Emma knew what the hook meant on the man standing before her. She was kept up to date on current events, and the sudden appearance of a new pirate ship half a year ago led by a man called Captain Hook had definitely been part of her training. There were four men in total facing her, all pirates, and she didn't feel an ounce of fear. Of course, it helped that she had the pirate captain's own sword pointed at his throat.
She then noticed that he held a cocky look on his face, and that fact startled her. He seemed completely unperturbed by her actions and her threat. She tightened her grip and took a half-step forward, not cutting his skin at all. She tried to look threatening, and she mused that it would be a lot easier if she weren't wildly attracted to the man.
"What is it you want, Lass? I assure you that if it's my body, you don't have to threaten me." As he said that, he slowly raised his hook, she knew what he was going to do, yet still; she didn't stop him. He hooked the blade of the sword she had clutched in her hand and lowered it from his throat.
She quietly and imperceptibly pulled on her magic. She wanted to think up a good lie to get him to help her sail away to the next port. Granny and Roland were good trackers, and no matter how good a job she did hiding her tracks (a fabulous one since Robin trained her), eventually, they'd find her. She almost let the shock register on her face when she felt what she should do. Not one to question her magic, she said, "I need a ship to help me sail away. I'm going to stop the Evil Queen and the Dark One." For some reason, she sensed the truth would work the best.
Killian didn't even bother to hide the surprise on his face. "And what do you think you can do to the likes of them? You're such a delicate little thing."
She laughed at that. "I stole your sword, Pirate."
"So? Do you think the Dark One carries a sword? He has magic!"
She raised her hand, and with a puff of smoke, his hook was in her hand. "So do I."
He grumbled and snatched the hook back from her hand, annoyed. "Cute parlor trick," he said as he reattached it. "Hardly going to stop anyone, is it?"
She wanted to stomp her foot like a child, but she refrained. "I know things!"
"Like how to stop the Dark One?" He asked, unimpressed. He was certain she was ignorant. "I want to kill him."
"Only if you're a monster like him! You want to become the Dark One?!"
"What in the bloody hell are you talking about!?"
She huffed, "To kill him, you must steal the Dark One dagger. It has his name on it. Then, you have to stab him with it –problem is, then you become the Dark One!"
"What?"
"He killed the previous Dark One with his dagger, then his name was written on it magically."
"Rumplestiltskin?"
"You know his name!? How?"
He eyed her wearily, "I have my ways." He then changed the subject to the one he cared about. "So, to kill him, I'd have to become him. Wait? I thought you wanted to kill him."
"No, I said I wanted to stop him. There is another realm, a land without magic. He could be very much alive still and have no power. It seems to me like that would be worse than death for him."
Killian pondered that and smiled. "Aye, it might be."
"I want to send him and the Evil Queen to the land without magic. All I have to do is find a magic bean; I have enough magic to make it take them there."
Killian and the other pirates with him burst out laughing. He could barely breathe, and he thought about how her joke was more likely to kill him than the sword she had pointed at him. "Very funny! They don't exist anymore, even in this land. I know because I'm a pirate, and I know where everything of value is. I know my treasure and a magic bean isn't to be had."
She didn't want to explain that somehow, in her very bones, she knew there was more than one out there. Even her parents didn't listen to her. Snow had shouted at her that even if they still existed, the Dark One would be in possession of them all. To be fair to Snow, Emma had started shouting first.
Emma said, "That's not your concern. I would like to barter for passage to the next port town, and I'll make my own way from there."
Killian raised one eyebrow at her and tisked, "You really want to risk your life on a pirate ship?"
"I have magic."
He rolled his eyes, "Cute. You have hedge witch magic, and you think you can protect yourself. This will be hilarious."
