Chapter 47 Twilight
Its been a month since Faust had tried to bring Hades back to the land of the living.
Only to fail once Goddess had shown up and nearly killed Hades when he threatened to finish off Micheal's bloodline for ruining his plans to come back 200 years earlier.
In exchange for not killing him however though Hades had let Circe free to serve Sean much to her amusement but went with it anyway.
And since Sean had a special night with Diana and her mother.
Right now though.
Sean whistled as he was looking over some reports about new enhanced people.
"How is it that you can never be so bored with looking at reports and yet everyone else is?" Hawkgirl asked amused over him.
"Mom taught me to read through this crap back then knowing something interesting could be seen." Sean said.
"And do you see anything interesting?" Hawkgirl asked making him smirk.
"I'm looking at the source of it right now." Sean said making her giggle as she leaned down to kiss him. "Take that dumb thing off you don't need it." Sean said taking it off showing her green eyes. "I don't even know why you wear this off duty." Sean said making her smile holding her helmet.
"It reminds me of home. When I left through a worm hole and ended up here I had nothing of home with me but this helmet." Hawkgirl said.
"Shayera. This is your new home. And I'm glad you came here. Even if it wasn't on purpose." Sean said as his owns wings came out making her smile.
"Those add to the attractions." Shayera said.
Thats when an Alert came up as the watch tower shook.
"Sensors are picking up a powerful energy sure. But I've never seen a signature like this." Batman said.
"Yes we have. Boom tubes." Korra said as one opened up.
Coming out of it was Darkseid.
"We meet again...Son of Micheal." Darkseid said.
"You." Sean said as Kara glared at him. "And what do we owe the pleasure for your visit?" Sean asked.
"Though it pains me to admit it I came for your help." Darkseid said.
"You must be joking." Korra said.
"Why in the fuck would we ever help you?" Reznov asked.
"Yeah I'm not seeing any logic to this." Julia said.
"The Enemy of my enemy is my friend I believe the saying is." Darkseid said showing a projection of Braniac.
"Is that Brainiac? I thought Kal Destroyed him." Kara said.
"He's more difficult to completely kill than you give him credit for. While you may not care about my world you know what will happen once he's done. He'll move onto the next one. Think on it if you will." Darkseid said leaving.
"Hmm." Sean said.
"We're not actually even considering this are we?" Superman said.
"Brainiac is a danger to the universe. Theres no denying that. And if we can actually destroy him for good it'll make it that much safer. Besides this is an opportunity we can't pass up." Sean said.
"What Opportunity?" Superman asked.
"It's my belief that the worlds Brainiac has collected and destroyed...Could at some point be brought back once the full secrets of the pod I came in is fully unlocked." Sean said.
"Does that include...Krypton?" Superman asked.
"In time yes. And also we have to consider this. We know someone is trying to bring the Multiverse together to fight a great threat. Theres a good chance one of those universes has high level tech that could make this even more possible and theres little to no doubt we'll be seeing them soon in the future." Sean said.
"Thats true." Batman said.
"All right. We'll help but we're gonna do this right. Korra I have a job for you." Superman said.
"I think I already know what that is." Korra said.
Later
Darkseid watched as his forces fought against Braniac but saw they were losing horribly.
Thats when one of his men approached.
"My Lord. Beowulf and the Justice League have agreed to come to our aid."
"Transport them here now." Darkseid said.
Soon a Javilin appeared as members of the League showed up.
"Whoa." Julia said seeing Braniac's ship.
"Looks like Darkseid was telling the truth." Hawkgirl said.
"Looks can be deceiving but that hardly matters at this point." Beowulf said as they flew out.
Meanwhile
A boom tube opened up on New Genesis where Sage, Batman and Wonder Woman came out with the second groaning.
"That was fun." Batman said as they looked around.
"Let me get this straight. Orion is Darkseid's son and Grail's older brother?" Diana asked.
"So we've been told. Apparently they swapped Sons as some kind of peace offering for one another." Sage said.
"I know it sounds whacky to me too." Batman said.
"So why are we here? To bring him in to help? We have Grail and Barda with us." Wonder Woman said.
"True. But having another whose Darkseid's blood can come in handy." Sage said as the ground shook before some beast came out.
"Big surprise. Even on a planet thats peaceful can have dangerous animals." Sage said before some strange grenades went off making it pass out as someone led them away.
Arriving at a clearing they saw it was safe.
"Who are you?" Wonder Woman asked.
"They call me Forager." Forager said.
"We're looking for an old Friend named Orion. We need his help. Do you know where he is?" Sage asked.
"I am just an unworthy bug. Orion is a god who is far above us." Forager said.
"Your too modest. You show courage, compassion..." Wonder Woman said.
"No, no, you don't understand. All the gods are far above us." Forager said pointing up showing an advanced flying city.
"Oooh." Sage said in realization.
Meanwhile
Brainiac was in the process of making something to assimilate this planet as the League fought with Darkseid's forces.
"We can't get past that shield the old fashioned way." Beowulf said to Darkseid.
"Agreed. We need to make an opening in order to attack him." Darkseid said.
"Kal!" Beowulf yelled getting his attention.
"This isn't gonna work just charging in." Superman said.
"We know. Thats why we got a plan. Get his attention." Beowulf said.
Meanwhile
Sage and Wonder Woman flew up with the later carrying Batman.
"Nice. I can see unlike Darkseid, High Father makes sure his people are well taken care of." Sage said.
"It even outshines Atlantis and even my own home." Wonder Woman said.
"We can take in the sights some other time. Let's concentrate on finding Orion." Batman said.
Thats when someone passed them.
"What have we here?"
Thats when he came back.
"Wait a second I know you. Lightray right?" Sage asked.
"Oh, I thought you looked familiar. Sage right? Wheres Beowulf?" Lightray asked.
"Dealing with Brainiac. We're looking for Orion." Wonder Woman said before.

Sage put him in a headlock as they crashed down hard.
"DON'T! Ever do that again!" Sage yelled as she strangled him.
"Easy Korra." Orion said flying down to them. "Sorry about that. He's always doing nonsense like that." Orion said.
"You're worse than Kid Flash." Diana said. (Debatable)
"Why are you even here?" Orion asked.
"Darkseid came to us for help. Apparently Brainiac is attacking." Sage said making him glare.
Meanwhile
"Brainiac!" Superman yelled getting his attention as he threw a pillar at his shield.
"Kal-El, what brings you so far from your adopted home?" Brainiac asked.
"I'm here to end you." Superman said.
"If your father Jor-El couldn't stop me what makes you think you can?" Brainiac asked.
"Drop that force field and find out." Superman said.
"No, I don't think that will be necessary." Brainiac said as he blasted him making a hole as Superman groaned in pain taking it.
"Now." Darkseid said as Beowulf dashed in before blasting Brainiac down hard.
"Beowulf, Sean Noah Ashburn Kruger. Son of Micheal Kruger and blood of the Celestials of Earth." Brainiac said with half his face missing.
"You know a lot about me as I do about you. You're finished." Beowulf said about to end him when he vanished back to his ship before it left.
"This isn't over. Not by a long shot." Superman said as they went back to the Javalin.
Flying after Brainiac they found an astroid with his face on it.
"Oh boy." Sean said as they were pulled in.
"So how do we play this?" Superman asked.
"You, Hawkgirl and J'onn will go and confront Brainiac while the rest of us get that data. With any luck in years to come we'll be able to bring these worlds back and their people." Sean said as Superman and his group left.
Soon they found him on some throne.
"Welcome, Kal-El." Brainiac said. "Once I offered you the chance to join me in carrying on the legacy of Krypton. Today, I renew that offer." Brainiac said.
"You must be joking." Superman said.
"Why do you reject your great heritage? The entire history of your planet it's knowledge and splendor its awe and mystery are encoded within me." Brainiac said as images of Krypton appeared along with Superman's parents. "I am Krypton." Brainiac said making him frown.
"You're a perversion dishonoring the very memory of my father and all my people." Superman said.
"And this is your final decision?" Brainiac asked.
"Read my lips: Go to hell." Superman said.
"Unfortunate but predicable." Brainiac said as his drones appeared and started blasting them.
"Move!" Hawkgirl yelled and they flew away from the drones while destroying them.
Meanwhile
Sean in his Scarab armor was hooked into Brainiac's memory core accessing everything.
"How much longer do you need?" Julia asked.
"Just about...There." Sean said as he had everything. "Man the countless worlds he's been to." Sean said.
"How long do you think it'll be before we can even begin to rebuild them?" Reznov asked.
"A long time unless one of these other universes has something." Sean said. (Smirk)
Meanwhile
As this was going on Superman and his team fought against Brainiac as he made drones to aid himself.
Suddenly however Darkseid appeared before blasting Hawkgirl and J'onn into the ground before taking Superman out.
"It would seem our plan worked out perfectly." Brainiac said.
"Where are the others?" Darkseid asked.
"It matters not. I have what I need." Brainiac said lifting Superman up and they left.
Beowulf and the others soon arrived and pulled them out of the hole.
"What in the hell happened here?" Beowulf asked.
"Darkseid. It looks like they planned this out." Hawkgirl said.
"Why am I not surprised." Beowulf said.
Darkseid and Brainiac were taking Superman to another part of the facility.
"Remember the teams of our bargain. In exchange for Superman, you promised to spare my planet." Darkseid said.
"Agreed." Brainiac said as they arrived at their destination.
"But I still can't fathom why you need him. Surely not for simple revenge." Darkseid said.
"It is quite elementary. Observe." Brainiac said placing Superman in the center of the room with restraints on. "Over the years, I have roamed the universe collecting data." Brainiac said before he floated down to a pod next to countless other bodies of himself. "As my appetite grew, I changed and evolved into what you see today. From this central core, I can send countless drones to every corner of the galaxy to gather more data for my collection. But is not enough. I have reached the limits of my programmed functions. To evolve to the next level I need living DNA from the last Son of Krypton." Brainiac said before Superman was shot with electricity making him groan out in pain.
"Now I become a true life form the likes of which this universe has never seen." Brainiac said before Darkseid unseen placed a device on him making the room glow red. "Wait what have you done?" Brainiac asked.
"Just a minor modification I came up with. You are now under my control." Darkseid said.
"What are you doing?" Superman asked in pain.
"Before, Brainiac had the power to devour planets. Now he can consume an entire universe where I can rule. " Darkseid said.
"Don't be so sure!" Orion yelled as he and the others appeared before blasting him back.
Thats when Beowulf and his team arrived and freed Superman.
"Warning. Termination imminent" Brainiac said as the place started sparking.
"Wheres Darkseid?" Superman asked.
"I'll handle him. It's time I end this." Beowulf said flying off after him.
Darkseid stood over his son as he coughed up blood.
"You make an old man proud." Darkseid said as Beowulf showed up. "Beowulf." Darkseid said before suddenly several predators also appeared.
"Your not escaping this time." Beowulf said with his Glaive out.
"Then It's time to prove which of us is truly stronger. The Ruler of Apocalypse or the Son of Micheal." Darkseid yelled as they charged at one another.
Bewulf in his scarab armor slashed at Darkseid's chest making him growl before he pulled out his holy sword and stabbed his foot.
"Getting slow in your old age." Beowulf said as his Plasma Caster aimed at him before blasting him back making him groan.
Growling Darkseid fired his Omega beam at him but he quickly used his speed to dash at him and got behind him making him hit himself as he growled as the other hunters roared.
"If only I had found you all those years ago. You would have been my ultimate weapon." Darkseid said.
"Somehow I doubt I would have been what you wanted me to be." Beowulf said as he pulled out his maul before slashing at him in the chest making him roar before grabbing his arms as they were in a deadlock as the place began to crumble.
"I can see why Grendel is interested in you." Darkseid said shocking him making him roar head butting him hard making him groan as Beowulf pulled out his spear stabbing him in the shoulder as he bled and quickly pulled out his Glass Greatsword and stabbed him in the other arm making him yell as he glared at him before Beowulf's wrist blades stabbed his eyes making him roar in pain.
Darkseid roared as he pushed Beowulf back before picking up a large chunk of the ground throwing at him but he easily dodged.
"This time I'm not holding back since this place is doomed. If I go all out I could easily cause more damage than it's worth. Here on the other hand though." Beowulf said before blasting his arms off making him roar in pain as he fell to his knees.
"Before I kill you...Tell me this...Who is Grendel." Beowulf said making him chuckle.
"Oh...I know who he is and more importantly what he is. But you'll have to figure that out on your own. The one thing I will tell you however though...He was the first." Darkseid said making him glare as his wrist blades came out again.
Meanwhile
Superman and the others on New Genesis saw a large explosion from a distance.
Batman narrowed his eyes as a boom tube opened up as Beowulf and the hunters came out.
"Wheres Darkseid?" Superman asked as Beowulf held up his head shocking High Father and the others.
"He's nothing but a trophy now. But we may have other problems. He knew about Grendel. My guess is they were aligned." Beowulf said.
"What did he tell you?" Sage asked.
"The only thing he did tell me was he was the First." Beowulf said.
"What the hell does that even mean?" Hawkgirl asked.
"I'm not sure. But we'll find out in time." Sean said before stepping on something making him look seeing a piece of Brainiac. "Oh you gotta be fucking kidding me." Sean said annoyed.
"It figures one piece of this bastard would survive." Reznov said.
"Huh?" Julia asked.
"Any piece of him contains his entire code." Superman said.
"So what do we do with it?" Hawkgirl asked.
"We'll discuss that later." Sean said.
While this was going on Korra grins at Diana which she noticed.
