Pyrrha sighed as she looked in the mirror, doing some final checks on her red dress. It was a lovely turtleneck dress that was backless and sleeveless. It had been a gift from one of her sponsors her agent had sent her to wear for the dance so as to advertise the product. She had been debating whether to attend the Beacon dance, and in the end, decided to go stag.

Pyrrha certainly didn't want to be the third wheel on Nora and Ren's 'not date' date, even if they tried their best to include her. It was just too awkward, even for her.

She had originally planned to just head to the library or gym, as she wouldn't be disturbed since everybody would be at the dance. However, connecting with other upcoming Huntresses and Huntsmen was what was expected of her, so in the end, she decided to attend.

'I know Ruby and Yang didn't ask anyone to go with them, and it seems like Weiss didn't either,' hummed Pyrrha as she brushed her hair, 'It's not like I'm the only one who didn't ask or get asked.'

Finishing up with that, she began to put her green eyeshadow for the final touch when….

"Pyrrha!" shouted Nora, kicking the door open.

"Nora!" Pyrrha half shrieked in surprise, "Didn't Ren tell you NOT to kick open the doors?"

"Whatever, we got more important stuff to do!" grinned Nora.

"Like getting ready for the dance?" asked Pyrrha with her eyes raised as she began to put the final touches, "You haven't even switched into your dress."

Glancing at the mirror, she confirmed that Nora was still wearing her school uniform.

"Bah, that's an easy fix!" grinned Nora as she zoomed past Pyrrha's back from one side, going into her blindspot before suddenly appearing in her dress with her makeup already done on the other side.

Pyrrha blinked at the sudden change of clothes from one transition to the next without her noticing, but filed that away as a part of Nora's 'quirk'. There were a lot of things that Nora seemed to be able to do that didn't seem to make sense, like eating out a whole buffet of pancakes and yet somehow not even gaining a single pound.

"So what's so important?" asked Pyrrha as she finished putting the final touches of her makeup.

"Easy, you're coming with me!" declared Nora as she grabbed Pyrrha's wrist, dragging her out of the room.

"What!? Wait, don't pull that hard!" yelped Pyrrha as she quickly used her Semblance to grab her Scroll from her table.

Nora ignored her, dragging her down the hallway and out of the building.

"Nora! Would you please tell me what's going on?" asked Pyrrha as she fruitlessly tried to pull her arm off Nora's grip. One thing Nora had Pyrrha beat was pure raw strength.

"You'll see!" giggled Nora as she dragged Pyrrha to a nearby classroom.

"Nora? The dance is that way," said Pyrrha in confusion, pointing to where everybody else was starting to gather.

"Yea, we'll go there soon, but first, you need to wear this!" exclaimed Nora as she pulled something from within her cleavage, snapping it onto Pyrrha's wrist.

Pyrrha raised her eyebrow as she took a look at it to see it was a flower corsage composed of mini gladiolus.

"And why would I need this?" asked Pyrrha.

"Dunno, Ren said it would be appropriate," shrugged Nora, "Other than that, the others should've already finished by now!"

Before Pyrrha could even ask what was finished, the door to a classroom opened to reveal Ren coming out.

"All done?" asked Nora, to which Ren nodded.

"Luckily, Coco already had all his measurements from Velvet's help. After that, it was a simple matter of getting a suit for him. Professor Goodwitch had some spares that she could get, and Professor Peach managed to help resize it perfectly," replied Ren, "Now, let's not delay this anymore. Pyrrha, Nora and I will be going ahead. If you could just enter the classroom really quick, everything will be explained."

With that, Ren allowed Nora to hook her arms around his and slightly dragged him to the dance.

Mystified, Pyrrha tried to connect everything that had been said. Based on the statements earlier, not only was Nora on it, even Ren, Glynda, and Peach were on it.

Deciding to satisfy her curiosity, Pyrrha took a deep breath and opened the door.

Rewind the clock an hour before

"Nora! Why are you kidnapping me again!?" wailed Jaune as they finally stopped at a classroom in Beacon.

"Because you're such an easy target!" cackled Nora, causing Jaune to sight, "But really, it's for Pyrrha's sake."

"Pyrrha? Did something happen to her?" asked Jaune worriedly.

"Oh nothing serious," shrugged Nora, "Nothing the evening won't fix. Now then, Ren! Chop chop!"

Jaune turned around to see Ren holding a suit with Professor Peach next to him.

"Now hold still, we have to make sure this fits you right, deary," said Professor Peach as she began to quickly measure Jaune.

"Hold on, what's going on?" asked Jaune in confusion.

"Nora decided it would be a good idea to invite you to the Beacon dance," summarized Ren succinctly, "Not only that, she managed to get permission from the Beacon staff to do so. She managed to learn something from her detention and found a loophole to 'legally' kidnap you so you could participate in the dance."

Jaune remained silent for a good minute before eyeing Ren, "And my whole staff was in on this?"

"Yep!" grinned Nora, "I told them!"

Jaune could only sigh and smile ruefully as he lifted his arms up upon Peach's orders, "Alright fine. I'll go since you guys twisted my arms on this matter."

"Great! Then we'll need to get you all set up and probably showered," grinned Nora, "Now then, operation Dance is in motion!"

Back to present

Jaune hummed as he finished tying his bowtie before looking down at the flower Ren had pinned onto his chest.

'Is this supposed to tell me whom I'm going to the dance with?' thought Jaune, 'Wonder who it is? Maybe a friend of theirs at Beacon that couldn't find a date? Pyrrha? Nah, can't be. She's way too popular to not be asked.'

"Jaune?"

Jaune turned around to see Pyrrha, blinking slightly as he witnessed her in a red dress that emphasized her beauty as well as her hair.

"Pyrrha?" said Jaune as he shook his head a little, "What are you doing here?"

"I should ask you that," replied Pyrrha, "Why are you here, and in a suit?"

"Nora dragged me here for the Beacon dance," chuckled Jaune, "Apparently I'm supposed to be someone's partner for the dance. What are you doing here? Won't you be late meeting up with yours?"

Pyrrha saw the gladiolus flower pinned onto Jaune's chest before realizing what her teammates had just done.

'Nora, Ren, I don't even know whether I should be happy or mad that you did this,' thought Pyrrha to herself.

"Well I'd say I'm just in time," smiled Pyrrha as she stepped forward, "I'm looking at my partner for the dance right now."

Jaune blinked as he tried to decipher that statement. He noticed the corsage on Pyrrha's wrist was the same flower as the one on his chest, trying to draw the connection between the two. It wasn't long before Jaune finally figured it out. He had seen one of his older sisters wearing a flower corsage that matched her date's flower when the two were heading to a formal dance.

"Well then, shall we depart, my lady?" gestured Jaune as he held out his elbow.

Pyrrha slightly giggled before wrapping her arms around his, "We shall. Otherwise, you'll get lost."

"That is true," nodded Jaune, "Though I think I could just follow the crowd. Shouldn't be that hard."

Pyrrha merely shrugged as the two exited the building, walking towards the auditorium where the dance was going to be.

Yang was at the front, greeting everyone that came in. Though she had not seen Blake yet, she was sure that she would come. Weiss was at the tables, caring for the flowers, though in reality, she was moping. Weiss had told them that she had asked Neptune to the dance, only to be rejected. So to cover her misery, she stated that she was just making sure everything was up to par.

'I'll comfort her later,' thought Yang as she made sure Ruby was ok, who was currently struggling with high heels. Sure, she had gone stag, but that was because she was in charge of greeting people and other stuff! Yang was confident she could easily pick a boy out to the dance floor. There were so many of them that had also come alone, after all.

"Well, well, I didn't expect to see you here!" grinned Yang when she saw Jaune and Pyrrha walking side by side, "You should've told me you were coming! Just this afternoon you said you didn't even know about the dance and that you couldn't possibly come, and yet now you're here with a suit!"

"That'll be Nora," chuckled Jaune, "She had the crazy idea of kidnapping me to the dance, and had Ren prepare a suit for me beforehand without even me knowing."

Yang blinked before having to throw her head back to laugh, "That's totally crazy, and yet that sounds like something she would totally do! Well, you two enjoy your evening together!"

As the two entered, Yang called out to Jaune once more.

"Save a dance for me, alright? It's the least I can do for helping me with Blake."

Jaune nodded politely before the two went to get something to drink first.

The two didn't notice, but there were a lot of students whispering and pointing at Jaune and Pyrrha. More towards Jaune, as they had no idea who he was. But more importantly, he was actually linking arms with THE Pyrrha Nikos.

"Is he an upperclassman at Beacon?" whispered one Beacon student

"No, I've never seen him before. Isn't he from the other academies?" whispered another Beacon student.

"He's not a part of my group, I know who came and who didn't," whispered a Shade student, "He doesn't seem like those uptight Atlas students, so maybe Haven?"

None of these whispers that were proliferating through the crowd mattered to the two as they were distracted by Ruby squealing and welcoming them, followed by Nora and Ren.

"Looks like nobody's dancing yet," noted Jaune as he watched the dance floor being pretty empty.

"Everyone's shy," said Ren as he sipped his punch, "Nobody wants to be the first one on the dance floor for fear of being made a fool. Even Nora isn't going up first, though that's because I don't want her to destroy it before everybody else has had the chance to use it."

"My THUNDER BREAKER DANCED would shock and awe everyone though!" pouted Nora.

"Yes, and break the floor before anyone could use it," shot down Ren.

"Well then, let's break it in then!" grinned Jaune as he pulled Pyrrha, who could only give a small yelp as she was pulled alongside him.

"Wait, this is a bit embarrassing," blushed Pyrrha as the two made it to the center of the dance floor, "I'm not that good of a dancer."

"Please, compared to what you can do, this is nothing," stated Jaune confidently, "Just follow my lead just like I follow your lead in training."

Somehow, they had timed it just in time for one song to end and for another to kick in. Pyrrha was slightly nervous as she stood in front of Jaune, placing her hands on his waist and hand.

Soon, something changed that Pyrrha couldn't believe. As soon as Jaune began to dance, her body automatically moved along with his. Every step, every twirl, every movement moved in sync with the music. And every time Pyrrha made a misstep, Jaune was able to maneuver it to make it a part of their dance. People were mesmerized when they saw the two dancing beautifully on the floor, unable to tear their eyes off.

"Hey, isn't that the masseur?" whispered Reese to Arslan.

"That is," nodded Arslan.

"Man, he knows how to dance," nodded Bolin.

"That's really cool," hummed Neptune as he stood next to Sun and Blake, who had arrived a few minutes before Jaune had pulled Pyrrha to the dance.

"Well, we can't leave them to steal all the show!" grinned Sun as he pulled Blake.

"Sun!" blushed Blake as she tried to resist, "I'm not much of a dancer."

"Ah don't worry! Even if I make a fool out of myself, nobody will remember thanks to Jaune taking the first dance!" grinned Sun, never faltering and not believing that statement. Her fighting style was agile and graceful, so in his belief, it should carry over to her dancing skills.

"This is happening!" grinned Nora as she pulled Ren, who quickly placed his drink on the table before allowing himself to be dragged along.

The song had just ended as Jaune and Pyrrha finished the first dance with Pyrrha tilted backward while Jaune supported her weight, the two of them breathing a little heavier than before.

"Wow," said Pyrrha as Jaune pulled her back on her feet, "I had no idea you were a dancer."

"Yea, well these things tend to happen when you grow up with seven sisters," smiled Jaune, "Ready for the next song?"

Pyrrha could only smile radiantly and nodded as a faster-paced song began to play, where they were quickly joined by others.

Pyrrha felt ecstatic as the second dance ended, enjoying herself.

"Need a drink?" asked Jaune, motioning towards the punch bowl.

"I would love to have one," nodded Pyrrha as the two of them moved to the punch bowl. It was there they saw Ruby just standing there, sipping on a cup while hiding near the punch bowl

"To the socially awkward?" said Jaune as he raised his cup to Ruby.

"Yep," nodded Ruby as she raised her cup to Jaune, clinking against each other.

Pyrrha glanced at Ruby for a second, seeing her just standing there and avoiding the crowd when she had an idea. Ruby was the youngest currently attending Beacon, and with a two-year gap between her and the next youngest student, it made sense she didn't really have any other close friends besides her teammates and team PLN.

Not only that, but Ruby wasn't as outgoing as Yang was, preferring to stick in her own little circle. But attending a dance like this without actually participating in the activities seemed a little sad, so Pyrrha decided to have Ruby enjoy the dance too, even if it meant pushing her out of her comfort zone.

"Actually Jaune, I'm a little tired," said Pyrrha, "I'll take a little break, but you should take Ruby for a song!"

"Wait, what?" blinked Ruby before she tried to back off, "Umm, no, that's alright! I don't know how to dance anyways, it'll be super awkward."

"C'mon Ruby, you can't just stay next to the punch bowl the whole time," chimed in Yang, coming out of nowhere, "Get out there and have fun! Even better, you'll be dancing with someone you know and has already touched your back before."

Ruby didn't even get a chance to say anything else before Yang grabbed her cup away and pushed her into Jaune, who quickly caught her.

"Ummm… ummm," stammered Ruby, slightly blushing at being in such close contact with Jaune.

"May I have this dance with you?" asked Jaune with a smile, causing Ruby to fall silent shyly.

"... Yes," whispered Ruby, "But I really don't know how to dance. I might step on your feet, or worse, trip."

"I have an idea," smiled Jaune, motioning Yang to come, "Can you take her high heels for now? Good, now Ruby, just put your feet on my feet, and I'll guide you."

"Won't that hurt?" asked Ruby, though she was already taking off her high heels. Anything to get out of wearing such shoes was always a plus for her.

"I'm wearing hardbound shoes, not to mention you're pretty light," replied Jaune, "Don't worry, my sisters did the same on me before, and they were heavier."

Though Ruby wasn't fully convinced, she did as Jaune told her, putting her feet on his shoes though trying to avoid putting as much weight on them as possible.

"Come on, let's dance for at least one song," coaxed Jaune before spinning her away from the table and to the dance floor once more.

"Thanks," murmured Yang to Pyrrha once the duo was further in the dance floor, "I know he's your date for the night and all, but-"

"But nothing," smiled Pyrrha, "Ruby should be able to enjoy this dance too."

"Nice dress, by the way. Love the backless turtleneck," commented Yang before looking down on her own, "Would've gotten something a flashier to emphasize my curves, stuff happened. Luckily this dress still fits me, though it is a little tight on the chest."

Before Pyrrha could really comment or look down, two Shade 4th year students walked up to the two of them.

"May we have this dance?" asked the first one.

"Seems like your dance partner left you for another," commented the other.

Pyrrha felt her eyebrow twitch at that accusation, and wanted to say something, but chose to hold her tongue for now. Luckily, Yang quickly took over.

"Sorry boys, she's dancing with me for this song," said Yang as she quickly grabbed Pyrrha's wrist and pulled her to the dance floor.

Though unexpected, Pyrrha didn't resist and followed her lead.

"Thanks, Jaune, that was fun!" grinned Ruby as the song ended, "But I think I'm going to take a little break and hide near the punch bowl again. Maybe I'll get Weiss to join me!"

"Don't hide too much, otherwise you'll miss out on the fun," advised Jaune as Yang and Pyrrha walked up towards them.

"Pyrrha, you mind if I get a dance with Jaune?" asked Yang, "I owe him a dance for the favor this morning."

"Sure, I'll take Ruby to sit down for a bit," nodded Pyrrha, "I could use a little breather after our dance."

"Alright, you better back up what you claimed," grinned Yang as another song started up, "Even if it's going to be for one song, you stated you could go for a long arc. I expect you to be able to keep dancing even if you've already gone through a few songs."

"Challenge accepted," grinned Jaune as he began to dance to the beat.

When dancing with Pyrrha, it was a rather beautiful dance that captivated the audience. With Ruby, it was a cute dance with Jaune obviously guiding Ruby. With Yang, though, it was slightly sexy. Yang moved in ways that flaunted her obvious curves. Every gesture caused nosebleeds from other males who stared too long.

Jaune remained unaffected, having learned to dance various styles, including the one Yang was doing.

"Not bad, you're doing a lot better than some of my old dance partners back at Patch," complimented Yang before turning around, "Almost all of them became catatonic after the first minute."

"And I can see why," replied Jaune as Yang began to scoot closer to him.

The two were now grinding to the beat, with Jaune's hands appropriately placed on her waist that was neither too high nor low.

"Well, I better return you to Pyrrha before she gets jealous!" laughed Yang as the song ended, "That was a nice dance though! Anytime you wanna hit a nightclub with me, just say the word! I haven't had the chance to find a partner to dance with there."

"I'll think about it," waived off Jaune before mentally complimenting himself for being able to maintain his visage. A beauty like Yang grinding against him was a trial in itself.

"Do you need a break?" asked Pyrrha as she showed up with a cup in hand for Jaune.

"I'm good," replied Jaune as he drank the punch Pyrrha had gotten him, "Up for another dance?"

"Of course," nodded Pyrrha eagerly, "Though I am interested in what Yang was doing earlier. Is that another sort of dance? I wonder what sort of dance uses the hips so much."

Naively, Pyrrha shook her hips up and down, performing the twerk. While Jaune was slightly stunned at the sudden move, he quickly stopped her.

"That's not something a star should be doing in public," whispered Jaune hastily, "Let's stick to regular dance moves."

"Mm, alright," nodded Pyrrha. She mentally filed that as something to look up on or ask Yang.

After two more songs, Jaune and Pyrrha finally took a seat to rest up a little. The two of them were chatting when Pyrrha noticed team NDGO looking over at Jaune. Her eyes narrowed as they were whispering to each other before her grip on her cup tightened when she saw Dew pulling her dress down slightly to reveal more of her chest while Nebula hiked her dress up slightly to reveal her legs.

Before they could enact their plans, Jaune was intercepted by Blake and Sun.

"Blake! You look a lot better," smiled Jaune as he saw the bags under her eyes had disappeared.

"Yea, I was worried I'd have to put on some heavy makeup to get rid of them, but your Aura massage did the trick," thanked Blake, "I need to repay you back somehow."

Blake hummed before turning to Sun, "Sun, do you mind if I dance with Jaune for a round?"

"Sure," shrugged Sun, "I can hang out with Neptune for a bit, maybe drag him onto the dance floor instead of chilling on the side."

"Pyrrha?" asked Blake, turning towards her for permission.

"Go ahead," smiled Pyrrha warmly. While she didn't like those girls who were clearly after Jaune for 'nefarious' reasons, she was open to her friends dancing with Jaune.

"Actually, you want to dance together?" suggested Sun, gesturing towards Pyrrha, "All four of us can dance together or close by. I can drag Neptune out later."

Pyrrha didn't see anything wrong with this proposal, so she accepted. The four of them went back to the dance floor once more. Though it soon became Sun and Jaune competing against each other in a dance-off, much to the two girl's enjoyment though.

"Can you do this?" grinned Sun as did a perfect arm wave.

"Easy," grinned Jaune as he mimicked him, challenging him back, "How about this?"

Jaune began to moonwalk, going around Blake for a round before sticking his hand out. Blake instantly knew what he wanted, and so she grabbed it and let Jaune pull her in. Jaune twirled her a few times before dipping her down for a second, pulling her back in and twirling once more.

"Think you can do that?" grinned Sun.

Sun hummed as he tried to moonwalk, but when compared to Jaune's it was too rough. Though He did manage to twirl Pyrrha like so, but Jaune was the overall winner in this battle.

"So, how come Weiss is just sitting there?" asked Jaune curiously as he danced with Blake.

"She's just moping," said Blake, "She asked Neptune to the dance but got rejected. So she made the excuse that she was too busy to dance."

"She certainly doesn't look busy right now," said Jaune with a raised eyebrow.

"Don't tell Weiss this, but I know why Neptune said no," whispered Sun as he leaned over, "You know how Neptune is always about looking cool? He's embarrassed because he doesn't know how to dance. He really does like Weiss, but he's too worried about his 'image'."

"That doesn't seem fair," said Blake with her eyes narrowed.

"That's what I said!" breathed out an exasperated Sun, "That, and I thought it was 'uncool', but Neptune is Neptune. Despite being my partner and friend, he has his quirks."

"Perhaps we should speak to him," said Pyrrha, "Maybe convince him otherwise."

"I can get Yang," grinned Blake, "She can be convincing if needed."

"What should I do?" asked Jaune.

The trio glanced at each other for a second.

"Well….," started Sun, glancing at Pyrrha, "If your date doesn't mind, you can ask Weiss to dance for a song. Clearly you know how to ballroom dance, and Weiss seems the sort of girl that dances to that only."

"I should be offended at that stereotype, but you're not wrong," sighed Blake.

"Anyways, while we convince Neptune to stop acting 'cool' for once, we have Jaune ask Weiss for a dance," continued Sun, "If Neptune sees Weiss dancing with Jaune and having a fun time, it'll get him to finally get off his butt. Don't worry, he won't act violent, it'll ruin his image. But he may ask to cut in. Of course, if Pyrrha doesn't mind that is."

"I'm alright," nodded Pyrrha, "Everyone should enjoy themselves at this dance. Especially the team that helped organize this dance in place of team CFVY."

"Speaking of which, where is Velvet and her team?" asked Jaune as he looked around.

"They got held up on a mission," replied Blake, "It's taking them a lot longer than what the mission time was projected. So team RWBY decided to take charge. Velvet and Coco have managed to help us a little by using their scrolls whenever they have time and guiding Yang and Weiss on a few things."

"I hope they're alright," frowned Jaune. Despite her short employment, Velvet had still been a welcome employee.

"They'll be fine, Coco's a chill leader, she won't do anything that'll get them over their heads," reassured Sun, "Anyways, let's get this operation started. The song's about to end. I think the next song on the playlist is a slow song. Ok Break!"

I decided to break the dance into two parts. Let's see what happens!
