Warring alongside the Sea

Chapter 1: The Lady of War

A woman with long red hair, as straight as a blade, with pure white eyes of the damned, of those died in war, and a sinister smile on her face. Her body is lean and strong, with muscular biceps. She wears a black and red two-piece bathing suit, accented by a titanium see-through sash in front of it. She also keeps a dagger strapped to her leg and a Stygian iron sword around her waist.

This woman was walking on the beach when she saw another woman playing with her child, and with one glance, her eyes widened. The woman who was being observed saw the other one and walked over to her, pointing at the empty seat. Knowing what was being conveyed, the two sat down to have a chat.

Hello, my name is Sally Ann Jackson, a clear-sighted mortal. Sally said, " May I have the pleasure of knowing your name, my lady?"

The woman replied, " Enyo, Goddess of War and Peacekeeping. It's nice to meet you."

Enyo continued, "I take it he's a demigod?"

Sally confirmed Enyo asked, " Why not take him to camp?"

Sally said, "He is my son; I want to be around for most of his childhood. I know that's a bit selfish, but…"

Enyo said, "You are a mortal mother; you are allowed to be a bit selfish when it comes to your child."

I take it you found a way to cover his demi-god scent," Enyo said, plainly. "Otherwise, given who his father is, monsters would already be on him like flies on honey."

Sally answered without going into detail, although she suspected that Enyo already knew. Enyo said, "I can give you a compromise; I don't like the idea of a demigod being unprepared for the Greek world, so I will take him three days a week and teach him everything he needs to know. As for time, we can sort that out later. May I know his name?" Sally nodded. "His name is Perseus Jackson, son of Poseidon." Seven years later.

The last few years have been interesting for Perseus, or Percy, as he prefers. Enyo not only taught him everything about the Greek world, she also became his patron goddess and made him her champion. Enyo has blessed him with many gifts; weapons, wisdom, and powers. The abilities gained are all battle-oriented; one being the ability to instinctively use any weapon in his hand, though not to a mastered degree, but he's at least proficient with the weapons. Two, the ability to summon any weapon he owns. Lastly, because Enyo is a goddess of war and peacekeeping, Percy can affect a person's state of mind, ranging from calm and peaceful to raging and bloodthirsty. Percy was sitting next to a boy named Grover Underwood. He was a scrawny kid, with acne and the start of a wispy beard. He also walked with a crutches. Grover was often picked on by bullies like Nancy Bobofit, a red-haired kleptomaniac girl. Currently, Nancy was throwing chunks of peanut butter and ketchup sandwiches at Grover. Percy and Grover were on a bus heading to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a school field trip with their Latin teacher, Mr. Brunner. Now Mr. Brunner was a middle-aged man in a motorized wheelchair. He had thinning hair and a scruffy beard, and he wore a frayed tweed jacket that smelled of coffee.

Inside the museum, everyone was looking at Greek funeral art and other stuff. Percy looked out of the corner of his eye and saw her - Mrs. Dodds, giving him the thousand-yard stare. Mrs. Dodds was the teacher who replaced the old one after she had a mental breakdown from an unknown causes. She always wore a black leather jacket, even though she was in her fifties. Everyone was annoyingly talking to each other, while Mr. Brunner was trying to talk, finally Percy couldn't take it anymore and said, "I'm trying to listen to Mr. Brunner!"

It came out louder than he had intended, Mr. Brunner said. "Thank you, Percy," he said. "Since you're trying to pay attention, could you tell me what this picture represents?"

Percy took one look at it and said, "Kronos eating his children."

Mr. Brunner gave a signal to continue. Percy continued, "Kronos was given a prophecy about one of his children would betray him. Sadly, the poor bastard never heard of self-fulfilling prophecies, so he ate his children. Giving them a reason to betray him. His wife had the last child, who was Zeus. After growing up, training, and receiving his weapon, Zeus gave his father a cocktail of mustard and wine, forcing him to vomit his siblings. Then, they went on a hundred-year war with the Titans, ending with the gods being victorious."

Nancy muttered, " How any of this is any useful to us not like in the job application will please right down why Kronos ate his kids."

Mr. Brunner said, " Why indeed, Percy can you tell me?"

Percy answered, " It's because in everyone of those stories their a lesson to be learnt. For example here in the story of Kronos we learn the dangers of lusting for power, bad parenting and that actions have consequences, among other things."

Mr. Brunner said, " Correct indeed."

Some time had past and everyone was eating their lunch and Percy looked outside and saw the weather off for the time of year Percy thought, " What are you two fighting over?"

The weather was also affecting his mood; when he saw Nancy picking on Grover, he unconsciously lashed out and used his control over water to push her into the fountain they were standing by. Nancy cried out, "Percy pushed me!"

Mrs. Dodds then pulled Percy into a secluded room; Percy thought she was finally going to show her true self.

Percy said, "Alright, Mrs. Dodds. If that's your real name, then you want to play it like that. Storm Shredder(καταστροφέας καταιγίδας). "

For those who want the Greek.

Percy had summoned a scythe made from Stygian iron and looked around; then he saw her standing right in front of the only exit. Mrs. Dodds charged at him, and Percy blocked using the staff of his scythe. Then he proceeded to kick her back a bit before using the blade of the scythe to decapitate Mrs. Dodds. Mrs. Dodds had turned into yellow dust, leaving only a claw as the spoils of the battle.
