Chapter 4
It was Tuesday afternoon, and a young blackhaired boy was walking inside Asahiyama, arriving to the point where someone could see a big swimming pool that was currently used by the official swimming club.
'So this is the place where the swimming club trains…This pool is awesome!', thought Fuutarou, admiring the pool and seeing the swimming club members train.
And while he was looking, some boys noticed him and asked, "Hey buddy, what are you doing here?"
When he heard calling him, Fuutarou looked in their direction and smirked, "Hello, everyone. My name is Uesugi Fuutarou and I'm here to join your swimming club."
As soon as he said that, everyone of them gasped. "W-wait, you're that famous Uesugi Fuutarou, the ace swimmer of Tashigan Middle School?"
"Haha, it seems that my name is well known everywhere. Yes, that's me. I heard that there was a good swimming club here at Asahiyama, so I wanted to join."
One of the guys happily exclaimed, "That's great! Having a fantastic swimmer like you in our club will be very good! Hana-San, go to take the application form for Uesugi-kun, please."
"Yes!", said a young girl with long brown hair before leaving to go inside a small office. She didn't take too much time as she came back quickly and went towards the golden eyes boy.
"H-here, Fuutarou-kun. This is the application form for our club. My name's Hana Juroshi and I'm in charge of nursing the swimmers if they hurt themselves. Nice to meet you hehe.", she told while giving him the papersheet.
"The pleasure is mine, Juroshi-San. Thanks a lot.", he replied with a grin that made her blush.
The boys looked at the two teenagers with a mix of surprise and jealousy; they knew that Fuutarou was very popular since the first day that he and his stepsisters started to go to Asahiyama, but it was incredible the effect that he had on girls.
'Ugh, why don't I have his same luck?', complained some boys mentally due to the envy towards Fuutarou.
After going in the small office to compile the application form, Fuutarou was allowed to go to change in his swimsuit in the changing rooms, as he wanted to show his talent already. But he didn't know that there were 5 identical girls that followed him towards the swimming pool.
Said girls were looking at the swimming pool from outside of the door, and one of them had a frown on her face.
"That girl…She was trying to flirt with Fuu-niichan!", said Nino with an angry voice.
"Calm down, Nino. She was just being nice with Fuu-nii. I don't think that she wants to steal him.", said Ichika, trying to calm the angry butterfly ribbons girl.
"Don't be so sure, Ichika. Fuutarou-nii is very popular, so other girls will try to flirt with him and maybe ask him out.", said a pouting Miku.
"Fuutarou-niisama will love only us! I don't think that other girls can rival us hehe."
"I won't let some homewreckers steal Fuu-niichan anyways! He's mine!"
"Mouuu, Fuu-niisan prefers me, Nino.", said a pouting Itsuki, starting a glaring contest with Nino.
And while the quints were discussing between themselves, their beloved brother came out from the changing rooms with nothing but a dark green swimsuit, putting in highlight his trained upper body with nice pectorals and developing abs.
At such sight, every quint and Hana blushed deeply, with Miku and Yostuba fainting. "F-fuutarou-nii/F-Fuutarou-niisama…T-too hot.", they mumbled while still on the ground.
"Awww, Fuu-niichan is so handsome hehe.", said a giggling Nino, admiring the young man.
Ichika and Itsuki nodded in agreement, even if the ahoge girl was keeping her eyes covered with one that was peeking at the shirtless young boy.
Meanwhile, the boys and Hana were still amazed by how well trained Fuutarou looked, with some of them feeling envious of him. Hana, on the other hand, was blushing heavily.
"Well, now that I'm ready, can I show you my abilities?", asked Fuutarou.
"A-ah, yes. We will test your abilities with a rapid test that consists in measuring the time that you take to swim back and forth. Take place near the pool's board to dine when I give you start.", said a spiky orange haired guy who seemed to be the club's president.
"Got it.", replied the ace swimmer, doing what he was explained to do.
And as soon as he placed himself in position, the president gave him the start and Fuutarou dived in the water and started to swim fast. The speed and lack of fatigue that he was showing was incredible at the eyes of everyone, whose faces were full of amazement.
And after swimming back and forth at least 3 times, the young boy got out from the swimming pool; his body with the wet look after swimming was really hot, so much that it was Nino to faint this time.
"F-Fuu-niichan is s-so gorgeous hehe.", she mumbled with a smile while Ichika and Itsuki were red as tomatoes. Miku and Yotsuba recovered from fainting, and this time they covered their faces after seeing Fuutarou's hot look.
" A minute and 50 seconds?! That was really fast, Uesugi-kun! We're glad to welcome you in our club haha!", exclaimed the president, giving a thumb up like the other members to Fuutarou.
"Well, I'm glad to be part of it haha.", replied the golden eyes boy with a grin.
'I was about to nosebleed! Gosh, how is he so handsome?!', thought Hana, who managed to not nosebleed at the sight of Fuutarou's look.
"Good, to celebrate Uesugi-kun's entry in our club, we will play a nice water polo match. How about it, everyone?", proposed the president, getting a fast nod from all the swimmers.
So all the guys proceeded to divide in 2 groups with a captain each one, and Fuutarou ended in the one captained by the president, who presented himself Koijiro Kurogane. After Hana gave the start with a whistle, the 2 teams started to play and have fun while scoring against each others, especially Fuutarou thag seemed to be pretty good.
His sisters, still hidden behind the door outside, were happy to see their brother having fun with the club; seeing his smile was always beautiful for them. Still, that didn't stop some of them to launch some glares towards Hana.
'I have already my sisters and that Haruka girl as rivals! You better stay away from my Fuu-niichan!', was thinking Nino while Ichika tried to calm her down.
After their water polo match ended with the victory of Fuutarou's team, the swimmers proceeded to take a break of 20 minutes to relax, during which they started to make friends with the golden eyes boy. Even Hana tried to do the same, but she was feeling like someone was glaring at her from the distance. Maybe it was just her imagination pranking her.
"So you like Fairy Tail battle themes, Uesugi-kun? Which one is your favorite?", asked Koijiro.
"I think that my favorite is "Raienryuu no Hoeru". When I listen to it, I feel more energetic when I work out.", replied Fuutarou with a grin.
"Oh, do you like also "Ultimate Battle" from Dragonball Super? That song is really awesome!", asked him another guy, getting a fast nod from the ace swimmer.
And their break went on like this until the end, after which they trained in swimming styles for about 2 hours with some little contests of speed during which Fuutarou showed again his talent. And after these 2 hours, it was time for everyone to go home as it was almost afternoon, so they went to change in the changing rooms and greeted each other after they were done.
As soon as he stepped out from the door through which he reached the pool, Fuutarou was immediately hugged by 5 identical redhaired girls. "Fuu-nii/Fuu-niichan/Fuutarou-nii/Fuutarou-niisama/Fuu-niisan!", they said in unison while clinging on him.
"Hey, girls. You were waiting for me? You could go to home even without me.", he replied while patting them.
"No way! Fuu-niisan has always to go back to home with us! I don't like it when you're not with us.", said Itsuki, hugging him more tightly.
"Fuutarou-nii has to protect us from possible bad guys that can harm us.", said instead Miku, getting a headpat from him.
"Alright, alright. Let's go home together then, ok?", he proposed, getting a happy nod accompanied by a smile from every quint.
So the Uesugi siblings left the school to go back to their house, stopping first at a little stand where Itsuki wanted to buy some meat buns. Her brother chuckled and decided to buy one for everyone, cleaning Itsuki's cheek while he noticed that it was dirty.
Seeing that made the other sisters jealous, especially Ichika that gave a quick peck on Fuutarou's cheek to remove the sauce on it. He was surprised by her action and turned to her, who simply giggled.
"No fair! Let me give you a kiss too, Fuu-niichan!", said a jealous Nino, getting close to him to kiss him on the cheek.
"Us too!", said the other sisters while Fuutarou sighed.
'I think that outside of school is not a bad idea', he thought while letting the other quints kiss him on the cheeks, colouring them with a little red tint.
They then continued to walk towards their house, and the quints proceeded how it was his enter in the swimming club. Of course they knew how it went as they observed from the distance, but they wanted to hear it from him directly, especially about that girl that seemed interested in him.
"Juroshi-San? She's just the girl in charge of nursing wounded swimmers or giving us energy drinks. She's also the girlfriend of the club president from what I heard.", he said to his stepsisters, who sighed in relief to know that they didn't have another love rival.
Their reaction made Fuutarou remember what his parents told about him marrying the quints, which made him frown. Since they told him and his stepsisters that he could marry one of them or even all, each quint paid too much mind to the girls that Fuutarou made friends with. Nino was always so jealous whenever he talked with Haruka for example.
It wasn't like that he didn't like how much they cared about him, but sometimes their jealousy was a little annoying and their shows of love for him could give him troubles at school. Thank goodness he told them to avoid kissing him there.
These were his thoughts while he continued to walk with the quints, with some of them clinging on his arms. And after some minutes, they arrived to their house where they could see Shizuku greeeting the last client of the day.
"Ara, Fuu-chan, girls. Welcome home! How did it go at school?", she said while greeting them.
"Onii-chan! Onee-chan!", said a little black haired girl, running towards Fuutarou and the quints to hug them.
"Yo, Mom, Raiha. Let's say that today at school was really cool. I joined Asahiyama's swimming club and made new friends too.", replied Fuutarou with a smirk while the quints were greeting Raiha.
"Really? I'm so happy for you. It seems that you will be popular even there too. Right, Dear?"
Isanari came out from the bakery while putting a hand on Shizuku's shoulder. "Haha, sure he will. He will be so popular that other girls will get interested in him."
And after he said that, the quints' expressions turned into frowns and pouts. "Fuutarou-nii is mine! I won't let other girls steal him.", said Miku, hugging Fuutarou's left arm.
"Fuu-niisan prefers me! ", said instead a pouting Itsuki, clinging on his right arm.
"Did you really have to say that, Dad?", asked an annoyed Fuutarou while even the other 3 quints hugged him and Isanari and Shizuku chuckled at his expenses.
"Hehe, my big sisters really love Onii-chan!", said a giggling Raiha, whose belly grumbled like everyone's.
"It seems that everyone is hungry. Alright, Fuu-chan and Isanari prepare the table while Nino-chan and Raiha-chan help me to cook.", said Shizuku, getting a nod from said people.
So the whole family got inside the house where father and son started to prepare the table and Nino, Shizuku and Raiha started to cook. The other quints went to take at turns a quick shower, while Nino made taste the food to her brother, giggling when he said that it was great. Raiha and Shizuku giggled at that, especially when Yotsuba arrived to cling on Fuutarou and ask him to play some games together on her Playstation 4 meanwhile.
"Come on, Fuutarou-niisama! Let's play together hehe."
"Then let's play Dark Souls 2 and defeat that boss from last time."
"Fuutarou-nii, I want to play too.", asked him Miku while clinging on his arm, getting a happy nod from him.
So the 3 of them turned on the console and launched the game, with Yotsuba starting to play first while a blushing Miku was leaning her head on Fuutarou's shoulder. He let her do it of course as he wasn't bothered by that. But the same couldn't be said for the pouting Itsuki.
'Mouuu, Miku is getting closer to Fuu-niisan! Then I will do the same!', she thought while sitting on the sofa at Fuutarou's right to lean on his shoulder too.
"Ugh, I lost again. Can you try to defeat it, Fuu-Hey, no fair! I want to be close to him like that too!", said a jealous Yotsuba while getting up and sitting on Fuutarou's lap to hug him, making Itsuki and Miku pout. Fuutarou, on the other hand, was a little annoyed.
"Fuu-niichan, dinner is-Hey, you 3! You're getting closer to him while I'm not around? That's not fair!", exclaimed the butterfly ribbons quint after seeing him be hugged by 3 of her sisters. Isanari, who saw the scene from the dining room, chuckled and annoyed Fuutarou.
'I will put some hot paprika in your noodles later, Dad!', thought the boy, still bothered by Isanari's laugh at his expenses.
The whole family them took place at the table to eat, and just like he wanted to do, Fuutarou put stealthily some hot paprika on Isanari's plate, whose mouth got hot because of the spicy and he quickly drank some water to remove the taste, making everyone chuckle at his funny reaction.
After this, the dinner went fine with Ichika and Nino competing in feeding Fuutarou, even the boy said that he could eat by himself. The other quints frowned instead because they wanted to sit next to him too, but the two oldest ones beat them at it.
Despite this, Fuutarou enjoyed the food cooked by his mother, Raiha and Nino, telling his stepsister that the noodles that she prepared were great. This made Nino blush and give him a sweet hug that made her sisters jealous.
'I will learn to cook well too, so Fuutarou-nii can praise me as well!', thought Miku, wanting to be a good cook for her beloved brother too. The other sisters didn't think in the same way instead, as they all had different plans to catch his attention. Identical sisters but with different personalities as they say.
Once they finished to have dinner, Fuutarou decided to go to his room to do some homework for the next day; their math teacher gave them some equations to resolve, so he wanted to make them before going to bed later.
He entered then in his room and took his math notebook to make the equations, not taking too much time as expected. At a certain point, his phone made a notification sound, so he took it and checked it; there was a LINE message from Haruka.
"Good evening, Fuutarou-kun. How did it go at the swimming club?", was the content of the message, which made Fuutarou smile.
"It went great! I joined it pretty easily and made friends with the other members quickly. I'm sure I will have fun while practicing with them", he wrote to reply.
"Oh, I'm happy to know it hehe. Umm, tomorrow could you help me with some English translations? I have difficulty with some words.", was her next message.
"Sure, I'm always ready to help to study. So let's meet in the library after school tomorrow. How about it?"
"It's perfect for me. Thank you, Fuutarou-kun. See you tomorrow."
"See ya, Haruka!", he replied before putting away his phone and smiling. Haruka was always a little bashful when she wanted to talk with him directly, but when it came to messages she looked completely fine. But thinking about it, it would be hilarious seeing her stutter while writing a text.
And while he was thinking about that, someone knocked on his bedroom's door. "Yes?", he asked.
"Fuu-nii, it's me. Can I enter?", said the voice from outside of the door.
"Come in, Ichika.", he replied. And so the door was opened, revealing the oldest quint with a notebook in her hands and a smile on her face.
"Fuu-nii, could you help me with some History questions, please?", she asked with puppy eyes, making him blush a bit.
"Jeez, you 5 and Raiha have really an habit in using that look, even if it's not necessary. Come here and show me those questions."
"Hehe, thank you, Fuu-nii!", she said while giving him a hug, getting a headpat in return. So the two of them sat down on his beds and the black haired boy started to explain to Ichika how she had to answer to those questions.
During this, the short redhaired girl leaned her head on his shoulder, smiling happily to be so close to him. "Hey, I know that you like hugging me and all, but are you listening to me?", he asked her.
"Hehe, I can't help it. Being so close to you is always nice for me. It reminds me when you hugged me to praise me when I showed you my acting skills during middle school.", she replied, wrapping her arms around his figure.
"Oh, yeah haha. You started to have a passion for acting and films at that time and you always asked me to give my opinion about your skills. I remember it pretty well.", he said, starting to reminish something…
"Fuu-nii!", said the oldest quint while hugging Fuutarou.
"What's up, Ichika?"
"Could you give me your opinion about my acting? Today the drama club gave me the part of Snowhite for a theatrical representation of that fairytale.", she replied with a big smile.
"Are you sure you want my opinion? I'm not really that great in distinguishing good acting from bad."
Ichika pouted, "Your opinion is important anyways, Fuu-nii. Whenever you praise me, I feel like that I can become a great actress in the future!"
The young boy blushed at her words, so he sighed and accepted to hear her acting. He sat down on his bed while the young girl started to act the lines that the drama club of her middle school gave her. While she was saying them, her voice and her behavior looked exactly like those of a sweet princess, leaving her brother surprised. It looked like she had practiced a lot to be that good.
"S-so, w-what d-do you think?", she asked with a blush on her face.
Fuutarou grinned, "It was fantastic! Your voice and your mannerism looked exactly like those of a princess! I'm not sure if the drama club shares my opinion, but you'll certainly do a great job if you act like that on the stage haha."
Hearing such beautiful praise from the young boy made Ichika blush deeply and smile brightly. She loved when her beloved brother told her such nice words, so she went to hug him and give him a kiss on the cheek, making him blush like her hair.
"Hehe, thank you, Fuu-nii. I will make sure to do my best for you. I love you.", she said, giggling and making him more embarrassed.
But right after she said that, the other quints entered in the room and went towards Fuutarou to hug him as well. "We love him too, not just you!", they said while hugging him tightly, with Shizuku giggling at the sight of them fighting for Fuutarou's affection.
"Yeah, it was during middle school that you started to have a passion for acting, even if you were always scared of horror movies and always hugged me tightly because of that haha.", he said while patting her head.
"It was you that wanted to scare me. You knew that I was scared of zombies and werewolves and you wanted to watch those films anyways. You were mean, Fuu-nii.", she replied with a pout while Fuutarou chuckled.
And just like that, they passed the rest of time revising Ichika's answers to the History questions and talking about what they did at school during the first days. The golden eyes boy even asked her if she had given a look to Asahiyama's drama club, saying that he'd like to see her on the stage even at highschool.
Ichika replied that she did, and since he told her that he wanted to see her acting on the stage again, she also told him that she would be such a good actress that could make him fall for her.
Needless to say, her response made him blush and look away embarassed, giving her the occasion to kiss him on the cheek and hugging him tighter.
'Hehe, Fuu-nii is always so cute when I tease him. And thank you for pushing me to do my best in acting. I'm really glad that I'm in love with a great guy like you.', she thought while clinging on him.
They stayed like this while finishing too revise her assignment, and after they were done, Fuutarou told her that she could go back to her room and sleep as they had school the day after.
"Can I sleep here, Fuu-nii, please? When you talked about horror films, terrible images started to pop up in my mind. So I'm scared that a monster attacks me in my sleep hehe.", she replied with a playful tone.
The boy sighed, "Fine, for this time you can sleep here. You and your sisters should learn to always sleep in your own rooms anyways. We're all teenagers."
"But we love sleeping with our dear brother. We love you so much hehe.", she said while giving him a hug and making him smile while he caressed her head.
So Fuutarou decided to take off his clothes to wear a pair of trousers and a sleeveless shirt while Ichika was turned around with her hands covering her eyes. She wanted to take a peek at his shirtless figure again, but she was sure that she would be too embarrassed later; Fuutarou was very handsome after all.
And after he changed his clothes, she went in her room to change in her pyjama as well, which consisted in a yellow t-shirt and yellow knee long pants. Then she laid on the bed next to her stepbrother, clinging happily on him with her head leaning on his chest.
'Fuu-nii is always so warm hehe.', she thought happily while slowly closing her eyes. Seeing her start to sleep like that made Fuutarou smile and give her a goodnight kiss on the forehead before turning off the light and starting to sleep as well, not noticing how Ichika's face became red because his kiss.
'I will do my best in becoming a great actress just like I'm doing to make you fall for me, Fuu-nii. Since my sisters and I met you and we became part of your family, my feelings for you grew deeper with the time. And after Mom and Dad said that I can marry you, I'm even more determined to make you see me in the same way as I do with you. I love you, Fuu-nii.', she thought while giving him a good night kiss with her eyes closed, making appear a little shade of red on Fuutarou's face.
So the two teenagers were now sleeping peacefully together on the boy's bed, but unbeknownst to them or maybe not, the other quints weren't so happy that the oldest one passed the time with Fuutarou alone in his room to now sleep in his room.
This meant in fact just one thing: the other quints would try to grab his attention and pass the some time alone with as well as they didn't want to stay behind. They loved him a lot and wanted to show their affection to him after all, especially because they feared that some other girl could steal him away. Even if this was more a fear of Nino and Miku haha.
A/N
Chapter 4 for you my friends! And yes, our boy Fuutarou joined Asahiyama swimming club, where he showed his great skills (and also his hot body haha) and even made friends with the members. His sisters obviously followed and saw everything from the distance, fearing that he could meet a girl that would steal away (especially Nino haha). But it seems that Hana has already a boyfriend, so that's a relief for the quints.
I gave Fuutarou some musical interests like Fairy Tail Battle OSTs because I think they they would be nice to listen while working out, and making him, Yotsuba and Miku play Dark Souls was to show their interest in games.
Ichika's inspiration to become an actress is very strong thanks to the praises that she received from our boy as shown in the flashback, and also her determination in making him fall for her is pretty big because of that. Still, she always has her sisters and Haruka as rivals, so it won't be easy haha. I hope that you liked this chapter and stay tuned for more.
