Hawks thought.
'To ask or not to ask,' He closed his eyes as Miko trailed behind while they patrolled the streets, 'Would it trigger something in her? She's opening up now and I don't want to lose any progress in that.'
He would ask about the yellow backpack a little later.
It had been an interesting night though, with Miko inspecting every spot in his apartment until the food he had ordered arrived. It was a simple dinner of yakitori and oden and he had no care that Miko waited until it cooled so she use her hands to pick up her morsels of food.
He would teach her, but he would not rush her.
Bed time was even more interesting because he did have a second bedroom, but she insisted that pack stayed together, especially when sleeping, both Inu and Tengu did it, and so, Hawks found himself sharing his large bed with Miko, which was fine with him really.
Only if she did not have a hold on his wing all night.
Which almost had him writhing while she slept peacefully for what seemed like in a long time.
'In pain or in–' Hawks shook his head, 'Nope, not going there!' He took a glance at Miko, taking a note just how pretty she was, even if she was still in a bit of rough shape from her poor conditions, 'I don't even know how old she is! She could be fourteen or she could be thirty! Looks are deceiving these days!'
"Miko-chan?" He stopped and so did she in an instant to look at him curiously, "Tell me, have you ever been flying before?" His face was bright and her memories were muddled, but still there, "And I don't mean that crappy flight to the Billboards. A nice smooth one."
"Yes," Miko looked at down at her feet as the creature with two tails and large fangs stayed fuzzy, "Yes," She looked up to the sky and reached up towards it, "He took me on flights before on his aura. It looked like a cloud."
Hawks scratched his scratched his cheek, a bit irked at the reverence Miko's voice possessed and so, he acted, "Well, you're going on another one! My feathers are fine now, so I should test them out!" With that, he wrapped his arms right underneath her chest and took to the air with a smirk.
"It is much easier to control your territory this way," Miko stated, seemingly not affected by the height or the fear of being dropped, "Why not do this from the start?"
"Gotta give a little fan-service first, right?" Hawks laughed, feeling more lively in the sky, "I took one of the interns in the sky like this, Tsukuyomi. I do think you two should meet, though he's probably at school now."
"The other Tengu?" Miko asked, "Yes, perhaps I should," Her eyes shone with something resembling curiosity, "I would like to meet the Fire Oni's pups." She blinked when Hawks seemed to abruptly drift to one side before righting himself up.
"W-well, they're all pretty busy themselves, ya know? Shouto-kun's in school, Natsuo-san's in college, and Fuyumi-san is a teacher." Hawks began to sweat.
"What about the Fire Oni himself? I thought you wanted to work beside him?" Miko asked logically and Hawks cursed mentally.
"Ah ha, we finished that mission– well, actually, you did and Endeavor-san and I agreed to share info and would cooperate if we needed to." Hawks sighed, glancing down when Miko looked up at him.
"Even with my failure, I am still the Alpha of this pack," Miko stated so seriously that Hawks' heart almost skipped a beat, "I must be in frequent contact with the Fire Oni. You two may fight for the Beta position if you wish."
...What the hell was he getting himself into...?
