUTTING US OFF ON PURPOSE!" Cisco yelled kicking everything losing it as Sean restrained him.
"Calm down. I told you they get smarter. And so do we." Sean said looking around before spotting a truck making him smirk. "Lucky mom taught me how to Hotwire a car." Sean said rushing to it opening it with it unlocked before getting to work.
Only to hear some strange noises.
"Get over here." Korra said.
"What is that?" Cisco asked.
"I don't know but it's coming this way." Roy said as they got ready seeing some beams moving up and down.
"How big is this thing?" Turok asked as they got ready.
Only for something no bigger than a Normal dog to appear.
"What the hell is that?" Cisco asked as it just had a long tongue hang out of its mouth.
"Thats it?" Korra asked.
"Sure as hell ain't no Air Bison." Sean said.
"How the hell does a 30 foot worm turn into that little thing?" Roy asked.
"Shut up. It might hear us." Sean said as it looked at them.
And then the top of it's head opened up showing some red organ.
"What the?" Korra said as it closed before screaming at them.
"Fuck! It heard us." Sean said aiming his Plasma Caster at it and killed it.
"Nice shot." Cisco said as they went to examine it.
"Now I remember these things." Charolette said.
"Sure. Now you do." Korra said.
"No eyes like the worms." Sean said.
"What was that thing on its head?" Turok asked.
"Maybe we should take it with us and study it." Cisco said.
"Are you nuts?" Sean asked before they heard more noises making them rush to the care.
Sean quickly got it working before they drove off as more screamed at them.
Meanwhile
Eda sighed as she and her father parked.
"We're lost aren't we?" Eda asked.
"No...Just need to get my bearings." Burt said looking at a map.
Thats when they heard a thud making them look seeing one of the creatures on the hood.
"WHAT THE!" Eda yelled as more showed up.
Later
Sean and the others drove to the Refinery all night.
"What the hell is going on? They've never done this." Korra said.
"To be fair we killed them quickly. Clearly they have some metamorphosis cycle to turn into these things." Sean said as he drove.
"So what are they?" Roy asked.
"I don't know." Sean said as they arrived before seeing another eating who they guessed was Julio making Sean get out quick. "Son of a BITCH!" Sean yelled blasting making it squeal in pain.
"Shit." Turok said as Sean rushed inside finding Kiva making her sigh in relief.
"Kiva." Sean said rushing to her.
"The hell are those things?" Kiva asked.
"We have no idea. The worms changed into these. They wrecked the Radio towers." Sean said.
"Did Pedro find you?" Kiva asked.
"No. They jumped him before he could get to us." Sean said making her let out a shuddering breath. "What about Burt and Eda?" Sean asked.
"No. I don't know. I've been trying to call all of you last night." Kiva said.
"We need to get out of here and warn ARGUS and the League about this." Korra said.
"Right. If Burt and Eda survived and I know they did they'll do the same." Sean said as they went outside.
Only to see one of the creatures tearing Their engine apart.
"Are you fucking Kidding me!" Sean yelled blasting it.
"They wrecked our truck. Pedro's truck. The Radio Tower. HOW CAN THEY BE SO SMART!" Cisco yelled.
"Get inside." Sean said as they went in the building.
"Ok. Lets go over what we know. There were three sacks in the worm we saw split open. That would mean theres gotta be one or two for one." Korra said.
"Yeah. That makes sense. Kiva. How many worms were left?" Sean asked.
"You all killed all but 10 worms I was watching the whole time." Kiva said.
"That would mean theres gotta be 30 or 60 of them." Roy said.
"How many did you kill?" Kiva asked.
"15. 1 at the tower 12 on the way here and 2 here. That leaves..." Sean tried to say before the room shook.
"Oh man now what?" Cisco asked as Sean looked outside.
"Thank Christ it's Burt and Eda." Sean said as they went outside.
"Yes! They didn't get them." Cisco said.
Only to see the truck covered in guts of the creatures.
"Oh they got them." Charolette said as they parked up.
Eda came out with some blood on her before glaring at Charolette as she took her shades off.
"You...BITCH!" Eda yelled trying to strangle her but Sean held her back.
"Easy! She forgot about this. Remember she made these millions of years ago." Sean said.
"Sorry. I don't remember anything about these things since I hated them for how they turned out." Charolette said.
"Charolette...Being denied critical need to know information can get you killed." Burt said pissed off.
"Sorry. Do you remember everything in your life?" Charolette asked.
"Granted. We killed at least over 40 of these damn things." Burt said.
"And for once in his life my dad is out of Ammo." Eda said.
"Thats never happened to me before." Burt said.
"Who cares? Looks like we killed them all." Cisco said.
"I really hope not. We need to know more about these things if they ever show up again." Kiva said.
"True enough. But we killed them all. All 60 of them." Sean said.
"That fact was not lost on me. Eda saw one of the Little SOB's was just stunned." Burt said showing one tied up in the back. "So we detained him." Burt said.
"Great." Sean said.
Burt drove his truck into the garage before getting out having his MREs pour out.
"Oh man it's drooling,." Roy said as they reached for it making it snarl as they jumped back.
"Don't let him spook ya. That line is a thousand pound test from your company." Burt said.
"Man." Sean said as they dragged it inside.
If they had stayed longer they would have noticed one of the creatures fall from under the truck moaning in pain before reaching for Burt's food.
Later
Once in a cage Sean used a broom to make noise seeing if it reacted the same way as Graboids but it didn't do anything.
"Ok so it's not by sound it hunts." Sean said.
"Let me try something." Cisco said holding his hand up making its head open up showing the red organ before screaming. "Oooh. Now I get it." Cisco said as they stood up. "It doesn't actually see us it senses the heat of our bodies. That thing that rises up must be a heat sensor. Like your mask does for Thermal vision." Cisco said as it screamed again.
"And clearly signals other with heat coming from it." Korra said feeling it.
"So thats how they hunt. The sound doesn't matter. They make noise but they signal each other with body heat." Sean said.
"It only sees heat?" Roy asked.
"Not so strange. I mean rattle snakes strike at body heat. And thats why they tore up the cars. Because the engines were hot. They thought it was food." Turok said.
"Same thing with the Radio towers. That electronic gears puts off all kinds of heat." Cisco said.
"So basically they bite anything warm." Burt said.
"So basically even though they did what smart animals would do they're too stupid to realize they weren't eating actual food." Eda said as it dragged its tongue on the ground before she tossed a piece of her food at it and it ate it. "Ok thats not warm. How's it know to eat that?" Eda asked.
"Probably just tasted it." Sean said as it started chewing before belching.
"Looks like he's had enough." Roy said.
"You fed it too much. You made it sick." Burt said.
"Oh please. This shit you buy probably made it sick." Eda said as it started retching something out.
"Oh my god!" Korra yelled in disgust while Sean took a closer look.
"Guys...It's moving." Sean said in alarm shocking them as whatever it hacked up was moving before it turned out to be an infant version of it.
"Oh my god." Cisco said.
"Hermaphrodites." Sean said.
"Whats that?" Roy asked.
"These things can reproduce without having sex." Sean said.
"How? Thats not possible for animals. Is it?" Eda asked.
"Not unnecessarily. It's very rare in certain animals like lizards. But these things on the other hand just need enough food to do so." Sean said.
"So if they get enough food they can just make more of themselves." Korra said.
"What the hell did you do to these things?" Eda asked Charolette.
"Hey! I didn't do this on purpose. This was one of the first things My Husband and I made back then long before even the Dinosaurs. They didn't turn out the way I wanted. This was not what I wanted." Charolette said.
"Doesn't matter what anyone wanted. Fact is we need to wipe these things out. If they get into the big cities like New York or LA. It'll be a feeding frenzy." Sean said as one busted through a glass window making them yell in shock as Sean stabbed it with a knife.
Looking outside he saw a whole bunch of them eating Burt's food.
"They got into your damn super food Burt!" Sean yelled as they ran outside.
"We gotta close the Garage." Kiva yelled but they came outside.
"THIS WAY!" Cisco yelled running to a building.
"Cisco! NOT THAT WAY! CISCO DAMNIT!" Kiva yelled as they made it in. "THIS ISN'T GONNA WORK!" Kiva yelled.
"SHIT!" Everyone yelled seeing it was no where near finished just the front.
Eda looked under the door seeing them just standing around.
"They can't see behind objects. We're good for now." Eda said.
"Yeah that ain't gonna last. We're like sitting ducks here!" Kiva yelled making everyone glare at Cisco making him widen his eyes.
"Well I'm sorry It didn't say under construction or anything!" Cisco yelled.
"I tried to tell you!" Kiva yelled.
"Everyone shut up! These fuckers are blind and deaf! We gotta be able to beat them somehow!" Sean yelled.
"I have a dumb suggestion." Korra said.
Outside the creatures continued to just walk around.
Thats when a door started moving blocking their view of Sean and Korra.
"Heh! Nice idea. They can't see shit." Sean said.
"Good. Everyone grab a door and move with us." Korra said as they moved in perfect synch.
"Where are we even going?" Burt asked.
"Are there any more cars left?" Sean asked.
"One. Julio's." Kiva said.
"Where?" Korra asked.
"Left. Move left." Kiva said getting them to do that getting behind a building.
"This way." Kiva said leading them. "SHIT!" Kiva yelled seeing one in front of them. "GODDAMNIT THERES ONE OF THEM OUT THERE!" Kiva yelled as they hid.
"Did it see you?" Roy asked.
"I don't think so otherwise it would have screamed." Sean said as Burt loaded his Anti Tank gun. "I thought you said you were out." Sean said.
"I am. This is all I got left." Burt said aiming it at the beast. "Cover your ears." Burt said getting them to do just that.
BANG!
Once Burt fired it blew up.
"Whoa." Cisco said.
"Wow." Roy said.
"You smoked his ass." Sean said.
"Doing what I can with what I got." Burt said.
Heading towards the truck they noticed the bullet went through everything in it's path.
"Good lord." Sean said before seeing a hole in the engine.
"Ah man. Pop the hood." Roy said.
"DAMN!" Sean yelled seeing it was leaking fuel.
"And we're dead." Turok said making everyone glare at Burt.
"What? I didn't know, How could I know? We were supposed to be up against Graboids. I wanted Maximum penetration." Burt said before the things screamed.
"SCATTER!" Sean yelled as he, Kiva and Charolette made it into the bar while Eda and the others went up the tower.
"DAMN!" Burt yelled getting in a bulldozer.
Eda saw this and sighed.
"Real smooth dad." Eda said.
"I don't wanna hear it." Burt said.
Sean had a broken mop stick as a weapon as they tried to barge in.
"This is stupid." Sean said before getting an idea taking off his jacket turning on heavy hot water.
"I get it." Charolette said getting some clothes pins putting them on a Line.
"We're gonna head to the others and climb." Sean said moving it out there as the creatures screamed before charging at it.
"YES! Sean you're a Genius!" Cisco yelled.
"Clearly." Sean said as they moved up the ladder.
"Nice job." Roy said.
"Wheres Burt?" Sean asked.
"Uh. He's safe but." Eda said showing his situation.
"Damn." Sean said as the creatures around him screamed.
"Oh I'm just dandy. So what do we do now?" Burt asked.
"Nothing we can do but wait. Knowing Mom she'll send a rescue party in a couple hours since they haven't heard from us last night." Sean said.
"A couple hours? In this?" Burt asked annoyed.
"Deal with it. Nothing we can do." Korra said.
"Easy for you to say." Burt said as one of them started snorting. "SHUT UP!" Burt yelled making Eda laugh. (I don't know why but every time he yells that at them it makes me laugh)
Later
Everyone was waiting this out hoping for a rescue to arrive.
Cisco right now was just on his back resting before standing up.
Thats when the Creatures Sean called Shriekers screamed making him sigh before.
"AHHHHHHHHH!" Cisco yelled mimicking them.
"SHUT THE HELL UP!" Burt yelled making Turok chuckle.
Sean whistled as he looked at the clouds.
"I'm surprised you're not taking this whole situation out on me." Charolette said.
"Why would I do that? You said it yourself they didn't turn out the way you hopes. Neither did mankind turn out the way Gramps hoped." Sean said making her smile.
"Yeah. For years I never understood what he saw in Mankind. Now...I think I see it." Charolette said.
"Oh?" Sean asked.
"Their no different than us. Just as flawed as anything else." Charolette said.
"Everyone has flaws in life. It's whats makes us all unique. But being flawed is a good thing. It means we're all different from one another. If we were all the same all perfect and in perfect synch with one another...Think how boring this planet would be." Sean said making her chuckle.
"If I hadn't listened to Grendel 200 years ago when he told me about Michael." Charolette said.
"Wait what?" Sean asked alarmed.
"Uh guys?" Cisco said getting their attention making them look seeing them climb up on top of one another.
"Mother fucking." Sean said annoyed.
"Got any ideas?" Roy asked.
"I'm thinking here!" Sean yelled.
"Whats going on?" Burt asked.
"Their trying to climb each other to reach us!" Eda yelled making him widen his eyes using his knife to look.
"Smart little bastards." Burt said before seeing the garage and got out. "Come get me you suckers! You hungry! A hundred and eighty five pounds of lean meat!" Burt yelled.
"Dad what are you doing?" Eda yelled.
"You know you want it!" Burt yelled as he ran to the garage as they chased him after falling over.
"The hell is wrong with him?" Charolette asked.
"He's up to something." Sean said getting down.
Burt led them back into the Garage before shutting all the doors as the others showed up.
"Problem solved." Burt said making them laugh before they started screaming inside.
"Wait a minute...Whats in there?" Sean asked.
"I don't know boxes supplies." Kiva said as they looked inside.
"Sweet snack foods?" Sean and Korra asked.
"Rice Flower." Burt and Eda said as they screamed again.
"I DIDN'T KNOW! HOW COULD I HAVE KNOWN!" Burt asked.
"Relax I got an idea." Sean said getting a fire extinguisher.
"What are you gonna do? Spray yourself?" Charolette asked.
"Exactly. This stuff is so cold they won't notice me." Sean said.
"What are you up to?" Roy asked.
"If I can get to the truck I can get our equipment and end this." Sean said.
"It's our best shot." Korra said as she and Kiva started spraying him.'
"Fuck this shit is cold." Sean said as he went inside.
Inside he looked around seeing the whole place was filled with them but they didn't see him.
"I can't see anything." Cisco said as they went up top.
Arriving up top they saw them.
"Oh man they are multiplying like crazy." Cisco said.
Sean got to the truck just as the effects were wearing off.
"Sean hurry up!" Eda yelled before the Shriekers screamed.
"Damn they see him." Burt said.
Sean got his gear along with Roy's bow before noticing an explosive charge and set it up.
"Sean hurry up." Korra said as he went back before jumping to them.
"Why didn't you just kill them?" Eda asked.
"I set a bomb instead." Sean said as they ran down.
"What happened?" Burt asked as they ran.
"I set a bomb in your truck." Sean said running off making him widen his eyes.
"YOU WHAT!" Burt yelled. "Thats two and a Half tons of High explosives Sean!" Burt yelled.
"I know thats the idea! NOW RUN!" Sean yelled as they ran like hell.
"How long did you set it for?" Burt asked.
"2 minutes and 30 seconds." Sean said.
"God it's gonna be big! BIG!" Burt yelled as they arrived in a trench. "All right this will have to do. Get down and stay down. Cover your ears. IT'S GONNA BE BIG!" Burt yelled.
"GET DOWN!" Sean yelled shielding Korra as Burt did the same to Eda before.
BOOOOOOOM!
A massive blast blew up the refinery along with all the shriekers inside.
Looking up they saw a massive hole.
"Holy shit." Eda said as they got up.
"You know honey...I think this is natures way of saying...Out with the old and in with the new." Charolette said making Sean smile before Suddenly Flash and some of the League arrived.
"The hell happened here?" Flash asked.
"Long story. Short version...There was more to the Graboids than we thought." Sean said.
Later
"So these Shriekers were a second cycle to the Worms?" Amanda asked looking at the head of one.
"Clearly. I guess it makes sense. We never got a chance to study them last time." Sean said.
"And I don't remember anything that comes after this." Charolette said.
"Well, they're millions of years old so thats to be expected. I asked your friend to deal with these matters from now on. For a suitable fee." Amanda said.
"Now then...What did you mean by Grendel told you about my dad?" Sean asked Charolette.
"What?" Amanda asked narrowing her eyes.
"Why are you all so twitchy about that name? I met him 200 years ago." Charolette said.
"200 years ago? Then it proves this individual can time travel but can't directly interfere in events." Amanda said.
"What are you talking about?" Charolette asked.
"Someone named Grendel has been trying to kill me. At first I thought it was someone I knew but clearly now we know he's been trying this for a long time. He used your hatred for humans to try and kill me by not revealing who My dad and uncle were." Sean said shocking her.
"I...Sean I..." Charolette said.
"I know. He used your hatred to his advantage." Sean said.
"My question is who the hell is Grendel. And how does he know so much about you?" Amanda asked.
"Thats a good question. One we'll figure out in time." Sean said. "On a plus side we killed all 150 worms so thats a large sum of money for the company. Add to the fact these shriekers they paid for half the price made one hell of a bonus. It'll be a nice Christmas Bonus." Sean said making Amanda smirk.
Author Note: I was gonna do this later but I decided to do it now since I loved Tremors 2 growing up as a kid and so did my whole family since it was a classic. Now I have some more annoying news. I'm gonna be gone again for another week since something came up. But it gives me time to catch up on writing more chapters for this story and hopefully some other stories as well.
