Chapter Twenty
The Knight of The Lake
Within the compound of the Shie Hassaikai, a little girl with white hair, a small horn on the right part of her forehead, and wearing a medical dress with bandages covering most of her arms and legs was tied onto a medical examination chair. Next to her was a tall black-haired man with a plague doctor's mask covering his mouth and nose as he was busy surgically cutting into the girl's right arm while draining blood from her left arm. Tears ran down the girl's face as the sound of her sniffing, crying, and hiccuping could be heard echoing throughout the room they were in.
"If you keep making that annoying sound, I'll take away your ability to speak and breathe like last time," Chisaki said as it caused the girl to go quiet and endure the pain she was feeling from him. In a matter of minutes, he pulled himself away from the girl as he looked over at his assistant who was wearing a plague doctor's mask and a hooded robe. "I need to take care of something. Stand in front of the door so that no one tries or accidentally comes in here."
"You're going through with the plan?" The assistant asked as Chisaki looked over at him. "I-I'm not against the idea of using Eri for your personal needs. I just want to make sure you're set on doing this."
"The old man will hate me for this. And I'm okay with that. But with Eri's power, I can return the world to what it was before superpowers came into the world. I will bring the yakuza back to its former glory. And that girl is the key." He answered before leaving the room.
"I just hope this plan works." The assistant said before following Chisaki and closing the door behind himself. When the two leave the room, Eri lets out a gasp of pain as she tries to break herself free from the chair she was in. But soon stops upon feeling the pain in her arms increase more each time she tries to move. From the time Chisaki discovered what her quirk can do, up until now. She had been at the mercy of the crazy man's ambition. She didn't understand a lot of what Chisaki was saying, nor did she care about it. All she wanted to do was to escape from this hell she was in...but what could she do? She couldn't escape even if she wanted to. I mean she could, but with so many people within the home she lives in, they would end up bringing her back to him like before and she would be punished.
What he was doing now was pretty much punishment for trying to escape before. And for the price of it, the man that was supposed to look after her ended up being killed by him because of her...was this her life now? To be used by this man who she thought was her new family? Is this the life the world wanted her to live? Is there anyone in this world willing to help this poor girl?
"Please...someone...help me…" She said as tears rolled down her face for a moment, but soon her attention was drawn to hearing something within the room. She slowly pulled her head up to look around the room as to where the sound was coming from. She soon notices a blue color butterfly flying around in the room. The girl would find the butterfly surprisingly interesting. Mainly because from the pictures she read in books, butterflies don't glow or leave glittering sparkles behind as they fly. She couldn't help but find the insect...rather beautiful due to how bright it was. Eri continues to look at the butterfly for a while as it lands on her nose. Upon its landing, a bright light erupted from the butterfly as it filled the room with a warm bright light.
Eri quickly closed her eyes for a moment just as the light erupted. In a matter of seconds, she felt the light slowly vanish and began to open her eyes. Her eyes widened upon finding herself in a strange place. Specifically, she found herself standing on top of a lake with the reflection of the moon on the surface. So many questions filled her head. Where was she? How did she get here? Was this real or was she dreaming?
"The plea of a maiden, a child no less. I can not ignore it. Even though my King has summoned me to her aim, I can't ignore your distress for help." The voice said she startled Eri as she looked around to see where the voice was coming from. She soon notices a tall man, clad in white armor, a blue cape on his back, and a sword in his hand standing a few feet away from her.
"W-Who are you?" Eri asked as she took a step backward out of fear of this man.
"A knight that was summoned to aid his King. But was called upon by you, child." He said before kneeling in front of Eri. "Your plea for help reached me, and so I have come to aid you, my lady."
"Y-You need to leave. If C-Chisaki sees you, he's going to...to." Eri was trying her best not to cry from the memories of the poor people that were killed because of the times she tried to run away from her home with the Yakuza. "You need to leave...I don't want anyone to die because of me."
"I am sorry, but that is out of the question. As a knight, I am honor-bound to not only serve my king but to help those who need saving." He said before standing up and walking over to Eri "And you are someone I can't leave and abandon in this place."
"B-But…"
"You do not need to worry." The knight said as he removed his helmet to reveal his face to her. "I am Lancelot. One of The Knights of the Round Table. I will do everything within my powers to save you, my lady." He said while giving Eri a warm trusting smile. The young girl's eyes widened from revealing his face to her as she felt her heart pounding and her face blushing red. This man was the definition of Prince Charming in the fairy tale books that were read to her by some of the people that Chisaki ordered to look after her. She never did pay much attention to the books nor did she believe in them...but could this man be the one to save her? Is she willing to gamble this man's life to save her? Eri gulps upon seeing the resolve in this man's eye. Even if she were to say no, he would come to her aid no matter what.
"...Please...save me," Eri said in a pleading manner as Lancelot nodded,
"As a Knight of the Round Table. I, Lancelot, will lay down my life to save you, child." Lancelot said as he placed a hand on Eri's head. "Wait in this room just a bit." He said as Eri felt herself feeling sleepy. Her vision began to fade as she felt her passing out and fell asleep. The place they were in vanished as she and Lancelot were back in the medical room where Chisaki was experimenting on her. His smile soon faded as it turned into a frown. He soon placed his helmet back onto his head and summoned his sword into his hands. "This evil must be purged from this world. And these monsters will pay for what they've done to this girl." He soon walked over towards the door of the room and kicked it open. That man that was behind the door was crushed by the force of Lancelot kicking the door open as it slammed into the wall across from the room he was in, killing the man upon impact. Chisaki quickly turns around upon hearing this as he sees Lancelot walk out of the room Eri was in.
"How did a hero end up in this place? Did someone leak the information to the heroes?" Chisaki thought as he glared at the armor-clad servant. "No, they couldn't. They know what would happen if they told someone about this place. Looks like I'm going to have to get my hands dirty again...the aftermath is always gross and annoying." He said before placing his hands into his coat pockets. "I don't know who you are, and frankly I couldn't care less. I'm going to assume you're a hero from some agency sent here to save the girl?"
"I am not a hero from any agency," Lancelot answered as he slowly made his way towards Chisaki with his sword at the ready. "I come here to purge this place of evil." He said before stopping and pointing a sword at Chisaki. "Starting with you, monster."
"So a vigilante with a sense of justice...You're just as sick as everyone else. Self-proclaimed heroes that want to show off their quirk just to act cool. That's what is wrong with this world. People become heroes just for their greedy desire. That girl will become the component I need to bring this world back to what it was. Quirkless. Humans use their strength to get what they want. Not have their powers dictate their every action or judge by others. That is the dream I want, and I will see it through."
"I care not for what you want, monster. All I care about is saving the girl from what you've done. You and this entire place will not see the light of day by the time I'm done."
"...Pity, yet another life forfeit by heroic ideals," Chisaki said as he pulled his hands out of his pockets and placed a hand on the wall. "Die, and be a body that supports the foundation of my goal." He said and with a twist of his hand caused the walls, ceiling, and floor to erupt as a trail of spikes heading toward the Servant to impale him. Moments from when the spikes would hit him, he quickly brought his sword up above himself before bringing it down to create a beam blade that cut through the spikes and headed towards Chisaki. Chisaki's eyes widened as he quickly moved out of the way of the attack as it hit the end of the hallway they were in.
"So this human has magecraft that allows him to change the structure of an object. More specifically anything he touches." Lancelot thought as he got into a fighting stance. "An interesting magecraft to have, but it won't help him if I close the distance between us."
"What just happened?" Chisaki thought as he stared in shock at the strength this knight demonstrated. "There's no way he could have this much strength to knock back my attack. Is it because of a strengthening quirk that he has or something else? He might only be able to do a long-range attack if I can keep my distance and wait for an opening, then I can-" Before he had time to think of a plan. In a blink of an eye, Lancelot closed the distance between them as he was in front of him.
The knight raised his sword about his head once more as he brought it down upon Chisaki. Only for him to quickly dodge it and push himself backward. As he was doing this, he used his quirk to cause more spikes to erupt from the floor underneath Lancelot in an attempt to get him by surprise. Lancelot quickly gave chase after Chisaki as he avoided the surprise attack. Once he was inches from his face, the knight was about to deliver a thrust attack with his sword, only for him to draw it back from seeing him trying to grab it and instead deliver a strong punch to his head. Chisaki felt his vision slightly get hazy upon being hit in the head as he was sent flying backward again and through the wall at the end of the hallway.
"You're out of your league villain. Surrender now, and I will give you a merciful end." Lancelot said as he began to make his way to where he sent Chisaki flying. He soon felt the ground shake underneath his feet as the wall in front of the hole at the end of the hallway burst open. Revealing a very tall muscular man that would rival that of Hercules, height-wise at least. Strength-wise, it varies.
"You got a lot of nerves coming into our home hero. But in doing so, you signed your death wish." The man said as he tried to deliver a punch to Lancelot's face, only for the saber class servant to parry the fist away with the flat of his sword and lobbed it off with ease like a knife cutting through butter. The muscular man recoils in pain at the loss of his arm as blood spattered around the area they were in. Before he had time to react or say anything, he soon felt himself moving sideways and falling to the floor. The man's brain was processing what just happened to him as he looked over at the other part of his body which was still standing. "What….just happened?"
"Nothing," Lancelot answered before cutting off the man's head with ease. "Nothing happened." He said before noticing spikes shooting out of the giant hole in the wall that Chisaki was sent flying through as he quickly backed away to avoid being hit. As he was backing away, he noticed the spikes open up to reveal Chisaki infused with a combination of metal and concrete.
"You will not get in the way of my goal to bring hero society to the way it was meant to be!" He before lunging towards him in an attempt to grab him. Lancelot quickly jumped out of the way of being grabbed. As he did this, his sword gave off a blue glow and countered by grazing Chisaki's shoulder and forehead as he landed behind Chisaki as the glow vanished. "Your sword won't be able to cut me as you did to my subordinate. I fused my body with metal and concrete to increase my defense and strength. And even if you were to cut me, I can instantly heal myself of any wound you place on me." He said while showing him what he meant as the injuries he received from his sword sealed up. "What were you thinking coming down here alone? All for that girl's sake? That girl is nothing but a cursed girl. Her mother abandoned her because of her rewinding ability. She reduced her father to nothingness! Why would you save a cursed girl when she's been abandoned by her parents!?"
"It does not matter what she is. Be she cursed or have sinned. No child should be treated like this. No matter the reason. A person like you should never be allowed to live, that is why you and those in this place will not survive."
"Bold words, but you will run out of stamina by the time help comes. And even then, no one will find your body." Chisaki said as he charged at Lancelot. As he was charging at the servant, Lancelot closed his eyes as magic began to surge into his sword.
"Oath to my King!" Lancelot said as the light from his sword glowed brighter than earlier. "Reaching the very end, beyond the boundaries." He said before opening his eyes and glaring at Chisaki. The moment Chisaki brought his fists down upon the saber servant, he quickly parries the punches away causing Chisaki to stagger back from the strength behind the parry. "King on the other side, look at this light!" He yelled as Chisaki turned his focus onto his sword as it was brought down across his chest. Chisaki felt nothing upon seeing him do this as he couldn't help but laugh.
"I told you before, that sword isn't enough to cut me fool!" He said before noticing a blue glow appearing on his body from where Lancelot had cut.
"Arondight - Overload!" Lancelot yelled as the wound inflicted upon Chisaki erupted. He soon let out a blood-curdling scream as an explosion of magic engulfed the man for a moment before vanishing. Lancelot looked upon Chisaki as he saw that he was still alive, parts of his body were torn off. Specifically, his shoulder, hands, part of his head, and chest cavity were open with some of his organs sticking out or burned by the magical overload throughout his body.
"I-Impossible...H-How can someone like you be so powerful?" Chisaki asked while coughing up blood and gasping for air. "H-How can you have...this...much skill and strength...it's almost on p-par with A-All Might…Who….what are you!?"
"I am Lancelot. One of the Knights of the Round Table." He said while walking up to him with his sword at the ready. "I served the King of Britain once in the past. And I intend to serve her once again now that I've been summoned to this world."
"T-That doesn't make any s-sense..."
"Perhaps, but you won't be around to know what I am," Lancelot said before cutting off Chisaki's head. "May the Lord God have mercy on your soul, human."
"My...Goal...my...wish." These were the last things that were said as Chisaki's head lay on the ground, motionless and dead. The servant couldn't help but pity the man that he killed. What would have driven him to do such heinous actions to a little girl...more importantly, what was he talking about making a quirkless world...was he trying to change something odd about this world he was in? Well, it doesn't matter, he killed the monster that was hurting a little girl. Now he has another job to do...take out the villains that reside within this building he was in and take the girl far away from this place...maybe taking her to his king would be the safest place to hide her in for the time being...Right?
"I can't believe I got a decent grade on Mr. Aizawa's test," Mina said as she, Lily, and Mineta were making their way down the hallway. With the assistance of Kama and Artemis, Mina and Mineta were able to get through each class they had with just an average level of intelligence. Specifically, they were currently C and B rank students in each class, so as to not cause suspicion as Lily suggested.
"With the other classes, they weren't that hard. Though Ectoplasm's class is another story." Mineta said as he rubbed the temple of his forehead. "Seriously, all his math problems are too difficult to understand. He does know that we're still kids, right?"
"Teenagers to be accurate, but you're not wrong about him teaching us higher levels of mathematics. Momo and Midoriya might be able to get it, but not everyone can."
"Don't you fall under that category?" Mina asked as Lily shook her head.
"I know the basics like add, subtract, multiply, and division. But when are we going to use linear statistics in everyday life? Unless you're going to college and majoring in a career involving stuff like that. But stuff like that will not help you fight against people that want to kill you or something along the lines of that."
"Is that why you sleep during that class?" Mineta asked.
"Naw, I fell asleep in that class because I've been making gemstones during the night," Lily said before pulling out a ruby color gemstone. "They take a while to make, seeing how I have to make the gem and place the magic inside them for use."
"Oh, so pretty~," Mina said as she eyed the gemstone. "And you can make these on the spot?"
"Yeah, but putting magic inside them is a real pain without having the gem exploding." She said before placing the gem into her tail. "Took me a while to figure out how to not let that happen…don't ask me how that turned out."
"You saying that just makes us curious~"
"And it will be a cold day in hell before I tell you both what happened." She said before making their way to the rooftop of the school. "I think this will be a perfect place to hang out and talk in secret during lunch."
"Isn't this place off-limits to students?" Mineta asked as Lily rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, but the teachers don't have to know. Plus Midnight's still trying to find me after giving her the slip down the staircase."
"You need to be nice to her. I mean, I know you have your issues with heroes, but she seems to want to help you." Mina said as she and Mineta followed after Lily.
"I have nothing against her as a person. But she's still a hero that works for the government. The moment they make the call to have my ass arrested, then she'll be coming after me along with the other pro heroes. But I doubt they'll try and do that after the fight I'll be having." She said as Mina and Mineta looked at each other for a moment before looking back at Lily as Mineta spoke up.
"What fight?"
"Right, forgot to mention this. I made a deal with Principal Nezu. If I win a fight with two pro-heroes, then he won't take away my money and I get to skip out on classwork and focus on training only." She said before noticing Mina's and Mineta's dumbfounded expressions. "What?"
"Seriously how is it that you keep getting yourself into trouble…and it's only been...what day two?" Mina asked.
"Do you know who you'll be fighting?" Mineta asked.
"They wouldn't tell me, but Artoria said it'll be Mount Lady and Ryukyu. Not that hard to take down seeing how I'm fighting against two giants." She said as Artoria spoke up.
"Yeah, but you're somewhat limited. You can't use your sword, can't kill them, can't use her gemstone, nor can you use your noble phantasm Excalibur." She said, which took Mina and Mineta by surprise by the limitations placed on Lily. "But that doesn't mean she can't use her other weapon."
"Which I do have," Lily said before pulling out a dagger with the blade part made out of diamonds. "I keep a bunch of daggers, throwing knives, and a few other weapons hidden away in my tail."
"...You know, I'm not surprised by that. Especially given who you are." Mineta said as Lily grins and places the dagger back into her tail. "But are you sure you can handle two high-ranking heroes?"
"If I can handle the number two hero, I'm pretty sure I can handle a giant and a dragon…again."
"Technically you just kicked him into a river of water." Artoria corrected as it caused Lily to deadpan. "You know it's true."
"Look, the point is that I can handle myself. I mean I am the self-proclaimed villain killer, after all," She said before sitting down on the ground and pulling out a bag of snacks and their lunch from out of her tail for them to eat. "But for now, let's just eat before lunch is over."
"I suppose," Mina said as she and Mineta sat down next to Lily and began to eat their food while chatting with each other.
