Operation Sealion

November 1942
Saratov, Soviet Union

In a village several kilometers outside of Saratov, a mother and her four children are in their home. As the children play outside and the mother does laundry outside, she reminisces of her time in Stalingrad. Rural life wasn't much for her since she has already gotten accustomed to living in the city but she digresses. She and her family are lucky enough though. Her father is a high-ranking officer in the Red Army and her husband is a Major fighting in Stalingrad. Though he climbed up the ranks due to several of the officers either being dismissed by Stalin, she is grateful for the life she has. She looks up to see her children playing. One of them, her eldest, a seven-year-old, falls to the ground. The young boy begins to cry.

"Oh no! Fedor!" The mother cries out. She rushes over to her child and helps him up. "Are you alright? Be careful when you're playing with your brother and sister ok."

"Okay, mama," Fedor responded.

"And wipe your tears. You are soon to be a man in the future. I want you to be aware of that. So that one day you can grow up to be like your father Numa. Got it."

"I understand mama."

The mother, Ivana Sokolov, chuckles. She pats his black and dark blonde hair. "Good," In the distance, she can hear a truck passing by the village, the truck stops just before the wooden gate. From the truck, two Red Army officers with Soviet M35 tunics and peaked caps walk up to Ivana.

"Are you Ivana Sokolov? Wife of Major. Numa Seika Sokolov." The officer asks.

Ivana turns to Fedor. "Get your brother and sister and take them inside of the house. Go now." Ivana tells Fedor. "Go, now!" Ivana orders Fedor. He goes and grabs his brother and sister and all three children enter the home. She looks back at the two Red Army officers. "I am Ivana Sokolov. What happened?"

The Red Army officer, without saying anything reaches into his pocket and grabs a telegram. He gives the telegram to Ivana and tears slowly begin to develop in her eyes. "It is with the deepest regret that your husband, Major. Numa Seika Sokolov was killed in battle. He gave his life not only for your survival but of the preservation of the Soviet Union and for communism." The two Red Army officers turn around and leave back to their truck, giving the cold news to Ivana. Ivana collapses onto the ground and begins to break down in tears. In the house, Fedor looks out of the window to see his mother reduced to tears. He doesn't understand why she's crying but he can sense that something went terrible.

In the truck, the two officers converse. "Do you think we should've told her how he was founded?" The driver asks.

"No. It was bad enough that he died. Even worse is the complete and utter nude state he was left in by the Ice Witch when his body was sent back to us. So it would be best to spare her the details of his death and better to tell her that he simply died with honor. Nothing more, nothing less." The Red Army officer responded. "Now come on. We got several more telegrams to deliver in person." The two continue to drive off, having to deliver several telegrams

1942

The world falls into three theaters of the war. In the Pacific theater, the US has begun its attacks on Japanese-controlled islands with the full force of the US military power. Pushing back the Japanese navy, even striking the Japanese capital, Tokyo, with bombs. The first time an enemy attacked Japanese soil since the Mongols. In Burma, the Japanese advanced heavily against the British and British-Indian troops who are stationed to repel back the Japanese threat to Burma.
In China, the Kuomintang, and the Chinese Nationalists begin to make strides against the Japanese army as Japan begins to slow down its advances in China. The Japanese Empire begins to show its cracks in the pacific theater.

With the collapse of Stalingrad and the potential for another German offensive to push onto Moscow, Stalin deploys the reserves to defend the city from possible invasions from the south. Sending in the recently demoted Marshal Zhukov and Marshal Vasilensky, the two begin to reformulate plans to encircle Stalingrad. Though they can't send in two or three armies into the city once more since the Germans help reinforce the Hungarian and Romanian lines. Zhukov decides to press his troops to attack the supply lines coming into Stalingrad. Attacking from the Don front and southern front, the Soviets are able to push back but with reinforced lines, the German Army captures Elista to reinforce further the attack on the Caucasian oilfields. As well as reinforcing for a southern attack, the Soviets deploy necessary manpower to Leningrad, the heart and birthplace of the Russian Revolutions of February and October.

In the North African theater, British, British Colonial Forces, Greek, and Free French Forces launch a campaign in Tunisia against the Germans, Italian, and Vichy French forces in North Africa and in the Middle East. Through Rommel, the Axis forces establish victories and footholds in North Africa but they always encounter the burden of any army, stretched and undefended supply lines. The British and Free French Forces secure the Middle Eastern theater against the Axis forces. But with the victory in Stalingrad, Stalin pressures the British to do just more than just play in the sand with the Axis forces.

For the Italians, with the Eastern Front being secured and the North African front practically at a standstill, Mussolini pushes forward with his plan to diminish the power of organized crime families in Sicily. Through simple bribes to executing entire crime families in Sicily, Mussolini slowly asserts Italian fascistic control over the organized crime families in Sicily. After having lost several major connections in Sicily, Britain calls off an ambitious operation in Sicily, citing its dwindling resources and manpower that they were starting to lose on the European continent. Not only fighting a war against Italy and Germany but also in part against the Japanese through India.

In the European theater, British commando units are sent into Norway with the Norwegian resistance to destroy heavy water facilities to hamper Nazi nuclear development, as well as making an attempt to attack mainland Europe in Dieppe but ending in failure. Tito leads his Yugoslav partisan forces against their German overlords with constant partisans taking place in the Yugoslav territory against the Ustaše government that has taken a foothold in Croatia and their former Chetnik allies who began to slowly collaborate with the Axis pact, hoping that securing the Yugoslav lands would finally put an end to Tito's Partisan forces.

London, United Kingdom
Buckingham Palace

"But father, why are you doing this? We served well for the people of Great Britain. We put our lives on the line for the people in London who were affected by the Blitz," The young princess, Elizabeth, asks her father King George VI. Elizabeth and her sister, Margret, are confused and mad at the actions of their father who wants to send them to their Scottish residence to keep them away from potential dangers, and eventually Canada.

"Listen to me carefully my daughters. I've already set for the two of you to leave London and head to Edinburgh. As of now, it's dangerous for the two of you to be here. I fear that the Germans might actually invade, and I do not want you to be in the crossfire when that happens. What I am doing is for your safety and of the crown. And if worst comes to worst, then you will have to go to Canada. Understood?"

"I understand father, but I do not want to leave here when we have been through much. If we resisted their bombs three years ago then we can certainly withstand them now!"

"I much enjoy your optimism Elizabeth. But what I fear is a lot worse. Though I do not wish to entertain the idea, but the United Kingdom may fall. I still love and cherish you in my heart but this is the final decision that I will make that is for the safety of not only the crown but the two of you. If you live, then the crown lives. If you remain alive then that means there is a glimmer of hope that will remain bright enough for the people of Britain and of the empire to rise up once again and weather out the storm of darkness that affects the continent. Alright."

"Yes, father." Elizabeth and Margret respond. Elizabeth looks down in defeat. Princess Elizabeth, the heiress to the British Crown, the daughter of King George VI remains silent as her father knows that he wants to protect her.

"Good, I am delegated that you understand the dire situation. As I have said before, you are to head to Edinburgh. But if worse comes to worst, then you are to go to Canada followed by the crown and the government. Now, the two of you must go now." King George VI dismisses his two daughters as they leave to head outside for a black taxi ready to take the young princesses. They soon depart for Edinburgh, stopping in several cities to rest. As they leave London they see parts of the city are still in damage but for the most part, they're reconstructing. Along with the two princesses are the crown jewels of the British monarchy that controls a large empire, a few raven mating pairs from the Tower of London in order to guard the future of the crown, and other necessary attendees along with Prince Phillip of Greece and Denmark. Though of all of them, the most important are the royal family and the crown jewels.

12-19, August 1943

Operation Sealion begins to be set in motion. The Kriegsmarine and the Italian Royal Navy begin to set forth the operation. Leading several British Royal Navy flotillas away from Britain and into Spanish waters, heading for the Mediterranian. This maneuver has only left a handful of ships to protect the United Kingdom.

Soon a couple of days pass by as several more ships begin to depart from British waters, receiving news about a major counter-offensive in North Africa by Rommel. Fearing that it may happen and Turing's team absolutely being sure that a German attack would happen in Tunisia, a British force is deployed to reinforce North Africa.

On the 17th of August, Luftwaffe bombs begin to rain down over London and other south British cities in Britain. The RAF scrambles to counteract the Luftwaffe, making several victories in the air. Though it's different, the number of Luftwaffe planes is smaller than before, reasonable since many are dedicated to the Eastern Front. But this time the Luftwaffe makes sure to target key cities and routes in Britain, but it is certain, that Britain may be attacked.

On the night of the 19th of August, the Luftwaffe begins to send in their own soldiers from the skies, Fallschrimjägers. They begin to conduct their own operations of sabotage and interception in the south of England in preparation for the main phase of Operation Sealion.

19 August 1943
Calais, Occupied France

After months of planning, recruitment, and delays, Esdeath stands ready in the port that looks over the English Channel. She can breathe and almost taste the upcoming operation and how many battles it would bring her. Despite facing several attacks from the Eastern Front, Esdeath has been able to stabilize the Eastern Front and stopped a possible pincer move from the north of Stalingrad. Though Esdeath is proud of her short work against the Soviets, she senses the ire of men of the Wehrmacht whom she called compatriots: Paulus, Guderian, Manstein, Kleist, etc. All of them seek glory but felt as if they're being frozen in place by Esdeath's successes. But she can also sense that several of the Prussian generals, many of whom came from Prussian military lineages spanning three generations, are beginning to lose hope in a sense with Hitler and some of his high command. She hopes that Göring, a Prussian general himself with conservative leanings, would at least keep them entertained and at least keep daggers away from her back.

Esdeath looks out to the British Channel to see her potential enemy, reading herself to fight them on their own territory. She hasn't spent the time before the operation idling either. Having spent months not only recruiting the best soldiers of the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS to join her Waffen-SS division but also refining her leadership skills and the skills of her Imperial Arms. She is certain that almost everyone in the world has learned of her powers, but she sees this as a good opportunity to summon forth warriors that are not like her current time period but of her old. Perhaps as a way to capture the attention of other possible Imperial Arms users of her old world.
Since the planning phases of Operation Sealion, Esdeath had raised from a mere regiment to a full division size for the 9th SS Panzergrenadier Eis Division. Raising over 5,000 soldiers with 15,000 in reserve, to her all the preparations are ready on her end, she just hopes the British would give her a better fight than before in 1940.

"SS-Obersturmbannführerin Partas." Admiral Dönitz calls out to Esdeath. Having replaced his predecessor, Grand Admiral Erich Raeder, who resigned from his post failing to inform Hitler about the results of the Battle of the Barents Sea. Causing the plan to be pushed back by two months from its set date in June 1943 as the new Grand Admiral Dönitz set his own ideas that work in tandem with Speer and Göring's ideas.

"Yes, Grand Admiral?" Esdeath turns to Dönitz.

"Today is a good day for an invasion. Semi-clear skies. The Fallschrimjägers have already made their attack hours ago. All that need is your division as well as the Army Group C to attack Lyme Regis. Army Group A attacking Ramsgate to Portsmouth." Dönitz responded. "After that, I expect Herr Speer has finished with his V2 rocket program to be used on any coastline artilleries."

"I'm sure it would work. After all, we don't need to win the seas or the skies. If we can simply reach London and stop before Cambridge. Then we will win," Esdeath reminded the Grand Admiral. "But with my Imperial Arms, I believe we can make short work of the operation."

"Well then, I can't wait to see what the Ice Officer has to offer. Because after today would be the day that the sun would set on the British Empire once and for all."

Esdeath merely chuckles. "Well then. After the Heer attacks, it would be my turn. Now then Grand Admiral, prepare your ships as today, the British lion will be tamed."

20 August 1943
Dover, United Kingdom
0550

"Oi, wake up." A British private tells his superior, a lance corporal. Awaking him up from his sleep resting next to the 14-inch coastal gun overlooking the cliffs of Dover.

"Nuh?" The lance corporal wakes up dazed.

"Wake up. Care for some Breakfast tea?" The private asks.

"Sure. Thanks. Any milk and sugar?" The lance corporal yawns. Having been woken up from his post. With Fallschrimjäger attacks and sabataoge. The Army has been placed under high alert in order to stem any German attack. Sleep has once again become a luxury only the very few can afford.

"Unfortunately not." The private responded knowing well that sugar and milk have been strictly rationed as well as any other food items. As the two begin to sip their early morning tea, the warning bells begin to ring throughout the entire fortification work.

"Alright, boys. Get a move on! Go go! Man your stations! The Germans are coming!" Several British officers begin to shout out orders all throughout the defensive works as German ships appear over the horizon. The Kriegsmarine ships begin to open fire at the fortifications destroying a couple of coastal batteries while other Kriegsmarine ships are fired upon themselves.

0600

After ten minutes of bombardment, the next phase begins. A thick cloud begins to appear from the Kriegsmarine ships. Many are confused about its implications, but then they begin to see something unusual about the weather. Snow begins to fall down in the middle of August. Many have heard about the exploits of the Ice-Woman from French survivors, dubbing her the Ice Witch by the French and soon themselves. They now know that the Ice Witch has now appeared on British shores. Though before they disregarded her as only a rumor, but now as they see an icy fog slowly appear they begin to have second thoughts. But they still remain steadfast, ready for any German attack.

As the British defenders prepare themselves, a warning cry was let out.

"BLOODY HELL! WATCH OUT!" One of the British soldiers cried out as several large ice spikes strike the bunkers, originating from the ships. They can't deny it any longer, it's Esdeath. The British private gets up from the ground and sees that it's no naval shell, it's an ice round. "Dear God. I thought I was-" Before the Private can finish, the ice spike explodes destroying the bunker. The same is done throughout.

In the ships, Esdeath begins to laugh. "Now, time to make it easier for our troops to land. Grauhorn!" Esdeath unleashes Grauhorn. Several large ice spikes raise out of the water, striking the cliffs of Dover. This move now creates a good path to climb the cliffs.

"Someone destroy that bloody ice now before they can climb it up!" The British Colonel calls out as he sees multiple German ships landing just before the spikes and others landing on the beaches. As the British Colonel gives his orders several gunshots are fired in their direction. Tens of German Heer soldiers begin to scale the ice and the cliffs of Dover. "Attention lads! Do not let fear steal you! Show these Jerries who we are! For we are British! Push them back from our native British land and water!" The Colonel draws his pistol. "Drive these Germans back to the sea! For God and for King and Country!" The British Colonel gives the order to attack as the British defenders begin to open fire at the encroaching Germans.

Once the word has been reached about the attacks at Dover and other locations, British RAF pilots begin to amass in their planes and take to the skies. Several squadrons have reached Dover to witness an unusual sight. Three to five large spikes made of ice have allowed for the Wehrmacht Heer to attack, circumnavigating the cliff. As many begin to make their attack, they're intercepted not only by AA fire but also by Luftwaffe and ice spikes originating from the ships.

After an hour of bloody fighting, the 9th SS Panzergrenadier Eis Division was able to scale the Graunhorn Esdeath created for her soldiers, as so did the Wehrmacht's 9th Army. The two groups made it to their landmark objectives. Esdeath's division is able to set up a beachhead in Dover with successful reports of other beaches in Ramsgate, Bexhill, and Folkestone being successfully taken with moderate resistance. British, Canadian, and Colonial troops, have received new orders from their commanders, England Under Attack. With this simple code phrase, the worst has come that Britain is under attack. As a result, British, Canadian, and Colonial divisions begin to mobilize into Bristol, Cantebury, and Crawley in order to halt the German advance.
Four British, three Canadian, and two ANZAC divisions begin to push forward against the Germans, making an offensive line.

Esdeath is proud, to say the least. The first phases of Operation Sealion was complete and they have taken Dover as well as surrounding villages and towns. Rounding up British soldiers who've surrendered. Esdeath is now proven that the British resolve to fight for their island home, but a bit disappointed that many surrendered or able to fall back. Though Esdeath wishes to torture or "play" with the surrendered British soldiers, she nonetheless holds off that thought and doesn't let it manifest. As Hitler's orders were clear, take London and do not stop for prisoners.

"SS-Obersturmbannführerin Partas," An SS-Sturmbannführer calls out to Esdeath. "We've received reports about a division of British forces making their way to Canterbury. Should we wait here till the majority of our reinforcements arrive?" The SS-Sturmbannführer asks Esdeath.

"No. It will impede on the speed at which we'll reach London. Send them right away and make them go to the city of Canterbury, those who remain here are to march onto Canterbury. We will take out the British garrison there. We will unite with remaining Fallschirmjäger detachments there." Esdeath orders the SS-Sturmbannführer. "Soon at this rate, London will be brought to her knees very soon. I am expecting a bloody battle for that to happen."

"What about the soldiers who surrendered, SS-Obersturmbannführerin?" The SS-Sturmbannführer asks.

"Our main objective is to take London, not prisoners. We shall stop at Canterbury in order to gain a forward position and allow our resources and reinforcement time to get to us. Once that is complete, London will be taken. Prisoners will not be taken alive. Give the execute them all." Esdeath orders the SS-Sturmbannführer.

"But, SS-Obersturmbannführerin Partas. Wouldn't it be better to take them as-"

"Did I stutter SS-Sturmbannführer or do I hear hesitation?" Esdeath interrupts the SS-Sturmbannführer. "I said execute them." She said with a much sterner and clear voice.

"Understood, SS-Obersturmbannführerin." The SS-Sturmbannführer hesitantly responded. He turns around and goes to give the order to execute the British POWs. First and foremost, the British people are seen just as Aryan as the Germans are, though a rank lower than the Germans but equal to the French. Yet, to give the order to execute them, it would be better for the Germans to keep them alive and be seen as liberators of the "European and Aryan Race from corrupt Jewish hands", not murders. The SS-Sturmbannführer knew this well, but he knew what he signed up for when he joined the Eis Division. He'd seen massacres similar to this on the Eastern Front, but this is different.
Soon the British POWs of Dover are rounded up into one area and the execution order was given out. The junior and company officers are confused aswell, but her orders are still orders to be followed. Though conflicted, the men of the Eis Divison, as well as surrounding Wehrmacht forces, begin to execute the remaining British POWs.

Quebec, Canada
Quebec city

On the early night of August 20th Quebec. Prime Minister Churchill of Britain sleeps in his bed. But then he is rudely awakened. Though he complains for a moment he is then given the most terrible news, Britain is under a full-scale invasion by the Nazis while he is away for the First Quebec Conference. Now, Churchill begins to make his preparations to arrive back on British shores, the conference itself has now to be put on hold until the Nazi threat can be removed from British soil. Soon, news of the invasion reaches Roosevelt's ear. He wishes to send the Army to support them, but many of the US ships are off fighting against Japan, winning several battles. Roosevelt seeks to find a way to support his British ally, but congress may not hear it and still pursue the war against Japan.
Soon, before the early morning hours, Churchill leaves Canada, heading straight back into the fight against Germany.
