Hoh.
"Are you sure you want to do this, Flame Oni?" Kagome asked, gesturing around, "You might end up ruining your nice house," Her eyes narrowed, "Didn't you ask us for help?"
"Honestly, what's up with you, Endeavor-san?" Hawks shook his head incredulously, "I don't really think you want to go up against Miko-chan," He grimaced, 'For several different reasons. She's killed people before.' He wanted to scream it out, but knew it was information that even he should not have.
"You insult my children," Endeavor grit his teeth at how nonchalant Kagome actually looked, "And you include me in this 'pack' I want no part of and dare to order me around?"
"You want no part of?" Kagome blinked, looking surprised and then turned to Hawks, "What is he saying? What's he talking about?" She asked almost frantically.
"I–don't ask me," Hawks answered apologetically, feeling bad for the girl when she bit her lip and frowned deeply, turning back to Endeavor, "Not exactly a nice thing to say to Miko-chan, Endeavor-san."
"You violate pack law," Kagome growled, "We may not be canine-based, but even Mirok–" It felt like a lightning bolt struck her and she flinched as her hand quickly came up to hold her head.
"Forget about the Houshi and the Taijiya, my precious, precious Miko."
'Houshi?' Kagome thought in a daze, 'Taijiya?' She jumped when a hand landed on her shoulder, "Ah!" She almost could not look at him, but forced herself to, "Hawks?"
"Your face, that expression," Hawks' eyes shone with sympathy, "It was the same one as before, when I asked you about your memories," He looked hesitant, "Did you remember something?"
Kagome's hand automatically landed on the prayer beads on the opposite arm and her whole body seemed to slump, "I'm done here," Her dulled blue eyes snapped up to Endeavor, whose flames were billowing high, "It's fine, break pack law," Her lips were tight as her eyes moved to Shouto, who was simply watching the whole scene with low-key shock, "But I suppose Kurikaramaru's effects will wear off. Your delusions will come back and your situation with your pups will simply get worse."
Endeavor tensed, and yet again, his flames seemed to explode, "Do not go back on your word, girl." He certainly needed Hawks' help for Natsuo and Miko's help for Fuyumi and possibly both for Shouto.
"Aren't you the one going back on your word?" Kagome sniffed, abruptly turning on her feet, "I would like to leave now. Is that okay, Hawks?" She asked softly.
Hawks gave Endeavor a long searching stare before patting Kagome on the head, "Of course, Miko-chan, whatever you want~" The two left the room, leaving the father and son to watch in silence.
"I honestly don't know what that was about," Shouto began after what seemed to be a long while, "But even I can tell you screwed up, old man. Why pick a fight with one of your teammates?"
Endeavor closed his eyes and leaned back against the wall as his flames shrunk until they were barely there, "Team... mates?" He had rarely ever needed such a thing, and thus, was unfamiliar with the smaller details.
"I'm assuming that 'pack' is just another term for teammates," Shouto shrugged, standing up and giving his father a side glance, "You can't be that foolish, can you?" He left the room to let his father to think.
Endeavor put his hand over his eyes, recalling that frantic look Kagome had on her face when he stated he was not a part of her 'pack' and let out a heavy sigh.
"Perhaps I am, Shouto."
