Outside the Thunder Showroom….
After the Show….
Luke POV
It's 9:30pm and the doors for the showroom open. Finally! Dozens of women exit chatting excitedly. "That was such a good show!" I hear someone say.
"That girl in front in the black dress was super lucky to be on stage with that guy dressed as a firefighter!" someone else adds.
"That kiss with the water, oh my god talk about erotic! I think I would've cum right then and there, in front of everyone." Another one comments.
And finally, "You could see the attraction between the two of them, I wonder if they know each other?"
Oh boy, women are terrible! I think to myself. Wait a minute! It can't be. Kiss? On the stage? What the fuck? I scream silently to myself. This just gets better and better.
Time keeps passing slowly and I keep looking at my watch. It's 10:00 pm and I'm still not seeing the girls and I'm starting to get antsy.
"I wonder what's taking so long? Ryan asks.
Reynolds shrugs, "Who knows. It can be anything, but I don't think it's anything to worry about."
I am staring intently at the door, and it looks like there aren't many people left. Did they slip out unnoticed when we weren't looking? I think to myself.
"Certainly, we didn't miss them exiting the showroom," I say.
Just as those words leave my lips the door opens again and out walk a couple of the guys with Kate, Ana and Rhiann. It looks like Rhiann is holding hands with one of the guys. I feel myself bristle with jealousy. What the fuck? Please tell me I'm seeing things.
"It looks like they are leaving with them. Maybe to have a drink?" Ryan says.
I look at him and shrug, "Maybe. We need to follow them and see where they go."
"Shit!" Ryan mutters, "I think she's sensing we're nearby!"
We fade back into the shadows, once again undetected.
"We're going to be spotted at some time. I just know it. We've got to be more careful." I say.
Suddenly, my phone goes off. I look down and see that it's a message from Taylor.
T: How's it going Luke?
L: It's fine. We haven't been spotted yet but came close a few times.
T: Well, just keep watch. We landed but we convinced Grey to keep his distance so we're getting ready to head back to Seattle.
L: What? How the hell did you accomplish that?
T: Actually, Elliot did. He told him enough to convince him to back off and not push his luck
Elliot knows a lot more than anyone and is refusing to say anything. He says we need to talk to Ana and Kate first and he won't betray them.
L: So, what do you want us to do?
T: You guys can stay there and keep watch. From a distance. There's no need to do anything unless they are in danger, but Grey wants you to keep an eye on them. Keep me updated
L: Ok
Ryan and Reynolds are looking at me. "Well? I'm assuming it was T? What did he say?" Ryan asks.
"They are heading back to Seattle. Elliot convinced Grey to back off. I guess he knows more than anyone but refuses to say anything. Something about not betraying Ana and Kate. T wants us to stay here and keep watch from a distance, which means no interfering in their activities, unless they are physically in danger. You know, like getting hit by cars." I reply, my voice thick with sarcasm.
Ryan rolls his eyes, "This is ridiculous. We shouldn't even be here but Grey has issues and can't be reasoned with. At least we're getting paid to do it, but it's sad that we're wasting time here."
I don't respond, and Reynolds just chuckles.
This is frustrating. I want to know what they're doing at all times, who they're with, where they're going, the whole nine yards. Things were easier when we knew Grey was coming, but now that he's leaving again, because of Elliot, it's difficult. We can't do anything, and I have to sit here and watch Rhiann go off with some guy she doesn't even know. Not that she knows me, but that's irrelevant. I was hoping to change that when Grey got here. Now, there's no chance of that happening any time soon. Fuck!
We follow them to a place called The Lounge and watch them go into a private room. Great, it's closed off and the entrance isn't visible from the outside. We're going to have to go in if we want to see what's happening. We sit at the bar near the entrance. We can only see a portion of the inside of the room because of the frosted walls and the angle of the door. Even though Grey isn't here we're still technically working so we can't drink alcohol, so we order three non-alcohol beers and water. I could really use a stiff drink right about now I glance inside the room, as much as I can, and see Rhiann sitting on a love seat and the bearded guy standing in front of her. He looks like he's asking for permission to sit next to her. How fucking lame is that? A waitress goes into the room, and it looks like she's taking their order. She walks out and goes directly to the bar and collects their drinks when they're ready. From what I can tell there's four beers, two fruity drinks and a dark alcoholic drink. A random thought pops into my head, I wonder who's drinking what? I'll never find out because I can't see into the room, not that it matters, I was just curious.
A few minutes later, we see Rhiann walk to the door. She pauses and looks back into the room, when she turns back around, she's got a strange look on her face. I wonder what that's about? She then turns back around looking for something, walks over to the bar and has a brief conversation with one bartender who then waves over the other bartender. She has a brief conversation and hands him something and he smiles, thanks her, and waves as she walks away with a smile on her face. Damn she's beautiful when she smiles. She stops just before entering the room again and looks around with a puzzled look on her face, smile vanishing.
"Fuck guys, she's looking around. Look normal." I say to Ryan and Reynolds.
I have to slouch down to try even remotely to look like a normal sized guy. I look to my right and put my head on my hand looking up at the tv's playing sports games. It must work because she turns and heads back into the room.
"This is getting more and more difficult to blend into the crowd. I know we're going to get caught if we're any closer. Let's get out of here and go into the casino where's there are more places to disappear." Ryan says in a low voice.
Reynolds and I both agree and we throw a tip on the bar, and we walk out quickly. I glance into the room as we're leaving and see the bearded guy holding out his hand to Rhiann helping her sit down next to him. God damn it! I hate this!
