It was a normal sunny day within Wall Rose. Eren and Frieda roamed around the the Survey Corps. training camp to meet with Hange Zoe. They both saw many soldiers around them working on different Survey Corps. activities and preparing for their next expedition, which was a month away.
"Everyone seems to be really busy and happy." Frieda noted as she walked beside Eren. She noticed less than a dozen smiles on people's faces as she passed people.
"They're preparing for the next expedition, which is a month from now." Eren stated, then saw some familiar faces that he had affiliated with in the past, such as Eld Jinn and Olou Bozado. They walked by Eren, not knowing who he is.
"I'm sure everyone is excited to reach the ocean." Frieda smiled.
"Yeah. This will be the first time the Survey Corps. will not suffer any casualties and make it towards the ocean." Eren stated, as he reminisced reaching the ocean, once.
"How many years did it take you-I mean, the Survey Corps. reach the ocean?" Frieda asked, while looking at Eren.
"I joined the Survey Corps. in the year, Eight Fifty, despite my late mother's wishes. There were losses, but we did manage to find out the secrets within my dad's basement. A year after we chased away the Warrior Unit, we finally made it to the ocean that next spring. And not long did we encounter Marley..." Eren stated.
"Why hello, there!"
"Eh?"
Their conversation was suddenly interrupted. They both looked forward to see an eager Hange Zoe, waving at them.
"It's Squad Leader Hange." Frieda said, before approaching her.
'And here comes the number of experiments that we're about to endure.' Eren remained silent and nearly rolled both his eyes.
"Nice to see you two lovebirds getting along. Now, are you ready to dedicate your all to the Survey Corps.?" Hange asked in a positive manner.
Both Eren and Frieda looked at each other for a second, then solute to her by placing one left hand behind their back and one right hand on their hearts. "Yes!" Both Titan Shifters replied.
"Good. We have a lot of work to do, before our next expedition." Hange said.
One Month Later
During the next month, Eren and Frieda agreed in working and train with the Survey Corps. Due to Eren Yeager's past experience with the Surbey Corps. he would do a number of physical experiments with the Survey Corps. so they can learn and gain early experiments while fighting Titan Shifters. He also invented and taught the Survey Corps. about Thunder Spears, alongside Hange Zoe.
Meanwhile, while Frieda would teach them about the Nine Titan powers, their strengths and weaknesses. She would also teach them about the progenitor, Ymir Fritz and the Great Titan War that took place a century ago. Frieda Reiss never learned to use vertical maneuvering gear, but had showed the higherups of the Survey Corps. that she was capable of controlling Pure Titans at will, making her valuable and too precious to lose.
As for the Warrior Unit, Frieda had convinced Bertoldt Hoover who feared death agreed to work with Paradis-almost instantly. Annie Leonhardt had no trouble agreeing to the Survey Corps. demands, as long as she gets to return to Marley and see her father. Reiner Braun acted rebellious and refused to work with Paradis, as he saw them as islanders of devils. It took a total of two weeks for the officials to get to Reiner, until Frieda Reiss had stepped in and altered some of his memories in order to make Reiner cooperate.
The time was Nine in the morning and the sun had risen in the sky. The Survey Corps were now in Shiganshina District, There were a total of two hundred soldiers all dressed in green cloaks, riding on horseback and ready to leave the walls, as soon as the Shiganshina gates open. There were a few caravans attached to horses riding behind them.
The Warrior Unit, such as Bertoldt, Reiner and Annie were placed inside of a single caravan a few yards apart from one another. There were at least four soldiers guarding each caravan, in case they turned on the Survey Corps.
Commander Erwin, the head of the Survey Corps. had sat on his white horse in the front of the as he was prepared to lead his soldiers towards the ocean.
"The gate opens in sixty seconds! Everyone be sharp!" A Survey Corps. soldier alerted everyone.
"Sir, yessir!" Most soldiers replied.
Levi had his normal expression on his face. Frowning while on horseback.
Both Eren and Frieda were on horseback next to each other, side-by-side. Waiting for the Shiganshina gate to open. Frieda smiled at Eren, who was on her left and Eren smiled back at her.
"Ah?" Fried lightly gasped, as she then noticed three kids standing on boxes and watching from the sidelines.
"Hm?" Eren looked at Frieda a little confused, then turned his head towards the far left to see what she was looking at. "Uh?" He lightly gasped to see a young group of kids looking he knew too well, looking at the Survey Corps. He saw a boy with blonde hair, who was wearing light yellowish-brown pants with black suspenders attached to it, brown shoes, a white buttoned shirt and a light blue jacket, which happened to be Armin Arlert. Then he saw a young dark haired girl that wore a white dress, a pink jacket, brown slippers and a red scarf around her neck, which happened to be Mikasa Ackerman. An last but not least, he saw younger self, who wore dark brown pants, light brown shoes, a green shirt and a brown jacket.
The young Mikasa gasped as she spotted the older counterpart of Eren Yeager.
"Wow! I never thought the Survey Corp. would have this many soldiers..." A young Armin smiled, as he gazed at the Survey Corps. that were ready to leave the walls.
"It's amazing, right Armin? I cant wait until I..." As the younger Eren Yeager was looking around, gazing at the Survey Corps. he suddenly spotted a person with a dark brown bun for a second.
As soon as Adult Eren noticed that his younger counterpart discovered him, he quickly turned his sight away from him and placed on his hoodie.
"Huh?" Armin looked at the younger Eren that was next to him and missed it.
Adult Eren grunted. 'That's me... and Mikasa... and Armin...' His eyes stared at the back of his horse's head.
Frieda looked at the Eren next to her, who seemed to be a bit nervous. She kindly moved her horse closer to Eren's, being two feet apart. She then caught his attention. "He looks just like you." she joked.
Eren remained quiet a bit and stared at Frieda.
"It's okay. Looking at yourself won't hurt." Frieda said.
Eren blinked for a second, then attempted to slowly turn his head and look at his younger counterpart again, until...
"This is it, everyone! The time for humanity within Paradis has come to take another step forward! Now let's show our enemies what we're made of!" A Survey Corps. soldier yelled.
"Right!" Most people responded by raising their right hand within the air.
The Survey Corp. soldier begun counting down. "The gate will now open in Ten... Nine... Eight..."
Many Survey Corp. soldiers had begun counting down. "Seven... Six... Five... Four... Three... Two... One!"
Four seconds later, the large gate within Shiganshina had begun opening.
"Push forward!" Erwin screamed. His white horse shouted in horse language and ran forward outside the gates. Then, multiple soldiers on horseback roared and followed their commander outside the walls, including Eren and Frieda which rode side-by-side.
Captain Levi had ridden behind him.
"The Fifty-Fourth Expedition has now begun! Move out!" Erwin roared as he led the charge outside the walls.
Ten Minutes Later
The young group of kids, Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert just watched the Survey Corps. leave Wall Maria. Now they were walking through the streets of Shiganshina as they had nothing really to do. Eren looked at the sky while walking ahead of his friends.
"I've never seen so many Survey Corp. soldiers during one expedition, before. There had to be over a hundred of them, for sure." Armin said as he walked behind Armin.
"Yeah. And did you see how hyped and ready they all were, when the gate was opening? It was like they were going to conquer the outside world! I can't wait to get a taste of that feeling when I join." Eren was feeling a bit energetic after watching the Survey Corps. leave the walls. A smile had appeared on his face.
Armin chuckled. "You seemed pumped up to join the Survey Corps. Eren."
"I am pumped up!" Eren grabbed his right bicep to show his muscles. "They're the reason I want to see the outside world! That's why I'm so eager to become one of them!"
Mikasa continued to walk behind Eren, then suddenly she remembered seeing a man with a dark brown manbun. She noticed that the man had green eyes, just like Eren.
"Eren..." Mikasa muttered.
"What is it, Mikasa?" Eren asked.
"Did you see that man in the Survey Corps.?" Mikasa asked Eren's younger counterpart.
"What man?" Eren stopped walking for a moment and looked back at Mikasa.
"There was a man in the Survey Corps. riding on a brown horse next to a woman with black hair and light blue eyes. His dark hair was wrapped in a bun. As soon as he looked in our direction, he turned away and put on his hoodie." Mikasa described the Adult Eren Yeager.
"Huh?" Armin looked at Mikasa, as he had no clue.
Eren looked down at the street as he walked. "Yeah... I think I know who you're talking about. I couldn't get a good look at the guy. It looked like he was hiding from someone."
"He kind of look almost just like you, Eren." Mikasa stated as she tried comparing both males in her mind.
Eren threw his arms behind his head as he walked. He also couldn't help but wonder, who was that one soldier that he spotted. He could tell that the soldier had brown hair, but didn't get a good enough look at his face. He started thinking to himself. 'Who is that guy?'
As the Survey Corps. continued pushing forward toward the ocean, everyone seemed fine. Commander Erwin had set up a plan, a plan that would allow the Survey Corps. to reach the ocean and suffer zero casualties. As the Survey Corps. had ridden to their destination, Erwin would instruct Frieda Reiss to use her Founding Titan to paralyze any nearby Titans within their range and have soldiers quietly execute them. This formation had continued on for an entire day.
The Warrior Unit weren't allowed to participate in helping, as the Survey Corps. believed that they would turn tail and run. Bertoldt, Reiner and Annie had cloth tied around their mouth, their arms and legs tied with strong rope. They remained in their individual wagons with cloths tied around their mouth, their with multiple soldiers watching and guarding them.
The Next Day
The Survey Corps. had successfully ridden all the way towards the ocean, far south on Paradis Island. Many Titans were killed and not a single soldier has suffered a single casualty, since leaving the walls. They Survey Corps. now stood on top of a cliff staring at the large blue body called the ocean.
Commander Erwin Smith standing at the edge of the cliff while on horseback. Captain Levi stood on Erwin's right and Hange stood on his left.
"We did it..." Hange murmured as she stared at the large blue body of water.
Commander Erwin took a deep breathe. He then gave a loud roar and threw his right arm within the air, meaning that the Survey Corps. had finally succeeded in making it to the outside world. Over a hundred Survey Corp. soldiers screamed after Erwin, knowing that they had succeeded in their mission.
One Hour Later
Eren and Frieda had sat next to each other on top of sand by the ocean water, holding hands and gazed upon the water. They relaxed together on the beach while most of the Survey Corps. were working and setting up their base.
"This feels really nice, Eren." Frieda smiled, as she can feel the warm rays of the sun on her skin.
"The weather or us making it to the ocean?" Eren replied, then got a flashback of himself, Mikasa and Armin reaching the ocean.
Frieda yawned. "Both." She felt her eyes get a little heavy, then leaned her head on Eren's shoulder. "Sorry, I hope you don't mind..."
"Not at all." Eren shook his head no.
"What are we gonna do when Marley shows up?" Frieda asked, while resting on Eren's shoulder.
Eren paused, then gained another flashback on meeting Yelena.
"We'll do what we have to." Eren simply replied.
"Okay." Frieda said. Then a random question had came to her mind. "Eren?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I bring something back for Historia?" Frieda asked.
"Sure you can." Eren smiled as he watched Frieda nearly fall asleep on his shoulder. He then stared towards the ocean, watching the blue waves of the water.
