Greenland
I

30 April 1963
Newfoundland and Labrador
Dominion of Canada

A C-97 Stratofreighter appears from the sun as it begins to descend from the sky preparing for landing on the tarmac of a Canadian Royal Airforce and US Airforce base. The C-97 decreases its velocity as it begins to land on the tarmac. The C-97 lands and begins its taxi to the closest hanger for refueling and repairs to prepare for its major journey over Greenland. Its occupants step out of the plane's passenger hatch on the side, the Night Hunters have landed.
First to step out is the leader of the group (The Captain) Blaut Anderson, sub-leader (Big Sister) Akame, followed by (Pink Flamingo) Mine, (Green Goblin) Lubbock, (Atlantis) Wave, (Necromantress) Kurome, and Tatsumi designated as Incursitor. Each member has been equipped with their respective Imperial Arms to be used in their mission, except for The Captain who chose his M1911, as well as a duffle bag of extra layering of clothes. As the final member steps out of the C-97 a canvas-covered M54 6x6 pulls in front of the hanger's entrance and an American Air Force officer in combat dress uniform steps out of the vehicle.

"Welcome to Goose Air Force Base, in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We're told to expect some tourists, I assume y'all must be it?" The Air Force 2nd Lieutenant greets the Night Hunters' arrival at the American Goose Air Force Base in Canada, a joint base between the two nations. "If you may, please load up on the truck and we'll take you to your quarters." The Air Force officer tells the group. The Night Hunters load up on the M54 as they're then taken to their barracks just outside of the city.

"Did that officer call us tourists?" Tatsumi asks, breaking the silence just as the truck began to drive. Sitting across from Tatsumi, Anderson begins to answer Tatsumi's question wit

"It's because we're wearing clothing outside of official military uniforms in a military base," Anderson responded. "Thusly, agents are unofficially called tourists by servicemen. I know this because I did it before and was good at it." Anderson continued. "You'd have any experiences with undercover Gestapo agents?" Anderson asks Tatsumi.

"No, not that I know of captain. Back when I was with the SS-Gruppenführerin, she made a lot of comments about the SD, Gestapo, and some members of the Abwehr. I think she may have killed a couple of them for harassing her." Tatsumi recounts a few events with Esdeath prior to losing his sanity and consciousness.

"Why would they harass her? Isn't she popular and also powerful?" Mine chimes in.

"I don't know myself exactly," Tatsumi comments, trying to remember a specific conversation with Esdeath about the Reichs security and intelligence services. "She did get passed over advancement, only being left with jobs where it's easy for her to do and be monitored and doesn't upset any of the other generals after her successes." Tatsumi further explains of Esdeath's position in the Reich as a whole, with her position being stifled by the German SS and Wehrmacht officers who want to advance their careers and not be overshadowed by Esdeath's achievements.

"I would've thought Esdeath would be given top positions in that country. Given her status and usage of her Imperial Arms." Lubbock jumps into the conversation. "Hm, I bet you even had good times with her?" Lubbock asks but all could Tatsumi respond with is a soft chuckle that conveys the opposite of what Lubbock was thinking of. The drive ended almost as it had started when the truck had reached its destination, the military base of the entire facility. The Night Hunters step out of the truck and enter the main facility base. They're led inside by the Air Force officer. The base was calm and undisturbed by the Reich invasion of the US and Canada, coupled with the proximity to the Night Hunters targets it was a safe choice for them to make.
The Night Hunters are led inside to an unoccupied meeting room where they will stay for the next few hours until their mission is to begin. As the group is situated, everyone has questions for Tatsumi that even Tatsumi doesn't have the answers for.

"Right then, with everyone here it's time to settle down until our mission is to begin. We'll first go over the specifics of this mission," Anderson stands behind a podium as the other Night Hunters grab a chair from the meeting room. "Since this is Greenland we're talking about, to say that it's cold would be an understatement of the century." Anderson continues. "I doubt even the northernmost regions from where y'all come from couldn't even match the temperature of this Godforsaken island. But I think the Soviet Union has them beat, I don't know." Anderson comments further. Mine raises her hand.

"Just why are we being sent here if it's cold? I doubt the enemy would've taken anything here." Mine asks Anderson.

"Because our dear leaders desire for us to suffer," Anderson joked but no one laughed. "That was a joke. But in seriousness, they took over certain stations that are of importance to us and would give them an advantage not only over us but the Soviet Union," Anderson moved from his podium to the podium and turns it on before turning off the lights, the only light source is that of the projector's light. Anderson walks up to the projector and lays down an image on top of the light. "Listen up all, here is our mission from the CIA." Before Anderson could continue, Wave turns and objected to what is being said before the meeting could continue.

"Wait didn't we already get orders while in the Pentagon?" Wave asks, Anderson points at Wave with a black marker pen.

"Questions at the end, Atlantis," Anderson rebukes Wave. "Indeed we did get directions during your little reunion with Tatsumi," Anderson points at Tatsumi. "But things change and I was told to give you updates before the departure to Greenland," Anderson continues with the debriefing. "Apparently the geographers got their graphs wrong and now we have three targets," Anderson uncaps and circles the first objective. "Firstly we'll be inserting via a High Altitude and Low Orbit jump into the small base of Kangilinnguit. After that we accompany a confirmed speed boat and are to head over to what was originally Bluie West Three and Bluie West One," Anderson circles the two other objectives. "Objective. Eliminate any and all Nazi presence so as to hamper their communications and dump their corpses into the sea." He caps his marker. "From where Bluie West One is, we're allowed to bargain with a pilot there since there is a hanger, large enough for a transport plane. We get a free ride, they keep their life. This concludes the briefing." Anderson completes his briefing. "Any questions? If not, then suit up by 19:30 as we're departing at 20:00 EST time.." Anderson continues. He walks over to the light switch and turns it back on and turns off the projector. He uses his marker pen to point at Wave and Kurome. "Atlantis, Necromantress, would you two help me bring in some snacks and coffee for the group? Especially for you and your sister."

"But I don't like the coffee here," Kurome objects.

"It's not a favor, now move." Anderson orders the two without any further objections. As the three left the meeting room, Tatsumi has a moment to relax before starting the mission. Yet, in spite of what has panned out, he knows that he has to answer questions at some point but knows not to approach it. He plays it safe.

"So, what's the time right now before we have to get ready for this mission?" Tatsumi asks, trying to stay away from any awkward confrontations.

"We have about an hour and a half before departing." Akame responded, silently meditating.

"Is that so? So you have an internal clock or something?" Tatsumi responded, asking about Akame's timekeeping skills.

"Yes, but there is a clock just by the entrance of the building," Akame responded, returning to her silent form of meditation. Soon after, Mine breaks the silence.

"If no one is going to ask, I might as well be the first," Mine breaks the silence and turns a chair to face Tatsumi face-to-face. "In the years that you were with Esdeath...did you...do anything... weird with Esdeath?" Mine hesitate at first but was able to ask Tatsumi a direct and straightforward question. "It's a yes or no question."

"Direct as usual," Tatsumi thinks to himself of Mine's usual mannerisms. "But the way she asked, is she jealous? No, I have to answer her question." Tatsumi then begins to answer Mine's question. "I can't recall much of what I did, or what she did to me, But I do know that she is stronger than before in our world. Her Imperial Arms, she finds new ways to use it. Not to mention, the SS-Gruppenführerin has a whole division she commands. Many of whom are veterans that are well-trained and disciplined. Their loyalty is primarily to Hitler and the party. But they're also loyal to the SS-Gruppenführerin." Tatsumi answers Mine's question. Mine lays back on her seat, semi-satisfied with her answer. But Mine catches what Tatsumi called Esdeath.

"Wait, what did you call General Esdeath as an SS-Gropenfurhen?" Mine asked another question butchering Esdeath's rank in the Waffen-SS, the German SS, and the Nazi party.

"Out of habit, I guess? She had me learn so many things that were repetitive, like how to salute and how to introduce myself in front of high-ranking members. Even learning how to speak like them and addressing them." Tatsumi continues, expanding on what he knows to his old comrades. Next to ask is Lubbock.

"How close were you to Esdeath and those other people?" Lubbock asks, wanting to know Tatsumi's relationship with all of the leaders in the Reich. "I bet you got some special favor from Esdeath since she practically made you her husband and all of that. Must be nice. Really nice." Lubbock continues but his tone increasingly grows jealous as he wraps an arm around his. Tatsumi is a bit stunned but can see his reasoning.

"I don't know exactly. We never married, even the SS-Gruppenführerin didn't desire to marry because she knows that if she did she loses her position in the Reich and has to retire." Tatsumi answers Lubbock's question. "I only met the Führer once when Esdeath invited me to Germania to meet him."

"Germania, huh? From what I heard it's like the Imperial Capital," Mine comments, "Well, is it? I have no doubt that this Nazi reich is just like the Empire from our world." Before Tatsumi could answer an obvious question, Akame interjects.

"If you may, give Tatsumi his space. He was only recently accepted into our group just the other day," Akame stands up from her chair from her meditation and walks over to Tatsumi, with Lubbock removing his arm from Tatsumi. "Now, answer me this Tatsumi. Just how long were you in this world, and how did you even appear in this world?" Akame asks wanting to know and not repeating her actions in the White House.

"Well, I don't know how exactly, Akame," Tatsumi attempts to recall how he'd ended up in his new world. "I do remember that I appeared here back in 1960, and before then its also blurry. I don't know who sent me, but I think they wanted me to kill Esdeath. I don't know how though," Tatsumi answers Akame's question, he then looks at all the three members who were a part of Night Raid. "Yet, I believe that with our Imperial Arms, we have a chance to put an end to her." Tatsumi then asks a question of his own. "It would be nice too to see the other members of Night Raid, like Bulat, Leone, Sheele, Chelsea, Susanoo, and Najenda," Tatsumi lists starting from his thumb, then his index, middle, ring, pinkie finger, and his right-hand thumb. "Any idea where they are?" Tatsumi asked. "But also, how did Kurome and Wave come about being friends? Weren't they Jaegers? But then again, you've already come to terms with one another?" Tatsumi asked. Akame nodded her head in agreement as so did Mine and Wave. Before they could continue to talk with one another Anderson, Wave, and Kurome enters the meeting room.

"I don't know what y'all doing," Anderson comments, "But eat what you can and drink whatever coffee you can. Cause'were going in about an hour. After that, start dressing up layers as it's about -3 to 2 degrees C." Anderson orders while he carries two trays of black coffee with creamer and sugar, Wave and Kurome both carry an array of snacks and bored faces.
After a while has passed by, the Night Hunters have begun to load up back inside the C-97, preparing to arrive at their mission point to halt the Reich's usage of American technology.

Two MPs walk alongside a female prisoner who has her hands handcuffed behind her back and a black bag over her head. The female prisoner was placed in solitary in the nearest Military Prison as her activities were related to the military but also considered to be dangerous. The female prisoner wears a plain light blue dress that comes with a long skirt, similar to the men's uniform for the shirt but fitted to match her womanly and voluptuous build, flat leather shoes. As the three continue to walk the female prisoner trips on herself and collapses to the cold ground.

"Ow!" She cries out, unable to use her hands to catch herself from falling.

"Get up would you!" One of the MPs scolds her for being clumsy. "Now move it, inmate!" They help her up and wrap their arms in between hers to ensure she doesn't run or trip once more. The three make it to an interrogation room, removing her handcuffs used to walk and handcuffing them again to the handcuffs chained to the table. Finally, they remove the black bag that was on her head. She squints for a moment to adjust to the bright light of the room but her vision doesn't immediately adjust focus.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" She asks. She turns to the mirror that lies on the wall. Behind the mirror stands Reeds along with another colleague. His colleague turns to Reeds for a question.

"So. Are you sure about this? I mean, she is kind of dangerous. Especially how she laid waste to those men." A CIA Agent turns to Reeds. "Colonel?"

"For sure. She eliminated a couple of squads worth of soldiers in Canada, with many tracing back to her. But I don't think she's naturally dangerous if she gave up easily. If she hadn't then we wouldn't be here now would we? If there is only a way for the agency to harness her abilities and keep them away from the army?" Reeds ponders.

"Why not just give up her Imperial Arms to the Army? They could find a use for them." The CIA Agent asks.

"Same could be said about yours," Reeds responded, his colleague turns away annoyed. He turns to face the woman in the room once more. "Perhaps I should make my entrance of me being an Army colonel, which is true, but continue talking about the CIA. Similar to what I've talked about with Tatsumi, and just like him, all we simply got to do is write some names here and there and get official documents stating they're on our side. If we couldn't get their information in the first place. Make sure you get her answers in recording too."

"Well. Let's hope she cooperates." The CIA Agent responded. Reeds leaves the room and enter the meeting room the same way as he had before with Tatsumi.

"Are you doing alright?" Reeds asked the woman as he places a file before her and sits down just across from the female prisoner. He reaches into his coat pocket and produces a pair of glasses that the woman had used before. "I believe these are yours." He lays down the pair of glasses in front of the prisoner.

"Thank you." She responded as she puts her glasses back on.

"Now, do you know where you are?" Reeds asked. "Do you know what you're in for?"

"I assume it's because I've taken the lives of your countrymen?" She responded.

"Yes, but also over twenty German corpses were found that had the same clean cuts that were inflicted on them as how you did to that Marine platoon." Reeds continued. "We tried to get information about who you are from the Canadian government, seeing that we found you in Canada but nothing. The only trace we got is this baptismal form where the majority of the information is blank. Specifically traced back to a destroyed church outside of the small city of Moncton in New Brunswick," Reeds inspected the paper further. "I doubt that's even your real date of birth," Reeds brings the paper down and calms himself before returning to the main topic. "I apologize for the improper introduction. Let me start from the beginning. I'm Colonel Johnathan Reeds of the CIA, formerly US Army Special Forces."

"Special Forces?" She asked inquisitively.

"In the Army it's special forces. To the CIA it's more of a covert paramilitary unit. You'll be associated with the US but not be a part of it. Understand?" Reeds continued.

"I do. But why do you want me to be a part of your organization? I haven't been associated with any militaristic groups in over four years." The female prisoner continued.

"Well, that weapon you wield certainly is something else. It caught the attention of my government, but I'm surprised you kept it secret with your own government in Canada," Reeds leads her on with a question, getting an answer he desired. "An Imperial Arms... was it?" The two words catch the female prisoner's attention as for a long time she thought to be the one who wielded such a weapon. She looks down and away from Reeds.

"How do you know what an Imperial Arms is?" She asked. "The only persons who know about that are me and Father. No one else." The female prisoner responded and tries to form an objection.

"Well, if you agree to join then more information will befall you in due time." Reeds exclaim to the female prisoner. "So, what would it be?" He asks the female prisoner.

2 May, 1963
Brandenburg, Greater Germanic Reich
Saarmund Aerodrome
0500

At the Saarmund Aerodrome Esdeath arrives just as scheduled, and just as scheduled a Burgundian plane: one Potez 840 lands on the runway facing west. Esdeath sees the markings, an eight on both sides with the Burgundian swastika on the side of the wings.
"Well then, I shouldn't keep them waiting any longer now, should I." Esdeath speaks to herself as the side door is opened and a Burgundian SS officer comes out. His field uniform is like that of the German SS dress uniform: black jack boots, dark feldgrau pants with two thin white stripes going on each side of the leg, a dark feldgrau tunic like that of a German SS officer, and SS patches on the collar with black shoulder marks designating him as a Burgundian Sturmbannführer, the feldgrau officer cap of the SS, a black belt with the SS buckle and matching color sam browne belt that runs from his right shoulder to his hip, and to top it off a small rectangular patch of the Burgundian SS flag: a pure black field with the Burgundian swastika in the middle of the field sewn onto the left side of his shoulder tunic.

"Heil Hitler, you mus the the SS-Gruppenführerin?" The Burgundian Sturmbannführer asks.

"I am," Esdeath responded, wearing her SS-Gruppenführerin service dress.

"You may step inside. Please enter." The Burgundian Sturmbannführer invites Esdeath inside the Potez 840. She enters the aircraft and takes off to the capital of the SS State, Ost-Paris.

Author's Note:

Burgundian Swastika: a circled version of the Nazi swastika but made white and made to stand on one leg instead of two. It's the first flag/symbol you will see when you look up the Ordenstaat Burgund (SS State of Burgundy) online, specifically the one from the Hearts of Iron 4 Mod: The New Order.

I also changed the location of Esdeath's departure so that it would be more discrete and outside of Führer's view, being that the SS State is secretive and all that.
