Chapter 3 scavenger hunt
Blake narration
Yesterday was long day but in a mostly good way first we made it Newtopia, got attacked by giant ants, got reunited with my girlfriend, came clear about my powers, saved the city from said ants, ending with Anne telling Marcy some of her time in Wartwood before she had to leave to fill out a report. Now we are dinning outside a restaurant with Marcy who treating us to lunch.
Normal POV
"Eat up guys this place makes the best beetle burgers in all of Newtopia." Marcy said as we eat our lunch
"Hey what you got there?" Polly asked pointing to Marcy's journal
"Oh, it just my journal. I like jotting down theories and observation. You know all about indigenous fauna, medicinal techniques, customs, and nuance of amphibious species-based caste system." Marcy said but Polly got bored halfway there
"Sometimes I even do drawings." Marcy said showing the group a drawing of Polly eating her burger
"It looks just like me." Polly said with wide eyes
"Sign I love that big brain of yours." Blake said
"Stop it you're making me blush." Marcy said with a blush
"Wow Anne have you been keeping a journal to?" Hop pop asked Anne
"It more a dairy then a journal but yeah." Anne said
"I used to, but I lost it a while back." Blake said as the waiter came up to them
"Now who should I give the bill to." The waiter said
"Oh, I'll take it! It let me guess it 35 coppers." Marcy said
"Right, you are." The waiter said showing she was right on the money literally
"Wow can you guys do math like that to." Hop pop asked
"Math was never my strong suit." Anne said
"Not as fast as Marcy but yeah, I can do that." Blake said
"Can you imagine if Marcy or Blake got stuck with us intend of Anne?" we'd be set for life. Polly said
"Hush Polly think those thought don't say them." Hop pop said
"Yeah well I." Anne said
"Duck!" Blake yelled as an arrow with a note flew by
"Someone trying to kill us." Hop pop said
"No, no it fine it just a message from the king." Marcy said as she walks up unstuck the arrow and grab the message.
"Wouldn't be safer to just to have someone hand delivered it intend of using an arrow?" Blake asked
"Oh, correction a puzzle gram from the king." Marcy said showing message had three clues on it the first was a coral tree with an eye on it the second a dragonfly, a compass symbol, and a w the last was an M above a upside down triangle with a circle symbol. "He basically hidden clues all around the city and I collect them all I get a message ah it so fun"
"Is that a tree or coral?" Blake asked looking at the first clue
"It both which mean we should go to coral park." Marcy said. Now come team it's puzzle time
"A puzzle tour of Newtopia count me in." Sprig said as most of them ran off to coral park
As group were making to coral Blake notice that Hop pop and Polly were missing
"Look like we left Hop pop and Polly behind I'll go back and get them." Blake said
As Blake ran back to the restaurant, he saw Hop pop was about to sign a contact
"What are you doing?" Blake asked
"Oh, I'm just signing up this loyalty program." Hop pop said
"Hop pop those are meant for returning customer ones who eat here all the time and sooner or later you guys are going back to the valley." Blake said
"Oh, I guess you're right." Hop pop said putting his pen down
"Thank frog." Polly said
"Alright then let go we need to catch up with the others." Blake said
As the trio made, they're to coral park they say Anne climbing down from a coral tree holding cat size caterpillar
"Thanks lady." A small pink newt girl said as Anne handed her the caterpillar
"I actually have one just like that back home but with less legs." Anne said
"There you guys are you missed the first puzzle. Anyway, come guys." Marcy said before running off to next clue
"Whoop gotta go don't let thing grow up." Anne said before she and others went after Marcy
"Catch you later." The pink newt said
"So, what did we missed?" Polly asked
"Marcy found the first message it said bring." Anne said
"Well that not surprising those things were made for her and she likely know this whole city like the back of hand by now." Blake said
The group made their way to the museum which has a small dragonfly statue on the roof
"Why the w I mean what it to mean." Marcy asked
"Let me have a crack it." Anne said
"Ok." Marcy said handing the clue to her
Anne looked hard at the clue trying to solve it. "Interesting I got to go to the bathroom BRB." Anne said before running off
"Wait leave us the clue and she done." Hop pop said
"I think the w means west so the message could be on the west side of the museum." Blake said
"That it fellow me." Marcy said ran to the west side wall of the museum
"Ok then." Sprig said
The group fellow her and saw the wall cover in cracks
"The lines between this brick in this west side wall match up perfectly with the street grid of Newtopia." Marcy said holding a map that look very close to the wall. "Which put us right about here." Marcy said as she pulled a brick for the spot it had the word `me' on it. "Me bring me only one clue left to go." Marcy said and was about to run off until Blake stopped her.
"Marcy, have you forgetting that Anne hasn't come back yet." Blake said
"Whoop." Marcy said with blush
"Sign can you three go look for her while me and Marcy figure out where it go next?" Blake asked the planters
"You got it." Hop pop said as three walked off
2 minutes pass as the Planters return with Anne in tow
"Alright now that we're all here let take a look at the final clue." Blake said
"Oh, it referring to the big bridge downtown." Marcy said
As they made their way to the bridge, they saw a gold statue of Marcy on the bridge holding a book in one hand and a double-bladed sword in the other
"I may have made a few suggestions on how to increase the weight limit and they like named it after me." Marcy said
"Wow Marcy you been busy." Blake said really impressed with his girlfriend
"Yes, I here now come on let see where this triangle fit it." Marcy said
"Ok I'm going to see if I can find it from a higher vantage point." Blake said using his vine to get himself on top of a nearby building
"See anything?" Polly asked/yelled
"No, I'm not finding anything that matches the triangle." Blake yelled back then seeing that Anne was missing asked. "Wait where did Anne go?"
"She said she needed a minute alone." Hop pop said
"Well can you guys get her again we need all the help we can get?" Blake asked
"Hey Anne, we are stumped get over here." Sprig yelled
Anne return and they look at the clue
"Ok easy." Anne said thinking hard. "So, a triangle has sides right and three rhymes with tea you brew tea with water and there's water in." Anne said look around for anything that had to do with water as she spotted an open manhole with a caution sigh. "The sewer let go down there."
"That don't sound right Anne and three doesn't rhymes with tea." Blake said
"Oh yeah well, I'll show you." Anne said before running off to the sewer
"Anne get back here." Blake yelled as he and the others chase after her
As Anne made her down into the surprising clear sewer, she found a valve that look kind of like the symbol
"Ha look like I was right this look just like the symbol so I should turn it." Anne said and about to turn it only for a vine to grab her arm pull her away from it
"That it I'm putting a stop to mission prove I not a dumdum." Blake said
"Wait you known about that?" Anne asked
"Superhuman hearing remember." Blake said while pointing to one of he's ears
"Oh, right forgot about that." Anne said
"What mission prove I not a dumdum?" Marcy asked
"Anne is feeling dumb because you're so smart." Blake explains and he let Anne go
"Dude." Anne yelled at him
"Is that truth?" Marcy asked
"Well yeah, I guess I got a bit jealous you guys you're so smart and I'm not." Anne said
"Anne that insane." Marcy said. "Beside I'm jealous of you"
"Huh what for?" Anne asked
"Yeah, what for?" Polly asked
"I mean you get along with people so well. Heck the planter adopted you and would do anything for you. Yeah, sure I'm good at solving puzzle and calculating the check but you're amazing at making connections. And me I have trouble looking people in the eye sometime." Marcy said
"If this is about what Polly said don't worry about it besides, she properly wrong about it anyway I wound have trash the farm trying to get the hang of my powers again and Marcy would have almost burn the house down a few times." Blake said
"Hey that was one time ok." Marcy said
"The point I trying to make is sure you're not as smart as us but that doesn't mean your dumb and you've done a lot for both the Planters and Wartwood so you don't need to prove yourself." Blake said
"Guess you guys are right thanks I needed that." Anne said
"Hey that what friends are for." Blake said
"Yeah, we got your back." Marcy said
"How about we get out of the sewers and take a break from the puzzle it not we're on time limit or anything." Blake said before turning to Marcy. "Are we on a time limit?
"Well, no but I think the king wound like it done by the end day at least." Marcy said
As they exited the sewer to take a walk to clear their heads a voice called out to them
"Oh, hey Anne are these your friends?" A large purple Axolotl women said
"Yeah, these guys are my friends Marcy and Blake guys this is Gertie." Anne said
"Nice to meet you oh, by the way Anne you forgot your gnatchos." Gertie said as she handed Anne her gnatcho back
"Thanks guy the symbol it a gnatchos." Anne said holding a gnatcho that matched the symbol perfectly
They then began to eat the gnatchos as they finish at the bottom of the tray there was a message that reads `The Planters'
"That mean the message said `bring me the planters' guys we been summoned." Marcy said
"Self-esteem boost and an audience with ruler of this world win-win baby." Anne said
"Well then let's not keep him waiting let go lead the way, Marcy." Blake said

AN hope you all enjoy first 3 chapters next time the team will meet the king, Blake will get an overdue bath, a new outfit, and give a history lesson
