Chapter 11: Keeper of secrets

"Your father" Lara said in surprise "Why keep it a secret?"

"Because people want him dead" Luke answered

"Why do they want him dead?" Lara asked

"My father knows to much of this world history no one knows yet and that there are people who don't want these secrets of history to come out, so he hides from everyone even me to be safe." Luke answered. "But I always find him, it's a connection."

"Okay, what's up with the oil's?" Lara asked

"I use them to keep me alive and young" a voice came from the shadows

Lara looked to the shadows and took out the oil "Please keeper of secrets I need to get to the witch to get the calling mirror for my love and the last of his order and maybe still save this cursed world. He is being held by his will by a Nephilim named Karel." Lara said bowing in front of him.

"You want the Tomorrow peoples to get him out." The keeper answered still staying in the shadows not showing his face.

"Yes there my last hope"

"I can listen to your heart, my dear and I can understand how much you love him but you're wasting your time, the tomorrow people's leader is already on her way to break him out."

"How I didn't call her to help?" Lara said in surprise

"Irene and Kurtis grew up together in their childhood and became best friends until the war came and split them up. Kurtis rebelled and Irene is then chosen to become leader after her father had gotten killed by their most hated enemy." The keeper said

Lara didn't say a word, she only thought about Kurtis and Irene and what she had learned about them then she needed to ask "did they ever love each other?"

"Kurtis no, he only needed a friend and she is the closest he could get to friends"

"But Irene"

"But Irene, she fell hard for him and had a big crush on and she still does. The day Kurtis had gone away she wanted to confess her love for him and got heartbroken when hearing that he left, that he rebelled."

"I see" Lara said and started walking back how they came in. "If I may ask?"

"Go on"

"Will she try to tell him now?" Lara asked a tear running down her cheek

"Yes she will because she had learned that Kurtis only love had left him in the hands of his enemies to save herself" the keeper answered.

"Thanks Keeper here's the oil, be safe, you both."

"I am not coming with you?" Luke asked

"No, stay with your father until I'm back because then we'll then all help again to bring this world back." Lara said and walked out.

The days past by and everyday were the same, Karel's men came in tortured him and then Karel will then appear and mock him then leave again. Kurtis strength isn't there anymore, his hope is gone, his love for the world gone. He wished every day to leave this cursed world and to join his father in heaven in peace.

Kurtis sighted and yelled out loud "Kill me now let it be no more" but silence only came. Then out of nowhere came a light and then he looked up to see her face.

"Irene!" he cried

"Kurtis look what those bastards did to you." She said and came and unlocked the chains making him fall. She then helped him up but he pushed her way and leaned against the wall looking at her

"Why are you here Irene?" Kurtis asked in his broken voice.

"Because I'm your best friend and can't just leave you here to die" Irene answered

"There's more Irene, I know you to well." Kurtis answered.

Before Irene could answered they, both heard a blow upstairs, Nephilims where screaming in terror and then there is silence until the door blow open. After the dust had settled Kurtis looked up and smiled a little, his heart feeling hopes again when he sees her standing there with Lara by her side. How Lara and she found each other didn't matter now.

"Lara and Klara!"

"Lara ran to him and cried out "Kurtis look at yourself, I'm gonna kill Karel." She said and kissed him on lips and he accepted the kiss.

"Lara I thought you left me for good." He said

"No I had to leave to come up with a plan to save you and this world and with Klara's help we can do it."

"Where did you find Klara?" he asked looking at Klara now.

"I bumped into her on my way here." Lara answered

Before Kurtis could answer they heard Karel's voice.

"We better get out of here" Irene said and held out her hands. "Take my hands that I can transport you all back to Lara's hide out." Then everyone took her hand and before they vanished, they all see Karel's angry face and they were gone.

"Father tell me, how did Karel end up here on earth?" Luke asked his father the Keeper of secrets who sat on the chair opposite him.

"It all started many years ago when the mother of all creations had created an angel called Karel and Klara." He paused and went on "Now she had told them about the world they go into but they must protect it from Hides the God of the underworld who wanted to rule the earth. Then Karel got up and sees his mother's powers and wanted to be that powerful, but his mother sees what he wanted to do and sent him to hell." He took a breath "Then like the humans call it a fallen angel, he had become a Nephilim from the help of the God of Hides himself to be more powerful than his mother. He went to his mother and they went to war she and Klara against Karel, but Karel won and placed his mother in an icy tomb that she can sleep forever and never be awaken again but his sister Klara had gotten away injured. He is furies and yelled so loud that wherever his sister is she could hear he would find her and kill her."

"Did he ever kill her or found her again?" Luke asked.

"No he didn't" The keeper answered and went on "She had created a group of her own to defeat and protect the world from evil. She gave them powers like her and she called them the Light of truth now known as the Lux Veritatis. She trained them and every time they went against the Cabal that Karel had created after he had met Eckhardt." He took a sip of his oil "They won every time but she is not happy because every time they came back, she had lost more souls she had trained and she then left, giving the leader 4 shards that they can use to kill any immortal being. No one knows her were a bout and everyone had forgotten her except for the leader of the order he had passed down the story to his children and it went on in his generation until it reached Kurtis." Keeper stopped.

"So Kurtis knows about her?"

"Oh, he sure does" Keeper said "When Kurtis is young, he had been visited by Klara and she told him to leave the Shadow war and to rebel against everyone and he did so two years later he packed his bag and left. Then the year his father got killed she came to him in the legion and told him that it is time for him to come back and fight. He wanted to refuse but she told him what happened to his father and he got angry and went on revenge for his father." The Keeper stopped again.

"And he met Lara Croft in Paris and joint forces in Prague and now they fight together as lovers." Luke answered

"Yes and Klara is here helping them at this very moment." Keeper said

Luke's eyes went wide and his mouth drop. Luke couldn't believe his ears as he listens on what his father told him about the war and how his father knows how this war is going to end.
