A sequel to Tomb Raider Is It the End
Prologue
The sound of thunder rumbled through the walls of the desolate cell, the only noise that could be heard in the pitch-black darkness. The air was thick with the stench of despair and defeat. It was a place where hope went to die, and for the Lux Veritatis warrior who hung from the ceiling, it was no different.
Two chains wrapped tightly around his wrists, his weakened figure barely able to hold on. He was the last surviving member of his once mighty order, and his enemies had taken everything from him. His head hung low, eyes tightly shut, refusing to face his own failure.
The warrior had been fooled by a lover, betrayed by his partner, and left with only the pain of their deceit. He wished they would just kill him and end his suffering, but deep down, he knew that they were far from finished with him. His exposed skin was littered with wounds and bruises, the result of countless rounds of torture. The symbol of the Lux Veritatis burned indelibly on his back and arm, a painful reminder of what he had once stood for.
As he hung there, memories of a time before his capture flooded his mind. He remembered the day when the skies turned dark and the sun shone for the last time. Shadows had started to creep into the world he loved so much, a world where his love could have been safe. But now, it was all over. He had lost the Shadow war, and with it, he had lost her. He had lost everything just because of a battle between good and evil.
The warrior's heart was heavy, his soul empty. All he wanted was to see her brown eyes once more and then leave this forsaken world for good. But for now, all he could do was hang there, his body battered and broken, waiting for whatever fate his captors had in store for him. The thunder continued to roll through the air, a constant reminder of the violence that had brought him to this dark place.
