READING THE FOX SCROLL was taken down on June 24/2021(Thursday). I added a link to its new home on my wattpadd. I used the original docs (hence the Ans) but the format is a bit different due to the different site.
AN1: Sorry for the long wait on this and all updates… been really busy and writer block. Recently I have gotten back to writing so still hoping I have fans who like my content. This is a long chapter albeit probably only rough a 'chapter' worth of content (if people are following the manga). But hey its literally something I have been working on for awhile.
I am sure a lot of people DON'T read the bottom author notes (despite so much stuff being explained). Anyway, I did have this massive idea where Wendy (SPOILER) lives with Naruto (who has his own house) but I was pretty sure I would get trolled with guest reviews calling Naruto inappropriate due to the age gap. So Lucy and Wendy live together (both are girls on the same team and actually rather similar in personality.
I know June 28/22 is the 2nd anniversary of this story so I hope I can get a chapter (or few….) before/during that time!
Chapter 48 Fairy Tail Newest Dragon Slayer
The alliance soon went their separate way although Lyon did stop Fairy Tail before they left.
"Hmm? Is there something you want to say to Gray?" Lucy asked curiously knowing of their rivalry albeit seeming much friendlier then when they were on Galuna Island.
"Nah. This is for Naruto Uzumaki." Lyon replied as Naruto gave him a nod.
"I am guessing I'ts from my adorable student Sherria-chan?" Naruto asked with a grin as Lyon nodded.
Naruto did not notice Wendy frown making Carla narrow her eyes.
'Wendy is being abit more annoyed than I would have thought… What exactly happened during these so-called classes?' Carla thought suspiciously.
'Other.' Naruto corrected to himself as he absentmindly remembered Yukino and Wendy as well.
"She said 'If you ever meet my jerk of a sensei tell him I am going to surpass you one day and make you regret not being part of Lamia Scale!" Lyon said as an angry and huffing Sherria appeared in Naruto head.
"Haha. Well, you can tell her I will be waiting always. She can challenge me anytime and any place." Naruto replied with a grin.
"It is the Sensei's greatest wish to be surpassed by their students after all." Naruto mentioned softly as Kakashi, Jiraiya and his father appeared in his mind.
"I will be careful with that promise. The way Sherria is advancing its pretty astounding." Sherry warned putting her hands on her hips.
'At the rate she is progressing she will surpass me before long.' Sherry thought.
"Best of wishes returning to your guild." Naruto replied as the Lumia Scale members waved their hands and went on their way.
"Time to head back to Fairy Tail!" Erza declared as her, Lucy, Gray, Happy, Natsu and Naruto raised a fist in triumph.
Natsu face turned blue with fear.
"What's wrong Natsu?" Happy asked his best friend.
"We have to go back on that death trap!" Natsu whined as he turned to the carriage with a look of hatred.
"Of course. How else are we are we going to travel back the guild?" Lucy asked crossing her arms over her abundant chest.
Erza roughly grabbed Natsu by the scarf and pulled him into the carriage as Gray trailed behind with a massive grin. However, his grin faded when an annoyed Erza grabbed Gray and threw him afterwards as she sat down next to Gray. Happy flew in and dropped onto Natsu head.
"Well? Are you coming or not? We have to hurry and get back to the guild to give our report to Master!" Erza called out crossing her arms.
"Yes Maam!" Lucy chirped immediately as she rushed into the other side followed by an amused Naruto.
'Erza-san is really beautiful but kinda stern.' Wendy thought as she watched the bustier blonde turn rather meek in front of the beautiful red haired knight.
Wendy followed in with Carla sitting on her lap with a slight huff.
Soon the carriage started to move at a leisurely pace back to Fairy Tail and Magnolia Town.
"Sensei…" Wendy whispered into Naruto's ear.
"Yes?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Why was Natsu-san so worried to get in?" Wendy asked with a cute tilt of her head.
Naruto resisted patting her on the head while Lucy resisting glompong the younger Dragon Slayer.
"Dragon Slayers get motion sickness if they travel in moving vehicles." Naruto explained as he pointed at Natsu who face with green and looked half dead.
"Oh! Grandeeney mentioned that before but I have never seen it before." Wendy admitted as she looked rather interested in Natsu's condition.
'Grandeeney must be Wendy-chan's Foster Dragon mother like Igneel is to Natsu.' Lucy thought.
"Wait! Why doesn't Wendy get it?" Natsu shouted just before he puked out the window.
While everyone looked at Wendy with interest, she started to get nervous and played with her hands.
"Sorry I don't know!" Wendy replied finding the attention rather daunting.
"Its alright. The easy way to think about it is that Dragan Slayers first manifest Motion Sickness at different times. However, a general rule of thumb is the more you use your magic offensively the quicker the symptoms manifest. Wendy-chan has only started recently to use her magic offensively while Natsu constantly uses his offensively." Naruto explained calmly as Erza gave a nod. AN2:
"I suppose that makes as much sense as any." Erza commented.
Carla chose this time to speak.
"Does that mean you will get motion sickness as well? It does seem your Dragon Slayer magic is rather strong." Carla asked.
Her slight sneer showed everyone she took more then a bit of pleasure at the thought of Naruto having a weakness. Wendy frowned at her long-time friend while Naruto resisted rolling his eyes.
Naruto shook his head "Nope. My body was already conditioned to handle stress long before I received the power of the Dragon. Unlike the other Dragon Slayers my body does not go through the process of the side effects of Dragon Slayer Magic." Naruto explained as he stretched his arms.
"Lucky!" Natsu grunted and even Wendy mumbled.
'Side effects?' Gray thought noting that it sounded like motion sickness was not the only eventually side effect of Dragon Slayer magic.
'As if I would let myself be 'driven mad by power' or develop that sickly Dragon Seed.' Naruto mentally scoffed. AN3:
"Tch. That little seed didn't even exist for even a minute with us in your body. Like I would let my partner turn into a weak dragon." Kurama scoffed rolling his eyes as Naruto smiled softly in response.
'I only need YOUR power, right?' Naruto mentally teased as Kurama grunted as they both remembered Kurama response on why he refused to let Fukasuka the Sage Toad to fuse with him in Sage Mode.
"Please kill me!" Natsu moaned as he hurled his stomach out of the window again much to Gray's annoyance while Lucy give him a look of pity.
"Wait!" Wendy said suddenly as she gained a look of determination.
Wendy stood up from her seat as her hands glowed blue and she placed them over Natsu's face much to everyone confusion.
"Troia." Wendy said calmly as she focused with Natsu's face returning back to normal as he gasped.
Wendy stood back as Natsu looked around and patted his face before the hugest grin appeared on his face.
"Wooh! I feel like I am back on ground again!" Natsu cheered as Happy happily flew onto his shoulder.
"Wendy-chan was that Sky Dragon Magic?" Naruto asked with a curious expression.
"Hai! Grandeeny taught me Troia 'in case' although she never told me why." Wendy admitted thoughtfully.
'It was probably in case she ever met a knucklehead like Natsu.' Lucy thought drily.
"That's is very impressive. Even my treatment for Natsu's motion sickness does not appear as effective." Erza said in amazement as Gray, Lucy and Naruto shuddered at Erza's idea of 'treatment'.
'Yeah, I would say a magic that cures or at least treats Motion sickness is better then knocking someone out while they have it.' Naruto thought cheerfully.
"Happy! I am free! No more fearing trains!" Natsu cheered as he was leaping up and down much the embarrassment of his fellow Fairy Tail members.
"Actually…." Wendy looked a bit disheartened.
"Troia only cures motion sickness for short periods of time and if I use it continuously without breaks the effects will be reduced and eventually useless." Wendy admitted twiddling her thumbs while Carla sighed.
Natsu looked like he got shot in the heart.
"No! Why is life so cruel! I finally get the taste the freedom of carriage ride without issue only to learn its temporarily!" Natsu cried out as he sunk into his seat in depression.
"Dude, you have to get over yourself. I mean you had it for years right and you are crying because its not magically disappearing? Pathetic." Gray sneered.
"What did you say?!" Natsu shouted as he butted heads with Gray.
"Boys settle down!" Erza said sternly as she bonked them both of the head and happened to knock them out at once.
"At least Natsu motion sickness is cured again." Erza said with a smile oblivious to her childhood friends in the realm of sleep.
"Hehe. Of course, Erza-san." Lucy said with a fake smile while also trying to avoid looking at the busty S-class wizard.
Naruto just shrugged but did make a mental note to learn Troia from Wendy later on in case.
'These Fairy Tail members are all hooligans and insane!' Carla mentally decided as her initial thoughts that the Redheaded Knight appearing to be level headed were proven wrong.
Wendy looked both impressed and abit gobstopped at Erza's method of 'healing'.
'Erza-san is so strong and beautiful.' Wendy mentally thought dreamily.
'But she does seem stern at times.' Wendy mentally remarked.
While Gray and Natsu took an unexpected nap, Lucy couldn't help but clap with her eyes sparkling.
"Lucy?" Naruto asked with a somewhat amused expression.
"Sorry. Its just pretty amazing with Wendy-chan and Naruto having Sky Dragon Slayer magic the guild will have fair less injuries!" Lucy noted as Wendy blushed hiding behind her fingers.
"That's true. I don't believe even Master has healing magic. We have always had to let our bodies naturally heal after training or battle." Erza added with a nod of approval.
However, Carla was not pleased at the insinuations.
"Listen here! I keep telling you that Wendy Sky Dragon slayer magic takes massive amounts out of Wendy own magic power supply. She cannot heal every little scratch you and your careless members!" Carla snapped crossing her arms while Wendy sighed. AN4:
While Erza and Lucy looked abit sheepish as they forgot it took Wendy own reserves to heal others Naruto scoffed.
"Well luckily now that I can freely use Sky Dragon slayer magic then Wendy-chan doesn't have to exhaust her own reserves." Naruto retorted as Carla frowned but nodded stiffly.
'Now I can protect and heal everyone.' Naruto thought mournfully as Neji dying body appeared in his head.
'If only I had this power back, then maybe…' Naruto thought sorrowfully for a moment before it passed.
While Lucy and Wendy gave him huge smiles of approval only Erza caught his momentary look of sadness.
'Naruto once again closed himself off. What happened that made you want Sky Dragon healing magic? Were people hurt in your past?' Erza thought sadly.
A few hours later the newly expanded Team Fairy Tail was back in Magnolia and soon they were in front of the Fairy Tail Guild Hall. Gray and Natsu had woken up grumpy but quiet unwilling to risk the anger and annoyance of Erza Scarlet.
"Wow Carla! It's the REAL Fairy Tail guild hall!" Wendy nearly squealed in delight as her eyes sparkled standing a few feet from the entrance.
"Hmm it does look homey I suppose." Carla noted the simplistic design.
Lucy grinned at the younger girl feeling a stab of nostglia.
'This must have what I looked like when I came here with Natsu huh.' Lucy thought happily as she remembered how amazed she was.
While Wendy was gazing at the door with sheer fangirlish delight Erza turned to Naruto.
"I suppose we are the S-class wizards so we should report to Master right away." Erza suggested as Naruto nodded.
'Time for the Geezer to yell me ear off for not trusting my comrades.' Naruto thought abit sourly.
'Not that I regret going after these guys.' Naruto thought defiantly.
'I do understand Master position though and I am sure it would be same for a Kage back home…. Back there as well.' Naruto admitted sombrely as he almost called the Elemental Nations home again despite knowing he couldn't go there anymore.
'Naruto.' The Tailed Beasts inside of him couldn't help but sigh unhappily as they cared deeply about Naruto.
Erza opened the door where it appeared most of the guild was already inside in various conversations.
"Guys! Its Erza and Naruto-kun!" Mira shouted being the first one to see the S-class wizards.
Everyone turned around as Makarov leapt forward to greet them.
"Welcome back you two. How was the job?" Makarov asked with a smile as he had a beer in hand.
"The job was completed with no causalities and very few injuries." Erza reported as Makarov nodded.
"Master…." Naruto said stiffly with a bow.
"Naruto…" Makarov replied with a neutral expression.
The guild had gone quite having noticed the exchange between the blonde and their Master.
"I…" Naruto started beginning to apologize before Makarov grinning jumping to clap him on the back.
"Well done my boy!" Makarov chuckled much to Naruto's confusion.
"Huh?" Naruto asked titling his head in confusion.
"The Magic Council has reported that the alliance was a success and Jura sent me a personal message telling me how glad he was you were on the mission! I mean taking on 6 S-class wizards is no small feat!" Makarov bragged as everyone except Naruto and Erza jaw dropped to the ground.
Lucy, Gray, Natsu, Happy, Wendy and Carla had snuck in and resisted laughing at everyone's expression.
"Of course, he told you about me defeating them all." Naruto said grumpily as he wanted to downplay his contribution but Makarov saying it to the entire guild would make it impossible.
'Hmm I have to tell Master about the girl with Cobra as well.' Naruto thought as he pretty sure nobody besides him saw him take the snake that wasn't really a snake.
"Naruto-Nii really beat 6 class-Wizards by himself?" Lissanna asked with starry eyes full of admiration.
"Naruto is the Manliest Man to ever live!" Elfman claimed with crying 'manly' tears much to several people notable annoyance.
As everyone was circling around him to congratulate him and ask him questions Naruto had an eye twitch.
"Alright! Listen up!" Naruto shouted making everyone take a step back.
"Everyone is making out the mission I went on some kind of big achievement or big boom. The truth is I didn't care who I was fighting. All I wanted was to bring our friends home and bring the Big Bad Orecian Seis to justice!" Naruto declared crossing his arms as he sent a glare at Makarov who looked abit sheepish.
"Hehe, I suppose I should have shown my appreciation in private." Makarov admitted as he realized he unintentionally made Naruto's achievement a spectacle once again.
Naruto sighed before someone slid next to him putting his face into her large and soft cleavage.
"Aw cutie is all embarrassed about being praised. That is so sweet!" Cana cooed as she kept his face securely into her breasts. AN5:
Most of the men of the guild got nosebleeds at the erotic sight with Makarov, Wakaba and Macao openly having heart shaped eyes at the image. Bickslow had a perverted smile, Evergreen frowned when she saw Elfman trying to control his blush, Freed sighed at the sight.
Carla looked annoyed at the sight while Wendy was gaping at the open affection and in jealously of the taller and much bustier girl having time with her beloved Sensei.
'Big… Not fair….' Wendy thought as Cana was comparable to Lucy and Erza who she met with amazing figures.
'Oh oh… Mira-Nee is going to blow a gasket!' Lissanna thought in worry as she glanced at her older sister who had a sweet smile with her eyes closed but a demonic aura in her 'normal' state.
'Why that little!' Mira mentally raved as she was respecting Naruto decision to not rush into a relationship something the busty Brunette seemed to have no intention of following.
"Hmmm…" Erza said with a thoughtful expression.
'Its just Naruto but why do I feel uncomfortable with his face in Cana's chest?' Erza thought as she put a hand on her chin in thought.
Lucy put her hands on her hips in indignation and jealousy although she would deny the latter.
"Dad please try to look abit dignified. Cana is way younger than you." Romeo whined but he did have a blush on his face.
Juvia glared openly when she saw Gray have a blush on his face.
'How dare Cana-san try to seduce my beloved Gray-Sama by putting Naruto's face into her chest! This must be an attempt to make my beloved stray!' Juvia rationalized as her body flickered from 'solid' to liquid continuously.
Levy was looking at Gajeel with a look of surprising suspicion as he tried to look away from the shorter woman.
'Okay I don't wanna channel my inner 'Pervy Sage' but this kind of hug is a lot more comfortable then one with Erza armour top.' Naruto admitted as could not lie and claim he was not enjoying the busty Brunette affection on his face.
This kept on for about a minute before Carla (noticing that Wendy was going to pass out) decided to shout her vocal opinions out loud.
"You harlot! How dare you act so indecent in a public place!" Carla shouted in a shrill voice which echoed in the mostly silent guild hall (besides Naruto half hearted grunts to get Cana to release him).
"Hey who was that voice?" Max shouted as everyone looked around for the source of the voice.
"Excuse me? I am standing right here!" Carla said indignantly as everyone turned to an annoyed white cat sitting in the arms of a small embarrassed blue haired girl.
"A cat?!" The guild shouted besides Naruto's team.
Happy dropped his head in shame.
"Why don't I get those kinds of reactions anymore?" Happy pouted as Natsu gave him a dry look.
Lucy decided to be a peace keeper as she stepped next to Wendy and Carla.
"Guys. This is Carla and Wendy-chan." Lucy introduced as Carla huffed while Wendy bowed her head.
"Pleasure to meet everyone. I am Wendy Marvel and I would like to join Fairy Tail." Wendy said in a polite and formal voice as Carla frowned.
Mira the unofficial greeter of Fairy Tail stepped up with a warm smile.
"Well, hello there. Nice to meet you both. My Name is Mirajane Strauss but feel free to call me Mira." Mira said warmly as she put a hand in greeting.
"Hmph so you the famous Mirajane huh. I suppose I can see the appeal." Carla noted as Elfman frowned at the cat.
However, Wendy was awestruck as her brown eyes turned into star shaped.
"Wow! It's the real Mirajane-san! She is so pretty and kind!" Wendy squealed as Mira smile turned warmer.
"Aw. Aren't you sweet? That is very kind of you Wendy." Mira cooed as she clapped her hands together.
Natsu and Gray turned to Lucy who had an embarrassed expression on her face.
"I think you were like Wendy when you joined." Gray noted with a sly smile.
"Yeah, I am pretty sure you were holding a Sorcerer Weekly article that day." Natsu teased as Lucy got flustered.
"Shut up! I couldn't help that Mira-san is so famous and happens to be in the most rowdy guild in Fiore." Lucy defended herself crossing her arms indignantly.
"Master. Carla is a flying cat like Happy." Naruto explained with a somewhat flat voice.
"Wendy-chan is a Sky Dragon Slayer who can utilize both healing and wind magic." Naruto explained with a notable warmer and prouder voice.
"Dragon Slayer?!" Most of the guild shouted in excitement.
'That little girl is a Dragon Slayer like us?' Gajeel thought in disbelief.
This announcement had the effect of getting the guild MUCH more interested in the young blue haired girl now.
Soon dozens of members started to crowd her despite Lucy, Gray and Natsu's attempts.
"Hey guys back up!" Lucy shouted.
"Give her a little space!" Gray shouted as the crowd started to inch closer to them.
Wendy started to have a small hysterical attack as dozens of people she didn't know crowd her looking far too interested in her meek opinion.
Naruto narrowed his eyes in overprotective master mode.
Naruto clenched his left hand then a whirlwind appeared and sent the dozens of people flying clearing the are around Wendy and his team as he stepped forward in front of Wendy.
"That is more then enough." Naruto said coolly as blue wind surrounded him making the people who crowded Wendy have sheepish expressions.
Makarov however noticed something different about Naruto's magic.
"Thank you Naruto-sensei." Wendy said gratefully as Naruto put his hand on her head making her pout as she tried to look up as Naruto gently patted her head.
This got a confused look from the rest of the guild.
"Sensei? I mean that pretty cute but an explanation?" Cana asked with a sly smirk on her face.
"Oh Wendy-chan was one of my three students from that Class Hisui-Hime sponsored awhile ago." Naruto explained.
"Ah that is pretty sweet of you to take care of this cutie." Cana cooed with a wink as Naruto sputtered while Wendy blushed.
'He does look good being this protective.' Mira thought as an imagine of small white haired boys with Naruto's blue eyes and whiskers appeared in her mind. If she did not have perfect control over the expressions on her face from many years of being polite to perverted men as a model, she would have turned into a schoolgirl of the thought of having children with Naruto at the moment.
As the group started to hush over the younger girl (at a respective distance as Naruto hand occasionally twitched) Wendy gave Naruto a nod of approval.
"You are getting really good at making your Sky Dragon magic come out instead of Sky Devil Sensei." Wendy praised as Naruto sent the girl a happy grin.
"Wait a minute Sky Dragon?" Romeo shouted along with most of the guild.
"Right. I am a Sky Dragon Slayer too now. Pretty neat huh?" Naruto said non-chalently as if he didn't reveal a second hidden Dragon Slayer element.
"Geez this kid just keeps getting stronger and stronger without fail. Makes us old timers feel like he left us in the dust." Macao commented dramatically.
"Tell me about it. He also seems to get all the ladies without even trying." Wakaba noted sombrely as they saw Lucy and Erza smiling widely at Naruto protective side.
'This is my chance! I know Levy will be impressed if I convince a Dragon Slayer to join our team!' Jet thought victoriously.
"Wendy-chan. Do you have a team yet?" Jet asked smoothly as Wendy blinked.
"Um no? I just got here and didn't know Fairy Tail has teams." Wendy admitted shyly as the woman gave soft coos at the cute Dragon Slayer shyness.
"Well in that case… How about you…" Jet suggested as Levy frowned at her teammate trying to pressure the new recruit into joining their team.
"She has a team. Our team." Naruto declared as he stepped forward next to Wendy.
The rest of his team looked abit shocked at his declaration but nobody had any objections.
"Wendy-chan has really neat magic and unlike these knuckle heads doesn't think fighting is fun all the time.' Lucy thought happily as she already enjoyed the younger girl company.
"I have no issues with Wendy joining the team. Her Sky Dragon Slayer magic will only be a boom to our success." Erza noted in approval.
"I can get behind that. Plus with Naruto, Natsu and Wendy we can declare the only team in Fiore to have 3 Dragon Slayers." Gray noted with a smirk.
Natsu just nodded while Happy eyes sparkled.
"Wait does that mean Carla is joining the team as well?" Happy asked hopefully making several members sweatdrop.
'He is so transparent he might as wear 'I love you, Carla!' hat all the time.' Lissanna thought drily.
"Of course! Wherever Wendy goes I go." Carla snapped putting her hands on her hips as Wendy gave a quick apology on her behalf.
"Actually, there is something I wish to ask the Fairy Tail Master." Carla announced as Makarov stepped forward with a smile.
"Yes?" Makarov responded kindly.
"Is there housing supplied by Fairy Tail? Obviously, Wendy and I do not have housing in Magnolia." Carla asked frowning when most members looked away.
"Um actually… Fairy Tail does not have free lodging… Most people get apartments elsewhere in Magnolia or close by." Mira admitted as she pointed to her siblings indicating they shared housing.
"There is Fairy Hills for females but it is abit pricey for noobies." Laki noted as Cana gave an awkward smile.
'Tell me about it… I still don't know how most of our female members live there! I can barely afford the 70 000 Jewels a month let alone 100 000!' Lucy moaned in her mind.
"How much does it cost?" Carla asked suspiciously as Wendy started to get nervous as Lucy gave her a look of sympathy.
"100 000 Jewels a month and its non-negotiable." Erza informed them firmly as the guild seemed to go quiet like an empty room.
"100 000?!" Wendy and Carla said wide eyed.
'Its not like we have a huge pile left over from Cait Shelter and we would need to go quite a few jobs each month just to make rent!' Wendy thought worried. AN6:
'Oh no! Will we have to live in the streets while we wait for jobs?!' Wendy thought desperately as she imagined her and Carla in an alley with a wooden box.
Wendy instantly turned into 'timid' Wendy and started to pace and was on the brink of tears. Instantly almost every member (in particular the female members whose maternal and sisterly instincts flared up) was about to comfort the poor crying girl.
Mira in particular sent a glare at Erza who did look abit sheepish at her blunt answer.
"Wendy-chan no need to cry! We will figure something out, right?" Lucy comforted Wendy bending down to pat the girl on the shoulder.
Gray decided to speak up first.
"Sorry Wendy but my place is a single bedroom apartment so it wouldn't work out." Gray apoligized as Wendy turned away with a blush.
'Plus your tendency to strip might be even worst in your own house.' The guild thought collectively.
Gray having stripped his shirt and pants off seemed to have reinforced how bad an idea it was.
"Hey Juvia why doesn't she bunk with you? You are a newbie like too." Makarov suggested as Juvia sputtered and shook her head.
"Nope sorry! Wendy my place is a single bedroom place as well." Juvia claimed as Wendy nodded.
'Strange that one time I went over I swore there were multiple rooms… with plushies of me in them…'Gray thought.
'Sorry Wendy. I cannot allow myself to have any roommates till my beloved Gray-Sama moves in and confesses!' Juvia thought dramatically. 'I mean it would be rude to kick you out afterwards so its better if they think I live by myself only.' Juvia justified her 'good manners'.
"Natsu place is a dump so nowhere near manly enough for Wendy!" Elfman claimed as Lisanna and Mira sweatdropped.
"Wendy-chan isn't a man though bro." Lisanna added.
"My place isn't a dump! Its just Happy and I are too busy to keep it clean!" Natsu claimed as Happy nodded.
'Aka the definition of a dump. That option is definitely out.' Carla thought drily shuddering at the thought of living in the same house as 'that annoying cat' Happy.
"Where does Naruto-Sensei live?" Wendy asked making everyone blink as Wendy seem to perk up.
"I actually have my own place in the words although I only really use it to sleep as most of the day I am at the guild hall." Naruto informed her as he started to grin at the obvious solution to Wendy housing problem.
Everyone realized where the conversation was going but none objected more then a certain white cat.
"Absolutely not!" Carla shrieked as Naruto grin turned to an annoyed frown.
"Carla!" Wendy reproached her friend while Carla crossed her arms.
"Wendy! Sensei or not Uzumaki is what 7 years older than you and you are a child." Carla pointed out as Wendy winced.
"Well, I mean Carla isn't exactly wrong." Wakaba noted only to wince when Naruto glare shifted to him.
"We are all older than Wendy by a few years so why exactly am I being singled out?" Naruto asked showing his annoyance by omitting Wendy 'chan'.
Lucy and Levy winced when they saw the normally calm Naruto eye twitch. The guild also stepped back when lightning and wind started to pick up around him.
"Naruto. Calm yourself." Makarov warned as his eyes glowed showing he was getting his Giant Magic ready in case.
Naruto growled but did lower his magic level to the point where his magic stopped manifesting itself.
"Look I get you wanting to be there for your student and everything. Its just a bit odd for a guy who isn't related to be living with a girl who is not even in her teens yet." Macao tried to explain carefully as Naruto eyes narrowed making him wince. AN7:
"Strange. Somehow this conversation did not appear when Gray or Juvia or anyone else name was offered. Just me." Naruto noted as his voice grew colder.
"Its almost like you are suggesting something inappropriate will happen." Naruto mocked with a smile but his annoyed eye twitch showed his hidden anger.
Even Carla started to inch away when she realized she might have overreacted.
However, there was one person who was more worried about Naruto then his reaction.
Wendy quickly ran up and grabbed onto Naruto waist.
"Please don't be mad Sensei. I know nothing would happen and Carla was just being overprotective. She didn't really mean anything would be happening." Wendy pleaded as Naruto expression softened.
"Sorry Wendy-Chan I didn't mean to raise my voice." Naruto apologized as he sighed. Naruto took a deep breath and much to everyone relief his blue eyes had returned to their natural bright blue colour rather then annoyed dark blue.
Naruto smiled before he once again patted Wendy on her forehead and ruffled her hair.
"Sensei!" Wendy whined as several males chuckled at the scene while most of the female cooed at the cute scene.
"Sorry to be the sour milk but we still haven't decided where Wendy-chan will be living?" Levy noted as she frowned.
'If only we had some sort of dorms for new members but since Master is rather…. Open with who can join there is no real way we could fund public housing.' Mira noted with a slight annoyance.
It was well known that Makarov was especially pleased when young attractive woman joined the guild such as Lucy.
"Do we have any sort of ideas guys?" Lucy asked again as everyone looked at each other.
"Oh!" Naruto exclaimed as he clapped his hands together.
"You have an idea?" Erza asked intrigued as Naruto sent her a grin.
"Why doesn't Wendy-Chan bunk with Lucy?" Naruto suggested as he pointed to the Dragon Slayer and Celestial Spirit Mage.
"Huh?" Lucy replied with a blank stare.
"Lucy-San apartment?" Wendy repeated.
"Lucy and Wendy-chan living together?" The guild whispered as Naruto eye twitched.
"Look they are both girls, they are both on the same team and there is only benefits. Lucy and Wendy can split the rent so they only have to pay 35 000 Jewels each which is just over 1/3 the amount of a single room for Fairy Hills." Naruto explained patiently.
Gray nodded in approval with Juvia nodding as well. Makarov gave a nod of approval.
"Sweet and smart huh. Total package." Cana mumbled.
"Well, I suppose Lucy has a decent head on her shoulder." Carla admitted.
"Lucy-san if its too much trouble I can always keep looking." Wendy said with a smile but everyone could see the girl on the brink of tears.
Naruto instincts started to kick in and he had to visibly keep himself from threatening Lucy.
"Its no problem!" Lucy explained much to Wendy joy whose eyes sparkled.
"Its just I didn't expect to have a roommate. However, I think it would be fun to have someone like you and Carla." Lucy admitted with a chuckle.
'Much better then certain people who eat all my food, scratch up my walls, strip naked without warning or go through my private underwear drawer to comment on it!' Lucy thought furiously as an imagine of Natsu, Happy, Gray and Erza appeared in her mind.
'Wendy-chan is very sweet and polite and cute. I don't think I could ask for a better roommate.' Lucy thought happily.
All the sudden a certain whiskered blonde appeared in her mind walking out of her shower with just jeans on.
'Okay not going to think about that again.' Lucy thought embarrassed as she kept her blush almost hidden.
Cana however caught the small amount of red and the subtle glance at the unsuspecting blonde S-class wizard making her smirk.
"Then its settled! Wendy-chan and Carla will live with Lucy!" Naruto announced as the guild cheered.
Lucy turned to Wendy who shyly looked up at her.
"Ok Wendy-Chan the rent together is 70 000 Jewels and is due the first of every month. Since we are splitting it that means we each pay 35 000 each month. The place has all a kitchen, bath and two bedrooms so you and Carla will be sharing one bedroom." Lucy explained as Wendy and Carla nodded.
"Of course. Sounds more then reasonable." Carla said as she sat in Wendy's arms.
"Also please make sure we each have 35 000 on time. My Landlady has warned me she will kick me out if I don't pay it on time. I kinda doubt having a cat and little girl will make her any more sympathetic." Lucy warned as she shuddered.
The guild was in good spirits after the arrangement with Mira and Lisanna in particlaur having warm smiles.
"I am glad Mira-Nee that it worked out best for everyone. Wendy seems really sweet and cute." Lisanna noted happily.
"Me too Lisanna." Mira said warmly although a small selfish part of her was glad that Naruto home still did not have a female roommate not matter who it was.
'Dammit. I never felt this way about any other guy. So this is what love is huh. Kinda selfish.' Mira mused as she was surprised at herself for actually being jealous of a 12 year girl living with the guy she liked.
Naruto went up to Lucy and Wendy much to their surprise. Naruto put his hand out as a puff of smoke appeared revealing a stack of jewels getting the guilds attention.
"Hey Naruto what's that money for?" Natsu asked with a drumstick in his mouth.
"Wendy-chan's first part of the rent. 35 000 jewels ready and paid for." Naruto said cheerfully as Wendy and Lucy looked at the money with wide eyes.
"What sort of trick is this? Nobody just gives 35 000 jewels for nothing!" Carla screeched indignantly as Naruto gave the rude cat a flat look.
"Look I appreciate this Naruto… Like more then you can imagine but is this some sort of pity thing?" Lucy asked hesitantly.
'Not that I don't appreciate it… If anything, its like the sweetest thing ever but I didn't leave home just to be pampered again.' Lucy thought with a mental blush.
Naruto scoffed as he placed the money into Lucy arms.
"Is it so hard to believe? I mean I have offered to pay your entire rent several times before. Half is not as much." Naruto remarked before chuckling.
"Just consider this my way to make sure Wendy-chan has a place to live. I was the one who brought her to Fairy Tail so its my responsibility to make sure she has a good time here." Naruto explained as he sent Wendy a small grin.
"Sensei!" Wendy whimpered on the brink of happy tear as Naruto patted her on the head making her watery smile turn into a pout.
Juvia had a small smile as she noticed Lucy have a slight flustered look.
'Oh? Is lucy finally getting over Gray-sama and moving onto Naruto-san? That is very good.' Juvia thought happily.
"That is very good of Naruto to be so responsible. I am glad to call him my friend and teammate." Erza said warmly as she sat down and started to eat a strawberry cake from gods knows where.
"Manly!" Elfman claimed raising an arm up.
"Yes. He is rather kind and sweet." Mira said longingly as she starred at the blonde with affection in her eyes.
Lisanna smiled softly at her sister knowing that Naruto being an older bother would be amazing and make her sister truly happy.
AN2: I know this doesn't explain Gajeel (which canon glosses over as well) but I said in general. Its more likely in my opinion Gajeel motion sickness fell into "random point in time" (canon Wendy didn't get it till after the Avatar arc-or at least she didn't notice it)
AN3: I did place it into author notes before but I know some people skip them so I thought might as well address it in the main story as well.
AN4: It probably does look like I am bashing Carla (you can probably tell I am not her hugest fan) but its more just her being a bit of a snob and over protective then anything else.
AN5: I know in earlier chapters Cana was a 'No' but I am reconsidering her but not sure yet. She is fun as a flirt kind of character.
AN6: Its just my opinion that's it weird that Wendy and Carla live in Fairy Hill when Lucy constantly complains about her apartment rent (despite it being lower per month). It doesn't make sense how Wendy can afford Fairy Hills when she is shown on the same jobs as Lucy. So this is my story way of showing why she is not going to live there.
AN7: Honestly early when this story was getting started, I was planning for Naruto and Wendy to live together. But when I wrote this I realized I would be getting to get reviews spamming me calling Naruto inappropriate despite his good intentions. This is the story acknowledging to the outsider Naruto and Wendy living together (with the age gap) seems 'weird'.
