Chapter 120 Out with the Old, In with the New Camera
In the early morning hours, say 5:30.. Joey shows up at the old weather station. The sun hasn't come up yet but soon that will change. He gets out of his car and walks towards the front entrance.. By the way Joey is dressed in a simple pair of blue jeans, a light blue t shirt and black comforter shoes. He takes out his key and opens up the front door. The reason why he got up so early is because he wanted to find an old camera he had lost in the station a few months ago before it became the new Power Ranger base.. Actually it was his first camera he received from a good friend the day he got the job as cameraman for the old weather station. So anyway he started to think about it and got the urge to search early simply because he wanted to.
He goes through the untouched offices, through the desk drawers, the file cabinets, any place he thinks his old camera might be. Not wanting to give up, he makes it to one last room, its not a room actually. Its just a small closet with a lot of old objects inside. He digs through and finally finds his old camera after about two hours. I must say his camera isn't a video camera.. It's just a plain ol Polaroid camera which can produce an image in less than 60 seconds. He leaves the weather station to drive to the downtown area's main park. This park was totally messed up months ago but its now back to normal thanks to the people rebuilding it. There are several large buildings right across the street from the park so it gives the downtown area a much needed lovely look.
In Queen Minerva's new earth base.. Her crystal ball immediately awakens and alerts her of Joey's find. She examines the situation.. Princess Andromeda who's now wearing a new sparkling thin dress and the rest of the Queen's court wait eagerly to hear her speak. When she finally decides to say something.. She lets out a deep breath then commences.
Queen Minerva-Hmm for some odd reason my crystal ball has shown me an image of an earth man with a camera. I am not one to doubt the power of my crystal ball. So I have forged an idea to make the camera the earth holds, work for us.
Princess Andromeda asks eagerly.
Princess Andromeda-How will we use it your highness?
Queen Minerva-The answer is simple.
She waves her right hand over the surface of her crystal ball and out comes a very small dark glowing seed. It floats in midair as the Queen speaks again.
Queen Minerva-I will plant this demon seed into the camera. And let it go from there. With luck we shall have a nice supply of energy by the day's end.
Makozi asks a question while she stays suspended in air thanks to her dark fairy wings.
Makozi-Do you want us to supervise the demon seed's resulting creature?
Queen Minerva-No. Let it work on its own. I will watch it from here.
Makozi-Yes..
Queen Minerva-And who knows.. Perhaps we'll capture some Power Ranger energy as well.
She chuckles and sends the demon seed back into the crystal ball, this time with the image of Joey holding his camera while sitting on a park bench.
And speaking of Joey.. The demon seed appears right where he stands, but he doesn't notice it. It seeps into the camera as quiet as a bug running across the floor.. When it finally rests within the heart of the camera, Joey feels it shudder just a bit.. But of course he doesn't pay much attention to it.
Joey decides he wants to go out and take pictures.. Hehehe. I bet you knew that was coming huh? Yeah, thought so. He calls up his friends and eventually they all teleport to the park to see what he wanted.. Nakia and Ryan are the first to show up.. Nakia has on a yellow blouse, a blue jean skirt and yellow sandals. Ryan is wearing a red muscle shirt, a pair of red shorts and white tennis shoes. He asks him.
Ryan-What's up Joey?
Nakia-Yeah your message sounded urgent.
Joey-I'd rather wait till everyone gets here.
Ryan-Suit yourself dude.
Nakia-I hope its soon. I have to be at my music club in twenty minutes.
Ryan-And I have to be at the garage again to help out Todd some more today.
Joey sighs.
Joey-You both are busy today?
Nakia-Yeah.. Why?
Joey-I wanted you guys to come out with me and celebrate something.
Ryan-Celebrate what?
Joey-I'll tell you when everyone else gets here.
Nakia sighs heavily and very impatiently.
A few more minutes pass and soon the rest of the team shows up. Zelda is wearing pink pants, a pink silk shirt and white high heeled shoes, Chet has on a nice looking pair of black pants, a white buttoned up shirt with a tie and black dress shoes.. And finally Kimberly has on a plain white dress with white tennis shoes. Zelda explains on how come she and Chet are going to be busy today.
Zelda-We're going out.. Afterwards I have to meet up with my acting class.
Chet nods.
Kimberly starts to let out some ooh's and ahh's at Zelda and Chet.. She comes closer to the both of them and says.
Kimberly-So are you two officially a couple yet?
Zelda starts to blush.. She looks at Kimberly and responds.
Zelda-Um this is just a friendly morning date.
Chet-Yeah. I finally asked Zelda to go somewhere with me.
Zelda-Surprised me because he called like at 6:00a.m.
Nakia smiles and adds her two sense.
Nakia-As strange as it may be.. I think a morning date is kind of okay.
Chet-I called to ask if she would go out with me tonight.. She's the one who said she has to go to her acting class in the evening.
Zelda-That's true.. So I suggested he take me out this morning.
Nakia whispers to Zelda.
Nakia-Good thinking.. But if I recall correctly I thought Chet and you were like already going to see each other?
Zelda-Yeah. He did kind of ask me out months ago he was a little shy.. Things changed.. At least its going to work now.. Everything has just been so crazy you know.
Nakia-Yeah I know. Believe me I do. So maybe now it'll work out. Good luck.
Zelda-Thanks.
Chet and Zelda leave the park area.. And so do Nakia and Ryan after saying their goodbye's and they're sorry.
Kimberly of course wants to stay to hear what Joey had to say. He becomes just a tad bit upset with the others leaving so quick.. Of course that melts away when Kimberly makes it known she's interested.. She sits down on the park bench.. He follows and shows her his camera. She looks at his in a puzzling way and says meekly.
Kimberly-Umm.. It's a camera.
Joey adds.
Joey-It's not just any camera.
Kimberly-It isn't?
Joey-No.
Kimberly-Okay.. I guess.
Joey-I received this from a good friend of mine the day I got my job as cameraman at the weather station.. That's now.. Well you know..
Kimberly cheers in a clapping sense.
Kimberly-That's good.. Why not mention this before?
Joey-I didn't think about it till earlier this morning. I guess I want to get back to a normal life now.
Kimberly-You going to take any pictures?
Joey-Yeah. If.
He opens up the camera and spots some film.. Then says.
Joey-Yeah! It's here.. I was worried I'd have to spend some more money on film.
Kimberly chuckles.
Kimberly-So what's first?
Joey-Umm. Let me think.
He looks around the park area and doesn't see much he'd like to take any pictures of.. He does spot a couple of beautiful birds flying towards a near by oak tree. He looks at Kimberly and says.
Joey-How about some birds?
Kimberly-To start off with sure.. You'll have to finish with a grand finale though.
Joey-Meaning what?
She gets up from the bench and starts to pose.. She chuckles again and says.
Kimberly-Meaning I want you to take a picture of me.
Joey-Hehehe. Okay.
Kimberly-Not till later though. I don't look my best till the afternoon time.
Joey-Oh I wouldn't say that Kim.
Kimberly blushes.
Kimberly-That's sweet of you to say.
Joey-I only speak the truth.
The evil villains watch Joey and Kimberly in the park through a huge protected picture on the ceiling of their new base produced by Queen Minerva's crystal ball. Princess Andromeda exclaims with supreme impatient ness.
Princess Andromeda-Ughh! When is that camera going to get some energy for us?!
The Queen responds in a harsh tone.
Queen Minerva-In all due time! Be patient or I will send you back to Androecia, where you'll stay till you writher into nothing more than dust!
The Princess calms down. And adds.
Princess Andromeda-Forgive me auntie.
Queen Minerva-The earth man must take pictures of the living creatures.. Only then will the camera produce an image that will reveal the creature's very near fate!
She lets out a laugh. Then continues on.
Queen Minerva-The creature will very quickly lose its energy and look exactly like what's in the picture. Hahaha. When the camera is full.. The demon seed will transform its new camera body into a monster that will cause destruction to the city that will no longer be inhabited by those insipid humans! Because they'll all be gone and their energy will belong to us!
Everyone in her evil court starts to applaud.
Back to the park.. Joey and Kimberly make their way over to the large oak tree.. They see many birds arriving.. Joey snaps a picture of the birds, actually he snaps about five pictures. When they develop, Kimberly takes a hold of them and looks at each picture. To her horror she sees the birds not looking well at all.. She looks at the birds on the tree, they look healthy. Then she looks back at the pictures, the birds look dead. She says to Joey.
Kimberly-Um Joey.. Something is seriously wrong here.
Joey doesn't listen because he's snapping more pictures. Kimberly stops him with a yell.
Kimberly-JOEY!
He looks at her and asks.
Joey-What is it?
Kimberly-Look at these pictures!
She shows them to him. He studies them for a minute and gets a disgruntled look to his face.
Joey-These don't look like the same birds I just snapped.
Kimberly-I think they are. Its obvious something very wrong is going on here.
Joey looks at his camera and shrugs the whole situation off.
Joey-Maybe the film is just dusty.
Kimberly-Dusty? Look at the pictures again..
Joey looks again, closer this time.
Joey-Kimberly.
He looks up at the birds on the tree, they still look very healthy.
Joey-I said the film is probably dirty.
Kimberly-No. It's not that.. I think you should stop using your camera.
Joey-I'm not going to stop using it.
Kimberly-Joey!
Joey-I'm not going to stop. Just chill.
Kimberly snatches the camera from Joey.. He exclaims.
Joey-Hey!
Kimberly-I'm telling you there's something wrong. What do I have to do to get it through your thick skull?
Joey-Just give it back to me.
Queen Minerva and the rest of her evil minions continue to watch from their base.. She makes a comment at Kimberly's attempt to stop Joey from taking more pictures.
Queen Minerva-That idiotic fool will ruin my whole plan!
She looks at Princess Andromeda and Myanthor..
Queen Minerva-Assemble the winged warriors and send them to take care of those two at once!
Princess Andromeda-Yes auntie.
The two disappear from the scene.
Kimberly and Joey are still sort of arguing about the camera.. Joey doesn't think there's anything wrong.. Until he looks back up at the birds and takes quick notice of their new appearance which basically matches what they look like in the pictures.. He gasps. And shouts out.
Joey-What just happened here?!
Kimberly-I told you.
Kimberly hands the camera back to Joey.. He looks at it with much confusion.
Joey-What.. Why.. I don't understand it.
The dead birds on the tree soon fall to the ground and turn into gray dust.. Kimberly exclaims.
Kimberly-Oh my gosh. I can't believe this.
Joey-My camera.. It..
They hear an unfamiliar voice.
Princess Andromeda-I am very happy to say the camera doesn't belong to you anymore.
Joey and Kimberly look behind them and see a red light appearing on the ground.. When it hit's the correct spot, the red light expands outward till it reveals Princess Andromeda, Myanthor and several Winged Gremlin Warriors. Right after the red beam disappears, Princess Andromeda gives her command.
Princess Andromeda-Winged warriors get them! And bring the camera to me!
The beastly warriors take flight.. Kimberly yells out in exasperation.
Kimberly-Watch out!
The battle begins when Kimberly kicks her right leg straight upward to knock down two winged gremlins at once.. They hit the ground face first but prop their bodies right back up.
Joey moves slightly away with his camera still in hand.. Some of the winged gremlins try their best to take the camera but Joey isn't easily defeated.. Three of them land and attempt to blast him with their power, luckily Joey rolls out of the way to avoid getting hurt. Now they rush to him.. Joey dodges an attempted hit, he then does a marvelous floor sweeping swoop under one winged gremlin to bring it down. He immediately stands up and side kicks another one in its chest, it screeches out in slight pain but isn't really hurt. The third one tries to grab Joey by the neck but he simply takes a hold of its right arm and twists it to the ground.. He didn't realize it.. But when he did that.. He left the camera kind of exposed while he held it.. This allowed the not so badly hurt winged gremlin to kick it out of his hand.. It fly's across the park.. The Princess says harshly.
Princess Andromeda-Get the camera Myanthor, now!
He obeys, unfortunately its too late.. The camera hit's the ground hard and breaks into many pieces. Myanthor stops and groans out.
Myanthor-Uh oh..
Princess Andromeda-The camera! No!
Getting the alert from his computer at the old weather station.. Jeremy stretches out slightly before he takes his seat.. He then types up a command and the computer reveals the trouble. Immediately he contacts Ryan and the other Rangers.
Back at the fight scene. Kimberly jabs a winged gremlin in its stomach with her elbow and sends it flying away, she then swings her right leg around once and strikes another one in its face. When it is send away.. Kimberly says.
Kimberly-Didn't expect those things to show up again! Oh well.
With the winged gremlins defeated.. Princess Andromeda exclaims with anger.
Princess Andromeda-I don't believe it! Failure is not acceptable!
Suddenly the broken camera starts to sizzle. Joey wants to go and get it, but he stays back when he sees the camera transforming. He gasps and so does Kimberly. They regroup.
Kimberly-What's happening!
Joey-I wish I knew!
Swirls of red energy arise and cover the camera.. Moments later, the camera finishes its transformation and is revealed to be a most hideous looking creature.. Basically the creature looks like a giant tick with a camera lens settled in the center of its stomach. The body color of the monster is completely reddish black, its eyes are beady and its mouth is generally for suction.. Kimberly says with disgust.
Kimberly-Oh gross!
Joey-You can say that again!
Princess Andromeda smiles wickedly and says to them.
Princess Andromeda-I'll leave you be with Opticka! Have fun you loser humans!
She raises her arm and produces the same red beam that brought she and the other evil villains there a few minutes ago. Soon she, Myanthor and the defeated winged gremlins vanish within the beam..
Opticka says in a horrendous echoing type voice.
Opticka-Mmmm.. Human energy. It is most delicious. Give me your energy!
The monster flashes its camera lens stomach.. Both Kimberly and Joey leap out of the way. When the flash gets to where they stood, it causes the ground to slightly explode.. When they are temporary out of harm's way.. Kimberly looks at the spot and says.
Kimberly-WHOA!
Joey-I think its time to morph!
Kimberly-Absolutely! Couldn't of thought of a better time!
They attempt to morph but the monster flashes again so they are forced to leap out of its way.
Blasts of power arrive from behind the monster.. The blasts hit the monster in the back.. It screams out.
Opticka-AAAAAAHHHHH!
Kimberly and Joey look up to see their friends.. Fully morphed and powered up. They are standing on the tallest building across the street together.. The Pink Ranger yells out.
Pink Ranger-Hey leave our friends alone you freak!
Opticka turns to them and says.
Opticka-Mmmm more energy for me to absorb!
The Black Ranger responds to what Opticka just said.
Black Ranger-Dream on ugly!
The Red Ranger commands.
Red Ranger-Let's go!
The others say in unison.
Power Rangers-RIGHT!
Now all of them take a leap off of the building one by one.. In sequence its like this.. Red, Black, Yellow and Pink.. They land and start their attacks on the monster. Kimberly looks at Joey and says.
Kimberly-Now's the time to morph.
Joey-Got it.. Let's do it!
They stand up and twist their right wrists once.. This brings on a second glow of power.. White for Kimberly and Blue for Joey. The glows materialize their morphers.
Back to the evil villains.. Queen Minerva grows tired from watching the fight she sends her crystal ball away and says to Andromeda who has already apologized many times for their failure.
Queen Minerva-Opticka will take care of those meddlesome Power Rangers! But if it fails we'll simply attack again!
After Kimberly's and Joey's morphers are set, the two swing their arms around once.. They then bring it together and touch the color coded stars on their morphers as they say one by one.
Kimberly-WHITE STAR, SNOW STORM POWER, NOW!
Joey-BLUE STAR, RAIN STORM POWER, NOW!
A power flash from their morphers takes us now to an essence of the universe.
Kimberly's large white star appears twirling within the essence, when it freezes, a high force of snow tears the star completely apart therefore the pieces form into white energy that comes together and transforms into the White Star Snow Storm Power Ranger. She stands with determination as her body suit sets off a glow and flashes with the color of white. Now she end up leaping upward and twisting her body around, when she lands she continues on by doing back flips. Finally when her transformation phase is finished, she lands on her feet she sounds a snarling snow force and causes an image of a beautiful snow storm to appear.
Next, Joey's large blue star appears twirling inside of the essence. It halts and almost instantly a strong force of rain beats the star till it completely comes apart into many broken up pieces. Those pieces form into bright blue energy that soon come together to transform into the Blue Star Rain Storm Power Ranger. He stands with honor as his body suit glows and flashes with the color blue. He ends his transformation by leaping up and twisting his body around, when he lands he does several back flips.. And when he's finished, he lands on his feet which sounds a force of beating rain and causes an image of a powerful rain storm beating upon the earth to appear.
The White Ranger and Blue Rangers watch for just a second.. They see the monster Opticka twirls its hideous body around once with intense velocity.. The results from the twist prove to be most shocking as each Ranger feels the painful electrical surge seeping through their bodies.. They fall on the ground .. Opticka laughs wearily and speaks out.
Opticka-Now I'm going to take your energies!
Stupidly the monster forgot about the other two Rangers who are now beginning their attacks. The White Ranger materializes her snow staff and rushes over to the monster therefore her quickness prevents the monster from continuing to hurt her friends. She attacks it fiercely. Giving it several hits to the stomach, then to the back, and finally she plunges her staff into the ground right beside the beast, this gives her the chance to place her gloved hands on her staff and immediately start swinging with marvelous speed. The speed intensifies so much that it rips the staff out of the ground and heads over to the monster where the White Ranger's spinning body delivers some really powerful strikes as she says.
White Ranger-SNOW STORM POWER SPIN!
With those words said, the White Ranger's spinning body glows extremely white. She gives Opticka one last spinning strike which sends it slightly away.. The white glowing now causes the White Ranger to let go of her staff and form into a sparkling spot of snow energy that immediately rips through Opticka's chest. It screams out in a loud wearily howl as its body starts to surge with white crackling power.
Now in really tremendous pain, Opticka doesn't fall to the ground, it still tries to stay afoot. Getting a quick idea, the Blue Ranger summons his storm power and creates a blue essence.. He stands within the essence as a large beautiful blue sparkling tidal wave appears right behind him.. The Blue Ranger's gloved hands begin to glow and take control of the powerful tidal wave.. He then directs it toward Opticka as he says loudly.
Blue Ranger-TIDAL WAVE VORTEX!
The tidal wave splashes down onto the monster with tremendous force.. While the monster is inside of the wave, the power stings and strikes it heavily, it is also spun around very quickly inside till the tidal wave completely disappears.. The monster is now found totally disoriented and in much worse shape. It stops trying to keep it together and just falls on its back in a huge triple explosion. As the explosion keeps its powerful flame, the white spot of energy hit's the ground and transforms back into the White Power Ranger.
Unfortunately the explosion doesn't destroy Opticka.
The Blue and White Rangers rush over to help their friends back on their feet. The White Ranger asks.
White Ranger-Everyone okay?
The Yellow Ranger responds.
Yellow Ranger-Yeah we're all in tact.
The Pink Ranger notices the monster getting back on its feet so she comments.
Pink Ranger-And so is the monster!
The Red Ranger looks directly at it and says to the others.
Red Ranger-Allright Rangers. We have got to get rid of this monster before it can do anymore damage elsewhere.
The others say in an agreement.
Power Rangers-RIGHT!
Princess Andromeda asks the Queen to see if Opticka has gathered any energy for them.. Calmly the Queen obliges and looks into her crystal ball.. She and the rest of her evil court watch as the Power Rangers go into their ultimate attack mode.
Opticka powers up even more and just as it sends out another strike, all of the Power Rangers leap up and form into streaking beams of light that enter the clouds of the sky.. Soon the clouds begin to rumble.. Opticka looks up and sees the rumbling clouds.
Opticka-Huh?! Where'd they go!?
The clouds produce a huge powerful circular energy cyclone.. Inside of the energy cyclone are obvious surges of powerful red fire, yellow lightning, pink wind, white snow, black ice and blue rain.
The cyclone takes Opticka and twists it's body into an explosive oblivion. When it dies down, the energies form back into the Red Ranger, Yellow Ranger, Pink Ranger, White Ranger, Black Ranger and Blue Ranger..
The Power Rangers all cheer when everything turns out to be completely normal for a while. They discuss their new enemies and vow to always handle situations dealing with their enemies as they always have in the past.
Back at evil's base.. The Queen's anger causes flames to fire out from her mouth as she speaks.
Queen Minerva-WHO'S IDEA WAS IT TO USE A STUPID CAMERA!?
Everyone in her court is bluntly afraid they know the Queen was the one who wanted to use the camera in the first place but of course no one dares to say that to her..
No one says anything for a second, then Princess Andromeda says very calmly.
Princess Andromeda-Auntie. We'll get them next time.
Queen Minerva-NEXT TIME! NO MORE STUPID IDEAS! NO MORE WEAK MONSTERS EITHER!
Princess Andromeda-Yes Auntie. Don't worry.
Queen Minerva growls.. As the scene fades to black.
Meanwhile a few hours pass and everyone meets up at the old weather station.
Joey is looking kind of upset because his camera turned out to be a monster they had to destroy. He doesn't know it yet but he's about to get a big surprise from his friends.
He sits in one of the abandoned offices on the left side of the building. He hears a knock at the door, he doesn't say anything because he's upset. Instead of knocking a second time, the person just opens the door and it turns out to be Kimberly. A few minutes later, Zelda walks in, Nakia, Chet, Ryan and finally Jeremy.
Kimberly looks at Joey and says to him sympathetically.
Kimberly-Joey come on cheer up. It was just a camera.
Joey looks at her and retorts sharply.
Joey-Just a camera? No. it was more than just a camera Kim.
Kimberly-I knew you were going to say that.
Zelda decides to say.
Zelda-We know how bad you felt. And we are sorry for running out on you earlier so fast. It's just.
He cuts her off.
Joey-I know you all had things to do.
Nakia says.
Nakia-Yeah. We feel bad about it.
Ryan-I'm sure we'll get over it as soon as you get..
He pulls a package from behind him and gives it to Joey at the same time he says.
Ryan-This.
Joey takes the package.. Everyone smiles. He opens it up with the collision of Chet's and Jeremy's cheer.
Chet and Jeremy-SURPRISE!
It's a brand new camera. A better looking model than he had before.. Joey looks at it with a happy expression.. He thanks everyone.
Joey-Aww thanks you guys! This is the best present ever.. Especially with my birthday coming up.
Kimberly says to Joey.
Kimberly-When's your birthday?
Joey-In a few days.
Nakia says.
Nakia-Well look at it this way. This is a birthday and an I'm sorry present.
Joey-Sure, sure. You guys aren't getting off that easily.
Nakia says playfully but sternly.
Nakia-You know how much that camera cost? A lot.. that's how much. So think of it as a birthday present too.
He chuckles and so does everyone else as everything fades to black.
