The newt and the wolf chapter 11 the temple of heart
Blake's narration
After things cooled down a bit me and Marcy were able to work well enough together to find the second temple's location it's still awkward between us but were working on it. Now we're dealing with a new problem the temple is in the arctic north it's freezing here, and I HATE the cold I grew up in LA sue me
Normal POV
Begin with heroes riding Joe and Merlin across a snow cover mountain range but as they went for a landing the birds slip on an ice lake and crash into a snowbank.
"I hate the cold." Blake said sourly as he dig himself out of the snow.
"Welcome to the amphibian arctic everyone." Marcy said cheerful.
"We triangulated the tacking beam from the green stone and." Blake said taking out the gem from his pocket allowing the beam to show the way only for Hop pop to block it.
"Hop pop move." Polly said.
"Oh sorry." Hop pop said moving to the side.
The second temple must be right through there." Anne said pointing to some trees that the beam was now going to.
After getting past the trees, they found themselves in a misty clearing but thanks to the green beam the mist started to clear enough for them to see an archway with blue crystal which the beam was hitting causing the archway to grow with blue writing in the same language as the first temple.
"Just beyond these gates a grueling perilous temple awaits." Marcy read out loud.
"No, it doesn't." Polly said as the mist fully clear and there was nothing but snow beyond the gate.
"Maybe it invisible." Sprig said try to lend against an invisible wall only to fall down.
"Hey, are you picking anything up mister radar?" Anne asked Blake who sneezed.
"Nope my nose is too runny from the cold, I got nothing." Blake said wiping his nose with his sleeve.
"Hmmm weird all the ancient texts about this temple were super vague." Marcy said.
'Yeah, it just kept mentioned the word heart a lot of times." Blake said.
"Are we looking for something heart shaped?" Hop pop asked.
"Maybe we have to rip someone heart out." Polly said.
"Nope we're not doing that Polly." Blake said.
"Aw man." Polly said just as a bird flew by.
"Hey, wait I know that crazy bird." Anne said and gave chase to find
"Valeriana, Anne don't we meet her at the bizarre bazaar?" Sprig asked.
"You mean that one arm newt that had stuff that look like the music box?" Blake asked.
"Yeah, and she said she been all over amphibia maybe seen the temple." Anne said only to see the out to lunch sign. "Why is she always out to lunch?"
"Because it's the important meal of the day." Valeriana said coming out of hiding behind a tree holding a bug on a stick. "It's been a while creature what being you here do you chance seek a temple to charge an ancient stone?" she said after eating the bug and turning the stick into a stuff pointing it at Anne.
"Oh yes you know about the stones?" Anne asked.
"Indeed, but do you really think you are worthy?" Valeriana asked.
"Well yeah." Anne said.
"Maybe." Marcy said unsure.
"I hope so." Blake said.
"Good enough." Valeriana said with a shrug.
"Oh, I'm Marcy BT dubs." Marcy said holding out her hand.
"I'm Blake and thank you for helping us." Blake said trying to be polite.
"Um nice to meet you." Valeriana said awkwardly accepting the handshake.
"I'm Hop pop." He said cheerfully.
"Polly here." Polly said.
After that awkward introduction the group made their way into the tent to warm up.
"I am the last of an ancient order our purpose was to study the sacred stones and temples." Valeriand explained.
"So, you know where the temple is?" Anne asked.
"Indeed, and you possess the music box." Valeriana said as Anne pulled it out of her bag. "After all these years it has returned I would very much like to hold it." She said in a creeping tone.
"Lady, we barely know you and I'm not ok with letting a stranger hold on to our only way home when she could just run off with it when we're not looking." Blake said a bit harshly.
"Fair enough I can respect that." Valeriand said.
"Good so where is this temple?" Blake asked.
"To get to the temple we must climb the freezing cliffs of mount Mootoo leave your flimsy jackets and wear these caterpillar wool coat instead." Valeriand said toss them their new coats.
"Question why do we have to climb a mountain when we have two birds that can fly us there in no time?" Blake asked.
"Do not question my ways this temple is my responsibility you must do as I say, or you can say goodbye to finding it are we clear." Valeriand said in a scolding manner.
"Yes mam." Everyone said in unison.
"Good now than let's get moving." Valeriand said as she and everyone beside Anne and Blake left the tent.
"Anne, you saw that to, right? Blake asked.
"Yeah, something not right about this lady." Anne said.
"And the way she was looking at the music box all but said I want to steal that." Blake said.
"Come on guys let get a move on." Sprig said from outside.
Later on the cliff of mount mootoo
"Quickly you six I like to make it to the temple in this century." Valeriand said as the other were trying to keep up with her.
"Lady we would already be there if we were using our birds." Blake said.
"How can adventurers so lazy ever hope to conquer the temple." Valeriand said.
"Don't listen to her guy we're almost there." Anne said as she help the planters climb.
Just then Blake's picked up the sound of someone whistling and then a giant cardinal show, up.
"Relax it just a cardinal they don't eat frog." Marcy said as the bird called out.
"Then, why did he say oh boy lunch?" Blake asked nervously.
"Wait what." Marcy said as the bird grab her was its beck.
"Hey beck off my girl." Blake said slashing the bird with his energy claws making it drop her.
"You said it doesn't eat frogs." Anne said to Marcy.
"I was sure that wait cardinals eat caterpillar it wants our coats." Marcy said in realization.
"No, we need these coats to stay warm." Sprig said while trying to not get eaten by the bird.
"And look good." Polly said.
"Hey birdbrain we aren't caterpillars we're just wearing coats." Blake said trying to slash the flying bird to make it go away.
The bird than made an angry call.
"Ok that just rude we are not fat." Blake said while still slashing.
"Marcy what do we do?" Hop pop asked panicking.
"Figure out some way to keep it still so I can slash it." Blake said while keeping the bird away from the frogs.
"Let me think let me think." Marcy said in a panic.
"There, no time." Anne said as she took off her coat toss down making the cardinal give chase which gave them an opening to escape "Now let's get out of here."
The gang quickly climb up the rest of the way the only problem was that Anne was freezing.
"Anne, you save us here take my coat." Hop pop said as he was about to take his coat off.
"No, you frogs will turn into ice without protection I'll be fine as long we reach the temple soon." Anne said shivering.
"It won't be soon you think it was wise to abandon your coat." Valeriand said in a scolding manner.
"Well, I had to do something." Anne said.
"Reckless and defensive very unworthy qualities I must said." Valeriand said while hitting Anne with her staff.
"Hey lady you don't have right to judge us when you didn't even try to help." Blake said.
After reaching of the top of mountain they made their way down the other side.
"It so fortunate that the music box fell into such average hands how exactly did it come into your possession?" Valeriand asked the girls look at each other nervously only for Blake cut them off.
"Don't remember don't care." Blake lied.
"What was that?" Polly asked.
"Just an Avalanche." Valeriand said like she barely cared.
"Everybody run!" Sprig yelled only for Valeriand close his mouth shut.
"You loud little frog baby." Valeriand said luckily the avalanche was headed away from them. "Look like it heading away from us."
"Wait a second look what about that little hut someone might be insides we have to save them." Anne said pointing to an igloo that in way the avalanche.
"How be running towards an Aveline they are lost child I said we press on." Valeriand said.
"Wow no wonder you're the last of the order." Blake said.
"Nut to that." Anne yelled running towards the igloo.
"ANNE." Everyone but Valeriand
She made it to the igloo, went inside came back out and ran to outrun the avalanche and power jump and grab on to a cliff side.
"Anne, we got you." Blake said as he pulled her up.
"Are you ok?" Marcy asked.
"I fine let just find the temple." Anne said.
"Oh, that won't be happening." Valeriand said.
"THAT IT LADY I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR GAMES!" Blake yelled.
"You think game boy my whole life work has been for the order." Valeriand said which made Blake laugh.
"Ha what order oh right it just you and if they were anything like you maybe that is a good thing their gone." Blake said.
"Boy will show me and the order some respect." Valeriand said in a low angry tone.
"Why would I respect someone who I don't trust?" Blake asked.
"What do you mean?" Marcy asked.
"I heard a whistle right before the cardinal attack us, we just happen to find an empty hut in an Aveline zone while in the middle of nowhere and the fact you haven't lift a finger to help us tell me that you were never going to show us temple in the first place your just leading us on a dangerous wild goose chase just to steal the music box." Blake said getting in newt's face.
"Maybe your right it time to end this game." Valeriand said before using her staff to zap Blake with blue energy and tossing him away.
Author note I hate that I had to zap Blake again.
"BLAKE." Marcy yelled as they rushed to help him only for Valeriand to grab Anne and teleport away with her.
"ANNE." They all yelled.
A few minutes later
They were frantically searching for Anne but having no luck when suddenly Anne just appeared out of nowhere.
"Guys." Anne called out to them.
"Anne you're ok." Blake said.
And not all check this out." Anne said as she brought out the music box showing that the blue gem has been restore.
"But how?" Marcy asked.
"I'll explain later but get me out of this cold." Anne said shivering as everyone hug her to keep her warm.
Later in the air
"So that was all a test." Blake said after finish explaining what happened.
"Yep." Anne said.
"Great now I kind of feel bad for yelling at her." Blake said.
"Kind of?" Anne asked.
"Hey, that lady was still rude and zapped me." Blake said.
"Yeah, fair enough." Anne said but unknown to our heroes inside of Anne's bag the blue was flickering.

Author note for anyone who was wondering why Blake was acting mean here he was in a bad mood because he hate the cold and he didn't trust Valeriand.
Just letting you guys know that chapter 12 the haunting of barrel's Warhammer won't be out until late April maybe may if I get writers block but oddly enough the Omakes help with that you know get the gears in my head turning so if you have an idea share it with me.
and death battle suggestion for Blake still allowed but I won't be writing it until Anne gets her death battle and I won't released it until this story is finish I don't want to spoiled anything
