"Okay, everyone! Here are the new batch of monsters!" Katana said as suddenly, smaller versions of Duramboros, Chameleos, Yian Garuga and Alatreon appeared, all being on leashes and being held back by a strange figure.
It was a Zinogre, but noticeably different in appearance. For starters, he was slimmer and walked on his back legs instead of all fours, making him anthropomorphic. He didn't wear armor, but instead he wore a simple grey long sleeve hoodie and black shorts. His blue eyes were framed by black-rimmed glasses.
He growled as the monsters struggled in his grip, muttering curses as he pulled at their leashes. His features lightened up when he saw Katana. "Oh hey Katana! Got the monsters, just as requested!" His voice had a southern drawl, sounding laid back even though he struggled with keeping the monsters held back. A particularly hard tug brought his attention back to his subjects.
"URGH! HEY! YOU FUCKS BETTER COOL IT!" He roared, arcing with electricity that rivaled Thor's. This got the monsters to settle down. Well, except for the Yian Garuga, who spat a fireball at the anthro-monster, forcing him to lose his grip.
With an angry howl, the wolf like monster gave chase after the Bird Wyvern. All the while the others watched in utter confusion at the scene before them.
Ozpin was the first to speak. "Who...is that?" The bespectacled man asked.
"Oh. That's Xenthas. He's a rare humanoid monster." Katana explained.
"Huh...didn't think they'd exist." Qrow commented.
Xenthas, having enough of the Yian Garuga's games, appeared in front of the Bird Wyvern in a flash of lightning. Squawking in surprise, the monster attempted to do its iconic flip attack. But the tables turned when the psychopathic chicken felt a grip on its tail.
In a manner not unlike the Hulk, Xenthas flung the lightweight monster like a rag doll, smashing it into the ground four times, stopping to check his handiwork, and then twice for good measure.
The once bold Wyvern was now humbled, it's red eyes rolling around in their sockets as little Yian Kut-Kus' flew around its head. Having learned it's lesson, the Yian Garuga got up and went back to its respective position.
The humanoid monster took a breath to calm himself and looked at the Remnant Crew, who looked on in either amazement: Team RWBY, JNPR, Coco, Penny, Summer, Neo, and Qrow, or fear: Ozpin, Glynda, Ironwood, Winter, Adam, Ilia, Cinder, Emerald and Roman. Mostly Roman.
"Erm...Sorry you all had to see that." Xenthas said sheepishly, pushing up his glasses.
"Yeah, try not to break the monsters before I even give them to them." Katana said, before remembering something. "Oh, wait a minute." She said, before a miniature Raging Brachydios appeared, along with someone that shocked the whole group: Hazel Rainart, in his volume 5 appearance.
"Hazel?!" Cinder and the Ozluminati all declared at once, the latter preparing to attack.
Hazel looked up and saw Ozpin, no longer in Oscar's body, but the last incarnation of the man himself standing before him. "OZPIN!" Hazel roared, getting up and preparing to attack.
But before anyone could strike, Katana stepped in between them, keeping them separated. "Wait, he's cool now. In fact, at this point, he deserves to be here a bit more than Ironwood." Katana explained, glaring at the general, who looked down in admittance, having heard of his future self's plans to nuke Mantle. "He has saved Yang, Jaune, Ren and Emerald's lives and probably sacrificed himself to Salem." She explained.
"But, wait, isn't that him from Volume 5?" Tekko asked.
"He has the memories of Volume 8, but I put him in his Volume 5 body, I like that look better." Katana said.
"Agreed." Xenthas said as he stepped forward. "I'm sure Katana here told you this already, but my name is Xenthas, professional monster wrangler and one of the more recent members of Katana's little group." He bowed before them respectfully.
"Y-you're not gonna harm us, right?" Ruby pipped up from her spot on the couch.
"Of course not." Xenthas approached the crimsonette and ruffled her hair. "Though, under different circumstances." He shot a glare at Adam, who gulped. "I would put the hurt on a few of you." He growled, his voice deepening as a thunderstorm flashed behind him.
"ANYWAY." Xenthas lightened back up. "This meeting won't be last you see of me, as I will pop in to give watch the movies and videos from time to time." Xenthas explained.
A ringtone of "Guren no Yumiya" was heard as the humanoid Zinogre fished out his phone, and sighed upon seeing the initials "Kuroko" on the caller I.D.
"I gotta take this. Nice meeting you all, by the way." In a flash of lightning, Xenthas was gone.
"Well... That was fast. I expected him to stick around longer." Jaune admitted.
"So, what exactly is going on here? Why is Cinder with you all? And what are these creatures?" Hazel asked.
"I'll explain everything. Brace yourself, big guy, because that pain semblance of yours is about to work overtime." Katana warned before putting the monster videos and MCU movies up to the Avengers into his head. He roared and held his head and dropped to his hands and knees as all the memories flooded into him at once. "Sorry to do this to you, but you did kind of deserve it for the years you did work with Salem and all those Huntsmen and Huntresses you and Tyrian killed." She told him. He finally seemed to be recovering and got to one knee. "And this one's for the little girl who you left without a mother." She said, flooding the rest of the movies up to Civil War into his head.
"So... Those movies were meant to inspire the children to be better, build better weapons and learn new fighting styles and teach lessons to Cinder and the adults." Hazel stated.
"Exactly." Katana confirmed.
"Then, these monster videos are to teach everyone about monsters you're just going to drop on Remnant?" Hazel asked.
"Admittedly, when you say it like that, it sounds bad, but people will also be able to tame these monsters and the wild ones will probably kill WAY more Grimm than humans or Faunus." Katana explained.
"Anything that can stop Salem." Hazel agreed.
"Awesome! Then you get this guy, the Raging Brachydios. Everyone else, you know who you got." Katana said, letting the others get to their monsters.
"Oh-ho-ho, yeah! This is what I'm talking about!" Roman said, giddily stepping up to the Yian Garuga. "Hey, there. Wow, aren't you a pretty birdie?" He asked, reaching out to the Bird Wyvern. "A pretty birdie who's gonna be my new partner in crime- metaphorically!" He said, turning back to Ironwood. The Garuga tried to bite his hand, but he quickly pulled it back. "Hey! No! No biting!" He said, before creating a plate with a mountain of bacon on top of it. "You wanna treat?" He asked, the Yian relative now giving him its undivided attention. "Then you're gonna have to behave. Now, come closer." He instructed, the creature stepping forward. Roman then placed a hand upon its beak and began rubbing, before moving to the side of the creature's head and scratching it, moving up and scratching behind its ear, which it clearly liked, as it began raising and trying to itch with one foot like a dog. "That's a good girl! Here you go!" He said, offering her the plate of bacon, which she happily dug into. "There you go, that's my Gloria." Roman said, running his hand down her back, carefully avoiding the spikes.
"Gloria?" Neo asked. [1]
"What? It's an awesome name. It comes from the Gloriosa genus of flowers, as they are also known as 'fire lilies,' 'flame lilies'; every part of the plant in this genus of flower is also poisonous; a perfect complement of fire and poison for a poisonous, crafty bird wyvern that breathes fire." He said knowledgeably, Gloria cawing in delight, approving of the name.
Chameleos seemed to take an instant interest in Ilia walking right up to her and lowering its head, tilted so that its eye on that side of the head was looking right at her. "H-hey, there, girl. That's right, I'm just like you." Ilia said, her freckles turning pink. Chameleos reared on its hindlegs in excitement at this, before pressing the top of its head into Ilia's torso [2], quickly lifting its head back up normally and now holding Ilia on its head.
Blake giggled at this. "I think she likes you Ilia. So, what will you name her?" She asked.
"I think I like Spectre. You know, like a ghost? Because she can disappear and reappear out of thin air." Ilia explained.
The Duramboros charged at Adam, but he simply side-stepped it. "You're powerful, but you're also predictable. And skilled opponent would be able to get through your offense. And no matter how strong your hide is, someone will always be able to get through it. But with me here, I'll stop them from getting past your offenses. We'll make each other stronger. And we'll do right by each other and by the Faunus, Alexandrus." He declared, walking up the Brute Wyvern, holding out a bowl of large mushrooms. The Duramboros tilted its head in curiosity for a moment, but then happily ate the mushrooms.
"Alexandrus?" Winter, of all people, asked.
"Yes. It means 'Defender of Mankind', but I'm changing it to 'Defender of Faunuskind.'" He explained.
"That is a worthy name. Very noble." Ironwood agreed.
Hazel and his Brachy began sparring, throwing powerful punches that, even with the addition of the slime mold and Hazel's Dust he injected into himself, neither was getting anywhere. It eventually turned into an Ora Ora vs. Muda Muda match, before finally, both of them managed to deliver a haymaker to the other's face, knocking each other down. After a few moments, they both got up. "Not bad at all. We've both got an opportunity here to be better than we were before. Let's work together to make the most of it, Chance." He told the creature.
"Chance?" Ozpin asked.
"Yes. I've been given a second chance and now I'm giving you all a second chance. And he'll be the second chance for countless kids out there. Together, we'll do what we can to help make sure there are no more Gretchens." Hazel explained.
Ozpin smiled at this. "This may come across wrong, but I'm proud of you, Hazel. It takes a man better than I am to let go of his anger, admit he is wrong and strive to better himself." Ozpin told him.
The Alatreon simply observed the group from a distance, before turning away, not wanting to engage, before she felt a hand on her right shoulder. "Hey, there~ How's the pretty girl doing? Don't you want to join the fun." Summer asked sweetly. Alatreon simply growled, before trying to continue, but Summer blocked her path. "Oh, come on now! Don't be like that. Look what I made, just for you!" She said, pulling out a tray of cookies.
"Mom! When did you make those?!" Ruby asked in shock.
"And why didn't we get any?" Yang asked grumpily. However, in a flash, Summer appeared to have moved from in front of the beast, but was now back, holding the tray in front of it, while another tray was sat across Ruby and Yang's lap. "Told you. Supermom." Yang told Blake.
Alatreon sniffed the cookies and appeared to like the scent, opening her mouth to take the cookie, but then pulled back and hesitated. "It's alright. They aren't going to hurt you. I made them with love." Summer assured. With that, the Alatreon made up its mind and ate a few cookies, appearing to let out some kind of purring-like noise, or at the very least, a noise of enjoyment. One the cookies were gone, the beast stepped forward and pressed its head against Summer's. "Oh, yes. That's a good girl, Amaryllis." She said, gently stroking the creature's face.
"Hey, what about 'the scales turn hunters into ribbons'?" Qrow asked Katana.
"Well, obviously I changed that. They're still almost indestructible, but nobody's cutting themselves by just touching it. Those horns, though, can still very much slice someone in half." Katana said.
"Fine by me." Qrow accepted.
"Amaryllis?" Ruby asked.
"Of course, dear. It's another flower and its name means. 'to sparkle,' with the flower's symbolism standing for determination, strength, beauty and love. I wanted a name that could exemplify Alatreon, while also keeping with a flower motif and with how it shines, sparks and commands utter strength with all five elements." Summer explained.
"Aww, how sweet." Tekko said.
"Yeah. Very nice." Razara agreed.
"Okay then, crew! Why don't you all take about an hour to bond with your pets, new and old, then we'll meet back up for the next trio of monsters." Katana suggested, everyone agreeing and splitting off.
But in the back of some of their minds, they were excited after they analyzed just what Katana said. "Another trio? Well now, that's bound to be interesting." Cinder said.
"The best kind of trouble always comes in three's." Emerald declared putting a hand on both Cinder and Neo's shoulders.
A/N: Thank you for reading! I hope you all enjoyed! I know I said I wasn't adding anymore character, but yet here Hazel is. I wasn't planning on adding him, but then Volume 8 gave him a big hero moment, so I just couldn't let that go. And many of you weren't as well, so there we have it. But Hazel WILL ABSOLUTELY be the last person brought in. And so, here are the names and genders of the final monsters
Yian Garuga - Gloria (Female)
Chameleos - Spectre (Female)
Duramboros - Alexandrus (Male)
Raging Brachydios - Chance (Male)
Alatreon - Amaryllis (Female)
[1] Thanks to Wish Upon a Sol for the names, except Brachydios.
[2] I've written about too many of Rage's videos, any time I try to write Ilia, my mind wants to write Aylia... -.-'
