Chapter 13: The Tree of life
They are almost at the top of the mountain when a bullet flue by Kurtis. He looked back to see Karel's followers right behind them.
"We better move, here they come" Kurtis yelled to Lara and Klara.
They are climbing faster until they reached the top of the mountain. Kurtis sees the tree from far and looked down and sees that they are almost near.
"Klara now what?" He asked
"Go and talk to the tree it will give you the answers you're looking for, me and Lara will hold them off." Klara said as the first follower came up. "You ready." She asked Lara
"let's do this" She answered and used her powers and shot the follower with and energy bolt Klara did the same with another but there where to many coming up and Lara started to get sick and tired of this and shot two more followers with energy that came out of her but some of the followers where dodging their bolts and five of them came and ambushed Lara as she is busy with others, she didn't know what would happen next.
The followers grabbed Lara by the arms and they hold her so that she couldn't do anything. They forced her onto her knees and two held guns aiming to her head well the other one tied her hands together. The other two went after Klara who is busy fighting others that she didn't know that Lara is down and that there are two who are going to catch her as well but she sensed them near and turn and throw and energy bolt at them and that's when she sees Lara on her knees and Karel who just landed on the ground from the icy sky. She is taken by surprised with a knock on her head making her fall to the ground but she's not unconscious. The follower who hit her on the head grabbed her by the arms and makes her kneel on her knees as well. Karel walked to her and looked down to her beautiful face, with that warm blue eyes and her long brown hair that's now hanging in her face. He laughs making her look at him with hatred and also bit sadness.
Kurtis has reached the tree of life and it looked beautiful, tall and long branches and also it is shining like the sun. Kurtis looked around and sighted, what must I ask, he thought.
"Tree Of Life please show me the way to awaken the Mother of creations?" Kurtis asked
"You can't do it alone, you and she must find the entrance to the tomb where Karel entombed his mother and there you will find the way to awaken but be warned one of you will have to die or take her place to awaken her." It sounded like ten thousand voices talking to Kurtis but he just nodded and thought again.
"What about Klara what will happen to her?" He asked
Again the ten thousand voices answered. "That is up to you, who will you save and who will die to bring the light back to this world."
He sights "I have one last question, is my father alive and did he betray the order to save me."
"Your father is not alive, Karel only said that to make you weaker and no he didn't betray the order he is hanged by Karel in turkey with the rest of the order, you're the only one left."
"Thank you" he said.
"Kurtis this world is dying it's up to you both to save it." The voices said and before Kurtis could answer he got hit by an energy bolt. He got up and looked who it is who hit him.
"Karel!" he shouted and run at him throwing energy bolt at Karel dodge it as fast as it came.
"Kurtis your days are up." Karel said with a laugh and threw Kurtis again with an energy bolt he dodges it as well.
"Enough" they both stopped and looked at the tree of life who is talking to them. "This ground you're standing on is not the battle ground. These holy grounds are not for fighting if you want to fight go to your fighting grounds in the Sahara desert."
"This is not over." Karel said and flew up in the sky leaving Kurtis to stand there and watch. Kurtis turned to the tree.
"He wanted to destroy you." He said.
"He can't even if he wanted to. He planted me so his heart that still has that little good in him is forcing not destroy the thing he loved years ago."
"Karel doesn't have a heart." Kurtis said
"Everyone has a heart even if they are the evillest in the world go your wasting time."
Kurtis nodded and walked back to where he left the girls fighting but he arrived they were gone and there are only dead followers lying on the ground. Karel captured them, shit I need to get to them before it's too late, he thought and climbed down the mountain until he reached the place Irene left them, he found her, and they transported back to Lara's hide out.
