Later on that night, Chloe found herself in Rachel's bedroom, rehearsing the plan once again. The room was adorned with posters of bands she and Rachel loved, creating a musical sanctuary where they could escape reality. They had spent the entire afternoon brainstorming ways to sneak into Victoria's room to steal her mobile device for their ultimate prank, their minds filled with excitement just thinking about it.

Their initial attempt to catch Victoria after school had failed, as she was nowhere to be seen. And now, as night enveloped the surroundings, Victoria remained hidden within the sanctuary of her room, seemingly unwilling to emerge for her customary evening shower. Their carefully orchestrated mission was at stake.

Impatience slowly settled within Chloe's heart as they waited. Twenty minutes felt like an eternity, and she found herself on the verge of giving up. But Rachel pleaded and begged her to stay, incapable of accepting defeat. Her deep hazel eyes met Chloe's, filled with determination and also a hint of desperation. She couldn't possibly resist Rachel's plea, bound by an unbreakable bond of friendship and shared adventures.

Yet, as time crawled by, Chloe couldn't deny the palpable drain on her spirit. The weight of the waiting seemed to press heavily upon her shoulders.

An idea invaded her mind - a thought that things would have been ten times more exhilarating if Maxine was able to join them. However, the current strain in their relationship, coupled with Maxine's request for a break so Chloe could find herself and her emotions, had created a chasm between them. It was a painful rift that Chloe struggled to comprehend, despite knowing that Maxine's words held an undeniable truth. The longing to reach out to Maxine and convey her deepest feelings tugged at Chloe's heart. If only she could gather the courage to go to Maxine's house and pour her soul out.

But Chloe couldn't ignore the undeniable magnetism that had drawn her towards Rachel. It was a cruel twist of fate, an injustice to her own heart.

In an attempt to untangle her jumbled emotions, Chloe absentmindedly tossed a used-up tennis ball back and forth against the wall. Each rhythmic throw and catch helped release some of the pent-up stress that had accumulated within her. As the sound reverberated in the room, Chloe and Rachel continued to await Victoria's emergence, their patience stretched thin.

"What's taking Pixie Dust so long? We've been waiting forever. She's too perfect to take a shower now?" Chloe grumbled as she tossed the ball against the wall for the hundredth time, her muscles starting to ache.

Rachel glanced at the clock again, her eyes narrowing in frustration. "I don't know. It's like she knows we're out here, waiting for her. She's just toying with us."

"It's like she's taunting us from her fortress of solitude, laughing at our pathetic attempts to invade her privacy. Oh, the humanity!" Chloe quipped sarcastically as she flung the ball against the wall harder. Her anger at Victoria's stubbornness only fueling her frustration.

Words were aburtly put on paused when both Rachel and Chloe instantaneously heard noise in the hallway of the girls' dorm. The sound echoed through the otherwise quiet building, piquing their curiosity.

Sneaking her way towards the door, Rachel's heart raced with excitement as she wondered what could possibly be happening. Rachel slowly opened the door, the old hinges emitted a creaking sound loud enough to be heard, but not enough to grab anyone's total attention. She skillfully adjusted her movements to minimize the noise, her eyes darting back and forth to ensure no one was watching. With every inch the door moved, her anticipation grew.

Peering outside, Rachel's hazel eyes widened in astonishment. There, in the dimly lit hallway, stood her target - Victoria Chase. The very girl who had caused them so much distress with her condescending remarks and superior attitude. Rachel's lips curled into a mischievous grin as she realized this could be their chance to take revenge.

Victoria's slender figure was adorned in a robe, clutching a set of shower supplies in her perfectly manicured hands. Evidently, she was on her way to the dormitory showers. It was now or never; Rachel knew they had to act swiftly before their plan could crumble.

Returning to her own room, Rachel closed the door behind her with utmost caution. The excitement was palpable as she moved with practiced precision. Swiftly, she slipped on her comfortable white robe and reached for her simple black jacket hanging inside her closet throwing it on her bed so she doesn't have to look for it when she returns to finish the next plan to their mission.

Prior to heading out, Rachel glanced at Chloe, her partner in crime. The fiery-haired rebel, known for her unpredictability and unwavering loyalty, was patiently waiting for their final briefing. Taking a deep breath, Rachel reiterated the plan one more time in case Chloe had momentarily forgotten amidst the adrenaline rush.

"You remember the plan, right, Chlo? I'll distract her while you sneak in and grab the phone. Then you make a run for it before anyone see you. Just make a loud noise and I'll know you're done. It has to be quick and silent. Ready?" Rachel asked, whispering urgently.

Chloe nodded, understanding her mission. She knew the time had come to put her carefully honed skills to action. With a sense of purpose, she adjusted her backpack, double-checking each buckle and zipper to ensure everything was in place and wouldn't make a single unwanted sound. As the weight settled on her shoulders, a surge of adrenaline coursed through her veins, causing her fingers to tingle with excitement.

She stood at the Rachel's door ready, waiting patiently for the perfect moment to strike. Outside, the rhythmic sound of Victoria's footsteps grew louder with each passing second. Cold air nipped at Chloe's face, drifting down from the darkened night sky. She watched with intent as Victoria's breath materialized into little clouds, evidence of the chill that pervaded the air. Faintly, she caught snippets of Victoria's mutterings about the incessantly cold water in the dormitory showers.

The moment had finally arrived. With a swift and silent motion, Rachel slipped out of her room and darted across the hallway, positioning herself directly in front of Victoria. Chloe admired her friend's acting skills; Rachel's expression of innocent confusion was spot-on.

Positioning herself strategically, Rachel found herself standing directly in front of Victoria. The air around them seemed to buzz with an electric current, charged with the intensity of what was about to unfold. Chloe, watching from the sidelines, couldn't help but be in awe of her friend's acting skills. Rachel had always been a natural performer, but this was a whole new level.

Usually, so composed and in control, Victoria was caught completely off guard by Rachel's sudden appearance. Her expression of innocent confusion was spot-on, as if Rachel had plucked it straight from the pages of a script. The subtle tremble in her voice added an air of authenticity to her act. Chloe couldn't deny that she had underestimated Rachel. She had always known her friend was talented, but witnessing this display of artistry sent shivers down her spine. It was as if Rachel had tapped into a hidden reserve of strength and creativity, channeling it into this pivotal moment

"Oh, hey Victoria! I was just heading to the showers, too. You know, we're supposed to be quiet and stuff. But you know me, I'm always clumsy." Rachel laughed nervously, gesturing to her robe-clad form.

Victoria raised an eyebrow, her expression unimpressed. "I heard better lies from kindergarteners, Rachel. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got things to do. And if you don't mind, you could use your spare time to work on your social skills. You know, it's not healthy being so fake all the time." Her words stung, but Rachel maintained her composure, forcing a laugh.

Pushing Victoria inside the shower room before she lost her patience and attacked her, Rachel gave Chloe one final glare, communicating with a mere expression that it was now her turn to complete the mission.

Chloe, catching the unmistakable message, nodded in understanding, taking a deep breath to steady herself before darting out of the room and down the dimly lit hallway. The weight of her pounding heart in her chest, its rhythmic beats echoing through her entire being, as she raced toward Victoria's room. With each step she took, the anticipation intensified, fueling an unstoppable surge of adrenaline that coursed through her veins.

In this moment, nothing could deter her from her objective; she felt invincible, driven by a sense of purpose that eclipsed all fears and doubts. Finally reaching the door at the end of the hall, Chloe's focus sharpened further. She knew that on the other side of that portal lay a world of secrets waiting to be unraveled, hidden truths yearning to be exposed.

Standing in front of Victoria's room, she hesitated for just a moment, her hand poised to grasp the doorknob.

Gathering her courage, she turned the handle, allowing the door to creak open slowly. A gust of cool air brushed against her face, heightening her senses as she cautiously stepped into the room. The space was dimly illuminated by moonlight filtering through drawn curtains, casting eerie shadows on the walls.

The atmosphere was heavy with tension, as if the very room held its breath of the imminent clash between secrets and revelations. Chloe moved noiselessly, her footsteps soft against the carpeted floor. The mission demanded stealth and precision, qualities she possessed in abundance. Her eyes fixed on a lone desk, neatly organized with papers and trinkets that hinted at Victoria's hidden life. With measured steps, Chloe sneaks over and closed in on the desk. The adrenaline continued to surge through her veins, propelling her further into the heart of the intrigue.

She meticulously examined each item on the desk, Chloe's mind raced, piecing together a puzzle that had yet to reveal its entirety. Every detail she uncovered brought her closer to the truth, each clue leading her deeper into the enigma that was Victoria's world. Turning around she found papers were scattered across the floor, clothes were tossed haphazardly on the bed and the unmade sheets were in a tangled mess.

Chloe took a moment to admire the chaos before turning her attention to the nightstand beside the bed. There, nestled between a stack of books and a half-empty water bottle, lay Victoria's cellphone - the ultimate prize. She reached out, her hand trembling slightly. Finally, her fingers closed around the phone, and she yanked it free from its hiding spot.

A triumphant smile spread across Chloe's face as she raced through the dimly lit hallway, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that she was almost there, so close to making her grand escape. But just as she inched closer to freedom, a faint click echoed behind her, sending a shiver down her spine. In that moment, panic consumed Chloe, urgent thoughts swirling inside her mind. She needed to find a hiding place, a secret sanctuary where she could elude her pursuers. With adrenaline coursing through her veins, her eyes frantically scanned the room for any sign of refuge.

And that's when her gaze fell upon the space beneath Victoria's bed. Without hesitation, Chloe dropped to her knees and swiftly rolled under the bed, hoping it would provide enough cover to shield her from detection. In the darkness, she carefully and quietly pulled off her backpack, wedging it in front of her to further camouflage herself. She bit down on her lip, determined to stifle any sound that might give away her presence.

Meanwhile, oblivious to Chloe's desperate plight, Victoria sauntered into the room and made her way over to her dresser. Her graceful fingers delicately reached for the flashy watch she had forgotten to remove before leaving. While Victorioria removed the timepiece from her wrist, a sense of relief washed over her.

Little did she know, Chloe had managed to find a way to hide somewhere without getting caught by Victoria, an accomplishment that left Rachel deeply impressed. She observing the scene with silent admiration, couldn't help but feel an immense sense of pride for her friend.

It was a true testament to Chloe's resourcefulness and cunning. In that precarious moment, Chloe had displayed a level of quick thinking and off the radar movements that left Rachel in awe.

"What the hell do you want Amber? You don't have to follow me around like a lost child." Victoria said looking over at Rachel with a hint of annoyance in her voice.

"Just checking to see if you're okay, that's all." Rachel shrugged, hands in the air in a gesture of surrender.

Victoria scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "Listen here, and listen carefully. You can run that fake bullshit with everybody in this town. But not me! So watch your fucking step, Amber. Because I'm out for blood and you're my next meal." She spat the words out venomously, her green eyes narrowing into slits.

"Well, if you're so tough, why do you keep running away from me? You're such a drama queen, Victoria. Always acting like you're the queen bee of this school. It's so cute when you play pretend." Rachel said with a smirk, enjoying watching Victoria squirm under her teasing.

"Fuck you." Victoria hissed, pushing her unwanted guest out of room along with her before slamming the door shut behind them. Despite the danger, Rachel couldn't resist the thrill of their cat-and-mouse game.

Rachel stumbled backwards, landing on her butt with a thud. She let out a small laugh, more amused than hurt. "Oh, come on, Victoria. That was so uncalled for." She dusted herself off and stood back up, facing Victoria. "You know you can't resist me. You're just jealous."

Stepping closer, Victoria's eyes burning with anger. "Jealous? Of you? Rachel, please. You're nothing but a pathetic copycat. A slut that somehow got accepted here. Everything you are, you took from me." She paused, tilting her head slightly. "You and Price give Blackwell a bad name. Good thing that's going to change soon." She paused, emphasizing the last word.

"What do you mean soon?" Rachel asked, her voice steady despite the chill that ran down her spine. She tried to maintain a calm facade, but Victoria's words were ominous, hinting at something sinister brewing in the background. "The hell you hiding Chase?"

"None of your business that's what I'm hiding." Victoria hissed, crossing her arms defensively over her chest. "You're just lucky I haven't told anyone about what you've been up to lately around campus." She paused, leaning in close so only Rachel could hear her next words. "But don't think for a second that you're off the hook. I'm watching you, Rachel. Always."

"Well, keep being my cheerleader, mkay?" Rachel teasingly kisses Victoria's nose adding in her signature wink. Victoria merely scoffs and turns her head away, looking disgusted. They stare at each other for a moment, their hate for each other was highly visible. It's as if there's a thread connecting them, binding them together in this twisted dance of animosity.

Rachel glances over her shoulder, making sure no one's around. "Look, Victoria, I don't know what you're up to or what you've got planned, but you should just leave it alone. You don't want to mess with me." She pauses, her eyes narrowing. "You really don't."

Victoria's gaze flickers, uncertain for the first time. "And what makes you so special, huh? You think you can just threaten me?" She laughs, but it's not a genuine sound. "I've been planning this for a long time, Rachel. You have no idea what you're getting yourself into."

"You know what they say, Victoria. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer." Rachel smirked, her eyes glinting with mischief. "And let me tell you, I'm both. You never were good at playing the game, and it's only a matter of time before your little plan backfires. So if I were you, I'll be careful." She shrugged casually, trying to mask the growing unease in her gut.

"You're just as arrogant as you are stupid, Rachel. You have no idea what I've been through, what I've seen, what I've done. But you're about to find out. And when you do, it'll be too late. You'll be sorry you ever crossed my path." Victoria's voice trembled with barely contained fury, her eyes blazing with an intensity that sent a shiver down Rachel's spine. She took a step back, feeling the cold wall at her back. "Just remember, Rachel. The only thing standing between us and our dreams is each other. And I'll stop at nothing to make sure I'm the one who comes out on top."

"On top you say? I always thought of you as a hard bottom." Rachel joked, trying to lighten the mood. She knew it was probably a bad idea, but she couldn't help herself. Victoria's face flushed with anger, and she took a step closer, their faces mere inches apart.

"You're not funny, Rachel. You never were. And you know what? Maybe you're right. Maybe I am the bottom. But at least I'm the bottom that everyone wants to be on top of. Unlike you, who's just the sidechick." Her voice unleashes toxic venom out, her green eyes burning into Rachel's soul. She drags Rachel by the collar over to the otherside knocking her back against the wall.

"Come on Vicky Icky, you really want to do this here in the hallway? What about your shower?" Rachel teased, her voice laced with false bravado. Victoria leaned in closer, her lips curling into a cruel smile.

"Oh, you think I'm scared of getting caught? Well guess what? Fuck that, I do what I want, when I want. I could care less about the consequences. You're nothing but a little rebel without a cause. But I'm not the one who's going to get expelled. It's going to be you." Her words sliced through the air like a razor-sharp blade, which Rachel finally took seriously for once.

"Will you two shut up already? Some of us trying to sleep here. Take it somewhere else please."

A deep, resonant voice echoed through the air, cutting through the tension like a knife. Startled, both girls turned to see Brooke Scott emerge from the shadows, her appearance commanding attention.

Brooke's long, raven hair cascaded down her back like a cloak of midnight, adding an air of mystery and intrigue to her presence. With arms crossed and a stern expression etched upon her face, she fixed Rachel and Victoria with a penetrating gaze, her piercing brown eyes daring them to carry on with their petty bickering.

Now, it was no secret that Rachel and Victoria hadn't exactly been close with Brooke before this moment. In fact, they hardly acknowledged her existence, save for the occasional sighting in the early hours of the morning in the girls' dormitory. Brooke was known for her brilliant mind and her passion for science, making her somewhat of an outcast amidst the social circles of Rachel and Victoria. Long ago Rachel had once attempted to strike up a conversation with Brooke, hoping to break through the walls of sarcasm that seemed to surround her like an impenetrable fortress.

Sooner or later she quickly found herself outmatched by Brooke's expert wit and biting sarcasm. It was an encounter that left Rachel feeling annoyed and unable to gather the courage to approach her again. But in this moment, as Brooke stood before them, annoyance written all over her face, it became clear that she was more than just the nerdy scientist they dismissed.

Her sudden appearance garnered attention, attracting more girls to the scene and inadvertently putting a pause on Chloe and Rachel's mission. However, Rachel's keen observation skills allowed her to catch sight of a familiar friend sneaking past the gathering crowd. From the corner of her eye, she noticed Chloe gracefully making her way towards her own room, undetected amidst the commotion.

Excitement surged within Rachel as she realized that their plan wasn't completely on hold after all. Gathering her thoughts, Rachel decided to take advantage of the distraction caused by Brooke's interruption. As the crowd grew larger, she discreetly slipped away from Victoria, skillfully maneuvering through the gathering of girls and making her way towards her bedroom.

"So, did you get it?" Rachel asked while making sure Chloe's room was locked and the coast was clear.

"Yes! I got it, but we need to go, fast! Victoria might be onto us. Let's try to see if we can make it outside and examine what she got in here." Chloe hands the stolen phone to Rachel, her heart still racing with adrenaline.

Taking off her robe, Rachel threw it back inside her closet and grabbed her black jacket off the bed, placing it on as quickly as humanly possible. She knew time was of the essence, and there was no room for unnecessary delays. The urgency in her actions mirrored the importance of the task at hand. Silently, Rachel and Chloe made their way out of the girls' dormitory.

The hallways echoed with the low hum of whispers and the occasional door creaking open. It was as if the whole place held its breath, waiting for a burst of disturbance. And like clockwork, just as they reached the dorm exit, they heard a new fight break out.

Surprisingly, it wasn't anyone other than Victoria and Brooke arguing. Their voices carried down the corridor, escalating into a heated exchange of words. Rachel and Chloe exchanged a quick glance, silently agreeing that now was not the time to get involved knowing that time was still ticking. With stealth-like precision, they managed to slip past unnoticed, grateful for the timely distraction that saved them from potential trouble.

Once outside, the two hurriedly made their way to the nearest quiet spot, a secluded area hidden behind a large, ancient tree. They leaned against its sturdy trunk, catching their breath and allowing their pounding hearts to settle. Rachel carefully reached into her bag and retrieved a phone she had acquired earlier, one that held valuable information they desperately needed.

With trembling hands, Rachel turned on the phone, her eagerness palpable. She knew that the contents of this device could change everything, but only if they could gain access to them. As she navigated through the phone's interface, her fingers tap-tapping rapidly on the touch screen, she felt Chloe's presence beside her.

They both leaned in close, their breaths mingling in the crisp night air as they awaited the results. The anticipation was almost unbearable. Every passing second seemed like an eternity as they anxiously waited for the phone to reveal its secrets. However, their hopes were quickly dashed when they were greeted by the unbendable sight of the phone's homepage, stubbornly requesting the owner to input a password.

Frustrated, Rachel slams her hand against the tree, causing leaves to rain down around them. "Great, just great. We risk everything, and this is what we get? A friggin' locked phone! Damn it Victoria!" She turns to Chloe, her eyes flashing with anger. "I can't believe this! We were so close, and now it's all gone to hell."

"Don't give up so easily Rach." Chloe slips her backpack off and zips it wide opened. She then sticks her entire hand inside and half way pulled out a black worn-out journal. "We may not be able to get into her cellphone but Vicky wrote some serious stuff in here"

Rachel's eyes widened in surprise as Chloe pulled out the notebook. She grabbed it from her friend's hands, flipping through the pages quickly. The writing was messy and scattered, but Rachel could tell that it was important. There were names, dates, and even some scribbled-out notes about the school's security system.

"This is huge!" Rachel exclaimed, her whole body flowing with excitement. "We can use this to our advantage. Let's study this tomorrow evening. We might just be able to take Victoria down after all."

"I swear, you and Vicky have some serious problems. I heard you two idiots getting it on outside her bedroom." Chloe said, rolling her eyes out of jealousy.

Rachel snorted, glancing over at Chloe. "If only you knew, Chlo. You'd be surprised how much fun it was, actually. It's like she was begging for it. But enough about that. Let's get back to the task at hand."

"The easy part of the mission is done Rach. We need to go to Principle Wells office. Drop the cellphone off, grab more details about Victoria and get the hell out of there before step-douche comes looking for us." Chloe explained, grabbing her bag and getting ready to go now leading the way to the principal's office.

Sneaking around campus under the moonlit sky, Rachel and Chloe moved stealthily, every step calculated to evade David's piercing flashlight. Their hearts raced in unison, pulsating with excitement and a tinge of fear. The thrill of their nocturnal adventure filled the air as they weaved through the shadows.

Beneath the canopy of darkness, they glided from one bush to another, their movements fluid and practiced. Rachel, with her graceful agility, matched by Chloe's nimble fingers, formed a symbiotic duo – an unbeatable force against any potential intruder who might cross their path. Minutes felt like hours as they continued their dangerous dance, navigating the somewhat complicated corridors of Blackwell Academy. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, their endeavors paid off. Chloe's unparalleled talent for lock-picking triumphed once again, granting them unhindered access to the heart of the prestigious institution.

Into the heart of the academy they delved, cautiously traversing the desolate halls. Rachel took charge, her acute intuition leading them through the eerie silence that engulfed the empty school. Each step they took resonated with purpose, like a symphony of anxiety and readiness. Their clandestine mission possessed a singular objective – to reach the sanctum of Principal Wells. With unwavering commitment and unspoken trust, Rachel guided Chloe to their ultimate destination.

Principal Wells' office became their holy grail, a symbolic representation of all the secrets they yearned to unravel. But as fate would have it, when they approached the final threshold of their endeavor, a locked door stood as an impenetrable barrier. They exchanged fleeting glances of sheer disappointment by this yet masked their discouragement with hope, luck, and rekindling their spirits. Undeterred by the formidable obstacle before them, Rachel and Chloe tapped into the depths of their resourcefulness.

For even in moments of adversity, they were fighters – warriors armed with courage and imagination. With an unyielding spirit, they explored their surroundings, searching for a hidden key, a forgotten pathway, anything that would grant them entry into the coveted inner sanctum. Through every drawer, behind every bookshelf, they rummaged tirelessly, their fingers brushing against the dusty relics of forgotten times.

Minutes ticked by and David could be anywhere by now, but their resolve remained unbroken. For Rachel and Chloe knew that the tales of the academy were waiting to be exposed, and they were prepared to fight against any obstruction that stood in their way.

After searching effortlessly around the area forever their persistence paid off. Buried beneath a stack of ancient books, they discovered a worn key, its surface etched with the initials 'W.B.'. Without hesitation, Chloe inserted the key into the lock. There was a click, and the door swung open, revealing the principal's inner sanctum. The room was illuminated by the soft glow of a desk lamp, casting long shadows across the walls.

A massive oak desk dominated the center of the room, its surface littered with papers and various knickknacks. Not to forget any other details it was also a plush leather chair sat behind the desk, and in it, Principal Wells slumbered peacefully. The principal's office was a testament to her meticulous organization, with every item in its place and every paper filed neatly away.

"Look for anything that contains Victoria." Rachel whispered to Chloe. They both knew that if anyone could find something incriminating about Victoria, it would be the meticulous Principal Wells.

They carefully navigated through the sea of papers on the desk, their eyes scanning each document for any mention of Victoria. The office was cluttered with files, reports, and crumpled sheets that lay like the remnants of forgotten dreams. Rachel, an astute investigator when needed, knew that finding a clue amidst this chaos would be akin to searching for a needle in a haystack. Several minutes turned into what felt like centuries as Rachel meticulously examined every page, her gaze darting from one faded line to another.

Every word seemed to blend together in an avalanche of information, making it increasingly difficult to find the proverbial needle she sought. Desperation threatened to consume her, but she managed to quell the rising tide of frustration with unchanged focus.

Despite the formidable challenge before her, Rachel's perseverance paid off. Her fingertips grazed against a folded piece of paper tucked away in the recesses of a forgotten drawer. Intrigued, she gingerly retrieved the document, her heart pounding with anticipation. As she unfolded it, the aged paper crackled slightly, unveiling an enigmatic handwritten note. The words sprawled across the page shimmered with a sense of secret knowledge, elegant in their meticulous script.

It was Victoria's handwriting.

"Holy shit, Rachel, you found it!" Chloe exclaimed, her eyes glued to the page. The handwriting was indeed Victoria's, neat and meticulous, almost like a work of art. It was a confession letter addressed to Principal Wells, detailing Victoria's involvement in a series of bullying incidents, vandalism, and even blackmail. The letter was a smoking gun, proof of Victoria's dark underbelly that they could use to expose her.

"If we say any of these things to Principal Wells then Victoria is over! All of these are warnings and she has one more before she's expelled." Rachel whispered, her eyes scanning the rest of the letter. Her heart raced as she considered the implications of what they had found.

"Should I take a picture of this for proof?" Chloe asked, already reaching for her phone. Rachel nodded, not wanting to risk the possibility of the letter disappearing or being tampered with. They exchanged a knowing glance, understanding the gravity of their situation.

Once Chloe snapped the picture, Rachel carefully refolded the letter and placed it back in the drawer. As she did so, a surge of power coursed through her veins, leaving her with an indescribable feeling of triumph. The knowledge that they held Victoria's future in their hands was both exhilarating and terrifying. Taking care not to arouse any suspicion, Rachel stowed away the locked cellphone that belonged to Victoria Chase behind a veil of old books, hidden in the depths of the Principal Well's cabinet, it would remain concealed—a time capsule waiting to reveal its secrets at a later date.

Leaving the office, the weight of their dangerous mission seemed to lift from their shoulders, replaced by a renewed sense of purpose. A triumphant smile played on their lips, silently acknowledging the magnitude of what they had accomplished. The girls knew that they had taken a bold step towards revealing Victoria's secret and bringing her down. The rest of the night passed in a blur as Rachel and Chloe maneuvered through the campus, careful not to arouse suspicion. Shadows danced around them as they made their way back to the girls' dormitory undetected.

Their hearts raced with adrenaline, blended with exhaustion from the night's events.

Saying their goodbyes for the night, Rachel and Chloe entered their individual bedrooms with a mixture of exhaustion and exhilaration. Their beds seemed more inviting than ever before, offering solace from the treacherous journey they had embarked upon. They collapsed onto their mattresses, feeling the weight of the world slowly lift from their tired bodies.

Sleep started to consumed them, flashes of their daring encounter with Victoria Chase replayed in their minds. The daunting challenge they had faced head-on seemed surreal even in the quiet of their rooms. Yet, there was a deep-rooted sense of accomplishment and vindication that washed over them.

Tomorrow would bring new challenges, but for now, they relished in the sweet taste of victory. They fell into a deep slumber, their dreams intertwined with a tapestry of triumph and hope. Though fatigue consumed them, the fire of their accomplishment burned brightly within their souls.

And so, as the night settled in, Rachel and Chloe slept in peace with the knowledge that they had faced one of Arcadia Bay's most formidable foes and emerged victorious. The journey had just begun, but they were ready to continue fighting, ready to face anyone, knowing that their actions could shape the destiny of Victoria Chase and others who crossed their path.

–––

Next day was a complete mass destruction. Victoria's entire room was disorganized; she had single-handedly transformed her once pristine sanctuary into a chaotic labyrinth of disorder. Oh, how perilously close she was to the edge of her sanity. It all began with the loss of a single item, and now, desperately searching for her missing phone, she had unknowingly unleashed chaos upon herself. In her fervent pursuit of the elusive device, Victoria's room bore the brunt of her frustration.

Papers lay strewn carelessly across the floor, forgotten victims of her relentless search. Clothes, once dutifully folded and arranged, now lay discarded upon her bed, their neatness forsaken in this quest for technological resolution. Every item in her possession seemed to have revolted against its rightful place, as objects became renegades in a world of mounting disorder.

The day had hardly begun, yet Victoria's serenity had already crumbled, replaced by a turbulent storm within her soul. The weight of her anxiety burdened her heart, threatening to shatter it into a thousand fragmented pieces. Each passing moment felt like an eternity, as she wrestled with her escalating emotions in a desperate attempt to regain control.

Pacing restlessly over at her closet, Victoria glanced at the towering shelf that held her cherished possessions. And there, perched on the highest shelf like a jewel awaiting its queen, was her megaphone speaker.

An idea sparked in Victoria's mind, and she knew exactly what she had to do. Victoria extended her arm toward the speaker and carefully lowered it into her grasp. She dusted off the cobwebs that had settled on its surface, took a deep breath, and flicked the switch. The speaker came to life with a powerful burst of sound, echoing through the room like a call to action.

Ready and in position, Victoria stormed out of her bedroom and swiftly made her way down the corridors of the girls' dormitory. Heavy noise disturbance was played as the morning peace was abruptly shattered beneath the weight of Victoria's resolute footsteps.

"Everyone get up! I have important matters to discuss with you all." Victoria's voice boomed through the dormitory, surprising even herself. She marched toward the center of the common room, her eyes darting left and right as the other girls slowly started appearing.

The speaker's volume was so overpowering that it made her ears ring, and she could feel the vibrations of the sound on her skin. She paused for a moment, realizing that she was holding the speaker in her hand. It suddenly occurred to her that she had no idea how to turn it off. But it was too late now. The damage had been done. Girls that lived there slowly gathered around her, their curiosity piqued by the commotion.

Some of them rubbed their sleepy eyes, while others yawned and stretched. Victoria took a deep breath and raised the speaker higher, hoping that the increased volume would keep their attention.

Unbeknownst to anyone who dared to intercept her determined path, Victoria had only one mission this morning: to retrieve her missing cellphone. She could not fathom spending a day without it, and she would leave no stone unturned to ensure its safe return to her hands. She prowled the hallways, Victoria's megaphone speaker became her powerful ally, projecting her voice above all else. The dormitory walls trembled with every word she spoke, igniting a mix of excitement, curiosity, and concern among her fellow peers.

"Again, I repeat, this is extremely important!" Victoria's voice reverberated through the air, reaching the farthest corners of the building. "A dire situation has befallen me! My precious cellphone has gone astray! I implore each and every one of you to aid me in this quest, for together we shall restore peace to my morning!"

"I haven't seen it Victoria…" Kate said nervously, raising her hand. She was standing beside Dana, still in her pajamas, her hair messy from sleep.

Victoria sighed, not sure if she should be relieved or more frustrated. She lowered the speaker, trying to control her breathing as the ringing in her ears began to subside. "It's alright, Marsh. I understand. Perhaps someone else knows" She paused, her gaze scanning the crowd of girls, each face lined up in confusion.

"Uh, have you tried your bedroom Victoria?" Aylssa asked, stepping forward. Her blue eyes were half-closed, her expression sleepy but concerned.

"Good idea! Let me just go back to my room and check for the millionth time." Victoria said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes. The other girls giggled nervously.

Taylor still tired walked up to Victoria, her long blond hair messy and a sleepy smile on her face. "Hey, Victoria. I haven't seen it, but I could go with you to look for it. I mean, it's the least I can do since I'm awake now." She yawned, stretching her arms above her head.

"Yeah I think that's the best option–" Victoria was about to say something until she noticed one person that wasn't in the crowd. She paused, her eyes narrowing as she tried to remember who it was until it naturally came to her. "Where's Rachel Amber? Where is she?!"

Stella glanced around, confused. "Rachel is probably still in her room, I haven't really seen her since last night." She suggested, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"I bet that fake whore has something to do with this," Victoria said, already marching towards Rachel's room.

Victoria glided down the corridor, her mere presence became an irresistible force to be reckoned with. Each girl, compelled by a mixture of intrigue and a desire for the latest gossip, found themselves compelled to follow Victoria's lead further down the hall. It was as if Victoria possessed an invisible gravitational pull, effortlessly drawing these curious souls towards her.

Amongst this gathering of eclectic personalities, there was Juilet, a vivacious girl with a never-ending appetite for juicy stories. Her insatiable hunger for gossip had led her to join Victoria on this exhilarating chase for answers. She reveled in the excitement, eagerly anticipating the chaos that was sure to ensue.

Although, there were also those who possessed a genuine concern for Victoria and sought the truth behind her stolen possession. They trailed behind with equal fervor and determination, fueled by compassion rather than craving for rumors. These individuals yearned to provide solace to Victoria and perhaps aid her in finding the culprit responsible for her loss.

Their footsteps echoed throughout the hallway until they reached their destination—Rachel's room. A sense of tension swelled within Victoria's heart as she gingerly approached the door, her apprehension mingling with a simmering anger that threatened to consume her entirely. With a surge of unchecked emotions, Victoria kicked the door open wide, revealing the room illuminated by the soft glow of dusk.

There, lying in peaceful slumber on her bed, was Rachel Amber—Victoria's target. The sight of her face stirred a tempest within Victoria's soul, an inexplicable rage that threatened to drown her in a maelstrom of emotions. It was as if every ounce of frustration, anger, had converged into a storm within her, seeking an outlet.

"Rachel! Wake up, you little whore!" Victoria yelled, slamming her fist against the door frame.

The commotion in the hallway had already drawn the attention of several other girls, who were now peering into Rachel's room interested. Some of them looked concerned, while others appeared amused.

Rachel, startled by the intrusion, sat up quickly in bed, her blonde hair falling around her face. She squinted at Victoria, confusion clouding her hazel eyes. "Victoria, what are you doing here? And why are you yelling?"

More and more of curious girls entered in the room and exchanged glances, unsure of what to make of the situation. Some of them edged closer, while others remained by the doorway, peering in curiously.

"I'm tired of playing games with you Amber. Give me back my phone right now!" Victoria demanded, her voice growing louder and more shrill with every word. "You have five seconds to tell me where it is."

"Don't have it. Now if you excuse me I have two more hours until class starts." Rachel yawned, stretching her arms above her head and pulling the covers closer to her chest. Her voice was calm, almost mocking.

At that moment the room erupted into a cacophony of whispers as the other girls exchanged glances, unsure of what to make of Rachel's response. Some of them looked at Victoria, expecting her to react with anger or frustration, but she remained surprisingly calm.

"You're lying," Victoria said simply, her voice low but steady. "You know exactly what you've done."

In the background watching the drama the girls who were being noisy shifted uncomfortably, feeling the weight of the tension in the air growing. Some of them began to inch their way out of the room, unsure of how far they should get involved in the escalating situation.

Rachel, however, remained calm. "You're right, I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't seen your phone anywhere." She yawned again, making it clear that she was growing bored with the conversation.

"Well, maybe I should just look for it myself then, since you're being so cooperative," Victoria said, narrowing her eyes. With that, she marched over to Rachel's bed and began searching through the rumpled sheets, throwing the covers aside in her quest for the missing cellphone. The other girls in the room exchanged uncertain glances, unsure of whether to intervene or simply stand by and watch the unfolding drama.

"What the fuck Victoria? What do you think you're doing?" Rachel exclaimed, her calm demeanor finally cracking as she pushed herself up to sit against the headboard. The other girls in the room winced at the harsh language, but no one dared to reprimand her.

Not waiting for this problem to go any further, the vibrant and determined Juliet found herself firmly gripping hold of Victoria's shirt, pulling her away from Rachel's bed. The atmosphere was charged as the two most popular girls locked eyes, defiant in their stances. It was a tense showdown, a collision of emotions and unresolved conflicts that is now rolling back to reality.

To understand the gravity of this moment, one must delve into the intricate web of relationships that had brought them here. Victoria, with her sharp tongue and simmering resentment, harbored a deep-rooted hatred towards Rachel. Perhaps it stemmed from envy or an inherent need to undermine her at every turn.

Nevertheless, Juliet's disdain for Victoria surpassed even the resentment she felt for Rachel. It was an unexpected betrayal that ignited the unforgiving fire within her soul. Victoria had dared to flirt shamelessly with Zachary Riggins, a man who had captured Juliet's heart in ways no other had managed to do.

From that moment on, any semblance of camaraderie between the two girls evaporated into thin air, replaced by an icy tension that refused to thaw. Despite their mutual animosity, Juliet and Victoria maintained a superficial civility in their interactions. Their shared social circles demanded such pleasantries, tethering them together with a delicate thread of politeness. Beneath their polite facade, however, lay a bubbling pot of resentment, waiting for the right moment to boil over.

"Rachel said she doesn't have it. Back off." Juilet snapped at Victoria, her voice laced with disgust.

Juilet pushed Victoria away from Rachel's bed, effectively ending the chaotic confrontation. The other girls in the room exchanged nervous glances, their eyes darting between the two leaders of their social circle.

It was a tense stand-off, with each girl daring the other to make the first move. Watching the exchange, Rachel's expression one of amused disbelief. She knew that whatever happened next would have far-reaching consequences for everyone involved. But as much as she despised yet loved fighting with Victoria, she also recognized that Juliet was not someone to be crossed.

"Don't push her you jerk!" Taylor comes out the crowd and pushes Juilet back with force. "Victoria is right. We already know that Rachel has it. Just give it back."

Adding more fuel to the fire Dana walks up and pushes Taylor away from Juilet angrily. "I'm not going to stand by why you two accuse my friend. Rachel doesn't have it, so fuck off. We don't know where your phone is Victoria, figure it out in your own free time."

"How about you fuck off instead?" Courtney came from behind Kate and pushed Dana now entering the noxious conflict. "Victoria has a right to know where her phone is and you're not helping the situation by defending that slut." She directs her finger over to Rachel.

Rachel's eyes narrowed in anger as Courtney's words cut through the air. "Who are you calling a slut?"

Everyone in the room stood on edge, their bodies coiled like springs waiting to snap. Wild emotions danced across their faces – anger, fear, skepticism. With each passing second, the atmosphere grew increasingly dangerous, veering closer to tipping point.

Some desperately clung to their chosen sides, others found themselves torn between the chaos unfolding before them. Every girl, shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot, their eyes darting between Victoria, Juliet, Rachel, and the others who had taken sides.

Kate, who had been standing quietly to the side up until now, finally found her voice. "Okay, enough!" she exclaimed, raising her hands in a placating gesture. "We're all just making things worse here. Victoria, we know you're upset about your phone, but yelling and accusing people isn't going to help. And Rachel, you know better than to start anything with Victoria. Let's just calm down please." She looked around at the other girls, their faces flushed with anger and frustration.

"Yeah, Katie is right. Everybody who isn't Rachel get out now." Chloe, out of nowhere, came inside the doorway of the room, making everyone jump a little. She crossed her arms, leaning against the doorframe. The other girls, surprised by her intervention, exchanged glances.

"Oh hey, Chloe. Cool outfit or whatever." Taylor smiled as she scoop one of her hair strings behind her ear.

"Do I even know you?" Chloe asked, arching an eyebrow. She glanced at Victoria, who seemed to be gathering her thoughts, and then back at Taylor.

Taylor shrugged, unperturbed. "Whatever. I'm just saying. Cool outfit and all." She glanced back at Chloe's clothes, a black tank top and high-waisted black jeans.

"Will you stop? Jeez, she won't notice you, stop trying." Rachel glares at Taylor, her expression full of disdain.

Victoria, on the other hand, seems to have regained her composure. She looks around the room, her expression calculating. "Whatever. You may won the battle but not the war. If I don't get my phone by the end of the day I'm going straight to Principal Well's office."

Rachel smirked in response, unphased by Victoria's threat. "While you there, you may just find what you're looking for. Good luck, my little cheerleader." She winks at Victoria, earning a few snickers from her supporters. Straight away Victoria's face flushes red with anger, but before she can retaliate, Courtney steps in front of her, putting a calming hand on her shoulder.

"Screw you Amber!" Victoria snarls, shoving Courtney away angrily now standing right in front of Rachel. The tension in the room spikes even higher as everyone takes a step back, watching the two enemies square off.

"Oh? And what time will that be Chase?" Rachel holding on her smirk, challenging Victoria to make the first move. Her supporters on the other hand, seemed tensed, ready to jump in at any moment. Victoria glares at Rachel, her anger threatening to consume her.

"Uh oh. I know what that means. I got to get out of here…" Kate whispers to herself bolting straight to the door in great speed and disappears into the hallway.

In the midst of the chaos, Dana's sudden lunge propels Victoria forward, causing her to collide with Rachel. The collision ignites a fierce, unbridled clash between the two girls. Fists and feet collide with vicious force, hair is yanked with ruthless determination, and a torrent of heated insults fills the air. Amidst the bedlam, Chloe struggles to intervene, but the sheer pandemonium makes it nearly impossible to defend Rachel. The room becomes a battleground as a lamp crashes to the ground, scattering papers in its wake. With surprising force, Juliet's attempt to separate Courtney results in a gaping hole being torn into the once pristine wall.

For the onlookers, the scene unfolds with a blend of horror and disbelief. It becomes painfully apparent that the days of indecision and neutrality are over; a line has been drawn in the sand no more switching teams. The dangerous battle has sown the seeds of division, imprinting upon the onlookers the realization that they must choose a side—either with Rachel or with Victoria. The war has been stoked, and it is only just beginning.

"Hey, glasses girl can you give me a hand?" Chloe calls out to Brooke who was just standing there in the corner of the room recording the entire fight with her cellphone doing absolutely nothing to stop the situation.

"Why should I? You are all insane fighting over something that's this stupid. Plus, I don't really care for none of you to be honest." Brooke taps her foot repeatedly on the ground, her glasses reflecting the chaos around her. "Anyways, I'm out of here, I'm meeting Warren at the Library and don't want to be late." She walks away from the scene, leaving Chloe and Courtney to fend for themselves against the other girls.

"You sarcastic bitch!" Chloe yells out the door for Brooke to hear but it was already too late. She turns back to the room and sees Juilet and Victoria still going at it, even though Courtney has managed to separate them a bit while on the otherside Dana and Rachel tag teamed against Taylor beating her to a pulp.

"This is getting out of hand, stop it Victoria!" Courtney exclaimed, her voice strained from trying to separate the fighting girls. She looked around the room, desperately searching for a way to end this madness.

Chloe sighs, running her hands through her messy hair. She glances at Rachel, who is already starting to look tired from fighting. "C'mon, Rachel. We need to get out of here before someone really gets hurt." She tries again to pull her friend away from the chaotic area.

"No, this is war!" Rachel responds, distracted by the mass destruction that was going on in her bedroom. She lunges forward, grabbing Taylor by the shirt and pulling her into the fray. The two girls struggle against one another, teeth gritted and muscles straining.

"Hold her down Rachel!" Dana yelled, trying to pry Taylor off of her friend. The two girls were locked in a vicious struggle, their nails digging into each other's skin. Chloe looked around the room, her heart racing with fear and frustration. This wasn't how it was supposed to end. She had only wanted to help Rachel, not get caught up in some kind of twisted battle royale.

'I wish Maxine was here…' Chloe thought to herself, wishing her friend could help them stop the insanity. She watched as Dana and Rachel continued to fight, their movements becoming more desperate and erratic. Suddenly, there was a loud crash as a bookshelf toppled over, sending books flying everywhere.

The noise seemed to momentarily shock everyone into silence. Even Juilet and Victoria paused their brawl for a second, glancing around warily. Chloe took advantage of the brief respite and rushed forward, managing to separate the two girls. They glared at each other, breathing heavily, as blood trickled down their faces.

"Dude, stop it!" Chloe shouted, growing tired of the fighting. "It's not worth it Rach." She grabbed Rachel by the arm, forcing her to turn away from Taylor, while Courtney stepped in to restrain the latter.

Some of the girls in the room slowly came back to their senses, their eyes widening as they took in the extent of the damage they had caused. The once pristine room was now a scene of chaos. Broken furniture littered the floor, shattered remnants of what used to be chairs and tables. Books and papers were strewn everywhere, their contents scattered and disarrayed. Crimson streaks of blood smeared the walls, stark against the pale paint.

Most of them had horror dawning on their faces. They exchanged guilty glances, the weight of the situation finally sinking in. How had it come to this? What had possessed them to unleash such destruction?

Knowing this was her only opportunity to free the person she cared about most from the suffocating clutches of a toxic environment, Chloe mustered every ounce of strength within her. The world seemed to blur around her as she confronted the raging hurricane that was Rachel Amber. Kicking, screaming, and biting, Rachel fought against the idea of being rescued, for she had grown accustomed to the darkness that enveloped her. Chloe refused to give up on her friend.

She knew that beneath Rachel's torment lay a fractured soul yearning for salvation. Chloe mustered the strength to lift Rachel's lightweight body amidst the chaos. It was as if the weight of the world rested upon her shoulders, but she carried on undeterred.

Slowly weaving her way through the labyrinthine halls, Chloe navigated the treacherous path towards freedom.

Each step was a testament to her committed loyalty, despite the physical and emotional turmoil that consumed Rachel. With each passing door, Chloe felt a renewed sense of purpose fueling her every movement.

What seemed like hours of walking, they reached Chloe's haven, her sanctuary from the storm that raged outside. Opening her own room, she welcomed the two of them into a place of safety and solace. Closing the door behind them, Chloe felt a sense of relief, yet she knew their journey was far from over.

Gently laying Rachel down upon the bed, Chloe hoped that the softness beneath her would serve as a metaphorical cushion against the harsh realities they faced. With tenderness in her touch, she sought to soothe Rachel's tormented spirit.

They both settled onto the bed, Chloe could sense the storm within Rachel still brewing. She didn't shy away from the anger and frustration that emanated from her friend, understanding that healing required facing the darkness head-on. Chloe's presence alone offered a safe space for Rachel to unleash her pain, knowing that she wouldn't be judged or abandoned.

"Rachel…what was you thinking?" Chloe asked softly, running her fingers through Rachel's messy hair. She knew that her friend was hurting, and she wanted to help her. But she also needed to know why Rachel had done something so reckless. "I mean, you know how much I care about you, right? You could had gotten hurt or worst. All because of some stupid cellphone?"

Rachel's gaze remained fixed on the ceiling, her breathing still ragged. For a moment, Chloe feared that she wasn't even listening. But then, finally, Rachel turned her head to look at her friend. There was a mixture of pain and defiance in her eyes. "I'm sorry, Chloe. I just...I don't know what came over me."

Chloe sighed, knowing that Rachel would have her reasons. She pulled a soft blanket over them, trying to create a warm, comfortable atmosphere. "It's okay, Rach. We can talk about it, if you want to. Or you can just take some time to yourself. It's your choice."

"I need you…" Rachel said turning over onto her side to face Chloe. "I feel so alone, like no one understands me. And sometimes…I just need someone to be there for me. Even if it's just for a little while." She let out a long sigh, her eyes still locked onto Chloe's.

Wrapping her arms around Rachel, Chloe pulled her close. She felt Rachel's body begin to ease as they nestled together under the blanket. "I'll always be there for you, no matter what. You know that, right? Even when things get tough, even when everyone else turns their back on you. I'll never leave you."

Rachel sniffled, her grip tightening around Chloe's shirt. "Thanks, Chlo. I knew you would understand.

"Of course I understand, Rachel. I've been there too, you know? Feeling like no one gets you, like everyone else is just out for themselves. It's not easy, and it's okay to feel that way sometimes." Chloe paused, gathering her thoughts before continuing. "But I want you to know that you're not alone. You have me, we will chase the stars, fight side by side through the fire, and be best friends forever regardless of what happens."

Caught in the intensity of the moment, Rachel leaned forward without even realizing it. Her lips gently pressed against Chloe's, a gesture filled with longing and vulnerability. In that instant, time stood still, and it was as if the world melted away, leaving only the two of them in a bubble of their own making.

The touch of their lips acted as an electric shock, reigniting a cascade of emotions that neither of them could deny any longer. Gently entwining their tongues, they began exploring each other with an abandon born out of desire and curiosity. Rachel, overcome with a sense of neediness and longing, pushed her body up from the bed. Straddling Chloe, she held her position with a yearning that could no longer be contained.

The room seemed to grow warmer, mirroring the fire that burned within them. Their bodies moved in unison, dancing to a rhythm forged by the intensity of their connection. As their souls entwined, so did their bodies, creating an intoxicating symphony that echoed through every corner of the room. In that moment, nothing else mattered. Time itself had ceased to exist for Rachel and Chloe. Their fears, their worries, their friends, and enemies were rendered insignificant in the face of this undeniable truth - they were meant to be.

This was their moment, a singular thread woven into the tapestry of their lives. Each touch and every caress, they discovered a new facet of their love. They were explorers venturing into uncharted territory, unraveling layers of intimacy that had been concealed for far too long. There was a newfound vulnerability in their actions, coupled with an unparalleled trust that could only be forged through forgiveness.

Rachel's fingers traced delicate patterns on Chloe's skin, her touch as gentle as a feather despite the urgency that thrummed through her veins. Chloe, in turn, ran her hands through Rachel's hair, reveling in the softness of each strand. They were lost in each other, existing only in this moment, this connection.

Time seemed to slow down as they continued to explore each other, their bodies moving in perfect harmony. Rachel's moans filled the air, each one a testament to the intensity of her emotions. Chloe's breath came in ragged gasps, her head thrown back as she gave herself over to the sensations coursing through her.

"Chloe…I have to tell you something…" Rachel whispered between gasps for air. Chloe's eyes widened in surprise, but she didn't stop. She didn't want to break the connection between them. "I know things have been sorta bad between us. I'll admit, I'm not perfect. It's just, what I'm saying is, will you be my g-girlfriend?"

Rachel's words hung in the air like a fragile balloon, almost too delicate to bear the weight of their meaning.

Chloe blushed, her heart swelling with emotion. She knew that Rachel rarely ever been the type to express her feelings openly, and it meant so much to her that she was trying now. "Are you serious?"

"Of course I'm serious. I mean, I know we haven't been getting along lately, and what happened with the whole–but that doesn't change how I feel about you. You're amazing, kind, smart, funny, badass, and I want to be with you. I want us to be together–" Rachel's words were punctuated by a soft moan as she arched her back, her nails digging into Chloe's skin.

"Hella yes I want to be your girlfriend, Rachel. You're the second person who gets me. And I feel the same way. I love you too, you know?" Chloe replied, tears welling up in her eyes. She leaned forward and kissed Rachel tenderly, their lips moving in unison as they expressed their love for one another. "And I promise, I'll always be here for you, no matter what. Just don't betray me."

Rachel made herself comfortable by holding on tight, hearing Chloe's heartbeat slowly. They were nestled together, a warm blanket wrapped around their bodies, as they allowed their inner minds to relax. The soothing rhythm of Chloe's heart provided a sense of security and comfort, like a lullaby in the darkness.

But as they laid there in each other's arms, Rachel couldn't shake the thoughts of Chloe's last sentence. Betrayal – something she never wanted Chloe to experience again. Deep down, Rachel knew that she had secrets hidden in the shadows, secrets involving Hank and Mark Jefferson. And these secrets threatened to become a hindrance in their relationship.

Hank was merely a distraction, someone Rachel had chosen due to Chloe's lack of attention towards her. He was like a Frank 2.0, offering money and drugs whenever Rachel needed them. There was no genuine love for him, just a means to fulfill her desires.

Mark Jefferson, on the other hand, was a different story. Rachel couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards Blackwell's most famous photography teacher, but it wasn't love. It was the allure of power and connections that drew her towards him. Mark had the ability to whisk them away from Arcadia Bay, to give Rachel the chance to pursue her dreams of becoming a model.

In Rachel's mind, this was a small sacrifice she had to make for their future. She couldn't bear to see Chloe suffer again, and if it meant using these men as stepping stones towards a better life, she was willing to do it. Inside her thoughts, Rachel knew that her actions had consequences. She knew that the web of lies she was spinning would eventually unravel, threatening to destroy the very foundation of their relationship.

While Rachel lay there, wrapped in the comfort of Chloe's arms, she made a silent promise to herself. She vowed to protect Chloe, to shield her from the harsh realities that lurked in the shadows. But little did Rachel know, secrets have a way of revealing themselves, and the true test of their love and trust was just beginning.

–––

Tirelessly waiting for her friends to come, Maxine leaned on her locker, staring up at the ceiling. She hadn't seen or heard from Victoria today, which made her worried. Normally, the over-dramatic blonde would bombard her with text messages every morning, whether it was spam or an actual conversation.

Strangely enough, Maxine hadn't received anything from her not even a simple phone call. This absence of communication only intensified her concern. If only Maxine had Taylor and Courtney's phone numbers. She didn't want to intrude on their personal lives, even though they were all close friends. Without Victoria, she feared that the two girls might have ditched her because of how she had been acting recently.

Furthermore, Maxine soon enough discovered that Taylor and Courtney had passed the loyalty test and stood by her side, which she cherished dearly.

If it weren't for Chloe constantly occupying her mind day and night, Maxine would have returned to her normal routine – going out partying, hanging out with friends, impulsively buying everything her eyes laid upon just for the fun of it, and spending time with the other members of Vortex instead of constantly drowning in homework like a sore loser.

She despised how this one particular girl she had only known for a few days had managed to magically change everything. And yet, somehow, someway, Maxine found herself loving the way Chloe's dorky face lit up whenever a topic she liked was brought up. It fascinated her how certain movies sparked Chloe's interest, like Blade Runner or even some old-school flick. Spending time with this one girl seemed worth all the stress and headaches she endured so far in Arcadia Bay.

Continuing to patiently wait for the arrival of Victoria and the others, her mind was abruptly interrupted by an annoying snapping noise that reverberated in her ears.

Opening her eyes and seeing the world again, she immediately spotted Warren Graham with his dopey smile plastered across his face, as usual. This time, he was accompanied by two other people – Kate Marsh and Brooke Scott. Warren's presence always brought a sense of comfort to Maxine. He had an uncanny ability to make her forget about her worries and simply enjoy his company. Kate, on the other hand, was the gentle harmless soul who radiated kindness and warmth. She had a calming effect on Maxine whenever they interacted. Brooke, however, was a bit more complicated. Often misunderstood, she possessed a sharp intellect that attracted Maxine's curiosity.

"Yo if it isn't Maxine Power." Warren nodded at her as he walked over. His tone was teasing, but there was a hint of sincerity in it as well. Kate innocently smiled shyly behind him, her gaze darting around before finally settling on Maxine. Brooke, on the other hand, merely raised an eyebrow, studying Maxine carefully.

"Hey, you guys," Maxine greeted them with a warm small smile, trying to ignore the weight in her chest. "What's up?" She glanced at her phone, hoping that Victoria and the others would show up soon.

"Uh, the ceiling?" Brooke sarcastically said as a visible smirk played out on her face, making Warren snicker beside her. Maxine noticed right off the bat the slight tension between them. It was almost as if they were trying to one-up each other with their clever remarks.

"No, seriously, what's going on?" Maxine asked, hoping to steer the conversation in a more casual direction. She glanced at her phone again, her heart beginning to race. Where were Victoria and the others? They were supposed to meet her here at least twenty minutes ago.

"Well, we were just about to ask you if you wanted to join us at the Library before first period class starts," Kate offered with her trademark shy smile. "I-If you're not doing anything important, that is." She bit her lip nervously, glancing at Warren for support.

"Oh, uh, sure," Maxine stammered, not quite believing her ears. "I mean, yeah, I guess. Why not?" She hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should mention her concerns about Victoria or not. "But I'm actually waiting for some friends to meet me here first," she added, hoping they would understand.

Brooke took this opportunity to shove her two friends away from Maxine excited to hear the great news that she wasn't going with them. "We are truly going to miss you, don't let the door hit you on the way out." Her words were harsh and biting, but there was that same annoying sarcasm in her tone. She turned and began to walk away. Kate followed behind her, casting a worried glance back at Maxine before catching up with Brooke.

Warren lingered for a moment longer, giving Maxine a friendly wave before joining the others.

'Sarcastic bitch...' Maxine bitterly thought to herself watching Brooke closely, her eyes narrowing into a glare. She sighed and glanced down at her phone again, still no word from Victoria or the others.

Class was about to start soon and Maxine couldn't afford missing the one subject that she was failing miserably at: math. Feeling anxious, shifting her focus at her cellphone for the ninth time, hoping for a miracle that would somehow delay the start of the class. No response, so she rested her head back on her locker, frustration and worry crept in again, evident from the crossed arms and sighs escaping her trembling lips.

Without her best friend, Victoria, by her side, the world felt strange and unfamiliar to Maxine. Victoria's absence left a void in her heart, an emptiness that she couldn't bear. They had always faced everything together, including their academic struggles.

With Victoria temporarily now absent from school, Maxine felt so lost and alone and she hated it.

"No way, T. When I find it she's out of here. Out!"

Waiting surely paid off, as Maxine heard the familiar yelling voice come echoing down the long school hallway heading towards her she couldn't be more than happy to see her friends. Excitement filled her heart as she turned her head to see three figures approaching.

It was none other than Victoria, Courtney, and Taylor her closest friends. Suddenly, that innocent smile of Maxine's quickly faded when she noticed their disheveled and battered appearances. Victoria's face bore the marks of a fierce struggle, with bruises and scrapes marring her once flawless features. It was evident that she had endured a great deal of pain.

Courtney, surprisingly, seemed to have escaped relatively unscathed, aside from a minor scratch on the top of her forehead, just slightly left of center. But it was Taylor who caught Maxine's attention the most, as she looked as if she had been attacked by a savage beast.

The sight of Taylor was heartbreaking. Her beautiful face was damaged by a black eye, teeth marks, and numerous painful scratches. It was almost too brutal to describe all at once. Maxine's heart filled with concern and a burning desire to know what had happened.

Upon reaching Maxine, Victoria swiftly approached the metal door locker. Her fingers naturally gliding across the cold surface. She easily entered the familiar lock combination—a secret dance of numbers known only to her—and with a satisfying click, the lock released its grip on her hidden treasures. As she opened the door, a sigh of relief escaped her lips, revealing her exhaustion.

"What the hell happened to you three?" Maxine blurted out, her voice cracking with fear and concern. She took a step closer, reaching out to touch Victoria's bruised cheek, but hesitating at the last moment. The girls exchanged solemn glances before Victoria finally spoke.

"I don't want to talk about it Maxine. My main focus right now is to just find my cellphone and get my revenge on that slimy slut!" Victoria's eyes blazed with anger as she clutched her locker door tightly.

Courtney and Taylor remained silent, their heads bowed as if in shame but still held some anger back. Maxine knew that something terrible must have happened for them to look like this. She placed a comforting hand on Victoria's shoulder, feeling the stiffness in her body.

"Who? What slut? Should I go get help? Victoria, what the heck happened please tell me!" Maxine's voice was filled with worry and confusion. She gently squeezed her friend's shoulder, her fingers trembling slightly.

Victoria looked at Maxine with sad eyes, knowing that she couldn't keep this secret from her best friend any longer. She took a slowly exhaled before beginning her story. "Okay you really want to know? Fine, I'll tell you. I have been searching all morning for my cellphone and long story short there was a big brawl that happened in the girls dorm today. I know that bitch Rachel Amber hid my phone somewhere. I'm done playing nice It's war with her and anybody who sides with that slut.

"Are you sure? I mean, I know she's a bit rough around the edges and is a wild card..." Maxine trailed off, unsure how to proceed. Witnessing first hand the nature of Victoria's injuries made her wonder if it was worth it to confront Rachel. She looked at Courtney and Taylor, hoping for some sort of guidance from them. They both nodded slowly, encouraging her to continue.

"Yes I'm sure! So you don't believe your best friend, is that it Maxine? Ever since you came to Blackwell you've changed," Victoria retorted, her tone switching over to hurt. Maxine felt a sting in her heart at the accusation but knew it wasn't the time to argue. "You don't reply to my text fast as you used too, always rescheduling us hanging out, stuck in the clouds when people talk to you. What is going on? Why don't you tell me?"

Maxine felt her face flush with shame. She knew Victoria was right; she had been distracted lately. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to push you away. I've just been... I don't know, I've been feeling overwhelmed, I guess. I'm sorry for not being there for you the way I should be."

"It's fine Maxine. Just please tell me when you're ready to talk about it. I hate not being apart of your life anymore. We can get through this together, just like we always do." Victoria hugged Maxine tightly, and for a moment they both felt like everything was going to be okay. But they knew that something had changed between them. Something that they would have to work on fixing if they wanted their friendship to survive.

The two slowly pulled away from their embrace, and Victoria's eyes scanned Maxine's face, searching for any sign of the old Maxine she knew and loved. Seeing the genuine remorse and concern in her eyes, Victoria felt a tiny spark of hope. "Okay, okay, enough of this touchy-feely crap Caulfield before you make me cry. Let's just focus on getting my phone back, alright?

Maxine nodded, her heart still heavy with guilt and regret. She watched as Victoria shut her locker door with a loud clang, turning to face her once more. "I'm serious though, I want that bitch to pay for what she did to us. If Rachel thinks she can just walk away from this unscathed, then she's got another thing coming."

"I'm going to take Taylor to the nurse and see if she can get patched up real quick. Who knows what Principal Wells would do if he saw her looking like this. Just text me once you find your phone Victoria," Courtney spoke up, concern etched into her voice. "And if you can't find it, we'll all search together around lunch time." She gave a reassuring smile before leading Taylor away.

And so, Victoria and Maxine stood together in the hallway, their eyes scanning the buzzing crowd of students as they made their way to their respective classrooms at Blackwell Academy. The sound of laughter and chatter filled the air, temporarily drowning out the urgency that weighed heavily on their minds.

Once the halls cleared out and the last student disappeared behind a classroom door, Victoria and Maxine began walking together side by side, their steps echoing in the now deserted corridor. Halloween was upon them, and they both knew for a fact that they couldn't spend the entire day with such a heavy burden cast upon their shoulders. Their paramount objective was simple: to retrieve Victoria's lost phone.

"So, you really think Rachel did this to you?" Maxine said, her voice wavering slightly. They continued to walk down the hallway, the silence between them heavy and uncomfortable. "I mean, she's always been mysterious and...different, but I never thought she'd go this far,"

Victoria sighed, rubbing her temple where a throbbing pain had started. "I don't know Maxine, me and her have some, bad history together. The kind that isn't worth mentioning at all. The point is, I hate Rachel and she hates me and would do anything to make my life miserable." She paused, glancing at her friend before continuing. "Anyways enough about that, let's just focus on finding my phone. We should start searching around here, she could have hidden it anywhere."

"Wait, I have an idea. I'll try calling it." Maxine pulled out her phone and quickly dialed Victoria's number, hoping that the phone was just misplaced somewhere. But as the phone continued to ring, their hearts sank deeper.

Discouraged and disheartened, they refused to give up on the search for Victoria's missing phone. Motivated to recover it, they tirelessly made endless attempts, dialing her number repeatedly while scouring through every nook and cranny of the school building.

The library, cafeteria, gymnasium, even the bathrooms – nothing was off-limits in their quest to find the elusive device. With each passing minute, their frustration grew exponentially. They meticulously peeked into lockers, searched under desks, and relentlessly checked behind bookshelves, desperately hoping to catch a glimpse of the cherished smartphone. Despite their utmost efforts, time seemed to stand still as the phone remained stubbornly out of reach. It was as if fate itself conspired against them. Amidst their arduous search, Courtney and Taylor, Victoria's two steadfast friends, provided much-needed support through encouraging text messages. With unwavering loyalty, they reached out consistently to inquire if any progress had been made.

When lunch bell chimed, signaling a temporary reprieve, neither of them possessed even a hint of an appetite. Their minds were fixated solely on the mission at hand, consumed by the singular goal of recovering Victoria's phone and ensuring Rachel faced the consequences for her treachery, It was a never ending struggle for them.

Undeterred by their mounting exhaustion, they soldiered on, exhausting every conceivable avenue they could imagine. Faced with dwindling options, they resorted to discreetly questioning their classmates about any potential sightings or suspicious behavior. No stone was left unturned in their relentless pursuit.

Notwithstanding their tireless endeavors, their search yielded no tangible results. The phone seemed to have vanished without a trace, leaving them disheartened and deflated. The realization finally set in that locating Victoria's phone would not be an easy task. It was a crushing blow, one that weighed heavily on their hearts.

As the day wore on, an indescribable heaviness settled upon them. The weight of their predicament became an insurmountable burden, suffocating their spirits.

In defeat, they retreated to distant corners of the school, engulfed by an oppressive silence as they grappled with the harrowing notion that Victoria's beloved phone may be forever lost.

"That's it I'm never going to get my phone back." Victoria's voice cracked as she slumped against the cold, unforgiving lockers. Her hands balled into fists, nails digging into the tender skin of her palms.

Maxine winced, unable to hide the concern etched into her features. She reached out to comfort her friend, but Victoria shrugged her off, unwilling to accept any form of solace. "We will find it. Don't give up Victoria you always taught me to fight for what I believe in, right? I mean we can keep trying, can't we? There has to be something we can do, some clue we're missing."

"Wait, a clue?" Victoria's eyes lit up as if a spark had been ignited. She looked at Maxine with renewed hope. "You're right, I think Rachel did give me a clue back when I was in her room…" She closed her eyes, trying to recall the events of that fateful morning. Her memory was hazy, but she could picture Rachel's smirk giving her a somewhat of a clear hint. "I told her I would go to Principal Well's office if I don't get my cellphone back and I instinctively remember Rachel saying 'While you there, you may just find what you're looking for.'"

"That's it! That's got to be it!" Maxine exclaimed, her excitement growing. "We should go to the principal's office right now and see if we can find anything!" She grabbed Victoria's arm, ready to resume their search.

Victoria agreed, her own adrenaline now pumping through her veins. "Let's do it, Caulfield. Let's get my phone back." She straightened her posture, steeling herself for the confrontation that lay ahead. The two girls made their way through the labyrinthine halls of Blackwell Academy, their will power burning bright despite the weight of exhaustion pulling at their limbs.

Rushing effortlessly at great speed, the duo made it to Principal Wells's office almost instantaneously giving that there wasn't any students at the time blocking their way. Fortunately for them, not only was the door wide open, but neither David Madsen nor Principal Wells was there, which meant the search had not failed yet. Victoria entered the room first, her steps silent on the polished floor, with Maxine nervously following behind.

She began searching everywhere for the missing cellphone, her movements quick and precise, while Maxine stood by the door, her body tense, her eyes darting back and forth, making sure nobody was coming. The office was dimly lit, the only source of light was from the window, casting long shadows across the room. Papers were scattered on the desk, the air heavy with the scent of old books and polished wood.

"Any luck Vee?" Maxine whispered, watching her friend rifle through papers on the desk. Victoria shot her a warning glare, gesturing for her to keep her voice down.

"No, try calling it again." Victoria whispered back, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of her phone. Maxine took out her own mobile device and dialed Victoria's number, holding it up in the air.

The familiar ringtone echoed through the room, its melodic tones wrapping around the walls and weaving their way into Victoria's consciousness. With each passing second, the sound grew louder and louder, guiding her relentlessly towards its source.

Curiosity sparked within Victoria as she followed the enchanting melody, driving her towards the origin of the captivating music. It led her to an antique cabinet that stood tall and elegant in the corner of the room. Without hesitation, she dropped gracefully to her knees and delicately opened the cabinet doors. The doors swung wide open, a wave of ethereal music spilled out, filling the room with a mesmerizing symphony that seemed to transcend time itself. Victoria found herself captivated by the enchanting melodies that danced through the air, pulling her further into their alluring embrace.

Harmonious music played out loudly in the room, Victoria could hear her cellphone calling out to her.

Maxine, her loyal companion and tireless partner, continued to call on her cellphone. Though tempted to lose herself in the enchanting melodies, Victoria's dedication to their shared task pushed her forward.

She began to shift books and trinkets aside in search of her precious device. Each movement was deliberate, as though she was unearthing a hidden treasure buried within the complex depths of the cabinet.

In the tiresome battle of searching and fumbling amongst forgotten belongings, Victoria's fingers brushed against cold metal. Her heart leaped with joy as she retrieved her cellphone from its hiding place. Clasping it tightly within her hands, she felt an overwhelming surge of relief wash over her.

Victoria kissed her beloved device tenderly, holding it close as if cradling a newborn baby in her arms. The weight of their arduous task lifted from her shoulders, replaced by a profound sense of accomplishment and completion. Maxine, standing at the door, released a sigh of relief, her weariness dissipating as the knowledge of their successful quest settled upon her.

"I'm really happy you got your phone Victoria but can we like, go? Who knows when Principal Wells will come back." Maxine asked, her tone a mix of concern and urgency. She glanced at the cabinet, then back to Victoria, hoping her friend would understand.

"Okay, okay, let's get out of here before we get caught." Victoria nodded, slipping her phone back into her pocket. She placed everything back inside and stood up, brushing off her knees, and glanced at the cabinet one last time before turning to leave the room.

Their escape was swift and silent, their hearts pounding in their chests as they hurried down the hallway. As Victoria and Maxine rounded the corner, they could see the double doors leading to the outside world looming ahead. With a final burst of energy, they sprinted toward freedom. The cool air of the spring evening caressed their faces as they emerged from the school, the warm sunlight a welcome relief after the oppressive halls they had just left behind. They paused for a moment, catching their breath and taking in the familiar sights and sounds of Blackwell Academy's quiet campus.

"Wow, I can't believe we actually did it. I thought we were both going to get expelled for sure," Maxine said, still a bit shaken by the events of the day.

"Well, we didn't, so let's just enjoy this moment of our Maximum Victory," Victoria replied, holding up her phone triumphantly. They both let out a laugh, feeling a sense of relief and accomplishment wash over them.

Hours flew by quickly and in the blink of an eye, the school day came to an end. Students, as always, flooded out of the double doors - some going home and others staying behind for after-school activities. Among them were Victoria and Maxine, who had missed nearly half of their classes due to a missing cellphone.

Regardless of the academic setback, they both believed it was worth it even if it may lead to suspension.

Exiting the school premises, Victoria and Maxine walked side by side, embracing the gentle touch of the wind and the peaceful warmth of the sun on their skin.

Beneath her seemingly carefree exterior, Maxine carried a heavy heart. Not only was she saddened by the circumstances that Rachel had put her friends through, but there was another reason for her melancholy - Chloe had been absent throughout the entire day.

Normally, Maxine would catch a glimpse of Chloe, the rebellious girl who could often be found in the vicinity, either chatting with her stoner friends or observing from a distance. Strange as it may sound, this sight would fill Maxine with excitement, knowing that someone she found intriguing was watching her in return.

But today was different. Chloe hadn't shown up at all, and it left Maxine feeling down. All she wanted to do was call Chloe and apologize for pushing her away. However, deep down, Maxine knew that they needed this separation in order to grow as individuals.

After all, they had only known each other for a brief period of time before confessing their feelings. Maxine wanted their connection to be perfect, not rushed, so they wouldn't have any regrets later on.

Nevertheless, Chloe Price held a special place in Maxine's heart, whether they remained friends or became something more. She would always be a top priority, second only to Victoria, who occupied a separate category altogether. Overwhelmed by emotions, Maxine fought hard to suppress them.

She walked down the stairs alongside Victoria and found solace under a nearby tree, while waiting for Taylor and Courtney to join them before heading home the two continued their discussion about the risks of seeking revenge against the great Rachel Amber.

"Seriously though Victoria, I don't think you should plan out your revenge again Rachel, it's not worth it." Maxine said, trying to reason with her friend. "We don't want to get in trouble or make things worse for ourselves."

"You're right, Caulfield. We should focus on our studies and getting into the best universities possible so we can prosper further in life. After all, that's what we're here for, right?" Victoria replied, her tone slightly sarcastic.

Maxine rolled her eyes, knowing that Victoria would never give up on her quest for revenge. She sighed, resigned to the fact that her friend would always be a bit of a hothead. "Fine, fine. But I'm not getting in it, no way. Just know that Rachel seems like the type to go back and forth with you once you try to ruin her life."

"I can't stand her…" Victoria said, her face twisted in anger. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. "Rachel started it, and I plan on ending it. Everything about her irritates me to my very core. I just need to find the right opportunity, the perfect moment to strike back. And when I do... it'll be glorious." Her voice trailed off, her gaze distant as she envisioned the revenge she had been planning for so long.

Maxine knew that arguing with Victoria about Rachel was futile. Instead, she decided to change the subject. "Hey, you know what? We should go somewhere for Halloween this afternoon just you, me, Taylor and Courtney." She smiled, trying to lighten the mood.

"Or, we can go to Hayden's Halloween party instead. And since we're part of the Vortex Club we can get in no problems, everyone is going to be there." Victoria smiled wickedly. The party made news quickly and was the hottest ticket in town, and she couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement at the thought of attending.

"Well, that does sound pretty cool." Maxine admitted, her curiosity piqued. She hadn't been invited to any of the Vortex Club parties before, and she was a bit nervous about going. But at the same time, she didn't want to miss out on all the fun. She glanced over at Victoria, trying to gauge her friend's reaction.

Victoria grinned, taking Maxine's hesitation as a sign of interest. "Yeah, it's going to be awesome. You know Hayden always throws the best parties. It's going to be packed with people, music, and plenty of booze. And who knows? Maybe we'll even run into some cute guys to dance with." She winked, nudging Maxine playfully.

"W-will C-Chloe Price be at the party? Like, it's whatever, I don't care or anything just wondering." Maxine blurted out, her face turning beet red.

Victoria raised an eyebrow, confused by Maxine's sudden interest in Chloe. "Price? Ew, gross. I hope not, the last thing we need at the party is more trash to pick up. Out of all people, why her?" She glanced at her friend, curious as to the reason behind her question.

"Well... she's just... I don't know. She's pretty cool to me, I guess. And I just wanted to see what she's up to these days." Maxine bit her lip, feeling a little self-conscious. "I mean, It feels so strange Vee. Something about her makes me happy, you know? It feels like we are connected somehow rather it be this timeline or an alternate universe I see mutiple versions of us."

"You need to stop hanging around with that wimpy kid Warren. He's giving you these scientific ideas that are making you see things that aren't there," Victoria scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Chloe Price is just another troubled delinquent girl who's got no functioning job, gross, and a loser. Same with Rachel but at least she wears her disgrace with pride. You're better than that."

Letting out a frustrated sigh, Maxine gazed at the distant horizon. The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the trees. She felt the familiar pull of the unseen forces around her, the energy that seemed to hum in the air. Victoria stood beside her, looking out at the same view, but Maxine knew she would never truly comprehend. It wasn't about hallucinations or bizarre scientific theories to Maxine. It was about connection, about feeling the universe in a way Victoria couldn't grasp. But how could she explain that to her friend? How could she explain that her and Chloe has this type of energy that nobody had but them? Some things had to be experienced to be understood.

Their conversation was abruptly cut off by the sound of approaching footsteps. Maxine turned to see Courtney and Taylor walking towards them, their combine voiced blending with the rustling leaves. Victoria glanced at Maxine, a knowing look passing between them before they joined their friends, the chatter of the group mingling with the fading sunlight.

"Finally, what took you two so long? I want to be early at Hayden's party before it gets too crowded. We're all going shopping pronto. Maxine, me and you are going to have matching costumes. Taylor, you do the same with Courtney." Victoria instructed, already leading the group away from the tree they had been sitting at.

As they walked to Blackwell's parking lot, Maxine found herself following along, lost in thought. The magnificent autumn leaves gently rustled beneath her feet, creating a soothing melody that almost lulled her into a dreamy state. But there was something that kept tugging at her attention, something beyond the ordinary.

The energy around her seemed to pulse, like a mystical force that drew her gaze away from the mundane conversation about outfits and makeup. Little did her friends know that there was a whole world hidden beneath the surface of their daily lives, a world Maxine was more attuned to than she wished to admit.

By the time they reached the almost empty parking lot, Victoria, Maxine, Taylor, and Courtney were already gone in the car headed towards the sprawling mall. Victoria's vehicle zipped through the quiet streets, the wind whipping through open windows, carrying with it a set of endless excitement. The neon lights of the mall sparkled in the distance, beckoning them closer now on a brand new search to find the perfect costume.
