Luz and King were relaxing when two glows suddenly came along: Sonic, Tails, Amy, Anne, and the planters. Then, out of the bathroom came Mario, Yoshi, and Luigi. Hooty came and tried to wrap the new comers up, but Luz told him to back off and the new friends smiled at each other. They all started walking, with Polly riding on Yoshi, Amy poking at Anne's hair, Sonic smirking at Luz, and the others looking around. Luigi was scared and saw a big skull, so he rushed over to Mario, shivering. Tails looked nervous, but Luz waved it off.
Mario, Sonic, Anne, and Luz all went to get their pictures taken, smiling as they went. However, Luigi and the planters tried to join them, but were quickly taken away. Sonic grabbed Anne and quickly ran across the road, with Polly and Sprig using Yoshi to follow. Tails grabbed Hop Pop and Amy and flew over. Suddenly, a monster appeared and ate Anne and the planters, teleporting them away to Wartwood. Sonic hit the monster with homing attacks, while Mario smirked and took out a fire flower, transforming into Fire Mario with his red and white overalls. Luz squealed in delight as Mario tossed a few fireballs. Amy then hit the monster with her hammer, but Mario opened its mouth to find it empty before slamming it shut.
As Team Sonic said their goodbyes, Later Tails spotted a ring in the distance. Mario waved at Sonic as Luigi, Yoshi and Luz waved farewell. Sonic, Amy and Tails then rushed off. Suddenly, Peach popped out of a pipe, followed by Toad. But before anyone could react, Bowser grabbed Peach and jumped into the pipe. Mario and Yoshi quickly followed, with Mario dragging Luigi in as well. Luz and Toad looked at each other stunned. With that, the short crossover was over.
