Chapter 42 Crisis on Two earth's
It's been a month since Sean had recruited Ebon and his crew into the new life of being heroes.
And since Savitar had revealed himself to be alive once again.
Making many wonder if old enemies would also be revealed to be alive.
Right now however though.
Members of the League were giving some upgrades to the Watch Tower.
Sean drank some water as he was putting in some new security systems.
"Does the Watch Tower really need all this security?" Wonder Woman asked seeing Turrets and laser grids being placed in.
"Because of this Grendel character we've been hearing of lately it's better to be safe than sorry." Sean said.
"He's right. Besides it could also help against future threats." Batman said as Kid Flash appeared on the screen.
"You know the work could go faster if I was up there." Kid Flash said bragging.
"Why? So you can annoy most of us to death and never have it done the right way?" Raven asked making most laugh at that as he frowned.
"Patience fool. I'm almost done with this teleporter." Sean said.
"This kinda seems a little radical even for you. You sure this is gonna work?" KF asked.
"Pretty sure." Batman said pressing a button.
"Pretty sure? That isn't..." Was as far as he got before he vanished and reappeared on the Tower. "Good enough." Wally finished before Batman took the Pretzel he had.
"Teleporter is working just fine." Batman said eating it making Sean burst out laughing.
"ARE YOU GUYS CRAZY! How could you test it if you didn't know it was safe?" Wally asked.
"He was joking." Sean said.
"Yeah? How can you tell?" Wally asked.
"You really think he would use something on you without knowing if it would work?" Korra asked amused.
"Maybe...I mean I don't think he likes me." Wally said.
"Nobody likes you shit head." Crush said annoyed as she put some supplies down.
"Is she seriously still judging me for what happened during the invasion?" Wally asked.
"Crush ain't exactly known for a sense of humor on the field like you have." Sean said finishing an update.
While this was going on Superman was installing some turrets outside before an Alert came up.
"Go ahead." Superman said.
"We have a situation down here. One of yours." Lane said.
Later
Arriving at the Metropolis prison they saw ARGUS security around one room as Beowulf, Superman and Wonder Woman arrived before opening the door seeing Lex Luthor...Naked. (Oh God why)
"Oh good lord." Beowulf said.
"What do you think your doing?" Superman asked.
"I've come to talk. As you can see I'm not armed." Lex said.
"Nor clothed." Beowulf muttered making Diana Snort.
"Your gonna find what I have to say very difficult to believe." Lex said.
"Your from a Parallel Earth." Beowulf said.
"How did you know that?" Lex asked surprised.
"Your energy signature is completely different from the Lex we know. Everyone has a unique energy signature from every universe and I can see it through my mask. And it showed your organs are reversed in different placed compared to ours." Beowulf said.
"It could be a trick." Wonder Woman asked.
"Nope. Plus Our Luthor is still in his prison cell on Stryker's island." Beowulf said.
"And now that we've discussed the matter of my evil Twin. I got quite a story to tell you." Lex said about to stand up.
"Pants." Beowulf said.
"Oh." Lex said.
Later
"My Earth is very similar similar to yours but very different in yours in certain ways." Lex said.
"Let me guess? On your Earth you're the Leader of the Justice League?" Crush asked placing her legs on the table.
"I was." Lex said surprising them.
"Past tense." Wonder Woman said.
"I'm not just my Justice League's Leader. I'm it's only surviving member. We were wiped out by a group of criminals known as the Crime Syndicate. They are...Your exact opposites. Some of you." Lex said.
"What does that mean? We're the bad guys?" Kid Flash asked.
"He means in this universe the people there are like reverse versions of themselves or different versions of people here." Beowulf said.
"Exactly. Those in this room like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Lantern and Martain Manhunter. Different in names, appearance, Background and so on. But they aren't them specifically. Just different people with your skills and abilities." Lex said.
"Confusing as hell." Reznov said.
"They've run rampent for years. Occasionally turning their attention towards the populace just to remind us that they're there. The only thing stopping them from compleatly taking over the world is a nuclear response. You people are my world's last hope." Lex said.
"Give a minute." J'onn said leading him outside.
"I don't trust him." Superman said.
"Oh grow up. I can tell he's being truthful. He's not lying." Beowulf said.
"I mean he's not our Luthor." Barry said.
"Still, never met a Luthor I liked." Superman said.
"I've read his mind. He's telling the truth. Regardless we have a responsibility to the millions of people being oppressed on his world." J'onn said.
"Look for all my power, when it comes down to it the Lanterns are just beat cops. There are rules. Another universe may be beyond our jurisdiction." Hal said.
"Tell that to the evil devil who came here to recharge his powers and making Sean's God Slayer counterpart come here to finish him." Korra said.
"And we know for a fact someone is trying to bring the multiverse together for some greater threat that more than likely outshines Darkseid and anyone we know or will face combined. And eventually we're gonna meet others from these universes who have already allied with one another to face it. Who's to say this isn't his doing." Reznov asked.
"I can't believe we're having this discussion. Of course we'll help." Wonder Woman said.
"Diana's right. Thats what we do." Superman said.
"Not so fast." Sean said.
"What?" Flash asked.
"While I agree we should help since it's right thing to do. I don't think this requires everyone in the League. Lets not forget, Grendel is out there somewhere amassing an army and bringing people back from the dead. That alone gives us pause." Sean said.
"True enough. But our responsibly is to the people no matter what Universe." Superman said.
"As I said I agree. But I don't think we need to send everyone. Just a small few of the group." Sean said.
"All right. Me, Wonder Woman, Flash, J'onn, Hal and Korra will go with him." Superman said.
"Agreed." Batman said.
Soon enough Korra and the others left with Luthor while Batman and Sean stayed behind.
"You know he's hiding something." Batman said.
"I already know." Sean said pulling out some strange device. "Whatever this is my mask says is pure energy. My guess is he brought it here to hide it away from this Syndicate because he knows they need it." Sean said.
Later
Sage and her league arrived in one of Luthor's safe houses after confronting Owlman and Superwoman.
"Love what you've done with the place." Sage said seeing it was a fun house.
"It's not mine. It belonged to the Jester." Luthor said.
"Please tell me Joker's counterpart is not a good guy. I find that very difficult to believe." Sage said.
"Every universe has similarities and differences. In your universe I'm the bad guy. Here I'm actually a hero and there are evil versions of the League." Luthor said.
"True. So what are we up against?" Superman asked as a screen came online.
"There are six main leaders of the whole syndicate. Ultraman is the Superman of my universe. Owlman is Batman. Power Ring is Green Lantern. Superwoman is Wonder Woman. And Johnny Quick is Flash." Luthor said showing their photos.
"And what about J'onn?" Superman asked.
"That one was killed by Jester after he sacrificed himself to help me get away so I could get your help." Luthor said.
"What about all the others though?" Sage asked.
"Those are called Made Men. Enhanced lieutenants in their organization. Each leader has a certain number under their command and each does different duties." Luthor said.
"They all look like heroes we know back home." Hal said.
"Thats because in this universe everyone is an exact opposite of people you know." Luthor said.
"You know if we brought Beowulf we could end this here and now." Flash said.
"How?" Luthor asked.
"Easy he's the one who suggested the League and he has everyone's powers." Sage said amused.
"Then why didn't he come with. Not out of mistrust for me I hope." Luthor said.
"No we got our own problems to deal with. So how do we handle this?" Wonder Woman asked.
"We'll have to divide our forces in order to take him down." Sage said.
"Thats suicide. When my league tried that..." Luthor tried to say.
"We're not like your league. We do this our way. Get me to Ultraman and I'll take him down easy." Sage said.
"And how are you gonna do that?" Luthor asked making her smirk under her mask.
Later
Sage, Luthor and Superman were outside Ultraman's building while the others dealt with the Syndicate operations.
"You sure you can do this?" Lex asked.
"Just get him here." Sage said as the doors opened up revealing a muscled Jimmy Olsen.
"I don't want the hired help, Olsen. I want your boss." Lex said.
"He ain't here. If you want an appointment you can call his secretary. Clear our airspace." Jimmy said.
"Make us." Sage said.
"I can do that." Jimmy said flying to her before she punched him down hard much to his shock.
"Hmph." Sage said amused as he crashed down before growling and used his signal watch to call him.
"You really sure you wanna do this?" Lex asked.
"She can handle him easy." Superman said as Ultraman arrived.
"I don't know who you are bitch but you just signed your death warrant." Ultraman said charging at her but she dodged before airbending him down hard making him grunt.
"Please. I can go head to head with some of the worst on my Earth. Your easy to figure out." Sage said as she shot lightning at him making him yell before charging at her before punching her back into a building.
"You think you can come to my earth and talk down to me? YOUR DEAD BITCH!" Ultraman yelled using heat vision on her but she blocked it with Earth bending as she created a serpent of Water before it dashed at him making him yell as he was forced outside.
Thats when Metal started bending around him as he looked seeing her metal bending before forming sharp spears before launching at him but he just grunted with each impact.
"Is that the best you got bitch!" Ultraman yelled.
"I really hate doing this but you forced my hand." Sage said.
Thats when Ultraman started groaning in pain as his own body fought against him.
"Whats she doing?" Lex asked.
"Blood bending. She only uses this as a last resort or against those she really hates. Under Normal circumstances water benders can't blood bend without a full moon but she's gotten around that." Superman said.
Ultraman groaned as he was unable to move before she was right in front of him.
"What are you gonna do? Kill me?" Ultraman grunted out.
"Oh no." Sage said before her eyes glowing going into the Avatar State grabbing his head as he yelled for a minute before she let go as he could move again.
Trying to hit her she easily caught his punch shocking him as she punched him away.
"What? What did you do to me?" Ultraman asked terrified.
"I took away your power. Your as weak as any other human." Sage said kicking him down.
Soon the police arrived taking Ultraman away as people cheered.
Later
"You actually took down Ultraman and took his power away?" President Wilson asked.
"It's a new ability I've just mastered for anyone." Sage said.
"Don't you see now? We can finally end them." Lex said.
"But what happens after they leave? The others who work for them just gonna stand down?" Wilson asked.
"They'll fall apart. Without the main heads they'll eventually crumble." Superman said.
"I'm not going to risk the lives of the people based on a theory." Wilson said.
"It's no theory. Like any group they need leaders. And without him now the group will begin to fall apart." Sage said.
"Just wait and see." Lex said.
Meanwhile
Sean whistled as he was finishing some final touches on the Watch Tower.
"Bruce of course would leave the heavy lifting to me. Then again I can't blame him for spending time with Damian and Martha." Sean said to himself before getting an alert.
"Intruder alert." The Computer said.
"Figures." Sean said putting his mask on.
Superwoman and her best Made Men arrived through a copy of Luthor's device.
"It's here. Spread out and find it." Superwoman said before one was blasted back making them look seeing Beowulf with his Caster smoking.
"You're on my watch Tower lady. Stand down." Beowulf said.
"You're in no postion to make demands. Where is the Quantum Trigger?" Wonder Woman asked.
"You mean this?" Beowulf asked holding it up making her smirk.
"Be a dear and give it to me would you?" Superwoman said making him pull out his Maul. "All right. Have it your way." Superwoman said before charging at him making him dodge easy before punching her back as one of her men tried to hit him but Beowulf slashed him with his Wrist blades making him yell out in pain as he bled.
"I ain't your average hero hon. I'm not Squeamish when it comes to taking a life if for the right reason. So you might as well leave." Beowulf said.
"Sorry but no." Superwoman said as she charged at him again before using the device to send them all back to her earth.
Arriving in her private house Beowulf grunted as he fell over before the Trigger fell out as she took it.
"Take it to Owlman. I'll handle this." Superwoman said as her men left while the two continued to fight.
Beowulf kneed her in the chest hard making her gasp as the air in her lungs came out before punching her down hard before grabbing her by the hair lifting her up making her chuckle.
"You know...You remind me of my husband. We liked to play it rough back then." Superwoman said.
"Oh really? And where is he?" Beowulf asked.
"Dead. Part of the reason I became a criminal was to make people feel my pain. We all start somewhere." Superwoman said giving him a powerful uppercut which knocked his mask right off.
When Sean faced her again showing his face she gasped.
"Sean?" Superwoman asked.
"How do you know me?" Sean asked making her frown before sighing.
"Right...I forgot. You're not actually him. Your just his double." Superwoman said.
"Wait...My double was your husband wasn't he?" Sean asked.
"Oh yeah. We knew each other since we were little kids. Did everything together. Then one day you just were killed. It led me down this path. Wanted to make people feel the same pain I felt of losing someone you loved. Though...every time I just put people into a coma or life threatening injuries...I knew you...My Sean would never approve if I took a life. I guess in some way your memory is what held me back from being a true killer." Superwoman said.
"How did you become who you are?" Sean asked.
"Owlman actually. Helped me become what I am. A couple days after it happened." Superwoman said making him frown. "What?" Superwoman asked.
"If theres one thing I know is that nothing happens by chance. I think Owlman killed my double here to give you a reason to become what you are. Think about it. He shows up shortly after I die? I don't think so." Sean said shocking her before she thought it over swearing she saw him a few times in the past but brushed it off back then.
"SON OF A BITCH!" Superwoman roared.
"Sage?" Sean said on the comms.
"Sean? What are you doing here?" Sage asked.
"Later. Right now I got some important info." Sean said.
Later
"So Owlman killed your double here in order for Superwoman to become what she is. That makes sense." Luthor said.
"When I get my hand on him I will kill him." Superwoman said as they approached their base.
After they had arrived they found Owlman arming the device.
"STOP!" Superwoman yelled making him do so seeing them.
"How unexpected." Owlman said.
"I have one question for you. Did you kill my husband?" Superwoman asked making him look at her before a smirk appeared.
"So you finally figured it out." Owlman said before looking at Sean seeing him without his mask. "Or rather his double more than likely did. It matters very little. I needed to give you the push you needed to become what you are. Honestly you should be thanking me." Owlman said making her roar charging at him.
Beowulf pulled out his maul before slashing Power Ring making him yell in pain before he was split in half as Johnny tried to attack him next but he just blasted him with his Plasma Caster.
Superwoman groaned as she was punched back before Owlman armed the device and vanished.
"Where's he going?" Superman asked.
"He's gonna try and destroy Earth Prime. I overheard him earlier but didn't think he was serious." Superwoman said.
"I know how to track him." Beowulf said grabbing Johnny who was still alive before placing a device on him before he started vibrating making him scream as a portal opened up which he followed through.
Arriving on Earth Prime he found them in what looked like the Amazon rainforest.
"Unexpected." Owlman said getting his attention. "I half expected this planet to be dead because of man. Then again life is full of surprises." Owlman said about to arm the device.
"Oh not this again."
Both looked seeing someone in silver armor flying down to them.
"Owlman. Come here to destroy All the Earths by destroying this one. You already tried this before from another universe before."
"Who are you?" Owlman asked as his helmet went into his suit Showing another Sean who had a Red mark on the left side of his face. (Ladies and Gentlemen. Sean Prime from Rider of the League)
"You already tried this before. And failed. Even now when your double is with the Regime you're still in another universe trying this nonsense." Sean Prime said.
"It's a logical choice. Without this Earth the rest would cease to exist." Owlman said.
"Actually no it wouldn't. You would need to destroy the entire universe here to do that. Even if you do try this you'll still fail. Thats how it works. And even if you do somehow do that it'll just start up all over again. Nothing you do matters." Sean Prime said shocking him.
"But...No...My calculations showed." Owlman tried to say before gasping in pain as he looked down seeing Beowulf with his heart in hand before crushing it as he slowly died on the ground.
"What a pain." Beowulf said taking his mask off. "So I guess I'm a big hero here too eh?" Sean asked making his primary counterpart smirk.
"Piece of advice from someone who's been doing this for almost 20 years? Always count on family to help you out when needed." Sean Prime said destroying the device before sending him back.
Arriving back he stopped the device on Johnny making him stop vibrating before he turned into an old man and died.
"Whoa." Flash said.
"Hence the reason I did this on him and didn't ask you to do it." Sean said.
"Harsh...I like it." Superwoman said making him smirk.
Later
"You were right. The Syndicate is finished. Without the main heads they're falling apart. We owe you for giving back our world." Wilson said.
"No problem." Sage said.
"As for you." Wilson said looking at Superwoman who looked away. "Since Owlman made you into what you are...I won't have you arrested and put in prison. On the condition you leave this Earth...And never come back." Wilson said making her frown.
"I got nothing worth living here for anyway." Superwoman said as Sean held her hand.
"You got something on ours though." Sean said making her smile softly as they left.
Later
Superwoman was getting her room set up after taking everything of value from her old home.
"I know this is gonna be difficult for a while settling in on a new Earth but." Sean tried to say.
"It's no big deal. We all gotta start over at some point." Superwoman said looking at her old wedding ring. "Like my Sean once said. Sometimes life gives you a new beginning in strange ways." Superwoman said making him smirk.
"If you need anything." Sean said.
"Thank you. And by the way. It's Mary." Mary said making him grin.
"I'm here for you Mary." Sean said leaving.
Later
Everyone was at a new facility called the hall of justice.
"So far Grendel hasn't made any new moves since Savitar attacked you." Batman said.
"I'd say he acted on his own accord hoping things would go his way." Sean said.
"I still don't understand what his grudge is against you." Shayera said.
"My best guess." Sean tried to say before an explosion went off blowing them back.
Sean put his mask on gear on before US based troops started firing laser guns at them.
"HOLD YOUR FIRE!" Sage yelled but they kept shooting at them.
"I want them alive!"
"What the?" Beowulf said before seeing one of the few people in the Army he hated the most. "Hardcastle." Sean said.
"I want them all captured so we can turn them into perfect weapons against the world." Hardcastle said as Beowulf pulled out his Smart disk before he started cutting into his troops without killing them making them cry out in pain.
Supergirl punched through several of them before Hardcastle pulled out a special gun and fired making her cry out in pain as it went right through her.
"Kara!" Superman yelled rushing to her.
"You all are now weapons of the United states and you will go to war against the rest of the world." Hardcastle said before Beowulf had his wrist blades at his neck making him gasp.
"In the name of the United Nations peace accords...You are under Arrest." Beowulf said.
Later
Hardcastle was taken away for his actions.
"The hell was that all about?" Wally asked.
"Harcastle is always looking for the next big game changers to wage war on the rest of the world. He must have saw the League as the best chance for it and thought he could handle us." Sean said.
"So whats gonna happen?" Floyd asked.
"He'll be dishonorably discharged and most likely spend time in prison for this." Sean said as they left.
If they had paid attention they would notice someone collecting a sample of Supergirl's blood when she got shot before leaving.
Author's Note: And with that the Syndicate in the other universe is defeated and Superwoman joins the Justice League here. And now Hardcastle has been taken down but in the process helped collect Supergirl's DNA for a certain someone. Now things are gonna get interesting. Now Next Chapter is the Brave and the Bold.
