Chapter 45 Shark Attack
It's been a week since Mad Mod tried to brainwash the Titans and Korra since she was visiting.
And since Grendel finally appeared which gave them some insight Sean might have done something to him in the future to cause such hatred.
Now things were calm again.
Currently right now Sean was in South Africa in Cape Town working on a new Aquatic Park he was helping a business partner make.
Mike right now was walking into the building seeing everything still under construction.
"Korra." Mike said getting her attention.
"Hey Mike." Korra said.
"Where is he? I don't see him and he said he'd meet with me today." Mike said.
"Went to clear his head. You know where to find him." Korra said.
Sean right now was in one of the underwater tanks with some tiger sharks next to him rubbing up against him.
Thats when he heard someone tapping on the glass making him look seeing Mike before going up.
Getting dried off he saw Cisco and Wells.
"How we doing?" Sean asked.
"Pretty good so far. We'll be ready when it comes to the opening day." Cisco said.
"Kruger." Mike said getting his attention.
"Hey Mike." Sean said jumping down.
"I just walked by the Tropical tank. Why is it empty?" Mike asked.
"Oh little problem with the temperature in there. It'll be fixed in an hour or so. Not to worry. You'll get everything you want when it comes to opening day." Sean said.
"I hope so. This is going to be one of the biggest aquariums in the Country." Mike said.
"Thats why you asked for my help to make sure everything went ahead of schedule and came out perfectly fine." Sean said.
Later
Sean whistled as he was preparing tranq darts.
An hour ago a report of a great White came in attacking a toy boat some kids were using.
So natrually Sean wanted to make sure it was taken out to far open water to prevent another Amity island incident.
"I take it you heard?" Mike asked.
"Yup. Second Great White I've had to deal with in a year." Sean said.
"You know...Technically this facility could actually hold it." Mike said making him pause.
"You're not actually considering that are you?" Sean asked.
"You remember in Sea world they had caught a Great White Shark?" Mike asked.
"Yeah. But they had to let it go because the damn thing kept hitting the walls and didn't want it to die." Sean said.
"True but the number of people lining up to see it was higher than expected. Made millions on the first day. And if anyone could hold one it would be you. You know tech that can keep anything contained. Think of the publicity we could get and study from it to prevent any further attacks." Mike said making him frown.
"Ok, I'll see what I can do. But the second something happens that shows concerns I'm taking it out to open sea." Sean said.
"Fair enough. I can get you a crew to capture it." Mike said.
"I already have someone in mind." Sean said.
Later
Sean arrived at the docks seeing Quint in a new boat before whistling.
"Quint." Sean said getting his attention making him laugh.
"It's been a while son." Quint said.
"Bout a year. I need to hire you for a job." Sean said seeing his crew Tom and Marcus with some girls.
"Little late for that son since they have their hands full." Quint said.
"Sorry Kruger." Marcus said making him smirk.
"Would say...500 Grand make you postpone this?" Sean asked making Tom choke on his drink.
"Sorry girls. Gotta go." Tom said making them whine.
"Ok Man, we're in." Marcus said.
"One of the perks of owning a Trillion dollar company soon to be a Quadrillion dollar company if things keep going so well." Sean to Quint who laughed.
"So whats the Job?" Quint asked.
"Another Great white. This one is considerably smaller. Just need to capture it." Sean said.
"Sounds simple." Quint said.
Later
The Great White ate a large chunk of meat the guys used to lore it in.
"Whoa." Tom said.
"Simple my ass." Marcus said.
"Looks like a 12 footer." Tom said.
"No...Thats 16." Sean said.
"He's coming around." Quint said seeing him.
"Boss, I don't think he's happy." Marcus said as he rammed the boat.
"Whoa! Jesus." Sean said.
"Where'd he go?" Tom asked.
"Get back!" Sean yelled pulling him back as he came up.
Thats when Sean hit him with the Tranq.
"Thats should do." Sean said.
"I don't know about you but I could use a beer. And It think Tom needs a change of underpants." Marcus said.
Later
Sean walked to the building.
It's been 2 days since the Great White was caught and placed in a special tank.
Thats when he spotted Mike arguing with some woman about the Great White.
"Have a nice day lady." Mike said walking away.
"Asshole."
Thats when she bumped into Sean.
"Sorry." Sean said before getting a better look at her seeing she had white skin long blue hair and green eyes. She also had large breasts and a bubble butt.
"Excuse me." She said leaving.
Walking inside he went to Mike.
"Who was that?" Sean asked.
"Saori Otokawa. She claims our Shark killed her sister Last week." Mike said. (Saori from Discipline)
"Does she have proof?" Sean asked.
"What difference does it make?" Mike asked.
"There are rules about man eaters. If it did in fact kill her sister then yes it has to be investigated." Sean said.
"She didn't give any to be honest. Just said she knew. Never said how." Mike said.
"Thats not enough." Sean said.
"Thats what I said. So how is our star attraction?" Mike asked.
Leading him to the Great White he noticed black boxes on the walls.
"Those give off electrical impulses to prevent him from hitting the walls hurting himself. Once he gets close to one another goes off to lure him away before doing the same with another." Sean said.
"Impressive." Mike said before leaving.
Wells however noticed the look on his face.
"What is it?" Wells asked.
"Look at the Shark. More specifically his body. His back and Dorsal fins are too big for his body. I'm curious if this is a Newborn." Sean said.
"Thats no newborn. At that size he's got to be what? 10 or 12 years old? So he's a little off. Nature always acts strangely for animals." Wells said.
"Maybe. Lets get a blood sample though. Just to be on the safe side. I don't want a repeat of Amity island again." Sean said.
Later
Sean was in his office going over some files by the Great White exhibit.
Thats when he heard some noises making him look seeing some masked person by the Pen seeing a Shotgun being pulled out.
"And just what do you think your doing...Saori?" Sean asked making her remove her mask showing her face.
"How'd you know it was me?" Saori asked.
"Logic. What do you think you're doing?" Sean asked making her glare.
"That thing killed my Sister." Saori said.
"And you know this how?" Sean asked.
"It's missing an eye. I cut it out trying to save her." Saori said making him sigh.
"Look. I get what your going through. I lost my family a long time ago and I got my revenge but it didn't make things better." Sean said.
"You didn't see how it tore her to pieces." Saori said.
"Look. It's an animal. It doesn't know any better. They're not defined by good and evil. It's just doing what nature designed it for. You and your sister were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Nothing more or less. It's not like a human. It doesn't understand things like us." Sean said making her frown.
"It doesn't make it better." Saori said.
"I know. It rarely ever does. Look, It's not gonna hurt anyone else again even if it is the shark who killed her. This way it keeps people safe." Sean said.
Later
The opening day was bigger than anticipated since everyone was here to see the Great White.
Sean smiled seeing the crowd.
"It's a very nice turnout." Amanda said impressed.
"Yeah. I uh...Ran into someone who claims the Shark killed her sister last week but." Sean tried to say.
"Told her it's just an animal doing what it knows?" Amanda asked.
"Yeah. I mean I know what she's going through but still. Even I know you can't blame an animal for doing what nature designed it for." Sean said as they saw the Great White.
"Something about that one isn't right." Amanda said.
"I know. I asked Cisco and Wells to get a blood sample to be on the safe side." Sean said before seeing Saori before smiling at her.
Thats when Mike had one of the employees feed it but accidentally got caught in the rope and went in the water and it ate him.
"GODDAMNIT!" Sean yelled rushing up with Amanda.
Arriving at the sea gate Sean got a tracker ready before throwing it at the Shark as it escaped.
"Well?" Amanda asked.
"I got him." Sean said.
Later
"What do you mean you own my park now?" Mike asked pissed off.
"If you had read the contact you would know if you caused an incident I have full authority to take away the park since most of it is built with my materials. You got an employee killed because of your obsession with fame and publicity. That alone gives me authority to take control of this place. So now It's mine. And Now I gotta fix this mess because of you." Sean said making him frown.
"This isn't over Kruger. Mark my words." Mike said leaving.
"Sometimes these business deals aren't worth this crap." Sean said annoyed.
"So what do you plan to do?" Amanda asked.
"Track it and put it down. It's too dangerous now. I should have let Saori kill when she had the chance." Sean said heading outside.
"So you're going after it?" Saori asked making him face her.
"Oh yeah. Now I have confirmation it is a danger." Sean said.
Later
Sean had hired Quint and his crew to help find the Shark with Korra and Saori.
"There he is." Sean said getting his location.
"Right off of seal island." Korra said as they parked before Tom pulled out some Chum making Korra groan. "I can never stand that smell." Korra said.
"Takes some getting used to." Tom said as he got some bait ready.
However the Shark just went past it.
"It's not taking the bait this time." Quint said.
"This Shark is smarter than he looks." Sean said before it started ramming them.
"Damnit! Not again." Marcus said as Saori went inside.
"Get the Tranq ready." Sean said getting Korra to do that.
Suddenly it hit them again and Korra yelled as she accidentally hit the Tranq dart in her hand.
"Ooooh...Shiiiiiit." Korra moaned as she passed out.
"Oh honey." Sean said as Saori came out with a shotgun.
"Whoa!" Tom yelled as she started shooting it.
"Saori thats not gonna work." Sean said as it hit them again making her scream as she almost went in the water had he not caught her.
"It's getting away!" Quint yelled.
"Follow it." Sean said but the Engine started smoking.
"FUCK! The Engine is busted. That damn thing hit us one time too many." Marcus said.
"Great." Sean said annoyed.
Thats when another boat drove up to them before Sean saw it was Roy Bishop. An Old friend Sean knew and a guy Mike had hired to kill the shark to clear his name to earn his place back.
"Kruger. What happened here Mate?" Roy asked.
"What do you think? Shark flat out attacked us. I've never seen a shark act like this before." Sean said.
"Maybe it just likes you." Roy teased making him scoff. "What happened to her?" Roy asked seeing Korra knocked out.
"Accidentally knocked herself out with a Tranq dart." Sean said making him laugh as they hauled them back to shore.
Later
"Oooh. I feel embarrassed." Korra said.
"Ahh, don't be. Turok did something similar a few years back." Sean said making Amanda chuckle at that memory.
"You know I would at least liked if I had a daughter here to keep you boys out of trouble." Amanda said.
"Oh yeah right." Sean said amused.
"Anyway, I had the blood worked checked on our shark. But thats not the main issue we have." Amanda said.
"What is it?" Naori asked.
"Take a look at this." Amanda said showing satellite footage showing thermal imaging. "This is where your Shark went to. And this what I found." Amanda said showing a total of Six Great White Sharks in a cave.
"What the hell? Great Whites never hunt in packs." Sean said shocked.
"Not normal ones. The blood work came back from the lab and found something very disturbing. There are three times as many white blood cells and the Metabolic rate is almost off the chart." Amanda said showing him the paperwork.
"Fuck. No wonder it was acting so aggressive. Got any theories?" Sean asked.
"Well, I contacted an old friend who deals with sharks and he remembered an old case. A doctor way up north was experimenting with Great Whites trying to find a cure for cancer since Sharks DNA has unique properties that can be used for medicine. Pumping them full of Steroids and who knows what. And this is the thing that connects them. The Sharks were all female and Pregnant." Amanda said.
"And he thinks these sharks are the offspring?" Sean asked.
"More than likely. And heres the real concerning piece. That was a year ago. And look at them now." Amanda said.
"Almost have the bodies of adults. That means they'll only get bigger." Korra said alarmed said.
"Maybe even Meg size if this continues." Sean said.
"If they don't get put down soon before they leave...They could end up out in the open ocean and cause all kinds of Havoc. We need to eliminate them now." Amanda said.
Later
"You want me to shut down the beaches?" Mayor Shandu asked.
"Everything in the Water. This is not a debate." Sean said.
"What about the Surf Competition?" Shandu asked.
"Cancel it." Korra said.
"It starts in two hours." Shandu said.
"Look, I've heard enough! I am not telling the sponsors to cancel because we got Mutant Sharks! I mean this is Insane!" Mike yelled.
"Yeah. You would do that to make yourself more money." Sean said glaring at him.
"Gentlemen. Lets try to be civil." Shandu said calming them down. "Now I can't discount what Kruger has here. At the same time though I'm not about to start a panic." Shandu said.
"You can't deny those sharks are out there. And they'll only get bigger. If we don't deal with this now and they get out into open waters and start breeding with other Great Whites it's gonna get even worse." Sean said.
"What do you think about this Roy?" Shandu asked.
"If Kruger's concerned he's got good reason to be." Roy said making Mike glare.
"You want to risk more lives?" Saori asked.
"You want talk about risking lives? He tagged that shark.." Mike tried to say before Sean stood up and got in his face.
"Don't...Pin this on me. You got a man killed for publicity. SO DON'T FUCKING START! UNDERSTAND!" Sean roared making him glare.
"Mr Kruger." Shandu said. "Lets not make this about who's a fault here. Micheal, are the beaches secure?" Shandu asked.
"There are anti-Shark nets all along the beaches we're using for the competition." Mike said.
"Then I say we let Roy handle the sharks." Shandu said making Sean glare.
Outside Sean sighed in annoyance.
"Well, that could have gone better." Roy said.
"You better know what you're doing Roy. I don't need to remind you about Amity Island." Sean said.
"If it makes you feel better I guess I could use some of your equipment to handle it." Roy said.
"You'll have what you need." Sean said.
Later
Not only did Roy fail to kill the sharks since they proved to be too strong but lost two members of his crew.
And then the Sharks attacked the beaches since Mike had used very cheep nets which almost got people killed but thankfully Korra was able to waterbend everyone back to shore safely.
So Mike would be dealt with for his actions While Sean and the others dealt with the sharks.
"Ok. So for this mission we got enough to handle them and take them out." Sean said.
"How are we gonna do that? Nuke'm?" Roy asked.
"Uh no. I'm even shocked you would suggest that. Only reason those are still around is because it's safer to have them than not because of constant threats from beyond the stars. No. I got something else in mind." Sean said pulling out a small device.
"What the hell is that?" Korra asked.
"This...Is a Scrambler. Kills anything within 1 mile of it. All we gotta do is lure them into the cave in order to use it. It's locked onto their specific traits to kill only them but even still I wanna be careful. It will kill them only because they all share the same traits because of the high level of White Blood cells. Once it goes off it'll kill them and end this crap." Sean said.
"Just like that?" Naori asked.
"Just like that." Sean said.
"So what are we waiting for?" Roy asked as they got geared up.
Sean had his gear on as did Roy while Korra and the others stayed up.
"Ok lets get this done." Roy said as they moved to the cave.
As they were down below however though thats when Quint noticed a boat approaching them.
"Were we expecting someone?" Quint asked.
"What?" Korra asked before noticing them before they started firing on them making them duck down.
"What the hell?" Naori asked.
"Mike. He must have hired them to kill us so he can take credit for taking out the sharks to avoid punishment." Korra said seeing some go under water while they fired on them.
"Sean." Korra said on the comms.
"Little busy here." Sean said.
"We're under fire. Mike hired mercenaries to kill us so he could take credit for killing the sharks." Korra said.
"Son of a bitch." Sean said annoyed. (I'm surprised he didn't pull this in the movie)
Luring the sharks into the cave Sean set up the device.
"Ok the scrambler is set." Sean said as they went outside.
Thats when someone started shooting at the making them take cover.
"Never thought I'd be shot at underwater." Roy said.
"Fuck." Sean said annoyed.
Up top Korra yelled as she used Water bending to flip the shooters over making them yell before using Water bending to destroy their guns and pull them in.
"Sons of bitches." Marcus said tying them up.
Sean down below went behind the shoot before stabbing him in the neck making him yell as he bled out.
Thats when the Shark that started it all charged at him eating him making him scream in horror.
"Oh fuck!" Sean said seeing it tear him apart.
Pulling out his Maul however though thats When Sean sliced the head clean off.
"Thats a nice trophy for ya." Roy said as Sean grabbed it before they went topside to the boat just before the device went off killing the sharks inside.
"Nice." Korra said as they got on with the Shark's head.
"Is that..." Saori tried to ask.
"The very shark who killed your Sister? Yup. Figured it'd look good on my wall." Sean said making her smile.
"Now...We just gotta take care of one last thing." Korra said.
Later
Mike was sentenced to life in prison for his actions which gave Sean cause to take away his business and merge it with his own making it more successful.
"Now all thats left is to destroy that blood sample and this whole thing will be over." Sean said as they walked into the lab but saw it missing.
"Uh...What?" Korra asked as Wells and Cisco walked in.
"Did you guys destroy the blood sample?" Sean asked.
"No...We thought you did." Cisco said alarmed.
"Looking for this?"
Everyone turned seeing Grendel tossing the blood vile in the air while his Visor glowed making him look more intimidating.
"Grendal. You made those things didn't you?" Korra asked.
"Uh no actually. I had nothing to do with them to be honest. But I keep a close eye on your activities. I'm honestly surprised someone would be stupid enough to think of making Sharks like that just for a cure to Cancer and not think of the drawbacks of that ideal." Grendal said.
"What do you want it for?" Roy asked.
"That is a surprise. I'll be seeing you again...Kruger." Grendal said vanishing.
"Damnit." Sean said annoyed.
"What is he up to?" Korra asked.
"I have no idea. One thing is certain he is gathering followers. And he needs that to further his own goals." Sean said.
Authors Note: And With that Shark Attack 2 is over. I loved this movie growing up as a kid. It's what got me into the Sci-fi channel seeing so many amazing movies from there before it went to shit when they started making low budget stuff and constantly making the same thing over and over again.
