Chapter 107 Powers Gained and Lost
Cosmica has decided to take on Grand Master Sinistar herself.. She's up in the air diving downward towards the evil sorceress who's speaking to her monster on a local beach located on the outskirts of the city. Seconds pass, and Cosmica takes a hold of the evil master as now both of them are plunged right into the ground.. Forgex can't believe the swiftness of the attack.. He looks down and notices a serious hole in the ground where there wasn't one a second ago. He starts walking back slowly when he notices cracking and sizzling sounds, then suddenly everything freezes right in their tracks..
The Power Rangers are the only ones who can move.. They're standing slightly away from their Zords in a vastly deserted area.. They try to use their powers to get to Cosmica, but something is stopping them. The Red Ranger gets frustrated after a bit but soon a soothing familiar voice emerges from the shadows to calm him down.
Myndor-Power Rangers.
They gasp and look up to see a glittery swirling glance of magic in the air. The Pink Ranger says with gentleness.
Pink Ranger-Myndor, is that you?
Myndor-Yes it is me. I know you have the crystals in your possession. That is why I have come to speak with you.
Red Ranger-It's good to hear from you after all this time.
Myndor-And it is good to be able to speak with you all. Now, about the crystals. They were sent to your time by mistake, those and the Energy Core Zords.
The Rangers start making confusing grunts and groans. Myndor continues.
Myndor-Kastra and I created the new Zords, but we didn't have much time to test them out.. Because when we were experimenting on a new formula, we accidentally created a time hole which eventually swept the Zords and the crystals inside. Later we were able to locate the Zords on a certain rock planet in your time. We explained everything to the inhabitants but none of them were able to tell us where the Zords were but of course we knew they were lying because the Zords' power were still emitting signals, but when those signals went dormant we gave up.. I'm sorry Rangers, but due to the Zords still being freshly new I'm afraid we'll.
The Red Ranger cuts him off in a desperate tone.
Red Ranger-Please don't tell us you have to take them back! The Zords are so cool! And we need them. We were even able to absorb all of the knowledge coming from the Zords, which enabled us to use their powers and form the Megazord.
Myndor-Yes but the Zords may still present problems in the near future if Kastra and I don't analyze them to repair their flaws. You must understand.. Believe me when everything is safely clear we'll send them back to you.
The White Ranger asks now.
White Ranger-But what about the Crystals?
Myndor-Although they are connected to the Zords' power, you don't have to return them.
Yellow Ranger-Why not?
Myndor-We only need to analyze the robotic part. Please understand. I know your battles against Sinistar are fierce. Just remember you will get the Zords back. We built them only for you.
The Blue Ranger asks something not so far off..
Blue Ranger-Why does everything look frozen?
Myndor-I froze time for now.
Thunderous sounds are heard and the Rangers look around for potential danger, they end up seeing nothing harmful. So before any of them ask, Myndor has already pondered on an answer. He says.
Myndor-The immense thundering sounds are coming from Sinistar. In a few moments she'll break through the time freeze barrier.
Red Ranger-Myndor you've got to let us use the Zords just once more to fight her. If I know Sinistar, and I believe I do. I'm sure she'll end up growing.
The others agree without haste.
Myndor-That is possible. Your Zords still need to be checked out. As for now, I'd like to present you with something extra your crystals will provide.
Green Ranger-What is it?
The swirling magic starts to pulsate which automatically retrieves the six glowing crystals. The Rangers all watch as the crystals float over to them, then the crystals halt over their heads as soon as they stand right next to each other, starting with Red, Yellow, Pink, Green, White and ending with Blue.
Myndor-With these crystals and your storm cells I will be able to generate new Ranger powers to you.
The Yellow Ranger says sharply calm.
Yellow Ranger-Myndor, we don't have our storm cells.
Pink Ranger-Sinistar has them.
Myndor-No need to fret Rangers. Your storm cells will be here shortly.
Blue Ranger-But how?
Myndor-I am going to get them here. Magically of course.
Myndor's magic works beautifully. Forgex, who's obviously frozen, has the storm cells in his possession.. With a clash of good magic, they vanish from his hands and reappear in front of each Ranger crystal and soon after, the crystals power slowly absorbs the storm cells within themselves. And if your wondering about the black storm cell coinciding with the green crystal. I'll explain.. Once the black storm cell entered the green crystal, the power from the cell mixed in as the others did with their crystals, and have created a black crystal generating strong power. Myndor continues to speak.
Myndor-These crystals were woven from the purest of star power. Although your star gems were the first to be created and given to the druids, we were able to penetrate into the ancient stars of light, hope, and goodness.. And the results have been held within the burning hearts of the crystals that you now have. So now I present to you, Star Storm crystals!
The Yellow Ranger says excitedly.
Yellow Ranger-Oooh this is going to be so awesome.
The newly charged star storm crystals start to glow immensely. The power from the glow begins to emit its essence upon each Ranger therefore causing their suits to sparkle and transform slowly.
Suddenly, a powerful blinding flashing clash of light takes over the Ranger's.. And when its complete, a blinding glow arises and when it dies down, the Rangers are now seen in their brand new suits. Full Bodied Spandex suits with neck braces, white wrist cuffs connected to white hand gloves, skirts for the girls with golden starry trims, star belts with golden holders attached and inside of those holders are their star laser beam pistols. Their outfits are complete with white boots that have at the top a golden starry base. The designs on each Ranger's suit are of their star power and within those stars are emblems of their storm energies that rest upon the middle of their chest areas. For example, the Red Ranger has an image of a star on his chest, and in that star is an image of a bright fiery flame. And also they have a nice looking Universal design of the planets and stars that rests upon their collars in a v neck shape. And their helmets are designed with beautiful and powerful stars that are on the front which allows them to see, and at the top of their helmets are small symbols of their storm energies.
Their body suits start flashing very energetically to complete the power phase, once complete they are all found to be brand new Star Storm Power Rangers. Myndor says to them all.
Myndor-You have become Star Storm Power Rangers. Your powers have been increased and combined with core energy from the stars and the high power force from the elements. I know you will use them well.
The Red Ranger brings up the Zord subject again.
Red Ranger-Myndor will you please let us use the Zords one more time before you take them?
Myndor is about to answer, but another thunderous clash prevents him and this time it causes the whole scene to shake violently. The Pink Ranger shouts out.
Pink Ranger-WHAT'S GOING ON?!
The Yellow Ranger responds to her question frivolously mainly because the answer to the Pink Ranger's question is quite obvious.
Yellow Ranger-OHHHH YOU'RE JOKING….
She stops when the shaking causes them all to fall onto their backs.
Power Rangers-UGH!
Myndor's voice is heard but becomes slightly distorted due to the shaking so the Rangers really can't make out what he's saying. Anyway the shaking turns more violent and actually causes the swirl of magic which is Myndor's spiritual embodiment to completely dissipate. An explosion coming from the beach is clearly heard by the Rangers, the shaking stops instantly after. The Rangers get up and look around, they notice birds flying through the sky and know that the time freeze has been eliminated. The Yellow Ranger doesn't see the swirl of magic in the sky, she says.
Yellow Ranger-Hey Myndor is gone!
The Red Ranger looks back and sees the Zords.. He says now.
Red Ranger-He didn't take the Zords.
White Ranger-Should we use them?
Red Ranger-If we have absolutely no choice. We will.
They all nod in agreement.
Red Ranger-Right now we've got to get to Cosmica and stop Sinistar from what ever she's planning to do.
Black Ranger-Right, so let's go!
They quickly activate their teleportation powers.. Meanwhile, the huge explosion has knocked Cosmica out of the hole with ferocity.. She lands with a hard crash just a few feet away from the spot.. Forgex looks down at her badly hurt body, and listens to her groans of total pain.
Cosmica-OOOHHH!
Just now, red smoke combined with electrifying energy arises from the hole, it becomes so intense that even Forgex becomes frightened. He immediately hides behind a large pile of sand located a little ways away from Cosmica.. She looks up and sees the electrifying smoke rising higher as she tries to get up, but her body won't budge. A huge dark upward blast fires from the hole and immediately a very distorted looking creature leaps up and dives downward towards Cosmica with the speed of light. The creature's fierce land causes the ground to rumble a bit.. It stands above Cosmica looking like its holding a sword, and I say this because its pointing a sharp object right at Cosmica's neck. Anyways to finally make things clear as it comes into view, the creature is revealed to be a hideous looking beast with a female shape. Her body is pitch black slimy looking and slender, also she's completely bald and a very powerful looking star has been implanted right in the center of her forehead, her face has two yellow red eyes, a pointed nose, and a mouth filled with razor sharp teeth. When I said it looked like she was pointing a sword at Cosmica, its not that she's holding the sword which its not really a sword, it's the fact that her right arm has become a red hot blade which is now seconds away from penetrating Cosmica's throat. The hideous creature speaks out in an evil wavy tone.
Grand Master Sinistar-YOU SHALL DIE!
Bursting into action, the Rangers flip one at a time in mid air as a way of presenting themselves.
Red Ranger-YAH!
Yellow Ranger-HIYA!
Pink Ranger-HA!
Black Ranger-HYA!
White Ranger-HEYA!
Blue Ranger-YA!
They stand together as the Red Ranger shouts out towards the newly transformed Sinistar.
Red Ranger-HEY LET HER GO!
With her back towards the Rangers, she doesn't let up on Cosmica to enable herself to completely turn her body to them.. Instead her head turns itself around till its completely facing the Rangers.. They all become disgusted. Grand Master Sinistar then says.
Grand Master Sinistar-WELCOME RANGERS! YOU'RE JUST IN TIME TO WITNESS THE DEATH OF YOUR FRIEND!
Red Ranger-We're not going to let you hurt her!
The Rangers powers activate.. Swirls of magic surrounds them and materializes their weapons.. The Red Ranger presents a triple slash which causes a triple fire beam to emerge and shoot through the sky as he says.
Red Ranger-TRIPLE POWER FIRE BLADE SABER!
The Yellow Ranger swings around once her new powered up weapon as it begins to sizzle with fierce yellow energy known as she says.
Yellow Ranger-THUNDER POWER LIGHTNING BOW!
The Pink Ranger twirls around two separate weapon pieces as they make screeching sounds and glow with pink energy.. She shouts out.
Pink Ranger-SCREECHING POWER WIND JAVELINS!
Next, the Black Ranger pushes forward then brings upward towards him his glowing weapon he soon makes known as..
Black Ranger-DOUBLE POWER HAIL CANNON!
The White Ranger throws up her glowing weapon, and leaps up into the air to catch it, when she lands she presents it as.
White Ranger-SNARLING POWER SNOW STAFF!
And last but not least, the Blue Ranger swirls his weapon around as it clings onto his wrist and hand.. He says when he completely stops swirling..
Blue Ranger-AQUA POWER RAIN SHIELD!
They all rush towards Grand Master Sinistar with their weapons in hand, but Sinistar doesn't budge at all, she just fires a hot beam from her eyes at the Rangers, they see the beam and immediately disperse in ways of rolling, leaping, and just rushing out of the beams way.
Cosmica is using all of her strength to keep Grand Master Sinistar's arm blade away from her neck, but the evil being's strength is proving to be greater. So the only thing she can think to do is give the master a forceful upward kick, which when she delivers, actually knocks the master upward and over Cosmica's body. She lands on her feet perfectly. And when she turns around she sees Cosmica up and running towards the Power Rangers who have just regrouped. She shouts out severely.
Grand Master Sinistar-SAY GOODBYE COSMICA!
She laughs as she extends her left arm which looks normal, at least to her standards. Anyway a supremely powerful dark electrified energy blast emerges from her left arm and hits Cosmica so hard that it prevents her from moving now. She starts to gasp for air as she slowly falls onto her knees. The Rangers come to her aid, but there's nothing they can really do for Cosmica because well I'm sorry to have to say this, but the force from Grand Master Sinistar' blast was so powerful, that when Cosmica finally fell upon her stomach her life force slipped away. The Power Rangers all cry out and lean down at Cosmica when they realize she has died.
Yellow Ranger-OH NO! COSMICA, WAKE UP!
Pink Ranger-PLEASE DON'T LEAVE US!
White Ranger-COSMICA YOU CAN'T GO!
Blue Ranger-PLEASE!
Black Ranger-THIS ISN'T HAPPENING!
Red Ranger-DARN IT! COSMICA YOU'VE GOT TO WAKE UP!
Grand Master Sinistar starts to laugh uncontrollably now. She speaks to the Rangers in a mocking tone.
Grand Master Sinistar-Oh Cosmica, you can't leave us! Hahaha! Pathetic Rangers! Emotions are the downfall of all you insipid humans! Your friend is dead, and she's not coming back! I.. Grand Master Sinistar will win this battle!
Each Power Ranger, now filled with so much anger, stands up one by one. The Red Ranger looks directly at Grand Master Sinistar and says in a serious way.
Red Ranger-You have plagued us for so long! It's time to cut the drama and take you out!
Grand Master Sinistar laughs again..
The Blue Ranger looks down at Cosmica and takes notice that her body is fading away. He tells the others and they vow that they will avenge her death. The evil master continues to speak after her period of laughter is over.
Grand Master Sinistar-I'm going to wipe the face of the Universe with your Ranger corpses! So prepare yourselves!
They do prepare themselves and move in for the kill. Grand Master Sinistar stands her ground and dodges an attack from both the Pink Ranger and the Black Ranger, she immediately retaliates by using both of her hideous legs to super kick them up into the air, she then leaps up with the quickness and conjures up a deadly powerful wave that becomes absorbed into her arm blade, she then gives both Rangers a painful slash which causes them both to scream out in agony as they fall from the sky only to crash deeply into the sandy ground.
Pink Ranger-UGHHHH!
Black Ranger-UGHH!
Then after landing, the Yellow Ranger attempts to subdue her by giving her a double front kick but this tactic doesn't work because Sinistar blocks the kick, the Yellow Ranger then swiftly swings her left leg in another attempt to strike Sinistar, this only makes her laugh for she has ducked out of the way and counterattacks by giving the Yellow Ranger a super high demon punch which forces the Yellow Ranger to be knocked away from her.
Yellow Ranger-UHHHH!
Using her snow staff's power, the White Ranger comes up from behind Grand Master Sinistar twirling it around and materializing a snow blasting storm which she directs right at the evil being. The very cold snow blast seems to be knocking Sinistar down a peg, but this is only temporary. She turns to the blast and uses her own power to stop it.. Then she rushes over to the White Ranger, snatches her staff out of her hands and gives her a triple mid air kick which sends the White Ranger reluctantly flying away from the scene.
White Ranger-WHOOAAA!
Grand Master Sinistar does nothing with the staff, she just throws it upward into the heart of the sky. Now, both the Red and Blue Rangers strike her together with their weapons. The Red Ranger manages to cut through Sinistar' unearthly rough outer skin with his triple blade saber, and so her chest and stomach area's begin to bleed. She becomes really angry now as she says.
Grand Master Sinistar-GRRRRR! RANGER IDIOT!
She takes his triple blade saber and strikes him and the Blue Ranger with it with furiousness. She then opens her mouth and out comes a mess of hot flames that blast both Rangers together, they scream out in pain as their suits set off small explosions. Then with another serious strike to both Rangers, they fall onto their stomachs.
Red Ranger-AHHHHH!
Blue Ranger-AHHHH!
The Red Ranger punches the ground and says.
Red Ranger-MAN! WHY CAN'T WE EVER BEAT HER!?
Grand Master Sinistar responds to that.
Grand Master Sinistar-It's simple silly Ranger! I cannot be beaten! My Powers are not to be reckoned with!
She watches as the other Rangers coming back trying to regroup, but they're hurt badly and so she laughs at their feeble attempts. She then decides to say but is interrupted by her minion Forgex, who has just decided to speak out after watching his master beat the Rangers. He says.
Forgex-Master Sinistar. The storm cells are gone. I don't know how..
She cuts him off as she turns to him..
Grand Master Sinistar-I know that you idiot!
She turns back to the Rangers and gives them a seriously evil grin.
Grand Master Sinistar-You think because Myndor managed to acquire the storm cells and form them into a new power that you'd be able to stop me?! Hahaha! And that weak time freeze barrier he put up! I destroyed that so easily! Ha!
The Red Ranger responds in a weakened way.
Red Ranger-You'll be defeated.. Ugh!
Grand Master Sinistar-Wishful thinking has never had any merit Ranger! I am invincible!
Forgex asks now.
Forgex-Master what do you want me to do now?
Slowly she turns back to him and gives him a cold dead look, and of course this frightens him. She commences on with her speaking which is in a manner of darkness.
Grand Master Sinistar-What I want you to do now is.
She points her arm blade at him and says as she releases a deadly powerful blast.
Grand Master Sinistar-DIE!
The blast completely rips through Forgex's body with ultimate fierceness. Immediately after the blast disappears, Forgex's body is now seen ripping apart.. Seconds later, his remains disappear in a super high explosion.
Grand Master Sinistar turns back to the Rangers and begins to grow to a humungous size. Once finished, she looks down on them and fires a heavy electrical power blast at them, immediately the Rangers even though hurt, manage to get clear of the attack.. Grand Master Sinistar shouts out as a sort of new idea surfaces inside of her mind.
Grand Master Sinistar-I AM GOING TO FINISH THE DESTRUCTION OF THE CITY!
They all rush away from the scene and regroup not to far away from the beach. Actually they have made it back to their Zords.. The Red Ranger speaks out in a sort of weak way.
Red Ranger-I knew.. Sinistar was going to grow, I just knew it!
Yellow Ranger-Yeah, so now we have to use the Zords.
Pink Ranger-I don't like the idea after what Myndor said.
Blue Ranger-Yeah but what choice do we have?
Black Ranger-We have no choice at all.
White Ranger-It's either we use the Zords to protect the city, or let Sinistar destroy it completely.
Red Ranger-We will NOT let that happen!
Lightwing appears in a desperately frantic way.. He loses flight and ends up falling from the sky.. The Yellow Ranger spots him and catches him in her arms. She looks down at him and asks.
Yellow Ranger-Lightwing what is it?
Lightwing-A monster is really ripping the city apart now!
Yellow Ranger-It's Sinistar!
She looks at the others and says seriously.
Yellow Ranger-We have got to stop her now! The people depend on us!
She looks back at Lightwing and asks him.
Yellow Ranger-Are you going to be okay?
Lightwing-Yes. I'll be fine.
He flies up from her arms and says.
Lightwing-Get going Rangers!
White Ranger-Right!
They all teleport into their Zords and once inside, they activate them. But before confronting Sinistar, they decide to form the Megazord.
Meanwhile, Grand Master Sinistar is destroying everything her previous monster Compactiaris didn't, I mean she's really ripping through the city at high velocity, luckily there are no people around. And now she's just about to leave the uptown area when the Megazord appears right in front of her, she stops.
The Power Rangers inside, send out a command that makes the Megazord give Sinistar a double punch to the face, and that's not all. The Megazord also gives her a hard front kick, a side kick with its left leg, and finally it swings its right leg around swiftly to deliver a kick so strong, that it sends Sinistar flying away from the uptown area. The Rangers cheer at first, they stop when inside surges start to spark tremendously. The Yellow Ranger gasps.
Yellow Ranger-Oooh! I think we might of used too much power!
Red Ranger-Yeah no doubt!
The surges start to get worse. A lot worse.
I do have good news though. The Megazord's kick it gave Sinistar managed to knock her right out of earth's orbit.. She ends up returning to her normal size and crashing right into her moon palace.. The impact nearly destroyed it. She says out in a weak tone.
Grand Master Sinistar-I'LL.. BE.. BACK.. UGH! COUNT.. ON.. IT!
Back on earth, the surging inside of the Megazord gets so bad that it forces all of the Rangers out.. When they land back on their feet, they look up and watch as the Megazord falls apart.
Pink Ranger-Oh my!
White Ranger-What do we do now?
Black Ranger-Don't know.
Yellow Ranger-Shouldn't we try to contact Myndor?
Red Ranger-Good idea.
Lightwing appears and says to them.
Lightwing-Rangers. Myndor is sending something to get the Zords.
The Red Ranger turns to him and asks.
Red Ranger-How do you know that?
Lightwing-While you were fighting with the Megazord, he contacted me and I told him where you were. So he's going to collect the Zords soon.
The White Ranger asks now because she's concerned on whether Sinistar will be back in a few minutes.
White Ranger-Lightwing would you happen to know what happened to the monster we just knocked outta here with the Megazord?
Lightwing concentrates and finally gets a magical answer.
Lightwing-Well right now I sense no monsters on earth. And this also reminds me.. There's no trace of Chaos anywhere either.
Yellow Ranger-Chaos?
Lightwing-The ancient evil I sensed a little while ago. It just completely evaporated.
They all sigh with happiness.
A few hours pass and everything in Terra Falls is back to normal thanks to Lightwing's magic. He even found the pillars of energy and destroyed them. Myndor has collected the broken pieces of the Megazord and has taken them back to his time where he and Kastra can properly repair them. Everyone returns to the beach wearing clothes with respect to their Ranger colors. They all stand together at the spot where Cosmica had taken her last breath. They pay their respects to their lost friend, and vow once to avenge her death..
