Laughable.

How utterly absurd.

'Honestly, how could a Fire Oni like him get a delicate species like a Yuki-Onna to mate with him?' Kagome wondered, before a soured expression appeared on her face, 'Unless it was... coerced in some way.'

If he had to atone for past 'sins', then it would not be surprising.

"I should've known," Fuyumi sighed, fretting, "I thought we could be a real family, with you trying to make a real effort and Okaa-san cheering up," She stood up, "I watched the Hero Billboards, so I know this girl is Hawks' new sidekick, Miko," She turned to Kagome and bowed, "I'm sorry for Natsu's inappropriate assumptions about you," She straightened quickly, "Perhaps I can find him before he leaves the estate."

Silence loomed as Fuyumi raced past Endeavor to try to catch up to Natsuo.

"You certainly have screwed up, haven't you, Flame Oni?" Kagome stated with no hesitation, causing Hawks to sigh at her blunt words, "What exactly are your sins? I cannot help you if I don't know what I'm helping with," She moved towards Shouto, who was still wary of her presence, "Well then? What did your father do to you, pup?"

"My name is Shouto, not 'pup'," Shouto answered coolly, eyes narrowing as his fingers frosted over unconsciously, "I fail to see how that is any of your business." His differently coloured eyes widened when she was suddenly nose to nose with him.

He did not even see her move.

"Your parents are incompatible, yet you are perfect mix of both," Kagome observed, "How unique. I suppose your father wasn't very kind to you in the past, was he? Fire Oni aren't exactly known to be... gentle."

"What is it that you want?" Shouto's voice lowered dangerously as his other hand began to flame, "I don't need you playing any mind games with me."

"Mind games, hmm?" Kagome repeated, smiling a bit as Shouto stiffened when she traced his scar, "How can they be mind games when they are true?" She stood up to her full height, "All I want is for you to join my pack. I can try to be a mediator between you and your father. I can help you get stronger, Shouto."

"I'm attending U.A. for a reason," Shouto also stood, surprised at how petite this girl really was, "How the old man intends to atone is up to him, not you."

"I intend on becoming a Hero you can be proud to call your father," Endeavor broke his silence, enduring Shouto's sharp gaze, "However, it may not be possible for me to receive your forgiveness with my actions alone."

"Then what's the point?" Shouto retorted pointedly, "These two have nothing to do with it. It was you and you alone that broke this family a part."

"The Fire Oni is a part of my pack now, so it is my business now, whether you like it or not," Kagome shrugged, "And to honest, you may be the only other worthy one of this family to join."

It was easy to see the pillar of ice coming.

"I only speak the truth," Kagome murmured into Shouto's ear from behind, causing him to tense before he sent a blast of flames her way, "Hawks," She blinked, finding herself in the air with a few feathers lifting her up, "I could have dodged that easily!"

"Still, I can't risk having a scorched Miko-chan on my hands~" Hawks winked, before turning to Shouto, who had a glare on his face, "Calm down, kid. She's right. Your siblings don't know how to fight."

Kagome only managed to put up a barrier in seconds as a larger blast of flames came from another direction and she scowled deeply while landing on the floor in a position where she could see and attack both, "What do you think you're doing?" She said in a dangerous, dangerous tone, "Stand down. This is an order."

"And I told you, little girl, I listen to no one but myself," Endeavor's flames billowed high and bright, "You call Natsuo and Fuyumi unworthy? I won't go easy on you."

Well then...

She supposed it was truly time to show him who was boss.
