Chapter 1

Stale air filled the void staining the throat of a warrior. Slashing and the sounds of fighting ring out. Herds of grotesque limbs and monsters charge at a single figure standing exhausted as he looks around the battlefield. Large plains filled with rocks, and significant dips form small hills.

Battle cries rang true, from the monsters charging the man. The warrior prepares himself for another fight. But he realizes he can't lift his arm anymore due to the injuries and exhaustion.

'Well Percy it's times like this that you wish you listened to Annabeth and got on the dam elevator' Percy monologues in his head

As Percy looks at the monster army coming towards him in full charge, he thinks back to the underworld. He wonders if his uncle will give him the E-Z pass for dying.

Percy struggles to get his sword up when the first monster comes at him. Slashing his sword to the right Percy catches a hellhound as it was jumping through the air. Percy slashes at more and more monsters and backs himself up more.

Percy turns his head quickly to note he's on the edge of a hill and another step will send him downhill.

"Goodbye half-blood, tonight we feast on your flesh!" one of the monsters hidden in the sea of bodies screamed out,

Percy grips his sword tighter and glares at the monsters. Staring down the monsters he gives one last charge at the army that is in front of him. If he is gonna die he will do it fighting. As Percy is meeting the monsters that are charging him a sense of anger starts to fill his veins. Rage leaks out of the young demigod. As he raises his sword and chops down on the closest monster killing it instantly.

Percy continues to pour everything he has into the fight. Slashing, chopping, doing anything and everything he can to kill the monsters before him. Only a few manage to die before an arrow is shot through the air by a monster. The arrow sails and lands directly into his back. Gritting his teeth Percy breaks off the shaft and continues to keep fighting, his wound slowing him down. For every monster he was able to kill, two or three monsters would get a hit in. Cuts start to become visible on his body as blood slowly leaks out and onto the ground below him.

Finally, as Percy is fighting a telekhine a single empousa gets lucky and slashes her talons at Percy. Clipping his shoulder forcing him to let go of his sword and hold the wound. Percy falls back onto the ground and lays there as his blood stains the ground beneath him. As his life is coming to an end all Percy thinks to himself. Thinking about his life and what it had become. All the monsters surround the demigod's body as it bleeds out and will be a meal soon. Forming a circle around the boy they lick their lips in hunger, but none notice the ball of light coming down from above them.

'Is this it? I am going to die now. I at least got Annabeth home, that's all that matters now.' Percy continued his inner thoughts and didn't notice the bright light slowly coming toward him. Until it was in his face.

"W-What? Is this some trick or is this how Thanatos works?" Percy muttered quietly and with as much force as he could.

"No hero, but I still need you though." A commanding voice rang out. As the voice spoke the light became even more bright. Blinding all the monsters and even killing some. When the light faded the monsters saw nothing but the empty ground and dust piles where their friends were at. Their desired meal has just disappeared and to their knowledge was dead as well.

BREAK

"Now I must be dead because I followed the light at the end of the tunnel and it led me to a castle," Percy spoke to himself not trusting what he was seeing.

A world that seemed to have a royal blue film covering everything around him. Looking down at his body Percy sees his arms and torso seem to be still injured but can't feel any pain. Looking around Percy is able to make out several large buildings and other landmarks he can't tell the name of. A tall White Castle was led to by the street Percy was standing on. No cars or people were on the road either, everything was empty and it felt like no life was there either.

"I can assure you it is not death that you are seeing." The voice that Percy heard from the bright ball of light spoke again.

Turning around Percy saw a tall woman with blonde hair and blue eyes as clear as the cleanest water. She stood wearing what looked to be some sort of robes that display power and the need to be respected. Percy crossed his arms and gave her a look that showed he was used to similar antics.

"Perseus. You have been chosen to be a hero for a group of people that need your help." The woman yelled with a lot of enthusiasm as if it was the greatest job in the world.

Percy just stood there unimpressed, letting his eyes look over the woman for the next few minutes.

"Okay, who the hades are you, lady? I was dead or about to be, and now I'm here in front of a castle for richer-than-rich people. You have some explaining to do." Percy accents each sentence by walking closer and closer to the woman in front of him.

"About that, I understand you are confused and it makes complete sense. As for who I am, I am the goddess Aidios! The great Goddess of Erebonia!" Aidios's voice echoed around the street bouncing off each of the buildings.

"Right. Well, so I was kinda dying back where I was. Not that I am not thankful for being saved but I need to see my friends and help them in the war. So if you could just point me to the exit that would be great." Percy responded and turned a full three hundred and sixty degrees, before noticing no door with an exit sign.

"Oh you misunderstand, child. You have two options, I can put you back where you were dying and you won't see your friends and know if Gaea wins or you can help me and live another day." Aidios smiles as she looks upon Percy as she tells him his options.

"I'm sorry, what do you mean by my options? You took me and now I have to help you?" Percy questioned her with a look of anger crossing his face.

"When you put it like that it sounds bad, but look at it like this you get to help a goddess. Who wouldn't want to do that?" Aidios questioned Percy as if he grew a second head.

"Me, I don't want to be a part of this world anymore. I have helped the gods enough times that I should have some sorta demigod retirement plan set up. Three quests and you're done, I would have no reason to fight anymore. You gods" Percy shouted while weaving his arms around the goddess in front of him.

A flash of annoyance fell upon Aidios's face as she struggled to contain her anger at the way she was being told off. Taking deep breaths she let go of the anger and looked at the child who finished his rant.

"Perseus I understand you have done a lot, I was able to only look at the last couple weeks of your quest to save your world. However, I require help and you're the best I could find. Please help me save my world then I will do what I can to send you back to yours. If I send you back now you will die as fate has it. I can't change that, I was lucky to get you when I did, but if you decide you are done with the fighting I will send you back where you can move on." Aidios said softly as she placed her hand gently on his shoulder.

Percy looked into the blue eyes of the goddess who stood by him. She trusted him, a complete stranger to help her and protect her world. Percy looks upon the street once more to see the lights of the businesses turn on and what looks to be people forming in the street.

"Where did all of these people come from?" Percy whispered not knowing Aidios could hear him.

"A part of the agreement I had to make with your world. I would be able to ask you but I wouldn't try to force you or manipulate you into helping by showing you the people that live here. I agreed to it as it is your choice if you help or not. It is only until you wish to know more about the world do the people appear." Aidios explained.

Aidios raised her hand and waved it toward one of the passing outlines until it became solid and clear enough to see the person. It appeared to be a girl with long wavy golden hair and light blue eyes not too dissimilar to the goddess before him. Percy could see she wore a long dress colored red with white accents running along it.

"She looks very similar to you. Is she your daughter?" Percy looked at Aidios with a questioning look on his face.

"No, she is not, I merely chose to look this way as I thought the blonde would look good on me today. It has nothing to do with the pure cuteness that Princess Alfin has." Aidios answered with a sharp tone.

The two watch as the Princess walks along the sidewalk and ventures into a shop, not knowing she was being watched.

"I'm going to regret this but what can you tell me about this saving the world gig you need me for?" Percy asked with a defeated tone in his voice.

"A great darkness is approaching this world in two years time will this monster appear. Bringing the end of the world with him. But a group of people can fight him and beat him, I know it." Aidios told Percy.

"Okay, and who is this great darkness, and how can he be stopped?" Percy asked, thinking if he could just find out the name he could end the threat himself.

"Unfortunately that is the issue, I have been dormant for so long. The name of the one who is evil I do not know. I know he ended up last at a house on the edge of a border between two countries. What befell that house I don't know." Aidios spoke sadly as she reflected on the choice to be dormant for too long.

"Okay so all we know is a great evil is coming, he stopped at a house at one point, and you don't know what happened there. Fine, what were you doing while this was happening?" Percy questioned after a tired groan exited his throat.

"Me, well I was busy. However, I don't see how that has anything to do with things." Aidios crossed her arms like a child being caught in the act of causing trouble.

"Right, what was the big thing that took up your time at that point? Let me guess you lost a hairbrush." Percy started to laugh thinking back on the countless times the Goddess of Love has asked for help finding the damn thing.

"For your information young man I was looking for my shoes. I lost them and they happen to be my favorite pair," Aidios said smugly. Shoving her chin high up into the air as if she had to point with her chin.

Percy started to calm down from laughter but with one look towards Aidios, he started to crack up again. He couldn't recall a single goddess that he has met that would allow this much fun to be around them. That's also counting Mr. D who is the god of Parties, who should be the god to be around if you want fun.

"Okay tell me all you can, I'm gonna need information about this world if I'm gonna help you." Percy put his hands together as he started to think of a basic plan.

"Thank you! Thank you! Perseus you have no idea how grateful you agreed!" Aidios was smiling with the widest smile that threatened to tear her face in two.

Aidios informed Percy that all the information would take several months to understand, but they couldn't delve into it all.. Percy decided he had signed up for the long haul and sat on the nearest bench he could find.

Aidios proceeded to inform Percy about the history between her rival and her. Deciding to make it simple, Aidios informs Percy of two groups that were made to help battle the great evil. However, it has been many years since they have been in the public eye and they are hidden somewhere in the world.

Percy understood most of the information that came along with the reveal of the dark monster that he needed to face and how it could be tracked. The downside to being dormant for so long is that Aidios couldn't recall the full history of the land. She did give a crash course into the world's most famous wars and history that he would need to know. Percy struggled to remember a lot of the names but he understood how the world worked.

Several hours later inside the strange dream-like world, Percy felt comfortable enough to leave for the world. He still had a lot of reading to do when he was able to get his hands on some books but at least he could know the names of some important historical figures.

"Lastly your powers are going to be working a bit differently here than you are used to," Aidios informed Percy as she started to get to the end of her speech.

"What do you mean like I can get cool ice powers or travel through the water vapor to locations I have been to?" Percy asked with excitement in his voice at the idea of some cool new powers to play with.

"What, no nothing like that. Why would you be able to do that, This isn't some fantasy book you read as a kid. No, your water powers will give you a big advantage since you don't need a battle Orbit to use them. Remember magic here is different from what you are used to." AIdios started to explain.

"Wait, you said there is something called Orbal energy right?" Percy asked cutting Aidios off.

"Yes I will give you a standard combat Orbit but you will need to add your own quartz, I can't do that for you. Remember each Orbit has a certain amount of slots you can put this quartz in. This will enhance your powers for battle. The school can explain everything more." Aidios finished saying as the world around the two started to fade to bright white light, blinding both figures for a short bit.

Percy started to cover his eyes and the last thing he remembers before the light becomes too much is hearing the voice of Aidios one last time.

"Remember Percy, you're a hero!" Aidios' voice was carried out before Percy passed out from the raw energy of the light.

The bright light starts to fade, leaving Aidios alone in the royal blue world as she waits for her chosen hero to complete his mission.
