Die Neuordnung
Part I

1945

When the war had ended the troubles for the Reich begins to show.

Hitler's own personal closest ally, Rudolf Hess, who have been working together since before the Beer Hall Putsch until his departure to make peace with Britain in 1941, was finally caught when Britain had fallen. After being in a cell for over two years he is let out by Hitler personally, but it's not the same Hitler Hess remembers. He's different and he has changed in attitude. Hess was told about what has happened since the July plot was foiled and several Heer generals, officers, and civilians were arrested. Hitler offers Hess a choice. Either face trial, of which it would not be in his favor, or take his own life by taking a cyanide capsule.
After some time, seeing how his Führer can't be reasoned with anymore, Rudolf Hess decides to take his own life. At the very least, he would be given a private funeral only open for Hitler, the inner circle, and Hess' family.

In the months after the war, the Greater Germanic Reich has begun to accept back a few of the exiled governments, given that they accept a constant German military presence in their lands. Britain has done so already, with King Edward VIII and his prime minister being forced to relinquish control of Cornwall for the next fifteen years in order to establish a military garrison for the Wehrmacht and to help reconstruct England and Britain. In reality, it's used to put down civil uprisings throughout Britain and establish a quick response force should the King decide to rebel. With King Edward hoping for his reign to be akin to the Reich's, he does what is possible to facilitate unity within his fracturing nation, leading to his citizens seeing him more as a puppet of Hitler than an actual king.

He'd already replaced Scottish and Welsh parliaments with those of his newly formed royalist party, but even they turned their backs on him. Finally being forced to accept the Scottish and Welsh referendum of independence from the United Kingdom. Now all that is left is England and its unpopular king. Even then, the new Republic of Scotland, and the Republic of Wales, have to accept the reality: The Greater Germanic Reich is nearby and is now the dominant force in all of Europe.

With the United Kingdom broken, the last vestiges of the former Empire remain with King George VI and his family in the Dominion of Canada.

The Vichy French State begins to crack down on the remaining cells of Free France and communist partisans, cementing Petain's rule over the country. But like in England, many see him as an inefficient, corrupt, and tyrannical figure.
Free France, under General DeGaulle, begin to set up its bases of operations in the colonies of Mali, Algeria, and the Ivory Coast, in order to drive up manpower and resources to the colonies they began opening up recruitment opportunities for native Africans and Arabs to free themselves from the new French system. Though several of the higher officials wish to keep the African Colonies in Republican French control, De Gaulle and others saw the practicality the natives can offer in redirecting resources and manpower from Vichy France to Africa. Perhaps even recruiting Vichy French soldiers into Free France.

The Danish and Norwegian government-in-exile is allowed to return back to Denmark on the condition that it accepts the current German state and is willing to join in an alliance between the Kingdom of Denmark, the Kingdom of Norway, and the Greater Germanic Reich. The same has been done with the Netherlands, but instead, they see a greater acceptance of national socialism in order to survive but not the Germanization programs.
The Greater Germanic Reich begins to expand the Reichhskommissariat system to include: Reichskommissariat Belgien-Nordfrankreich, Reichskommissariat Niederlande, and Reichskommissariat Norwegen, in western Europe. Eastern Europe includes: Reichskommissariat Ostland, Reichskommissariat Ukraine, and Reichskommissariat Russland. Effectively cementing national socialist control in all of Europe.

As the United States has mostly stayed out of the war in Europe, except when they've sent troops to aid the United Kingdom. The US begins to see that their power base on the world stage might be under threat by the Greater Germanic Reich.

1946

Being the only superpower nation in Western Europe, the Greater Germanic Reich begins to negotiate with its client states in its vicinity.
The French State, also known as Vichy France, would keep its colonies in Indochina and North Africa, especially Algeria if they gave up parts of their eastern borders with the German Reich and the Italian Empire.
The Italian Empire manages to sustain their Libyan colony and acquired the Kingdoms of Ethiopia, Albania, and Greece, as well as observing over the state of Croatia, allowing the Balkans to rule autonomously but still see Italian and German oversight.

With the world becoming stable once more, the US begins to aid in the reconstruction of Japan's former territories. Creating a sphere of influence in East Asia, away from the problems of Europe. But each of the three remaining superpowers begins to vie for influence over the other. Fighting to establish and retain their power base.

In October, with a few of the European governments-in-exile returned to Europe under the conditions given by the Reich or stayed in the US and the Dominion of Canada. President Harry S. Truman, General Eisenhower, and other leaders come to the creation of a global military alliance against the extremes of Hitler's National Socialism and Stalin's Communism, leading to the creation of the Union of Free Nations, with General Dwight D. Eisenhower appointed to be its head military leader.

The United States becomes the leader of the UFN, and the Dominion of Canada, Australia, and New Zealand followed suit. In New York City, the seat of the Union of Free Nations, President Truman begins to address the first session of the newly formed international pact between all free and democratic nations that suffered through the war. The speech is heard the world over in many parts of the world. The main contents of Truman's war speech is nothing short of the remaining free world working together to support one another politically and militarily against its enemies. Willing to also support groups that have the desire to liberate themselves from their rulers, and funneling support to help stabilize democracies.
Though not specified by either Hitler or Stalin, Hitler and Stalin knew almost immediately that the UFN is a military alliance against them. So, then on the Greater Germanic Reich begins to draft its own plans to counter the UFN and the Soviet Union.

Though the Soviets have been brutally attacked in the war, Stalin begins to foresee possible signs of rebellion and another war with Hitler. Stalin drafted plans to make sure that the Reich would be weakened by communist uprisings and insurgency as well as fostering aid for the Chinese Communist Party and their war against the Kuomintang. Because now his enemies are all around him, both externally and internally.

October 1946
Berlin, Greater Germanic Reich

In the Reichs Chancellory, Esdeath walks through its halls. Ever since the Second World War has ended she hopes that she might be placed into a different assignment that would involve frontline action. But even those roles are mostly all filled up by Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS units, many being placed in counter-partisan and guard duties. The few roles that can be granted to the SS-Gruppenführerin are mostly secretarial and administrative but that won't cut it for her. Yet an opportunity had arisen ever since American president Truman gave his speech to the newly formed Union of Free Nations. To Esdeath Partas, and many in the Reich, this speech was more of a threat by the Americans, swearing revenge to reclaim the old democratic order in Europe with the newly established Union of Free Nations.

Esdeath continues to walk through the hall of the Reichs Chancellory, being let through by Hitler's secretary. She stops before the door to Hitler's office seeing the two Allegemine SS guards, dressed in black military uniforms, black Stahlhelms, with white webbing to contrast, the National Socialist armband on their left arm, and equipped with the Kar 98k.

"Heil Hitler," Esdeath announced, and the guards responded back with the same Heil Hitler. "I believe I have a meeting with the Führer for today," Esdeath tells the two Allegemine guards. The guards moved their rifles from the shoulder arms position to that of the order arms position simultaneously. The two then turned to face each other, opening the door simultaneously, showing Hitler's large office space. The first thing that greets Esdeath is the large banner of the Greater Germanic Reich. Esdeath walks inside and the guards close the doors behind her, returning back to their original positions. As Esdeath walks inside of the large office space she sees Adolf Hitler looking out of the window, his reflection shows a simple smile, the smile of a man who managed to formulate and control the majority of the European continent, controlling the lives of its inhabitants, and ruler of the National Socialist Party that managed to control the European landmass and then some in Africa. "Heil, my Führer," Esdeath greets Hitler, saluting him.

"Ah, heil. SS-Gruppenführerin." Hitler responds, he turns to face Esdeath and directs her to the two chairs in front of his desk. Esdeath takes a seat in one of the chairs and so does Hitler, sitting on his red leather chair.

"What is it that you wish to speak with me about, Führer?" Esdeath asks, removing her cap and placing it on her lap.

Hitler clears his throat. "I'm well assured now that you have heard of that speech by the American President? Turman was it?"

"Yes, I had. Such audacity if you ask me. Who knew that two years ago most of these country bumpkins from the middle of nowhere in the US would be fighting a losing battle in England." Esdeath cracks on the US. She remembers well meeting her first American POWs, both attacking their front and rear lines. She has seen both races, the White and the Black Americans, and see how these men are similar to the French units she faced prior in France. The only difference being is their division of race and skin color and race is deeper than the French. She still treated both men, Black and White, officer and enlisted, the same according to Geneva law as POWs. But if she had it her way, then their wouldn't be any survivors. Even this fearsome reputation the Americans had made for themselves three decades earlier during the Great War paled in comparison to her own.

"I wouldn't exactly call them country bumpkins. Exactly SS-Gruppenführerin," Hitler remarks. "They did manage to wipe out a manageable portion of the Wehrmacht but it was all in vain either way."

"So tell me, my Führer. Then what is the reason you called for me." Esdeath becomes earnest once more. "Would it be that you want me to invade the United States," Esdeath smiles. "If so then I would gladly lead the vanguard. We can even use that speech made by their president as a plausible casus beli," Esdeath spoke with a hint of enthusiasm. "This year-long break has been boring me. Perhaps a little war with the US could bring some excitement for me once more." Esdeath thinks to herself. Hitler simply waved his right hand.

"SS-Gruppenführerin. I am appreciative of the efforts you have done for the German Fatherland. Allowing it to take root in the heart of Europe. But as of now, there would be no invasion of the United States nor its little alliance." Hitler stands up and paces to the window, with Esdeath still sitting turning her upper body to follow Hitler. "I have no doubt of your power, but even you should know when and where to draw the line. The second you, your men, and the might of the Wehrmacht and SS land on American shores then you would be greeted by the sheer tenacity and barbarisms of the US. A land of races mixed together in cities has rendered its society to a sort of tribalism, to say the least."

"Same could be said about the Soviet Union and look how they're faring," Esdeath interjects. Hitler chuckles.

"As of now, we're nowhere near the capacity to attack the mainland US. It could even be a high chance for failure if such operation is launched with a long-term goal in mind." Hitler then turns to face Esdeath and begins to walk closer. "You have done well to expand the Fatherland. As you said yourself, the Soviets are crumbling from the seams as German migrants are expanding to our newly acquired lands. Partisans are now terrified in the Eastern lands by the mere mention of your name, you had garnered a fierce reputation for yourself."

"Well, they don't call me the Ice General for nothing, even if I am not in Wehrmacht. I got so many titles now I pretty much have lost track. Almost a good majority being in Russian." Esdeath remarks. "But I'm not a big fan of the one Herr Goebbels gave to me."

Hitler chuckles. "It was a truly an interesting choice on his end, but as minister of propaganda then what else can he do," Hitler responds. "Either way, you will be well rewarded in the future, SS-Gruppenführerin. All you have to do is simply asks, even if wish for action on the frontline once more." Hitler circles around back to his desk and leans to press a button underneath his desk to alert his guards to open the door. Hitler then stands back up straight. "You are hereby dismissed, SS-Gruppenführerin"

"Thank you, my Führer," Esdeath stands up and proceeded to leave the office, with the doors closing behind her.

Hitler then turns back to the window. "Now then. With the Fatherland's borders being secured, I believe it's time to launch ourselves to compete against the US. Perhaps war may loom once more. Instead of the destiny of the European continent, it's of the world itself."

1947

Once the Union of Free Nations has been established, the Greater Germanic Reich soon unites its territories and governments of Europe and its colonies, establishing the Einheitspakt. With the Greater Germanic Reich leading the Einheitspakt, following suit the French State, Kingdom of England, Serbia, Protectorate of Bohemia and Morovia, the Reichskommissariats of Norwegen, Niederlande, Belgien-Nordfrankreich, Ostland, Ukraine, and Russland. Coalescing as one alliance under German control and influence against the Union of Free Nations to the West and the weakened but still strong Soviet Union to the east.

Other nations, including the Republic of Wales, Scotland, Ireland, the Kingdom of Denmark, and the Kingdom of Sweden, all remained neutral. The Italian Empire initially hesitated because of the increasing German sphere of influence but decided to remain neutral, as did Spain, Portugal, and Turkey.

1948

In the United States, the 1948 elections have become one of the most contested in American history. Due to his sinking popularity, Truman ran on the grounds of the steps he took to end the war with Japan and ensure American security against Nazi and Soviet aggression, but it was all in vain as Truman loses his run for the presidency against his Republican opponent, Thomas Dewey.

1949

With the Chinese Civil War concluding, the two sides, the Chinese Communist Party, under Mao Zedong, succeeds against the Republic of China and the Kuomintang forces. With Soviet support, the Chinese Communist Party takes control of China in the aftermath of the Japanese Empire's collapse. In the wake of their success, and the creations of the Einheitspakt and the Union of Free Nations, the new Peoples Republic of China and the Soviet Union formed their own alliance after the latter attempted to join with the UFN. The two nations form the Global Communist Union a year later.

In the year 1950, the world is now split into three spheres of influence, the Union of Free Nations: is led by the United States, the Einheitspakt: led by the Greater Germanic Reich, and the Global Communist Union: led by the USSR and the PRC. With this three-way stalemate, can peace be achievable?

Author's note:

This is part one of the alternative events happening in this world with the Greater Germanic Reich, the US, USSR, and Esdeath.
Reichskomoissariat Russland: Supposed to be Reichskomissariat Moskowien but Moscow was never captured. If it were then it would be Reochskommissariat Moskowien.
