Bella's engine roared and then her tires stopped abruptly, She breathed terrified.
"Bella what's happening? Who's there?" Edward said.
"No! Bella!" Edward panicked trying to make Bella speak to him,
"Answer me," Edward pleased and could hear footsteps approaching Bella.
Bella.. get away from there, run!" Edward said, she can't out run Victoria but what if it will give her a second longer to live, maybe she'll start playing with her food giving them more time to try and pick up her scent.
Bella then spoke, her final words.. Edward began to cry " No.. Don't leave me Bella please just hold on I'm coming " He didn't want her to be afraid.
"No! stay away from her,!" Edward said,
"Carlisle hurry, We need to reach her now!" Edward cried if only he could pick up Victoria's scent, He's such a lousy tracker and there is nothing that can be done besides driving.
Edward went silent, his sobs ceased when he heard Victoria's voice. Alice gasped trying to locate Victoria but no luck, Alice held her head in sorrow knowing that it's too late to do anything.
"Whatever you are planning do it to me, It's me you want" Edward begged.
trying to reason with Victoria was like asking a hungry predator not to eat it's prey, his pleading fell on deaf ears when Victoria closed the phone.
"BITCH!" Edward shouted and cracked the phone in his hands, despite wanting to tear Victoria limb from limb he knows that he's too late to save Bella.
"Bella.. she's only a baby.." Edward whimpered, not wanting to know what Victoria will do to her,
"I should have never left Bella out of my sight!" Edward cried clutching fistfuls of hair.
If only he didn't meddle with things, if he didn't use bribe money then Bella would be living with her mother. If he never returned then she would she would have been with Jacob still under the werewolves protection in Hawaii.
A sunny place for her to be happy, University in one of the most beautiful places on Earth and her whole life as a human.. he ruined that change he tried so hard to protect.
He wants nothing more than engulf Bella in his embrace, If there is a Miracle and God decides to save her he'll never let her leave his arms again, Edward desperately tried to pray, asking the God that created the world to spare Bella and have mercy on him.
" Just take me instead, please God don't let her die" Edward shook, wishing he could sacrifice his existence to let Bella live, If only he could make a deal with God to let her live.
Edward cried hysterically, the pain was horrible he couldn't do anything besides mourning and Carlisle grabbed on to him as he called out to Bella.
Carlisle stopped the Vehicle and opened the door of the passenger seat,
"Edward" stop it" Carlisle said when Edward wanted to move Carlisle grip on his wrists.
"No get off!" Bella.. she killed her!" Edward cried louder he was too distraught to make a clear sentence.
" Edward "Carlisle firmed his hold around him,
We might be too late to save Bella, we are not too late to avenge her" Victoria will die and anyone who aided her will be held accountable" Carlisle said.
Esme came from her Volvo wanting to get through to Edward, It was hard seeing her son in great sorrow but If they don't find Victoria now it will take months before they cross paths again.
"Carlisle" Esme said and he flinched when he noticed Esme's eyes were fire red.
"I brought human blood, you won't be able to defeat Victoria with our current diet now come on" Esme scolded and Alice followed her.
Edward stood up, He drank from the blood pack, He felt disgusted tasting human blood and enjoying the taste, he needed more.. and drank 10 packs.
he breathed out as he felt his strength return, the same strength while he was still hunting humans.
and without a word he sprinted, trying with all his might to pick up Victoria's scent and hopefully he can pick up her thoughts. The idea of seeing what Victoria has done to Bella through her mind made him rage full, no longer will he be pulling his punches. Victoria will suffer the same way she made Bella suffer.
Bella hiccupped after Victoria crushed the phone she then opened the door, " Don't worry Bella, you'll see your pops again soon" Victoria mocked,
Bella became upset, almost forgetting the fear of getting tortured and wanted to slap Victoria for that, she grabbed Bella's wrist not wanting a filthy human to touch her.
"You still have time to run away, when Edward get's a hold of you then it's game over" Bella said but her heart was thumping in her throat, Victoria kept smiling but but a hint of evil was present, soulless fire red eyes then narrowed.
Victoria grabbed Bella by the hair towards the forest Bella whimpered in pain trying to loosen Victoria's grip, but she held on harder is response, If Bella tried to jerk away the grip would only rip a part of her scalp away and Bella had no choice but to follow Victoria.
"Ahhhh! no.. Stop! where are we going?" Bella pleaded.
"Well There is someone who would like to meet you, that's the last face you'll ever see" Victoria said.
They walked a small distance, Bella pleaded with Victoria to stop hurting her but she just laughed it off.
"This is nothing compared to what I'm going to do to you" Victoria said cold, Bella didn't dare to look up at Victoria's face as fear almost lost her control over her legs,
Bella stumbled hoping and praying that this day will not be her last.
They were in a semi dark forest 5 minutes away from her vehicle. Victoria forced Bella on her knees and held her head up by the crown of her hair, Bella tried not move as Victoria held her steady.
"Look" Victoria ordered and carefully Bella opens her eyes open, she heard footsteps snapping on twigs, the bush ruffled and a slender woman appeared in front of her.
Bella couldn't believe her eyes,
"Leah" Bella Said shivering, she couldn't believe it,
"You helped Victoria?" Bella said now understanding why Alice couldn't see any threat in her future, Leah has helped mask the New Borns plans.
Now she understood why Edward and the others couldn't find Victoria's location,
"Leah please.. don't do this.. " Bella said knowing that her plea won't save her.
"Sorry Bella, I've lost so much in life.. I can't let you take Jacob away from me as well" Leah said.
"You Can have him, I'll lie to Jacob that I don't love him anymore but please don't do this to him, he's not going to forgive you if he finds out about this" Bella said.
"But I'll forgive you Leah, If you protect me from her" Bella pleaded.
"Protect you? " Leah said having so sympathy " No, I won't.. you see every problem starts with you Bella, Edward could have been exposed to the Volturi for saving you, Laurent and Irina are dead because of you, Victoria lost her mate, thanks to you"
Victoria let go of Bella's hair shoving her.
"I can't afford to lose Jacob because of you when he reject my imprint. Everyone would be better off if you no longer exist" Leah said shaking her head slightly after finishing her last sentence.
Leah smiled but she only had a brief moment enjoying her revenge plan.
Bella clutched her hands against her mouth in horror as a fountain of blood came from Leah's mouth, Victoria has punched a whole fist outside of Leah's stomach.
Leah couldn't say anything and swiftly Victoria retreated her bloody fist from Leah's body,
"Ah so sad, did you really think I was your ally?" Victoria asked Leah who was bleeding and twitching on the ground.
"I've only been using you to trap the Swan girl" and you're an outcast you're probably used to not being liked by anyone on this planet" Victoria said licking her fist to have a taste of Leah's blood.
She spit it out in disgust, Werewolf blood tastes like human food to her, revolting.
"You're a monster! How could you do that to her?" Bella said angry Even though she was frightened as she stared death in the face.
"You're a strange creature Bella, she betrayed you and you aren't even happy that she got what she deserves?" Victoria said stepping over Leah's frame like it's a pile of trash.
"Nothing personal Bella I just need to use you so that Edward will endure the same pain I had.
"A mate for a mate" Victoria said and placed a recorder on a tree bench to film herself mauling Bella and send the tape of her screams to the Cullens.
"Aren't you going to run?" Victoria cocked her head to the side,
" I can't out run you, just to do it" Bella said, She didn't want to die like this but Victoria can catch up with her in a split second and didn't want to give her more enjoyment of seeing Bella afraid. Victoria had her fun and accepted death without winching.
Victoria then snarled and went into a hunting pose Victoria looked behind her when a heavily injured Leah attacked from behind, Victoria didn't has time to reach and Leah bit Victoria tackling her to the ground slashing Victoria's face with the bit of strength she has.
"Run!" Leah howls trying her best to communicate with Bella in her wolf form, Bella got up on her feet and tried to run. Victoria's brief assault made it hard for Bella to move quick.
Victoria grabbed Leah's paws and threw her against a tree, she whimpered trying to get up, Victoria growled looking at Bella's direction, Victoria could still smell her so she hasn't limped far away. Victoria gasped when she smelled the horrible odor of werewolves there were a whole group of them. She trembled ignoring her escape gift and went after Bella to kill her.
Leah laid motionless on the ground and heard her pack coming closer, she closed her eyes not caring if she'll be saved for betraying Bella like this.
Jacob smelled Leah's scent, he didn't understand what on Earth she's doing there He also smelled blood. After seconds her pack arrived at the scene,
Close to the trees Leah was in a fetus position, Jacob ordered the rest to keep moving forward and he'll help Leah.
Jacob turned into a human right away, holding an unclad Leah, "Leah what happened?" Jacob asked.
"Bella.." Leah whimpered, "She's in danger."
"Hold on, I'll find something to treat that wound" Jacob said as he tears up, he wants to go to Bella so bad but at least his pack is on their way.
"No don't" Leah said. "All of this is my fault" Leah said.
"Leave me here and save Bella" Leah said, Jacob's eyes went from concern to intense hatred dropping her like a hot brick.
"Pray that Bella survives, If it's really your fault I'll deal with you later" Jacob barked in Wolf form.
Jacob sprinted catching up with his pack very quick.
Bella leaned against a tree catching her breath, Victoria wasn't behind her and tried to move forward she grabbed a stick rubbing it in one hand to leave her scent on it as she used the stick to draw a line Jacob or Edward could follow so that they know where Victoria could have gone incase she goes missing.
Bella looked up seeing Victoria in the distance cackling like a demon, her shoulders shook with each chuckle. amused at her poor attempt to escape.
Victoria leaped down with hands stretched towards Bella and Bella cowered when she was pulled into the air, Victoria carried her like a sack of potatoes and her vision starts to fade, she was tired, in pain and went limp,
Victoria landed on her feet and Bella noticed a horde of New Born vampires standing there,
Victoria shoves to the ground in front of the new borns, she gave a furious look when they were ready to lunge on Bella.
"This is not going to be a quick death" Victoria warns and tore most of Bella's clothing out of the way, Bella shivered from the cold trying to cover her body for warmth as she remained in her torn bra and underwear.
" That's better, now I can maul you to pieces undisturbed" Victoria said, Bella closed her eyes crying for her father, memorizing his face, and fantasized of being held by him as she enters heaven, Jacob.. Edward.. only happy memories went through her head.
An ear piercing scream of a woman echoed through the forest miles away, It was heard by both Edward and the werewolves, Jacob growled smelling the Cullen's not too far away, those bastards arrived late, they were closer to Bella than he was with his pack and they still failed her.
Edward slightly slowed down in speed when he heard Bella who is being tortured, As painful as it was, they might not be too late to get her medical treatment.
"Bella hold on, I know it's hard darling but please hold on to life for me.. don't let this be a goodbye.. not now" Edward thought as he pushed himself to go faster.
for once he was happy that he couldn't cry, otherwise his vision would blur stalling him from reaching her in time, the pain he felt turned to hope, Bella will not die today.
Victoria ripped a large hole in Bella's stomach seeing a large part of her internal organs, her ribs were broken poking on of her bloodstained flesh, Victoria enjoyed cutting Bella open and Bella twitched slightly but already stopped screaming, It was like sound no longer existed in Bella's world, just silence as she peacefully enters an empty void, her eyes rolled back and forth into her head and Victoria felt it's time to finish her off before the Cullens or those wolves arrive.
Bella cried soundlessly as only tears streamed down, not from the pain but that she can meet with Charlie soon and silently said her goodbye to her friends who have been good to her, Hopefully Edward will move on finding a new mate who is not vulnerable as she is, he has his family to stand by him, Jacob has his family so in a way she's not leaving anyone behind, And with that Bella accepted her fate.
The new borns surrounded her severely mutilated body and Victoria was the first to sink her teeth in her skin and the rest followed.
Victoria's eyes became red with delight as she enjoyed the taste of Bella's blood, 'Ah B-Negative.. a blood type I haven't taste in a while' Victoria said, she looked at the new borns who were suckling the blood and munching her flesh to get more blood out, and shoved all the vampires of Bella, they wondered why Victoria did such a thing and she snarled at them, You had your fun but I will be the one who gets to kill her" Victoria said.
She turned around to to snap Bella's neck and decapitate her head from her shoulders, then her preservation gift started to shake her like an Earthquake going through her, The Cullens have arrived if she doesn't leave now they will kill her, Victoria snarled at Bella who was still breathing even after the assault, her heart has already slowed down in thumping she's not going to make it due to the blood loss.
She couldn't fight the preserving gift anymore and had to leave..
"Kill her right now" Victoria ordered, and sprinted away, the others wondered why she left Bella alive until they smelled werewolves coming, one of them has an amazing scent that attacked their feral senses like a magnet they walked towards away from Bella and from the forest the Cullens arrived.
"Bella!" Edward screamed seeing a body swimming in a puddle of her own blood close to the newborns, rage overtook Edward and sprinted towards the New borns, the wolves arrived a split second later and joined in the attack, It was Seth's blood that stunned them long enough to arrive on time and they all wanted to have a taste from the young werewolf, and by running towards Seth like moths flying towards the fire Edward used that to his advantage, by reading their thoughts he could out smart them.
There were heaps of them and dog piled on Edward forcing him into submission and started to torture Edward by biting him It felt like razors cut into him, creating large cracks in his skin but the damage they caused didn't slow Edward down, He send them flying they landed on their feet and charged towards Edward, Edward used his vampire speed to dodge any incoming attack.
He dodged one newborn ripping it's arm off and when it tried to attack with it's other arm Edward threw him over his shoulder and it's head was caught in the large Jaws of Jacob, he ragefully crushed it's head and aided his pack who had trouble fighting them off.
Jacob wondered how many of them will he be able to take on, hordes of more vampires came to the surface of the lake. If they survive this battle he needs to come with a better plan to save his family from another Vampire attack. Jacob knows they will prevail with the help of the Cullens but he wants the werewolves to be strong on their own.
Seth attacked pulling the new born off and the last thing the new born saw was sharp dagger like teeth closing in on her face.
The crack in Edward's torso started to heal and shielded Seth when more of them came.
"Seth stay close to me" Edward Said.
Seth whimpered, wishing he could knock them out with the sound wave, If he tries still he'll only hurt edward's ears.
" I know Seth, but the fact that you're willing to fight for Bella means a lot," Edward said as more New Borns arrived to the scene,
"It's been a privilege knowing you" Edward said rushed towards the incoming attack, Seth was right behind him.
Seth jumped and bit a handful of new borns,
Jacob managed to kill a handful of them who tried to flock Bella and snarled defending her from the last ones standing.
There were 15 to 16 year old new borns who backed out from fighting the Cullen's and lowered to their knees pleading to be spared by them.
"They have surrendered" Carlisle said ceasing their attack, the remaining new borns begged for their lives.
Carlisle spared them and went to help Edward kill the rest of them but Rosalie who cares the least about Bella kept an eye on them so that they won't make a sneak attack against Carlisle.
The aggressive one's were strong but inexperienced, bewildered by the thirst and the Cullen's overthrow-ed them and Edward along with the others burned their bodies, the last few remained into submission and Edward knew that they are not going to try anything.
When the threat was neutralized Jacob turned back into a human and held Bella,
" Bella can you hear me?" Jacob said crying she wasn't answering but moved slightly,
Edward was with Seth, he seems fine despite his injury and could barely look at Bella's direction, she was in critical condition but there was still a heartbeat, Bella survived Victoria's attack and came to Jacob's side.
"Jacob let me help" Edward said trying to take Bella from his grasp to see if there is anything he can do for her.
Jacob bared his teeth, snarling at Edward even though he's a human now, It was a clear warning that If Edward doesn't back away now he's in trouble and Edward knew Jacob blames him for this.
"Don't spare any of them, treat them with the same regard like they treated Bella" Jacob said holding Bella tight to his frame, 'No, but we surrendered ' the new borns murmured eying their captors terrified.
"Jacob they are only children, used and manipulated by Victoria" Carlisle said wanting to grand them mercy..
"Burn in Hell bloodsucker, Bella is injured because your son, you don't get to tell me what I can or can't do" Jacob yelled furious. but instead of attacking Carlisle he turned towards Seth.
"Do it" Jacob ordered, and Sam used the Alpha call to make sure every wolf obeyed "No" Edward said reaching towards Jacob but then he held his head as a sound wave came from Seth, Edward fell on his knees not being able to move.
. The newborns looked around not understanding why the wolves turned against the Cullens. They didn't understand why the sound of Seth's howling hurt the ones who are a vampire for centuries.
The wolves then killed all the new borns while the Cullen's were still on the ground in crippling pain.
Jacob held onto Bella's hand it was so hard to leave her but he has to find Victoria before she goes to his family or anyone else, Jacob turned into a werewolf and picked up Victoria's scent.
When the new borns fed off her she no longer felt any pain, even when they tore her flesh, she could feel the sensation of their teeth drill inside of her but there was no pain.
no sound, is this the end? If so then she'll gladly take it. She felt the burning sensation of the venom while she was still conscious but now that she's retreating to the empty void the pain on Earth no longer tormented her moral frame.
It was time to go.
Bella's breathing became steady one last time before it started to slow down, she didn't know what made Victoria cease her attack, maybe she just wanted her to freeze to death without any aid. She did promised Bella that she'll give her a slow painful death so this has been her plan all long.
Unfortunate for Victoria her death will be peaceful as she let go of the thin thread of life.
She wished she could stay a bit longer to dream or hallucinate about her husbands she has to leave behind. Her friends who are still in college.
Bella hopes Edward nor Jacob will blame themselves for this, no one could have known what Victoria wanted to do since Leah aided her.
'Be..lla can.. you hear..me?' Bella moved slightly when she thought she heard someone, it was soft, it was sad,
Jacob? my Jae is that you? his hold felt so comforting, Bella wanted to come back to Earth just to see his face, even if the horrible pain will return to her, If she's in Jacobs embrace the pain will be manageable.
Bell tried to speak but could only press her lips together in response.
She felt she was being placed down
and then she was sucked back into the eternal slumber, her mind seems to be dying off sending images of her memories she holds sacred, Her beloved Jacob trying his best to make her feel accepted at the reservation, Her Edward at the Meadows sparkling, her friends.. Charlie introducing her to Forks when she came for a Holiday.
It's time to say goodbye to this life. Death doesn't seem that scary at all, It's peaceful. Hopefully there is a better world waiting for her beyond the void.
Then the pain and the cold from the weather came back, It was horrible, she couldn't scream or call for aid, She felt she's being shaken, "Did Victoria come back to finish where she left off"? Bella thought.
She was frightened to open her eyes but sobs was heard when Bella was pulled back into consciousness.
"Bella! oh no Bella! please answer me! don't die on me, don't die Bella!" a man shouted at her.
Edward? he's crying.. oh no I have to stay alive for him just a bit longer, to say goodbye.. I don't think I'll make it I'm too exhausted. Bella thought.
Bella tried to lift her eye lids, It was so hard but managed to open them slightly as her eyes adjusted. It was really Edward holding her with his face and skin sparkling a bit.
His T-shirt has fallen to his waist so Edward must have fought Victoria off in a vicious battle, Bella was happy that he's okay.
At least she's not dying alone.
"Bella, squeeze my hand if you can hear me" Edward pleaded.
It was really Edward, She's not dreaming Bella tried to say something but only a gurgle came out of her, a fountain of blood sprinkled up and It even splashed on Edwards face.
his eyes lit up like he wanted to drink her blood but he grabbed onto her face, begging her not to go while fighting that urge.
"Bella stay with me" Edward cried, " No Edward" If you move her she'll die" Carlisle said.
"Then what am I supposed to do!?" Edward shouted at Carlisle and Bella didn't want him to be distraught and with a shaking hand she grabbed onto his.
"We'll get a stretcher, with that we can move her away from here" Carlisle suggested and went towards the direction where they left their car.
Bella tried to speak again but blood splashed upwards it was like she's choking on her own blood.
Her Body shook, wishing she could say something, in her mind she could speak full sentences but all Edward heard was gasping for air.
"Bella shh, save your strength darling," Holding her hand close to his face.
Edward saw Bella smile faintly at him clutching his hand and her mind went open for the first time.
Edward became alarmed, in a golden shimmering light her mind shield shifted and Edward could read her thoughts for the first time.
Their beautiful moments together, like his her favorite moment was swimming together and where she gave him permission to stay in her room for the night.
The Meadows, her mind was so pure, so beautiful, the way she thinks of others.. so kind and selfless but then the images had black holes in them getting bigger like a image projector in the old days that got set on fire. Everything was gone and Bella's hand fell to her side.
"Bella?" Edward said shaking her, her eyes closed no longer responding as the thumping of her heart started to slow down.
"No," Edward cried out, he bit her leg as soft as he could and licked the wound he created to make the Venom spread faster.
There was no response after he bit her, she remained quiet, why isn't the venom spreading faster? He bit her on her other leg and didn't want to bite her anymore since that could kill her before the venom has reached her heart in such a fragile state, Bella was holding on to a thread and he needs to keep her alive long enough.
"Carlisle!" Edward shouted and didn't want to wait anymore and tried to hoist Bella up, he felt a snap from her ribs and spine and Bella squirmed in his arms, he felt bad because in her mind she's screaming in agony and snarled at Esme who wanted to stop him.
He'll run to the hospital himself if he had to but Carlisle arrived with the car he carried the vehicle with one arm putting it down, and the others rushed to the car getting the stretcher out, they put her on there and raced towards their home, Bella's face changed as they left the scene.
more calmer, her mind was still open, Edward knows she's happy now, happy that she's going to his house, a place she always felt happy to be.
" It's your house too Bella, You're going to make it darling and I promise you when you get better we'll be together forever" Edward said encouraging.
despite wanting to turn back and kill Victoria saving Bella's life is more important, Edward could see the fury in Jacob's eyes and he wants Victoria to suffer just as much as he does, he hates it that he can't be the one who avenges Bella but right now Edward is where he needs to be. By her side through sickness and health.
