Aylia then ran as Fatalis charged after her, snapping its jaws at her. "And so, Fatalis remained. Remained at the site of this slaughter... Until many, many, MANY years later, he was discovered again. And foolishly, a band of confident hunters took up arms against him. And this is where fate diverges: a group of hunters successfully managed to repel the Fatalis, forcing it to flee the kingdom in what would be one of the most venerated and revered victories ever since the return of the hunting ways and humanity's second rise. This Fatalis, forced away, would settle later in a volcano." Rage explained as Aylia stopped and did some kind of dramatic pose, which annoyed the Fatalis, who decided to obliterate her with a fireball.
Everyone was shocked when they saw Aylia simply stand there as the beast readied a fireball. "Why are you standing there!? Run!" Blake cried out.
"Rest in peace." Nora said, lowering her head.
"Nora!" Ren scolded.
"I mean, she's not wrong. Who do you expect to walk away from a fireball that's probably as hot as the sun." Summer said.
Suddenly, the huntress was seen again in the aforementioned volcano (for which the group breathed a sigh of relief)."There, his hatred and anger, which- let's be honest- was already, uh... a little bit high to begin with, kinda... broke." Rage said nervously as Aylia looked down over the ledge into a fiery cloud of death.
Suddenly, Vegeta was shown again, looking absolutely furious, to the point he apparently broke a blood vessel, staining his right eye red. "No..." He said furiously as he glared at whatever made him so enraged.
Tekko shuddered at seeing that clip of her father's eyes in such a state. "I hate that clip!" She whined.
Everyone felt a chill run down their spine at this. "How does rage... break exactly?" Penny asked with apprehension clear in her voice.
"When someone enters a berserk fury where they can't be reasoned with in any way, shape or form. It's rare, but when it does happen, it's one of the most dangerous states a person could be in." Hazel said, shuddering as he recalled the handful of times he entered such a state.
"But these states of rage can also be used against someone, as they're so focused on their object of rage, they can't focus on anything else." Winter added, remembering how Qrow had tricked her into embarrassing herself in front of the general.
"Maybe, but what happens if that object of rage is EVERYTHING?" Cinder asked, everyone stopping in concern to register that.
Aylia then leapt off the ledge into the smoke, dropping down into a patch of land below, where a dark red Fatalis waited. "And he would become the Crimson Fatalis, the burning anger quite literally manifesting itself, turning up the already unmatched heat to another level, his seething rage so great, his scales literally turned red to match. He spends his time brooding, planning and plotting... vowing one day he will have a second vengeance against those that would have the audacity to bear arms against him." Rage declared menacingly as the creature flew around this chosen arena, almost crashing into Aylia, before flying off to a far ledge and glaring at her with pure hatred in its eyes.
They had once again made the foolish mistake that they couldn't be more afraid of the monster before her. And once again, they were wrong. "I-is that even possible?! That he gets so mad his scales permanently change color?" Ruby asked.
"Well, we do turn red as we get angry from our body temperature rising, so I suppose it is possible. And certain levels of stress do cause symptoms such as hair greying early." Ozpin pointed out.
"But shouldn't that level of anger make his blood pressure super high? So this Fatalis should have a heart attack any minute now... Hopefully." Neo said, hugging Yang's arm.
"Even with the Dragon War, even being repelled by mere humans when it is like a god... How can that level of anger and hatred even be possible? And to hold onto it for so long seems even less possible." Velvet asked, horrified.
"Vel, I think we can all agree that this thing IS the impossible." Coco told her.
Aylia then struck the beast's lower body and rolled away from a tail whip. "With all the trappings of a normal Fatalis: increased speed, strength and the general boost that come from a subspecies, he also gains the ability to summon meteors... Now, these are from space. How he calls them down... I have- I don't- look, I don't know- what do you want from me here, okay?! It's a bit out there for my sensible understandings, but it is pretty damn badass, I'm not gonna lie. And from what is basically monster God, I'll accept it. What else can you do at that point, really?" Rage asked as the creature roared to the sky and, indeed, fiery meteors began to rain down from the sky, which Aylia desperately had to avoid.
"Oh, come on! That is just not fair!" Jaune complained.
"That can't be possible. How would it even know there are meteors in space it could pull down? Penny, is there some way that could work." Pyrrha questioned.
"I'm sorry, Pyrrha, but I refuse to think about such an implausible ability. I'm almost certain it would fry my circuit breaker." Penny told her adamantly, arms crossed and eyes closed.
"At least Dalamadur shot the fireballs into the air that rained down like meteors. This one just seems like it can't happen. It's making my head hurt just thinking about it or how to defend against something like that." Ironwood said.
"To save EVERYONE's brains here, let's just stick with the answer that it's monster God." Emerald suggested, to which everyone agreed.
Aylia dove through Crimson Fatalis' spiral of flame and slashed the beast across the face. "So, that is the Crimson Fatalis, then. All that's left is the final form of Fatalis and the most almighty by far..." Rage spoke ominously as the huntress barely avoided by snapped up in the jaws of the crimson fury.
Katana sighed at this. "Brace yourself, everyone. If there was ever a monster that rightfully deserves to be called a god... it's this one." She warned them, filling them all with a sense of dread.
This sent a sense of dread over the audience. "With everything we've already seen, how much more powerful does this one have to be to warrant such a response?" Winter questioned in fear.
"Honestly, I'm not sure I want to know." Summer said.
"Still, it's better to know and understand the threat. And it will let us better appreciate what these hunters go through." Glynda told them.
The ruins of an ancient tower were shown as a pure white Fatalis with a long line of hair down its back from head to toe was shown flying in and landing. "It is the White Fatalis. Reaching this state by simply age, this timeless creature, then has lived forever so long. Said to be THE ONE attacked Schrade, having survived and repelled all that have come to put him down. He now has traded in the inferno for Dragon-powered lightning, causing great thunderbolts to strike, lines of pure red destruction." Rage introduced the final form of the beast as its chest and eyes began to glow red, with crimson lightning sparking around its chest, before the beast let out a mighty roar and caused red lightning to strike all around itself.
They were all shocked by this new version of the beast. But while they were still unnerved by it, they weren't so much terrified of it as they were impressed and mystified. Especially the adults. "Whoa. That thing really is ancient. Must've taken forever to grown that line of hair down its back. And that second set of horns." Roman noted.
"Yet, you can tell it's still just as powerful as the other two, if not more so. Age isn't slowing it down at all." Adam pointed out as well.
The teens, though, were still plenty unnerved. "I really, REALLY don't like that look in its eyes. It's like it's trying to stare at me so hard, I die... and it feels like it's working." Ilia said, turning blue and backing away as if trying to dissolve into the couch.
"It looks so much more evil than the others somehow." Blake said nervously.
"Maybe because it's tongue isn't sticking out." Nora pointed out.
And is that red lightning arcing across its chest. Quite the contrast to its otherwise pure white body. And mixing two elements together... That must require mastery on an entirely different level." Ren said in awe.
"I think you mean HACKS." Jaune said, both amazed at such an ability and a bit flabbergasted, because that's just overkill, two elements in one! Come on!
Aylia attempted to sneak up on the ancient beast, but it quickly spotted her and let out a roar, taking to the skies and creating a pair of tornadoes with the flaps of its wings, with lightning striking down as well. "Equipped with all the physical traits, but so greatly enhanced of that of a regular Fatalis, even placing hand upon its hide will shred you to ribbons. Going through a much more stark physical transformation than its lesser forms: the one giant horn on the Crimson, which was a result of a hunter breaking the previous one and it growing back oversized, but White Fatalis' then, are more antler-like majestic crest, his face much less reptilian, the soft, glowing fur of age lining his chin and back, giving him an almost ethereal light about him." Rage told of the drastic changes between this Fatalis from the others as its face was clearly more menacing than the ones before, yet almost regal thanks to its glowing beard.
"Gotta say, I like it's beard." Neo admitted, the rest of the crew nodding in agreement.
"Agreed. I would've liked a beard like that, but a glimpse into our future ruined that look for me." Ironwood said.
"I think the beard makes it look like a wise, sagely elder. And by 'elder' I mean 'old man', not 'Elder Dragon'." Weiss thought out loud.
"Hm... I'd say it's more like an old, badass war veteran." Yang gave her interpretation of the beard.
From above, the White Fatalis fired huge balls of dragon lightning down at Aylia, who barely dodged them. "When angered, lightning froths at his maw, his eyes gain a shade of red streaks, as does his crimson body light up in defiance. He is more deadly than any monster has any right to be. But, he has one signature attack. Combining then, his Dragon Element with the largest and most potent Thunder organ of all monsters, he will fly high into the air and rain down the apocalypse." Rage said as the beast flapped its wings to create more tornadoes, then flew towards a massive, swirling vortex high in the sky, far in the distance, before Aylia ran desperately as red sparks lit up the ground around her, before giant bolts of lightning struck down as epic, intense music played in the background.
Everyone's jaw hit the floor as they saw the display before them. The epic music. The lightning storm. The tornadoes. All of these together made of one of the most incredibly, if still terrifying and intimidating, displays of power they'd ever seen. "That... Was... AWESOME!" Yang and Nora shouted at the same time.
"That was the coolest thing ever! The tornadoes flying everywhere like WHOOSH! And then the lightning coming down like BZZZZZT! CRASH! BOOM! And Aylia running around like 'I'm gonna die! There's lightning and tornadoes everywhere!" Ruby gave the play-by-play.
"Not to mention that music. That, plus the slow-motion gave it a much grander scale." Qrow admitted.
"How is anyone supposed to survive that!?" Jaune asked.
"I'm assuming Fatalis doesn't WANT them to survive." Ren told him.
And to hear about exactly how the creature made the lightning was even crazier. "Combining two elements in such a way... This creature really does seem like it's on a level above any other." Hazel said in disbelief.
"It has more power than all of the maidens put together. Maybe even Salem." Cinder said, completely stunned by what she was seeing.
The dragon then flew down towards Aylia at high speeds, stopping itself in mid-air with such force it sent the huntress flying back. "White Fatalis also has the ability to cause an eclipse that swirls like a wormhole high above anywhere he roams. How he does this, or even why, is simply an enigma. All that is sure is that an unnatural force follows in the wake of this otherworldly beast." Rage said ominously as the moon moved in front of the sun, before a wormhole-like vortex in the sky appeared as White Fatalis flew down. "White Fatalis then, is said to have the power to call in lesser Fatalis to fight for it in battle, which should tell you the status that a White Fatalis does command. And thus then, we have Fatalis, he who is first amongst all monsters." Rage finished as Aylia desperately evaded one last sweeping blast of Dragon-Lightning from the beast's mouth.
Their jaws soon returned to the floor when they heard about the vortex. "You mean... It creates the vortex in the sky!?" Pyrrha said in amazement.
"That's a singularity event! For a creature like this to be able to generate such levels of power is inconceivable." Penny cried out in complete disbelief.
"It really must be the god of monsters." Weiss said, clinging tightly to her sister.
"I wish I could say I didn't believe it or that it didn't happen, but we've literally seen it right before our eyes." Glynda lamented.
"Your universe truly is full of mystery and wonder. For such a creature to exist and be roughly on the same level as the gods of our world is something I never could have anticipated." Ozpin said.
"And the fact it can call in other Fatalis to help it is the absolute last thing anyone needs." Neo said.
"But that vortex... singularity... thing- it isn't like a wormhole or something like that which could allow Fatalis to show up in a different world, right? Like White Fatalis couldn't make a portal like that and wind up on Remnant, right?" Coco asked, everyone becoming worried at that prospect.
"No one knows." All three hostesses declared ominously.
"But now... Well, I think you all know what comes next." Katana said.
"That creature must NEVER be allowed on Remnant. It would cause more damage than Salem or the Grimm could hope to achieve." Ozpin said.
"Exactly. If only the absolute best huntsman can take on Fatalis and even they almost never return, we would lose some of humanity's most reliable, capable and stalwart defenders. And even if they did return, they'd be mentally damaged and useless for field work. We couldn't handle such levels of loss." Glynda added.
"Especially if one decides to try and test if they really can raze the world in a day or so." Ironwood also pointed out.
"And then, even if someone does manage to take it out, we'd have to make sure no one tried to make armor out of it, or else we'd lose a great hunter and have ANOTHER Fatalis." Winter threw in as well.
"I still just can't believe that a creature could have that much rage inside it. Yes, the Ancient Civilization was evil and did terrible things, but your newer civilization seems a lot better. You can't blame someone now for what the people hundreds of years before their time." Blake added.
"With that in mind, it makes me wonder... What would they think of Remnant?" Adam asked.
"On one hand, we currently don't have any Wyverns on Remnant that are being mistreated or used for ill-gotten gain, so Fatalis wouldn't feel like we've abused his kin..." Pyrrha pointed out.
"But on the other hand, there are still the Faunus. With our animal traits, it may view us in a similar light, so it could still think we should be wiped out." Ilia countered.
"You both seem to forget Fatalis hates ALL life, not JUST humans, even if it has a particular grudge against us." Hazel reminded everyone.
"So, yep. We'd be dead." Coco said.
"Yeah, but we wouldn't go down without a fight. And we'd go out in the blaze of glory!" Yang declared.
"Or maybe, if it really is as smart as a human, we could maybe try talking to it? Convince it we aren't so bad?" Velvet suggested hopefully.
"Velvet, you are too pure for this world." Neo told her.
"Just because it's as smart as a human doesn't mean it has all the same feelings as us. Salem is a genius, but she's as cold and unfeeling as they come." Summer reminded everyone.
Ruby had her hair over her eyes. "All three Fatalis are super scary. That huge fire breath that the normal one did and hurt Sai's friend was huge and hot and scary, then how angry Crimson Fatalis is just seems like it shouldn't happen, which makes it that much more disturbing... And if White Fatalis really is the one who destroyed Schrade and did everything Rage said it did, then it's literally written into history on how scary it is." She began, trembling a bit, before she suddenly lifted her head and looked super excited. "They're all so cool, though! Regular old Fatalis' fire is super awesome! It was like it was shooting out an ocean of fire from its mouth! And the Crimson Fatalis pulling meteors out of space is the coolest thing ever! And White Fatalis was like the ultimate final boss, opening a wormhole and changing the entire area you fight it in!" The Rose girl completely fangirled over the ultimate monster trio.
Cinder couldn't help but chuckle. "Only you would find a positive way to look at this, Ruby." She said mirthfully, placing her head on top of Ruby's.
"Man you guys are SO lucky! You get to battle all these amazing, clever and majestic creatures. Each with different powers, abilities and battle tactics!" Ruby complained with a pout.
"Yeah!" Nora agreed, suddenly looking mopey. "Meanwhile, all we got to fight on Remnant is boring, dumb and predictable Grimm, that all look exactly the same." She whined.
With those points in mind, Yang thought about it for a moment. "Huh? When you put it like that, hunting Grimm does feel hollow in comparison." She admitted.
"Also easier. As Grimm all have the same weakness to Dust. But I've deduced that a lot of the monsters we've learned about would brush off most of our weapons and would require a more different approach to subduing or slaying." Penny analyzed what they've learned from the various monsters so far.
"So, what's next. There's still more monsters, right? Like, just because we saw the strongest of all of them, that doesn't mean we're done, yeah?" Emerald asked.
"Oh, yeah. Don't worry, there's still quite a few monsters you guys haven't seen yet." Katana assured them.
"Yes!" All the students cheered.
"But for now, you guys have probably taken all the stress and anxiety and chaos you can take for one day, so why don't you all just take the rest of the day off, chill with each other and your monsters, then tomorrow we'll pick up fresh and restored, back to normal." Katana said, then glared at her two daughters. "Besides, I have to go deal with those armor sets my daughters decided to hide from me." The ice demon said, glaring at her two daughters, getting up to take care of the situation, dragging the two girls along with her.
Everyone gulped nervously at this, before shaking it off. "Well, we should probably do what she said. It's not like we can really do anything without the magical hosts that control the TV, anyway." Weiss said, to which everyone nodded in agreement.
As they got up and began to disperse, Ironwood couldn't help but sigh. "I'm almost starting to think these monsters just shouldn't exist. I mean, surely Fatalis had to evolve to be the way it is in order to combat something or gain some kind of advantage of some kind of enemy. But what would it be contending with that makes it have to turn into any of those three nightmares. And what if there's something even worse out there? There's just too many possibilities to account for, what other horrors are out there besides what we've already seen?" He asked.
Ozpin placed a hand on his shoulder. "Your concerns are warranted, James, but once again, you're thinking too extremely about a situation that may not be nearly as dire as you believe it to be." He told him.
Summer smiled and nodded at this. "Ozpin's right. Sure, there are plenty of monsters out there that could cause a lot of damage, but there's plenty of others that could do great things for humanity, too." She added.
"Yeah. I mean look at the kids. They're playing with those monsters like they would a cat or a dog and everything's fine." Qrow said, pointing at the students, with Ruby trying to get Crimzon to jump and grab a roast chicken, Neo and Kin teasing Blake and Ciara with Kin's golden thread like cats with string, Nora and Sigrun sliding across Sakurai's bubble secretion like a slip and slide, then finally, Cinder and Penny peacefully taking a nap, tenderly leaned against Luna and Comet respectively, the Elder Dragons returned to their full size and tenderly nuzzling their companions.
"At the end of the day, they're all still animals, still a part of nature. And learning about them is learning more about the beauty of this, or any other world." Glynda said sagely with a smile, before the adults turned and went off with their own monsters, eager to spend more time with the fantastic new creatures they'd been blessed with.
A/N: Finally! It's done! That took a while, but I hope you all enjoyed it. But don't be confused, this is NOT the end of this story. I will continue to do Rage's lore videos about Frontier monsters, plus my brother is still making lore videos as well, not to mention the Kinship Attacks from Stories 2, which we WILL get to sometime in the near future. We still have a good little while before RWBY is done with Monster Hunter.
[1] qazse and I agreed adding the tornadoes to White Fatalis' attacks made it seem more dangerous and make it live up to its legend more.
