we originally reported that the Super Mario Bros. animated movie had not received an official release date prior to New York Comic Con's announcement. However, Nintendo revealed back in April 2022 that the film will launch on 7th April 2023 in North America and 28th April in Japan.

Original article: Illumination's upcoming animated Super Mario Bros. movie has finally nailed down a release date. The film will be released on 7th April 2023, according to New York Comic Con's official Twitter account (which Illumination has also retweeted).
After a little bit of a palaver around the release window just a few weeks ago, the film has settled into its Spring window very nicely. Plus, we'll be getting a first look at the film at next month's New York Comic Con.
On 6th October at 4pm EST, New York Comic Con attendees will be able to watch a teaser for Mario's cinematic return.
Mario smiled at this and winks at the screen.
