Impressions of Three Men in Black - A Poly!Volturi Kings tale

Celeste and Caius spend time together. She finds herself drawn to Caius in more ways than one, but decides she has to put on the brakes.

Chapter Three

Drawn like a moth to the proverbial flame

Caius drove all over the countryside, showing Celeste the beauty of this part of Italy. They arrived at the café where he would treat his mate to breakfast and learn more about her. After they had been seated on the patio, both enjoyed the view of the valley and the many vineyards below.

"So what was the song you were singing in the shower?" Caius asked.

Celeste laughed. "It's just a story about a human woman in love with a vampire, but he tries to discourage her from asking him to turn her because she will...she'll lose her humanity. Eventually he gives in and they live happily ever after, I guess."

"Hmm, sounds familiar," Caius remarked, peering at his mate. Discouraging her would not be something he would be doing.

Over breakfast, Celeste and Caius spoke for over an hour, she telling her proposed vampire mate about her life, and he explaining some things about his past and becoming a vampire. He didn't want her to fear the transformation, but rather to embrace the wonder of immortality. He would not reveal that immortality had its dark side. Boredom, rarely leaving the castle for any length of time, and having no concerns except to monitor the vampire community. He knew she wouldn't like that. But now that he and his brothers had their mate, even if shared between them, they might actually do other things if only to keep her entertained.

The Volturi had stables here in Volterra and private villas all over Europe. They only rarely used them. Caius found himself imagining taking Celeste to Greece and explaining the history of his early existence there, as best as he could remember, and use one of the island villas for some time alone with her. He knew Aro would balk, but he was not Celeste's only mate. Aro would have to let her go off alone with him or Marcus sometime.

Music began to play over loudspeakers hanging around the patio, setting the mood for Caius. He rose from his chair and stood at Celeste's side, holding out his hand to her.

Celeste looked up at Caius while a smile formed on his perfect face. She placed her hand in his, being reminded of his nature by the coldness of his skin. Celeste stood and followed Caius to a corner of the patio. He took her in his arms, his right hand resting at her waist, his left hand holding her right.

Celeste gasped lightly when Caius's cold hand landed on her waist. She placed her left hand on his shoulder, his long hair brushing against the top, tickling it.

Caius led, his eyes never leaving hers. The music was slow, and perfect for the pair to be close together. He nuzzled Celeste's neck, his cold breath dancing over her warm skin, sending chills down her back. Not wanting to make her nervous about any inclination he might have to bite her, he merely kissed her neck and straightened up. "I would not here in the public eye, in any case, Celeste."

She nodded, smiling, and leaned into Caius, inhaling a spicy sweet scent, realizing it was coming from him.

Noticing her sniffing him, Caius laughed. "It's the allure. Our bodies are made to attract humans. Our scent, our appearance, even the sound of our voices. It draws our prey to us."

"Is that what I am to you? Prey?" Celeste stopped. A sudden fear infused her body, making her feel hot and cold at the same time.

"Of course not. We would never be able to harm you in any way. To harm you would be harmful to us. Celeste, you may fear us deep down, but you have no need to. We will come to love you as the most important person in our lives. I hope you'll feel that way about me...us."

"As I admitted to Aro, I have begun to feel something, an affection for you both. I have had little time with Marcus, but being with you allows me to imagine what I'll be feeling for all of you."

Caius smiled and leaned in to give Celeste an almost chaste kiss on her cheek.

"You didn't even want me at first. What changed your mind?" She looked him in the eyes, her innocence expecting the truth. Instead, she saw his eyes darken ever so slightly. "Stop looking at me that way."

"What way?" he asked, his voice a low and raspy.

"What you're doing right now. It makes me want to do things with you."

"Does it?" Caius inquired. "And what kind of things do you want to do with me?" For a moment, Caius wished he has Aro's gift, but he could tell by other means Celeste was responding to him.

Pulling away from Caius, Celeste said, "I think we had better go. This talk is leading into dangerous territory. I want to get to know you before..."

Pressing his head against Celeste's, Caius whispered in her ear, "I know you're aroused. I can smell it. But I will respect your wishes and wait until you're ready."

Celeste felt like she was being rudely awakened from a pleasant dream. She almost whimpered in frustration when he took her hand and led her through the café and out to the parking lot. "Caius, did you pay the bill?" They had left so quickly, she hadn't seen him do that.

"Wait here," he said, shaking his head. He went back inside to take care of the payment. Celeste walked over to his car and waited. He returned and opened the door for her. "Thank you for reminding me. See what being near you does to me?"

Celeste laughed as they drove out the main road and back to Volterra. "Thank you for the day, Caius. I truly enjoyed the drive and breakfast... and dancing with you." Her hand rested on his arm and she flashed him a dazzling smile. What she had mentioned earlier was true. She was beginning to feel something strange and wonderful for this vampire who initially seemed to hate her.

When they returned to the castle, Caius sped to the other side of the car to help Celeste out. He offered his hand to her, enjoying playing the gentleman.

They entered through the back door, and had gone only a few feet before Aro flashed to them.

"Ah, you're home. Did you have a nice morning, my dear?" His eyes were on Celeste as if Caius wasn't even there.

Celeste frowned at Aro's rudeness. "Yes, we had a wonderful time," she replied, emphasizing the word 'we'.

"May I speak with you, Celeste, alone?"

"Aro, this is Caius' day. Can't it wait until later?" She huffed, but took Caius's hand in hers, showing Aro that she wanted to be with his brother.

"It's alright. I'll be waiting in my chambers. Ask any guard to lead you to them." Caius gave Aro a telling wink, and flashed away from the pair.

"What did that mean?" Aro demanded.

Playing along, Celeste replied, "It's just what it sounds like, Aro. Caius and I will be spending some time in his rooms. Not that it's any of your business. So what did you want to talk with me about?"

Aro took her elbow and walked her along the corridor. "So, my dear, who is next to spend time with you?"

"Brute! You're interrupting Caius' time to ask me who's next? For that, Marcus is next." When she saw his face drop, Celeste felt instant regret. "Aro, being last doesn't mean I find you the least interesting. Maybe I'm saving the best for last. I have a feeling you and I will be at odds sometimes." She took a step closer to him, gazing into his red eyes. "Maybe I want to be able to concentrate only on you. Do you understand?"

A slow smile appeared on his face. He did understand. He took her hand and kissed the palm. He then cupped her cheek, his thumb tracing her lips. "I promise the time will not be wasted, dear one. I'll try not to be jealous of your time with my brothers. Then when it's our time..." His eyes darkened when he leaned in to place a kiss on her lips. Aro saw Celeste blush and he smiled, confident she would be more his than either Caius' or Marcus'.

"Go now, my dear. Join Caius. I'm sure he's waiting impatiently." He turned to the tall guard. "Felix, please take Celeste to Master Caius' chambers. Until later." Then he flashed down the corridor, a light breeze wafting over her skin.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Felix walked Celeste to Caius' rooms, then giving her a smile, left her alone in front of his doors.

She reached up a hand and knocked on the hard carved wood. In no time, the doors opened to reveal Caius, who stepped aside to let her in.

Celeste looked around the room, admiring his taste in decor. "It's fabulous, Caius. The artwork alone. You must have been collecting for centuries."

Caius stood next to Celeste. "Do you like it then? You will be staying with me part of the time, and I want you to feel comfortable."

"It's all lovely." She accepted Caius' hand when he offered to show her the rest of his chambers.

"And this is the bedroom." He smiled with satisfaction when he saw her cheeks flush pink. Was she imagining their time here in this room? "Please, sit on the bed with me. I promise I will be a gentleman."

She laughed and complied. It felt very comfortable. She leaned back against the headboard, her legs out in front of her and crossed at the ankles. When Caius sat next to her, a bit too close, she still did not move away.

The blonde vampire took her hand and allowed his fingers to play with hers. "You are beautiful, Celeste."

"I never thought of myself as beautiful, but if I see it in your eyes, maybe I'm wrong." She found herself leaning against him, but again, did not move away. She noticed he never breathed in or out. He probably had no heartbeat. But how did their hearts stop, yet they continued to live?

When she asked him, he seemed to have to formulate a reply. Caius gave her all the physical details of the change.

"So according to you, when the venom enters a human body, it moves through the veins and arteries, crystalizing everything. Eventually, it reaches the heart, causing that to stop beating, and we die. But then we awaken to a new existence as an immortal." Was she the only one who saw the transformation differently?

"You can't be dead. You can't be!" Celeste protested. "I know what traditional vampires are supposed to be. The cursed undead. But that's not you. Your heart stopped beating because the venom renders it non essential, along with all your other organs. You still need to take in nourishment. The dead don't have to eat. Your brain can think and learn and create. The dead have only instinct." Her hand moved past his waist over his hip until it brushed across his front, feeling the hardness instantly develop into an erection. "This still responds to stimuli, in need and desire. The dead can't fuck, excuse my French." She pulled her hand back quickly. "Anyway, that's my opinion. Maybe I just don't want to think of myself as a member of the living dead, when it comes to my turn."

"But you mentioned the human saying, two hearts beating as one. Then asked about our four hearts. If our hearts no longer beat, how does that fit into your inquiry?"

"Exactly, Caius. Unlike the mythical vampires, you change, you transform. You don't die. We'll still have hearts and can feel emotions, even if they don't literally beat anymore."

Caius could not help himself. His facial expression darkened, when he pulled her to face him and kissed her deeply. He pulled back, seeing Celeste breathless. That only inspired him to kiss her again, his arms enclosing around her. He felt her arms move around him, her breath increasing as her passion rose. The scent of her arousal filled his nostrils. He could tell how much she wanted him. It would be so simple to take her now, but he had made her a promise. He pulled away and released her, his arms looser now.

"We had better stop, my love, or I will have to break my promise to you."

Celeste found her heart beating faster. He had called her 'my love', and it filled her with happiness. "Can you take me back to my room then, Caius. I'd like to rest a bit, maybe take a nap."

He did as she asked. Once they stood in front of her door, he tipped her face up with a finger and kissed her slowly and deeply. He had to taste her one more time before he left her to his brothers.

Celeste held in a moan. Caius did things to her, drawing out responses she had not expressed to any man before him. When she entered her room and he had flitted off, she ran to her bed and threw herself on it, crying out in frustration. "What the hell is happening to me?" When she had gathered her thoughts, she decided to take a shower and relax. Maybe someone could bring her some tea or red wine.

She stripped off her clothing and turned on the water to a medium hot temperature. Stepping into the shower, she lathered her hair and closed her eyes. Once the shampoo had been rinsed from her hair, she washed her body with the clean smelling soap. She was not yet ready to leave the refreshing water. Instead, her hands moved to her breasts, massaging them and tweaking the nipples onto hardness. One hand lowered down her torso to her mound, slipping fingers into her already wet cunt. She turned to the beautiful tiled wall and leaned against it while she masturbated, Caius' face in her mind. His hands were on her, his water-warmed body pressing her against the wall. Her breathing became pants until she felt a strong orgasm take her by surprise. Thoughts of Caius had given her something better than she had ever felt before.

What Celeste didn't know was she had inspired Caius to bring himself to an orgasm of his own, a vision of Celeste riding him like a stallion, their crimson eyes locked together.

In his own chambers, Marcus' gift showed him the ribbons representing Caius and Celeste winding tightly around each other, glowing in golden colours. His and Aro's floated around the other two. Marcus would wait his turn to be with his human mate. At least one of them had connected with her.

A/N : So one vampire has captured Celeste's heart. There are still two more to go. Will there be jealousy or mutual contentment for all four of these mates?
