5 days later.

When Emily got home, she could barely keep her eyes open. She hadn't slept at all and she was exhausted. She knew that she should try and get some sleep, but she couldn't get her mind off of things. Her thoughts were going at 100 miles per hour.
She put her coat down and set her purse on the table. She took a deep breath and headed for the kitchen, She grabbed a glass out of the cabinet and poured some water into the cup. She took a sip of water and headed for the stairs. She knew that it was late and her daughter was sleeping but she had to see her. She walked into her daughter's room and smiled at the small figure in the bed. She set her glass down on the dresser and walked closer to her daughter's bed. She leaned over and gave he a kiss on the forehead. She wasn't sure why but a small tear escaped from her eye. She stood up straight, wiped her tear, and grabbed her glass of water and headed out the door. She closed the door behind her and headed for her own bedroom.

After a few hours of sleep, Emily woke up to the sound of laughter. She smiled and started to rub her eyes. She knew that she needed to hear that. She started to get out of bed when she heard her phone go off. She leaned over and picked up her phone and noticed that it was a text from JJ. She put her phone down and made a mental note to text JJ back. She got up and headed down the stairs.

"Good Morning Mommy." Natalia said when she saw her mother coming down the stairs

"Good Morning baby." She said as her daughter jumped into her arms

"I missed you mommy."

"I missed you too baby. Did you have fun with Marissa?"

"Yahhh but i wish you were here with us."

"I know baby. But i had to work but Mommy has something to tell you." She said as she put her daughter down.

"You do? Really? What is it?"

"Well you know how you were.." she started to say when there was a knock on the door. She looked at her watch, She was confused. She wasn't expecting anyone.

"Hang on baby." She said as she walked towards the door

She looked through the peephole and sighed. She opened the door, and just stared at the person on the other side of the door

"What are you doing here?"

"Emily we need to talk."

"About what Aaron?"

"Can i come in? We need to talk?"

"Hold on." She said as she closed the door back in his face and walked back to her daughter.

"Baby I'm sorry. I'll tell you when I get back. I just have to do something."

"Ugh fine. I guess I'll just have to wait." Natalia said as she crossed her arms and sat on the couch

"Im so sorry Marissa, something just came up that I have to take care of. I'll be back i promise."

"No problem Em. Natalia and I were about to eat some breakfast."

"Thank you.. okay bye Natalia, I love you and I'll be back." She said as she kissed her daughter's forehead and walked towards the door. She grabbed her jacket and headed back towards the door.

As she put on her coat, she grabbed her keys, and opened the door back up. She gave him one more look before she shut the door behind her, and started to walk. As she started to walk, she looked behind her and noticed that he was still standing there

"Are you coming or not? " She asked as she continued walking.

He followed her until they reached a park across the street from her apartment. She stopped and turned towards him.

"Can you tell me what you are doing here? "

"We need to talk Emily."

"Why? The last time we talked, you made yourself pretty clear.

"Ive had some time to think, Ive thought a lot about this baby. I know what I want Em. I can see it now."

"Do you think that is going to change the way that I feel?"

"What?"

"Do you really expect me to change my mind, and smile and everything would be okay? You literally said 5 days ago that you didn't want to be apart of this baby's life. "

"Emily.. I dont.."

"What is it with men that think that women will change their minds when they hear men say what they want to hear. This is not that case. You chose to walk away that night the way that you did. You can't just expect me to believe you when you said that 5 days ago. "

"Emily, this isn't conventional. I know that this baby is going to complicate our work lives but its all worth it. This baby is worth it. I was an idiot before. I knew that I've always wanted to give Jack a sibling, I just didn't know if that would ever happen. i let the best of me cloud my judgement and for that I'm sorry, I know that those words did not make you feel very good but I've thought this through. The fog is gone and i see things clearly now. I want this Em."

"Im not going to just take your word for it. Prove it Aaron. Prove that you want this child. Prove that you want to be apart of his / her life. that is all that matters to me. I have one child wondering about her father and don't need another one asking the same question." She said as she turned around and started to walk back towards her apartment.

She stopped for a moment, and turned around to look at him.

"You know what isn't fair?"

"No but i bet you're going to tell me anyway."

"5 days ago, you literally told me that you thought this baby was going to ruin your career. Never once did you think what this change could do to me. My body is going to change. My mood is going to change. My whole life and Natalia's life is going to change and here you are, worried about yourself. Not once did you ever consider how this was going to change me. That isn't fair. Meanwhile, before i even told you that I was pregnant, I had already thought about how this was going to change your life and Jack's life. So please, if you don't want to be apart of this baby's life please tell me know, it will save me some of the hurt later. "

"Emily how many times do i have to tell you that I want to be here for you. That I want to be apart of this baby's life. How do you want me to prove that to you?"

"Just by being there Aaron. I have a doctor's appointment next week and you can prove it to me by coming to that. It's not about me anymore. I have to take care of myself and this situation isn't helping. Either you want to or don't. It's an easy decision. "

With that she walked away. She knew that she had another thing to do today. She was going to tell her daughter and she hoped for the best.

When she got into the elevator, she tried so hard not to cry. She was confused, hurt, frustrated. She just wanted things to be easy and things being easy was never easy.

When she got back into her apartment, she placed her keys down and sat on the couch next to Natalia.

"Okay missy. Where was I."

"You said that you had something to tell me."

"Aww yes. i do. do you remember what i had asked you what you wanted for your birthday a few months ago?"

"mmm yeah. I think so."

"And what was that?"

"I asked for a baby sister or brother."

"You did. Well guess what." she said as she pulled some photos out from her back pocket.

"What mama?"

"Mommy has a baby in her belly"

"Really?" She asked as her eyes became bigger

"Yup. Baby will be here in just a few short months. "

"Thank You mommy! Thank you. Im so excited."

"Good that makes me so happy love." she hugged her daughter and a tear ran down her face.

"Congratulations Em. Im so happy for you." Marissa stated while hugging her.

"Thank You. "

For the first time in weeks, Emily was happy about this pregnancy. She spent the rest of the day with her daughter and Marissa. They had fun and she was happy just to spend more time with Natalia because one day, she'll get older and not want to spend as much time with her mother.

Emily placed a hand on her stomach and smiled.
