Chapter 140 Time to Set Sail
On a Monday afternoon after school to be exact, Nakia, Kimberly, Zelda, and Chet are all in study hall to catch up on their studies before tomorrow's school day. They are all wearing comfortable looking clothes with respects to their Ranger colors in the form of jeans, shirts etc. So anyway.. The study hall area basically looks like a giant library.. All of them are sitting at the left side corner table. Nakia has out her algebra book and is deeply doing a quick homework assignment. Zelda is finishing up the last page of her drama class packet, Kimberly is brushing up for an English quiz she's going to have tomorrow and Chet is working on a History worksheet. While they continue on..
Let's go back to Grand Master Sinistar who now resides on a planet not too far from the earth, along with Princess Andromeda and a mess of demonic creatures. There she sits on her lost soul throne.. Princess Andromeda awaits eagerly to know how Grand Master Sinistar is going to find the Ancient Rubiyat, the book with spells that could destroy the entire universe. She watches as the evil master opens up her right hand, then a dark power beam arises and forms into a black diamond shaped crystal. The evil master says.
Grand Master Sinistar-This is what will find the Rubiyat. In a minute's time we will know exactly what time it is in and who has it!
Princess Andromeda-This is really exciting.
The diamond shaped crystal glows with power. Now deep inside it reveals an image of a large body of water, the Atlantic Ocean to be precise. The evil Master thinks as she and Princess Andromeda gaze deeply at the image.
Grand Master Sinistar-Hmmm.
Princess Andromeda asks.
Princess Andromeda-What does this mean?
Grand Master Sinistar-It means the Rubiyat is buried underwater somewhere. Hold your thoughts. The crystal hasn't finished yet.
She's right.. The crystal's power reveals another image.. A image that shows Grand Master Sinistar and Princess Andromeda exactly where the Rubiyat is.. A gasp is heard.
Grand Master Sinistar-So.. That's where it is.
She chuckles.
Grand Master Sinistar-Then we haven't a moment to waste!
Princess Andromeda-I agree.
Grand Master Sinistar-Assemble my generals, at once!
Princess Andromeda-As you command.
The hollow spots that hold the evil master's red dot like eyes begin to glow superbly as she says.
Grand Master Sinistar-Soon my revenge will be complete! Hahaha..
Back on earth, in the city of Terra Falls.. And right back to the high school.. Nakia has gotten up to go get something to drink from the Pepsi machine down the hall. When she gets a can of Pepsi, she runs into Ryan who's out of breath.. She asks.
Nakia-Hey you okay?
He catches his breath and responds. By the way Ryan is wearing black jeans, a red t shirt and white tennis shoes.
Ryan-Yeah. I was just trying to find you.
Nakia-I told you I would be in study hall after school today.
Ryan-I just remembered babe.
Nakia-So what's the urgency?
Ryan-Nothing urgent. I just want you to meet someone.
Nakia-Who?
Ryan-My Uncle Clyde.
Nakia-Um, here?
Ryan-No, he's at the dock. I met up with him right after school.. And he wants to meet you.
Nakia starts looking nervous like.
Nakia-What did you tell him?
Ryan-He asked me if I found a nice girl yet and I told him all about you.
Nakia smiles.
Nakia-I'd love to go Ryan but I have some more work to do here before I can leave.
Ryan-That's not all babe.
Nakia-Hmm?
Ryan-I want you to go sailing with me in his yacht.
Nakia slightly gasps.
Nakia-Sailing on his yacht?
Ryan-Yeah. He asked me to go. I have been wanting to sail on his yacht ever since I was a kid babe.
Nakia-Ryan honey no offense but I don't know. I'd be all squeamish.
Ryan puts his right arm around her shoulder as they start to walk away from the Pepsi machine and says.
Ryan-Then that's perfect.
Nakia-What do you mean now?
Ryan-If you're all squeamish then you'll have to be in my arms.
She smiles and so does he.
Nakia-Oh you're so corny.
Ryan-Hehehe.
Queen Minerva in her underground base.. Feels more worried than ever before. Shyantis appears before her in her chamber room.
Shyantis-My queen, why is it you haven't given us any new plans of attack?
The Queen says blankly..
Queen Minerva-This planet is protected by the Power Rangers. They defeat every last monster we send out. They always win! We can't seem to break through their winning streak.
Shyantis-I wish I knew how we could do that.
Queen Minerva-Not only do they pose a threat, but so does my worthless niece Andromeda and Grand Master Sinistar!
Makozi appears floating in midair.
Makozi-My Queen it is true Sinistar is extremely powerful.. But she must have a weakness.
The Queen directs her attention at Makozi.
Queen Minerva-Then would you like to volunteer to find out what her weakness is?
Makozi shudders in fear..
Makozi-No..
Queen Minerva-Well then! For now we shall lay low!
Shyantis-But why?
Queen Minerva-The Rangers are bound to destroy Sinistar. Even if they don't they will manage to get rid of her.. And when they do, we'll strike again!
Everyone in her court agrees with her new decision. She says one more thing.
Queen Minerva-We'll leave the Rangers with something..
Makozi-Yes?
Queen Minerva-You provide our temporary going away present!
Makozi-I'll start immediately.
Back at the high school.. Ryan tells the others about his uncle's yacht and about Nakia not wanting to go.. Zelda says interestingly.
Zelda-I think it would be fun to sail on a yacht. You get to relax and just follow the currents to paradise.
Nakia-Blah..
Kimberly asks.
Kimberly-Nakia would you feel better if we all went?
Ryan looks at her and hopes her answer is.. Well you know.. She thinks.. And says.
Nakia-I guess so.
Ryan-Allright! Cool!
Chet-Ryan will your uncle let us all go though?
Ryan-Yeah I don't see why not.
Nakia-I don't know about this. I hope I don't get sea sick.
Ryan-It'll be fun. Trust me.
Zelda-What time do we set sail?
Ryan-6 o'clock. I'll see if Joey wants to go too. And oh. I really think you all should change into something more suitable for sailing like shorts and t shirts.. Ya know. Casual type wear.
They all nod..
Hours pass and soon 6 o'clock arrives.. Now all wearing shorts, and t shirts Ryan, Nakia, Zelda, Chet, Kimberly and Joey all go down to Terra Falls dock where Ryan officially introduces all of them to his Uncle Clyde and his Aunt Millie. Clyde is 33 years old, he has short black hair, brown eyes and a strong muscular build.. In fact he looks kind of like a navy officer simply because the clothes he's wearing makes him look like he just got out of the Navy.. His wife, Millie who's also 33, has long blonde hair, hazel eyes, and a medium build. She is wearing a pair of white shorts, a blue t shirt and white tennis shoes.
After Ryan explains things about why he brought all of his friends.. His Uncle Clyde accepts them and says they can go along too. He shows them his beautiful large white yacht that is sitting on the waters and tied to a long strong metal pole just a few feet away from everyone. Millie has gone into a little shop to buy a few things before they set sail.. And Clyde takes a hold of Ryan by his shoulder in the means of him putting his arm around his shoulder and walking towards the yacht to talk to him..
Clyde-Nakia is a pretty girl Ryan.. I hope she really does make you happy.
Ryan-Of course she does Uncle Clyde. We've been through a lot together.. I can't see myself going through life without her.
Clyde smiles.
Clyde-Then she really is the one for you..
Ryan-I already knew that.
They both chuckle heartily.
Makozi monitors everyone at the dock through a visual portal she has in her own spot in the underground base. She thinks.
Makozi-Hmmm. So, everyone is going out for a sail are they. Things are going to get stormy for the storm Rangers!
Back at the dock..
Clyde instructs the others that they must wear life jackets.. And for a special treat, if any of them would like to take dives into the water, they will have to wear air masks, they agree of course.
Millie comes out of the store with two brown grocery bags. She has bought ham slices, turkey slices, corned beef, sliced cheese, potato chips, and muffins.
Nakia and Zelda are talking close to the yacht while Joey, Kimberly and Chet are seeing if Millie needs any help with the two bags she has.
Nakia-Hey aren't we going out on the Atlantic ocean?
Zelda-If my geography is correct.. And it usually is. I'd say yeah we are.
Nakia-That's it.. I'm not going.
Zelda-Nakia what's wrong?
Nakia-Haven't you heard of the Bermuda triangle?
Zelda-Yes but that's only a myth.
Nakia-How do you know?
Zelda-Oh come on, it can't be true. Ships and boats disappearing for no apparent reason?
Nakia-It has to be true.
Zelda-What ships do you know have disappeared out there?
Nakia-None. But I'm still worried.
Zelda-Everything will be fine.
Nakia-It would help if you were a little bit on my side. We are best friends ya know.
Zelda-I know that. I still think you should go with us. And just relax.
Nakia sighs.
Nakia-Fine but if anything happens.
Zelda cuts her off.
Zelda-If anything happens we'll deal with it.
Everyone now boards the yacht. Clyde hoists the anchor and unties the rope that was just connecting the yacht to the large metal pole. The inside of the yacht is most beautiful, the deck is large and roomy, there are tables and chairs around almost every corner, and there is a room in the center, and a top room on the upper level. Clyde will be steering the yacht on the upper level. So now after having a tour of the magnificent vessel, they all put on life jackets.. Clyde goes up on the upper level to get things ready before he sets sail.
Kimberly asks in a shout directed at Clyde as she stands below.
Kimberly-You have a GPS don't you?
Clyde looks down at her and nods.. He also says.
Clyde-Sure do. It's right up here with the rest of my computerized inventory.
Kimberly-Cool.
He goes back to what he was doing.. And Kimberly goes into the center room where in one part turns out to be a medium sized kitchen. Nakia and Zelda are in there unpacking the bags.. Ryan, Chet and Joey are out on the deck checking things out. And Millie has just walked up to the upper level to help out her husband, Clyde.
In the kitchen area.. Zelda says after placing the ham, turkey and corned beef in a medium sized refrigerator.
Zelda-Gosh I'm hungry. I haven't eaten since breakfast.
Nakia-So why don't you fix yourself a sandwich.
Zelda responds comically.
Zelda-Ya know what.. I think I will!
They giggle.. Kimberly says in a way of asking Zelda to fix her a sandwich too.
Kimberly-Hey a sandwich sounds soo good..
Nakia looks at Kimberly and says smart like.
Nakia-You have two feet and two hands and from the looks of them I don't see anything wrong.. So, march yourself right over here and fix yourself a sandwich.
They giggle again.
Millie and Clyde talk a bit about Ryan after he turns on the engine.
Millie-It's been a long time since I have seen Ryan.. He's growing up..
Clyde-He's 17 now. In a few months he'll be 18, a grown man.
Millie-In the eyes of the law. But he'll always be my little buddy.
Clyde smiles.
Clyde-Just don't tell him that or he'll be so embarrassed.. Especially in front of his girlfriend Nakia.
Millie chuckles.
Millie-I know. It's just I used to take him out on picnics, and out shopping a whole lot. I spent more time with him than his mother and father.
Clyde-According to them they had important things to do. My sister has always been the work a holic type. And obviously her husband followed the same trend.
Millie-Well taking care of their child should have been an important thing. He even lives in an apartment all by himself. I'm worried about him.
Clyde-Ryan's fine Millie. Besides he has surrounded himself with nice friends. And not to mention a very caring girlfriend. So stop worrying about him.
Millie-That does make me feel a bit better.
Clyde-Don't worry honey.
They hear Ryan calling from down below.
Ryan-Hey when are we gonna set sail?!
Clyde calls back.
Clyde-In just a few minutes Ryan! Hold your horses.
Ryan-Huh?
Clyde chuckles and so does Millie because Ryan doesn't understand what Clyde just said. She says to him.
Millie-It just means be patient.
Ryan-Oh, okay. Got it.
She chuckles again.
In the kitchen area.. Nakia, Zelda and Kimberly are all eating sandwiches they made a few seconds ago.. She sees Ryan coming in and asks in a muffled tone because she's chewing a piece of her sandwich.
Nakia-Ryan mhhmmhhmmm sandmhhhmwich?
Ryan looks at her crazily and asks at the same time Zelda and Kimberly snicker a bit.
Ryan-What babe?
She swallows the piece of sandwich and says more clearly.
Nakia-You want a sandwich?
Ryan-Nah I'm just thirsty.
He looks into the refrigerator and grabs the first thing he sees which is a bottle of water. He then leaves the kitchen..
The yacht begins to move and Nakia gasps..
Nakia-We're moving!
Kimberly-Yeah.. That's what we're supposed to do.
Nakia-Oh bite me..
Kimberly laughs.
Ryan goes back out to join Chet and Joey at a game of cards.. Chet brought the set of cards and so the guys sit at one of the tables as the yacht moves on gradually on the waters as everything fades to black.
